I'm going to my first baby stuff sale in about an hour. The local church hall has a mums 2 market sale today and an NCT sale next Saturday. I've been told that not everything can come from John lewis so looking forward to getting some bargains to balance things out a little!

PourquoiTuGachesTaVie · 20/09/2014 16:31

Ladylel, your blood flow is increased due to pregnancy anyway (hence nosebleeds being common) so maybe that's why?

monkeybaby2 · 20/09/2014 17:24

Ladylel, if you aren't at risk then there's no need to worry - they know not to worry because they have done this a hundred times before! I eat a good amount of fruit and veg but am also eating a VAST amount of chocolate at the moment. It won't do you any harm at all besides the Podge Factor if you don't have GD. If you're worried about nutrients and vits, take a multi vit and then it will relieve the guilt. I have taken a multi vit all the way through both pgs on the advice of my beloved previous mw and it's stood me in good stead.

Have been feeling pop all day with a sickness and diarrhoea bug. So I've been asleep on the settee all afternoon.

Hubby has been out all afternoon and has just text me to tell me he is on his way home and he's bought me a present. 5 years together and I don't think he's ever done that. Am intrigued what it is Grin

Lucy90 · 20/09/2014 18:43

I havent had diarrhoea but had really bad wind all day :( trying to enjoy a weekend with my mum but just feel like a big wind bag!

LotsaTuddles · 20/09/2014 19:26

Hug, we went to John Lewis today. Bought DS a lovely giraffe teddy (he loves giraffes abs have been looking for a teddy like it since he was born, also bought him the rainbow muslins, slightly morethan I'd care to spend on them, but he uses them as his comforter and the ones he's had since he was born are minging now.

We also got baby a bath thing, and bottles starter set

CatFaceCrayola · 20/09/2014 21:12

Bubble finally played along and my mum was delighted to feel her kick :)

Nursery started being painted too today...we were going to go with a light and subtle lilac colour but have ended up going with a lovely bright purple.

Was meant to be going to a friends tonight but I feel far too emotional and my back is in too much pain so instead I shall stay home and crochet...ooh and play the new 3DSgame my lovely DH bought for me today

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 20/09/2014 22:33

Sister felt a kick today but DH was buggering about and wouldn't come down quickly enough so he missed out and baby won't play anymore. I tried pumping Du Hast directly onto my tummy but even that didn't work Grin

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 20/09/2014 22:37

Gah.... I've just had one of those "OH MY GOD I'm having a baby! I cant have a baby, I'm not ready wtf have I done oh shit oh shit" moments.

Havent had one in a while!

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 20/09/2014 22:57

I think I'm doing well not to have one of those on a daily basis BHLS! Do you feel ok now?

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 20/09/2014 23:18

Yeah I think so. I've been feeling shitty all day. Had whooping cough jab yesterday and nurse said I might feel a bit crap. Baby has been worryingly quiet too. Got through the day even managing to win a game.of trivial pursuit with dp and dsses but as soon as I got in bed she.started kicking. Instead of relief I just panicked about being pregnant! Overtired and ill is all I think.

Taura · 20/09/2014 23:34

I also shopped at John Lewis today, albeit online in my PJs. A friend has recommended their own-brand wedge changing mat, because the baby can't roll sideways and away. Also they have an end of line sale on some bright baby sleep suits.

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 21/09/2014 09:50

We're going to JL today! Definitely not buying anything though, we have £50 to last us until Wednesday Confused

PourquoiTuGachesTaVie · 21/09/2014 10:18

Got ds a new play doh toy yesterday and it has a new kind of softer play doh with it, in purple pots instead of yellow. It smells lush. It sticks to everything mind you, worse than normal play doh, but the smell is mmmm. Don't worry I won't eat it though Wink

espa · 21/09/2014 11:01

I have a real hatred of playdoh. That's what nursery is for.

Just ordered a Snuzpod for baby. First thing we've bought. Smile Smile

CallingAllEngels · 21/09/2014 11:43

Same here espa - playdoh free house.

PourquoiTuGachesTaVie · 21/09/2014 12:51

I despise crafts. We have lots of paint and gluing and sticking stuff - sequins, googley eyes, the works. But I hate it and only let him do messy craft when I feel really guilty. So if the play doh keeps him entertained for a while then I'll deal with it. It's not allowed out of the kitchen though. Grin

Dh's second job is stressing me out - he got told yesterday that they think everything he has going on is affecting his work (the irony is that they admitted that thing he was told he had done wrong, actually hadn't been done wrong but they're still going to treat it as though it was done wrong - yes if you can explain that then you're cleverer than I am!) Hmm

He needs this job until Christmas or we're screwed! I don't need this stress!!!!

Also randomly had the realisation that I'm due on 26th Nov, and it's the 2nd anniversary of my mum's death the week before and the first anniversary of my Nan's death the week after. A new baby will give that period of time a nice association at least.

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 21/09/2014 16:29

I've come home from JL thoroughly depressed. I WANT a new pram. I WANT my dream pram (SilverCross Sleepover Elegance). Humph. I'm really tempted to blow my whole pay packet on it next week, but DH would have a fit I think. BUT I WANTS IT.
I went on a spending spree in the haberdashery department to cheer myself up, and then DH paid for it.
Bah.

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 21/09/2014 16:47

Haha Peace. Its depressing isnt it! I want a new one too but have to settle for a second hand one I havent seen. Sad I am insisting on a new cot!

Hugmonster82 · 21/09/2014 16:54

Sounds like a rough couple of years Pourquoi. Hope the baby makes it a happier time of year for you. Mine is due on the 3rd Dec which is the date my grandad died and then the next year my great uncle died on the same day. It was years ago but I always thought that date was cursed. On a happier note DH and I will have been together for 9 1/2 years exactly on that date so think I'll focus on that!

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 21/09/2014 16:57

We are getting a new cot, but I didn't choose it. Very ungrateful bitch here, it's a surprise present from my sister. I just want to choose something new for my baby and be able to have it. The second hand pram I have is a world away from the one I want; not my taste at all. I'm being a brat but I just want it so much! I've never been in a position to have nice, new things, and I guess I'm depressed that my baby isn't either.

stationaryace · 21/09/2014 17:27

Just bought mum first baby thing today - muslins and a hooded towel from Aldi. Last of the big spenders here :) Picked out the pram but not bought it yet - taking it slow and also trying not to clog up the house with baby stuff yet as we are moving out in a few weeks.

monkeybaby2 · 21/09/2014 17:57

I finally bought something for the Diglet too! It's a stripey wool hoody, size 9-12 months, £1.50 from the charity shop.

I suppose technically I kind of bought something the other day too, a chest of drawers for me off eBay so that he can have mine as they are a good size to change babies on. DH picked it up this afternoon and it's sitting in the car until DD goes to bed so we can get it out. Am over excited at this.

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 21/09/2014 19:02

Oh good lord. Some liquid just came out of my boob. This is real, isn't it.

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 21/09/2014 19:26

OMG! I've been looking but nothing for me yet so far! Quick, taste it! Lol!
