Lol espa I've been eating brie, goats cheese, Camembert, the lot Wink

espa · 14/09/2014 15:25

That should have been did not fud! I only like cooked camembert anyway so I've not been fussed. The ones that are off limits I tend not to like anyway! Just want my pate and haggis. Sad Sad

Hi htbftm' we do have an fb group going strong too. It's secret atm but if you give me a shout, I can make it un-Secret so you can search for it and ask to join and then I can close it back down after you. Let me know when is a good time tonight Smile

htbftm · 14/09/2014 19:58

thanks monkey baby! any time is good for me! let me know what to search for! Smile

CallingAllEngels · 14/09/2014 20:05

monkey I had a magic baby (settled to 2 feeds a night very quickly, then dropped to 1 a night at 2 months, then slept through the night at 4 and half months the week before I went back to work. Really easy. BUT...

*I still remember the frustration and at one point anger I felt during the first few weeks, because I was so bloody tired, when he wanted another feed, even though it felt like I had just fed him, and as he was ebf, it had to be me to deal with it.

*DH cooked me a medium rare steak (that I had avoided all through my pg) and DS decided the moment of serving was the time he needed to be fed so DH had to feed me lukewarm steak - I cried! I was so looking forward to that steak!
*he started walking really early which turned him into a walking bulldozer at 10 months - he broke my kindle Sad My fault for leaving it within grabbing distance
*He had terrible sleep regression when he turned 2 and DH and I were complete zombies for 6 months as we could not get himt o sleep in his own bed or sleep through the night. It was HELL and I was on my knees.
*atm I am struggling through potty training and I am so fed up with cleaning poo and wee.

One of my friends pfb's was a nightmare with sleeping, eating, everything, but now is easy and both her boys were potty trained by 2, she makes it look really easy now with DC3.

Everyone gets a shit sandwich at some point with DC, some people are just lucky and get to eat a chocolate fudge cake first Grin

monkeybaby2 · 14/09/2014 20:23

Oh Engels', they do love to lull you into a false sense of security before changing the game again don't they! My friends two both slept through the night 10-5/6 from 8 weeks. I reckon she must of drugged them Wink

CallingAllEngels · 14/09/2014 20:26

And when he was a newborn I managed to lick poo from my hand (I thought it was mustard...why?WHY???!) and a few months ago he got out of bed, unheard by us, snuck into the bathroom, ate my body shop foot scrub then used my ttc pee cup to drink water out of the toilet.

Really it's a miracle that I'm allowed to have another baby.

CallingAllEngels · 14/09/2014 20:28

Oh, and the time he was supposed to be napping, pulled off his nappy, shat in his romper, pulled out the shit then managed to smear it all over his face, the floor, the door, the wall

That was the end of afternoon naps.

CallingAllEngels · 14/09/2014 20:28

I am a good mother, honest she says, sipping her wine

monkeybaby2 · 14/09/2014 20:50

Engels AHAHAHAHAHAHA! Classic!

DD has also got previous when it comes to shit distribution. Liquid ones decorating baby changes, me and our bedroom window. Stinky playdoh in van car seat and cot and twice in restaurants. Good times.

PourquoiTuGachesTaVie · 14/09/2014 20:50

My mum always said I was a nightmare, and MIL says the same about dh. Apparently neither of us ever grew out of it either... charming Hmm.

My own ds was difficult and people who knew dh as a child are always commenting about how similar they are, in looks and behaviour. He's very stubborn, has a temper if he can't do something properly and is very particular about things being done right. Tbh I can see what MIL means... dh is still like that.

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 14/09/2014 21:01

Oh god this isn't helping!

I have been a very hands on stepmum for the last nearly 7 years, but the youngest was 3.5 when I came along... I've never done babies and this scares me stupid! Its all poo and sleeplessness. Tell me some nice things!!!!

CallingAllEngels · 14/09/2014 21:11

When I walked downstairs on Friday in my wedding dress to go out, DS walked up to me with shining eyes and said, "Mama, you're pretty." Which made my heart melt just a little.

And he has always been a great traveller we won't mention 2 of our 12 hour flights on the way to/from nz last year who will happily sit quietly as we travel from our home in holland to visit my family in England - 7 hour trip and he's always so good.

He generally eats like a horse and will eat anything (going through a bit of a phase atm, but otherwise he could eat for Britain).

I would do DS's first year again and again, it was lovely.

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 14/09/2014 21:26

"When I walked downstairs on Friday in my wedding dress to go out" wait what?

PourquoiTuGachesTaVie · 14/09/2014 21:44

When they sleep (they will eventually) they are beautiful. And you will want to poke them awake again. But don't.

And as they get bigger they become funny and clever and are even nice to you sometimes. Ds said he "wants to keep me forever" the other day. Nothing anyone has ever said to me means more than that.

Treaclepie19 · 14/09/2014 21:48

Just lurking to see how you're all getting on. Not long to go now :)
Countdown to maternity for you all!

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 14/09/2014 22:14

Treacle!! Smile

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 15/09/2014 04:54

Hey Treacle!!! 6 weeks and counting for me! cant come soon enough...

monkeybaby2 · 15/09/2014 07:06

BHLS, because they'll smile at you and you will be so in love with them that you can cope with all the rest of it and the hard part is over so quickly x

CallingAllEngels · 15/09/2014 07:07

I got married when I was 7 months ps with DS peace and my dress wasn't white. Had a fancy thing at school on Friday so thought I'd get some wear out of it while I can. Wore it to another wedding 3 weeks after mine so currently it's cost me about€70 per wear (more value than most people get out of their wedding dress I reckon!).

treacle - spotted the dragons ttc thread last night and was having a quick lurk! I'm one of the last 8n this bus so still 11 weeks work to go but am very excited about being off for December so can watch Christmas films with DSall week long

Treaclepie19 · 15/09/2014 07:12

How exciting :)
I'll be checking in to see how everything goes and hear about your beautiful babies.

Calling that sounds great :) Enjoy that time.

I'm hoping to be pregnant again by my due date :)

LotsaTuddles · 15/09/2014 07:21

I'm letting myself forget DS' first few months (partially because I can't remember anyway).

He wasn't that bad, just hated sleep, and hated me sleeping too, but now he's just turned 1 he's lovely (again we'll ignore the tantrums and the endless eating and constantly stealing my food Shock).

I was initially on labour ward with DS, was first on a ward with one other woman (but 4 beds) then was transferred to a room by myself where I was strapped to monitor (he'd pooed before my waters broke) and I would have had him in that room had he not been breech, recovery was on a ward with 5 other women, but we just left the curtains mostly closed, as I couldn't get up DH was in charge of that anyway

Taura · 15/09/2014 07:30

Speaking of wedding dresses... DP proposed last night! (we have been together 9 years and I've been kind of nagging him, especially since getting pregnant). Hope to get married next spring/summer - DC1 will be about 6 months old at that point. Not too crazy ambitious I hope!

Hugmonster82 · 15/09/2014 08:16

Wow Taura. Congratulations! That's so exciting and about time tooSmile

SassehMonsta · 15/09/2014 08:26

Congratulations Taura!!

Just hanging out in the doctors waiting room after having my sugar drink for the GTT. Horrible heartburn making me want to breathe fire!! Not enough people to successfully people watch in here this morning, so very boring. Set my phone up as a wireless internet hotspot so I can get online on the kindle - Huzzah!

Woke up with heart racing and scared out of my wits due to weird dream, baby really doesn't like that!!

27+2 today.
