Welcome Bubbly, a date buddy finally. I'm also due on 6th December and feeling very underprepared. We are about to start major building works on our house in the hope that it will all be finished by the end of November but who knows. The baby's bedroom needs a wall knocking down and completely redecorating eek.

Got my 28 week mw appointment today at 28+6 but I was away last week so couldn't go.

"Working" from home today so a nice easy day for me hopefully Smile

Hugmonster82 · 19/09/2014 10:07

Hello bubblySmile
I'm also working from home today. Lucky as I slept terribly and woke up with such bad cramp that I can't walk properly. The commute from bed to sofa seemed too far! I have switched my computer on and have loads to do but I just can't be bothered. Only 7 weeks until maternity leave starts!

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 19/09/2014 10:53

I'm sad that we're going home today, but at least we have the weekend off to regroup! I've got my GTT on Monday morning, urgh, must remember to buy Lucozade.
I've felt really dodgy the last three mornings and I'm wondering whether it could be morning sickness back again? I haven't thrown up but feel nauseous and exhausted and achey and awful. It could be the end of the virus but it does seem to go away a bit by early afternoon and I can eat. Hrrmm. We have to check out by midday but all I can do is lie on the bed while DH goes off to the shops and down to the beach :(
Hope everyone feels better by the weekend.

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 19/09/2014 11:55

Woah massive kick in the ribs! I guess baby isn't breech anymore then!

monkeybaby2 · 19/09/2014 13:14

Bubbly give me a shout if you want to join the fb group too Smile

toriaplum · 19/09/2014 13:28

Hi all, I've been lurking but haven't posted for a while. It's been a hectic few weeks. We put the house on the market last week. Had a viewing last weekend and another one for next week. DH has had a promotion. Grin
I had my whopping cough jab and 28 week check with midwife. Pleased as platlets and iron have improved. Mentioned mild pelvic pain to her. Gave me lots of advice and will refer me if it get worse. Also measuring two weeks ahead. Lovely midwife told me to tell everyone who has commented how big my bump is that it is larger that average but perfectly normal. Wink

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 19/09/2014 14:55

haha peace! Makes me jump when mine does that!

Just picked up a load of stuff from Aldi baby event...I am so nearly sorted.Grin

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 19/09/2014 14:58

Peace its weird. Everyone seems to feel odd at the minute. I am so bloody tired and have started feeling sick again. Although I am bricking it about delivery, and cannot imagine having a newborn, at the same time I am sick of being pregnant!!

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 19/09/2014 18:57

Just been given a Kaya mama wrap... trying to work out how to put it on. The cat isnt playing.

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 19/09/2014 19:16

LMFAOOOOO

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 19/09/2014 20:03

Bollocks I can't PM photos! Managed to get the cat to play... sling works well!

Repeated the experiment on DP. THe cat bit his nipple....

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 19/09/2014 23:44

Ooh just felt a kick from the outside for the first time! My sister and DH are crowding round trying to make it happen again!

CatFaceCrayola · 20/09/2014 09:19

Morning all.

peace -sounds like you've had a lovely holiday :)
I've been signed off for two weeks. To see if both my sanity and my back improve. Saw a new gp who was very against giving a pregnant woman antidepressants, despite usual gp and mw saying it's fine. Got given the number for Psychological Wellbeing/counselling but last time I tried them it took them 6 weeks just to send me a form to fill in....so not very helpful. Don't think I'll bother trying again.

And I have a dead arm from whooping cough vacc

CatFaceCrayola · 20/09/2014 09:21

Bubble refuses to kick for anyone but me and DH. She'll be super active, but as soon aa I put my mums or my friends hand on my belly she goes completely still!!

LotsaTuddles · 20/09/2014 09:36

Mine's like that too cat. She's very selective about who feels her kick. She only kicks for DH, DS, DNieces and the stick thing the MW uses to listen to her heartbeat. Anyone else she's like noooo not moving

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 20/09/2014 09:56

Mine will spend a morning dancing away until someone tries to feel her, then she plays musical statuesGrin

Ladylel · 20/09/2014 10:29

Bert and Ernie have only kicked for me exclusively (ofc) and DH has felt it about 4 maybe 5 times, they get awfully shy when any other hands come near. My mum caught the tail end of one and DH's BF Gf managed a sneaky feel but that's it. Id like DH to feel more and my own BF to have a feel but they seem determined to make me out to be a liar and I don't feel comfortable being touched for a long period of time when nothing is happening....

Carpet is going down in the nursery today. This means cots get to go up and when my mum comes home she's helping me with the rest of the decals. So close!

