Phew - mw this morning went OK, fundal height put baby just above 50%, she took bloods, listened to heartbeat, blood pressue OK. Scan this afternoon was also positive in that baby was measuring merely days away from what they expect, which put it exactly on the 50% lines for me everything looking positive, and just looking forward to diabetes clinic tomorrow.

Saw baby sucking thumb, blinking, moving around, kicking etc :) Was rather sweet - took my dad with me as hes not seen anything from his first grandchild yet, and he loved it! A lot clearer than when he last saw a scan, 15+ years ago with my siblings. So pleased, he was estatic when he saw the heartbeating, and little fingers, and toes :)

Downside for the day, you know how certain smells have strong memory associations? I've put on the same deodorant that DH wore for the few weeks when I was horribly ill, now every time I inhale and catch the scent I feel really, really sick!

Hugmonster82 · 24/09/2014 19:30

Sasseh I had exactly the same with DH's deodorant. Unfortunately he bought loads on 3 for 2 when I said I liked it but then I got pregnant and the slightest whiff made me gag. Still can't stand it now when he uses it instead of the other stuff I had to buy him. One of my friends is the same with a certain type of washing powder and she had her baby in march!

stationaryace · 24/09/2014 20:09

No chance for baby panicking here, OH has decided that needs to be replaced by mortgage stress instead. I left him to sort everything out relating to selling/buying and we are due to move out and in 2 weeks today. Except he sat on the mortgage docs for ages so now it's touch and go if the money will arrive in time and I kinda want to shoot him. And I really don't want to be at the in-laws for more than one night!

I don't think reduced sugar levels are helping my mood either. Time to focus on Bake Off and resist the urge to scream.

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 24/09/2014 20:21

I think one of the most important aspects of getting vaccinated against anything that often gets overlooked, is that when you're not vaccinated, and you do catch whatever it is, you're then in a position to pass it onto vulnerable sections of society, such as babies, elderly people or those with suppressed immunity. The more people who are vaccinated = fewer cases of infection because it's not being passed around to as many people.

In other news, I am so fed up of coughing.

SassehMonsta · 24/09/2014 20:42

Spent the day between appointments cleaning my kitchen and doing other little jobs around the house. Promptly spilt mixed veg and boiling water over my clean hob and floor and cupboards. Given up and eaten too many carbs for dinner (read, chicken burger, hash brown, chips and a few veg that didn't go flying). DONT CAREEEEE ANYMOOOREEEE

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 24/09/2014 20:57

Hash browns AND chips? Hello!
After writing about being fed up of coughing, I promptly coughed so much that I threw up, so DH is making me ring the doctors in the morning to try and get an emergency appointment Hmm fairly certain I'm not whooping so I don't know what they'll do for me. I'm so miserable with it, though :(

Had a call from the Diabetic clinic. Hormones are screwed. Start on metaformin on Friday. Fucking horrible day at work, pelvis is screwed. No appointment as yet. Called Dr, they are still chasing. Going to bed. Probably will be asleep 5 mins because of the need to pee. Bladder screwed, sleep patterns screwed, wrists screwed.

Apparently its all worth it! Hmm

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 24/09/2014 21:55

BHLS :( :( :(

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 24/09/2014 22:00

Ahhh fuck it. Lets look at the positives. I'm eating more healthily, I'm having a baby- never thought that'd be me. my bed is very comfy.....Least I am being treated and hopefully wont end up with a giant baby.

Roonerspism · 24/09/2014 22:17

Huge sympathy to you trying to reduce sugar levels. Can you still eat fruit?

My sickness is back again today (28 weeks FFS) and all that helps is boiled sweets.

I'm also having both vaccinations done. I'm generally against unnecessary treatment in pregnancy but I'm around a lot of young kids and haven't had whooping cough myself or been vaccinated. So on balance, the pros outweigh the cons.

It's an absolute bugger getting rid of a cough when pregnant. Have you tried the steaming/olbas oil?

BHLS - not a good day. Sorry. What's up with hormones?

I just had my 28 week bloods and every other time I have been anaemic so I'm waiting for the call!

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 24/09/2014 22:18

Never mind, I keep being told that big babies are what you want, else they're so tiny you're scared to hold them. Holding onto that since all the mothers in my family have 8lb minimum babies!

CatFaceCrayola · 24/09/2014 23:29

Peace...I got well excited about the Manics/Holy Bible gig....until I realised that it's only 3/4 days after my due date!!! I don't think I can get away with that one really. Sad face

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 24/09/2014 23:32

Catface decided to try and get seated tickets if they have any, and if I can't make it, someone else will have my place.

RunByFruiting · 24/09/2014 23:39

Sorry about your shit day BigHairy

Peace, jealous of the Manics!
Seeing Kate Bush next Wednesday (last huzzah before wehave 3 kids and no one volunteers to babysit ever again).
You can keep your 8lber babies! I've put my name down for a 7lber.

I'm a namechanger so will update myself on the stats/fb page..

Had whooping cough jab and now can't lie on my right side. Not comfortable tonight!

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 25/09/2014 06:37

Rooner, have GD that I have beenb trying to control by diet alone. Hasn't worked so am now being put on metaformin. Sad

Lucy90 · 25/09/2014 12:27

Had some blood tests this morning for 28 week appointment on monday then came home for a lovely nap! Off to work now :( only 10 weeks until mat leave Grin

LotsaTuddles · 25/09/2014 16:34

Went with SiL to have her wisdom tooth out this afternoon and ending walking quite far.

My hips are absolutely killing me,can barely walk now.

And managed to scare myself silly because mine needs to come out asap after baby's born and mines stuck worse than SiLs and at the bottom which makes it worse anyway apparently.

MrsW27 · 25/09/2014 16:46

Did anybody have bloods taken at their 28week midwife appointment? Had mine today at 28+6 and have only just remembered that at my last appointment I was told I would have bloods taken today. It was a different midwife today so I'm not sure if she forgot to do it or if I actually didn't really need them taking anyway

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 25/09/2014 17:21

I think they take bloods to double check your rhesus status at 28 weeks? Possibly other stuff. Idk!

Work was insane today and I have to go in tomorrow on my day off :(
8 weeks until maternity leave and they haven't even advertised for my cover yet. Does my face look bothered? Grin

Roonerspism · 25/09/2014 18:30

BHLS - hope the metformin works out ok - I don't knowing about GD. Have you had diabetes before?

I had bloods at 28 weeks - it's standard and to check iron and blood sugar and anti-D.

I have had my wisdom teeth out (bottom). Wasn't that bad - honest - and mine were impacted!

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 25/09/2014 18:35

I had one of my bottom ones out; wasn't impacted, just wasn't enough room for it to erupt. I had the twilight anaesthetic thingy and it was marvellous! I made a right tit of myself in recovery apparently though, ahaha.

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 25/09/2014 18:51

AHHH Confused I put my nightie on from last night and there's a great big leaky stain where my boob is. Breast pads will be purchased tomorrow :( do I need to start wearing them every day now?

LotsaTuddles · 25/09/2014 19:52

Mine is impacted too roonerspism, SiL spoke to the dentist that did hers and he said he can do it if it's a simple one but he needs to see it, got dentist appointment tomorrow to hopefully be referred for him to have a look (that's what he said to do) if he thinks it's easy enough he can do it without an xray.

But, can only take paracetamol after, I think that's scaring me more than anything

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 25/09/2014 19:55

No Rooner. The baby did it! lol!

In clinic tomorrow. Am going to cause a fuss about physio and MH apt which I still haven't had. However, it's Friday so going to be a good day. :)