My hands are as numb as ever but left isn't half as bad as my right. Signed off work for all of September - annual leave for all of October - maternity leave starts 4th November.

Baby shower also in the works for 4th October :) should be fun. My
Mum, sis and bf are organising it. Mums obsessed partners should be involved to, tbh I think she just wants a gathering lol

Last but not least my feet just seem to be constantly swollen now. To the extent they feel bruised on top. Where I was lent on one I had a massive dent in my foot looked as tho someone took a crow bar to it!

Rest rest rest... And more rest! And fluids ....

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 20/09/2014 10:37

My sister desperately wants to organise a baby shower for me, but it makes me feel uncomfortable. Plus I only have two friends in the whole world.

SassehMonsta · 20/09/2014 10:39

Also have a musical statue baby, but it can be coaxed out with the lure of cold orange juice!

28 weeks exactly today. Everything is creeping up on me, so trying to track down all the last minute bits and pieces we still need, . Including those damn screws for the cot! Chased people about borrowing Moses basket and rocking crib so just need to arrange for my parents to collect (they live in same village as said person). Bought stuff like maternity pads and a few types of newborn nappies this week, and still have a few things I want to get. Some stuff my mum is saying to me "no, you won't need that blah blah blah" . But I'm planning on getting some of it anyway - I want a shade for the car as winter Sun is always low! Don't care what she says :-P

I've bought plenty of craft supplies for maternity leave, so fully stocked up on fabrics, wool and some beading bits to keep me busy. Only 6 weeks left at work, with lots of days off for maternity appointments (ooops!) Which I don't get paid for (0 got contract and wasn't written into contract) but oh well. Appointment with CAB week after next for benefits assessment and to help me confirm if I should take mat leave or just quit. Will see. As I'm on lower income threshold for mat pay its probably going to be better for me to quit!!

Gestational diabetes monitoring is going ok so far, only 1 of 9 has been higher than they want, which was probably because of the raisins I added to the cereal this morning. apparently fresh fruit is much better than dried. Back to clinic next week on Thursday, with midwife on Wed, scan Wed afternoon, and anti d on Friday. Zzzz.

Hope everyone's doing ok, I had a few bad MH days last week but seem to have come to terms with the gd diagnosis now - was a wreck! Fingers crossed all the aches and pains receed!

Oh yes, DH said to me yesterday "is it bad that I'm getting impatient and just want to meet our baby already?" To which I responded no, I am too but we both know it needs to cook for a bit longer. Made me super happy and smiley

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 20/09/2014 10:40

Bollocks! You got us!

SassehMonsta · 20/09/2014 10:41

So much cross posting! Peace, enjoy all that time off :) and rest! A few friends want to organise a baby shower but they haven't yet - need to bug them. There would only be 6 people attending anyway, and that's including my mil and mum!

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 20/09/2014 10:44

That was to peace Grin

I'm nervous of baby showers. I hate being the centre of attention. All my friends are miles away too.

Sasseh good on the sugar levels. I have removed all artificial sugar from my diet, reduced carb portion size, dont snack, and levels are still all over the place so I'm a bit gutted.Sad

Ladylel · 20/09/2014 11:18

This sugar level thing, with twins I thought id be like kept an eye on for everything but my mw seems to be going to opposite direction. It's nice to know I don't really have to worry unless the pros do but at same time how do they know not to worry? My diet is high sugar and carbs. I know this. They don't, they haven't asked. My breakfast in the morning last week was a large bowl of coco pops. Crisp have always been my Achilles heel, never been too fussed on chocolate but when I get it I demolish it like it's about to be taken from me. Not really had any cravings either just want more of my usual lol! Try and keep my main meals balanced tho with your typical protein, carb and fat content.

Fruit and veg bore the hell out of me unless it's hidden in stew, under cheese or in a smoothie form thou.

Taura · 20/09/2014 11:54

I went to my first "baby stuff sale" at the local pregnancy and parenting centre (where I do yoga) and came back with 3 sleeping bags incl one Jojomamanbebe, and 10 vests/babygros for £11. Also had a very good pitch about stretchy baby carriers - anyone got a Hana (bamboo) one?

Ladylel · 20/09/2014 13:05

Swollen legs and cuts - I had a bite on my leg which I scratched and it scabbed, I forgot about this managed to shave my legs and catch it but it did scab again without issue. Yesterday I was having a scratch of my leg and caught said scab and it just wouldn't stop bleeding! Is this normal when your legs have swollen? I assume it's something to do with blood pooling. Finally stopped once I stuck a bit of tissue to it an hour later. Never had a problem before :/
