Finally home, nice to be here but scary as that was our last 'just a couple' time away! Found out on the motorway Burger King do veggie bean burgers, very happy person Grin.

That's so sad about Ben Fogle's baby, I keep forgetting things can still happen, but trying to focus on good things only.

Have decided to give in on trying to walk anywhere now. Tried walking around the shops in Grasmere today and was bent over with back and bump ache. I have felt properly pregnant the last few days!

Not had a chance to catch up today but has anyone else had a weird vibrating feeling near where baby's head is? Was wondering if maybe it's sucking it's thumb? 35+2 today, only 7 more days at work to go!!

fatpony · 26/08/2014 22:40

yellow the biscuits and cake will be for me of course - I just like to pretend i'm making them for visitors!

ohthegoats · 26/08/2014 22:51

With fibrogel I went for one in the morning with a pint of water, loads of fruit and bran all day then another in the evening. Works by next morning. What you need is to have your bathroom taken out leaving only a toilet pan with washing up bowl to flush and hose from mains to fill bowl. Picture attached. I've had three poos since lunchtime. Bloody typical!

Thanks for the tips Goats, I'll try the fruit & bran. Might stop there though, think ripping out my bathroom plumbing would be a step too far! Grin
Hope you get your loo sorted soon, you guys are all hardcore with your building work. I thought showing my house for sale & keeping it clean constantly was bad enough!

ButternutBosc · 27/08/2014 00:10

I still use the boots bag with my daughter, it is a bit small but if you take out the changing mat then there's plenty of room. Mine took a while for the voucher to arrive though so if you plan on using it I recommend signing up now. I'm getting a changing bag free with my double buggy and it is huge, luckily as I'll need the space!

munday I don't have the vibration feeling this time but with my last pregnancy I did. I hadn't thought it could be thumb sucking but that would make sense if it was, and is a very sweet thought too.

BadgerInBury · 27/08/2014 03:01

I wish this little badger would stop waking me up at 2.45am demanding toast.

porcito · 27/08/2014 03:21

goats hope you get your toilet situation sorted! I've been going at work. Except we share toilets with the kids in my school. I don't think I can look any of them in the eye any more.

Just got back from the doctor as baby had barely moved all day. Obviously she started kicking like a monster as soon as I sat in the waiting room. Everything was fine but she's measuring 3 weeks behind on the scan based on head and abdominal. Her measurements have always been all over the place, but now I've done the stupid google thing and have convinced myself that something's wrong to make her small. My bump's not too big either which adds to it. Gah, I don't know if my sanity can cope with 5 more weeks of second guessing everything!

Lulu298 · 27/08/2014 06:17

Thanks Kirstipops will try them out!

fedupofrainydays · 27/08/2014 07:07

Feel utterly rancid this morning but am holding on to fact this is one of two days left of work.
Sore throat and glands up too. Think I'm just worn down with all the travel and moving houses etc.
Thanks for letting me whinge here. I decided not to look at the house last night - just makes me feel worse! DH said they had starter decorating one of the bedrooms so hopefully we can have at least one room back soon. They couldn't fit the new oven through the door though so that will delay the kitchen being finished til the scaffolding goes down and it can go round the back. So def no freezer food being cooked!!
porcito try not to worry - were the mw concerned about the small measurements? Try not to be of they aren't. Some babies are just smaller! But I know how you feel - just want to meet them and know they are ok and all is fine!

Loo situ made me laugh as similar in our house except we have no water to fill up the bucket / washing up bowl! Fortunately I had only done a wee when I noticed this on my visit on Monday Smile

Missus2ndwife · 27/08/2014 07:10

Morning all,
Starting to feel uncomfortable sleeping - well turning over or lying on my side. I don't think he was too happy either and I could feel him tap tap tapping away inside.
At the moment, I have a pillow between my legs but wondering whether anyone tried one of those long pregnancy pillows to help get comfy?

My body temp has also gone up and I feel like a furnace. Had to sleep with the fan on again last nightHmm

Thanks for the links on batch cooking! I'm also planning on doing this and freezing cakes & cookie dough for those guests expecting to be waited on!! Ggggrrr

fedupofrainydays · 27/08/2014 07:27

Oh and I weighed myself on Monday... Weight gain of 2 stone 11 lbs. eeeek! Don't think I'm even eating that much! Ds was 3.5 stone so assuming I am heading that was again. Gotta love these thunder thighs. Dr google says it's too much to gain but hey, mentioned it to mw and she wasn't bothered so I will try not to be too.

MundayCakes85 · 27/08/2014 08:04

Fedup I've also gained that much probably more now but I blame quitting smoking and baby needing it for when I try to breast feed.
Had a meltdown at the weekend as things starting not to fit again Sad and now I've got a cold sore!
Feel for those of you without bathrooms, our toilet took 2 days to fit and 3 to find a seat for- bloody awful! Hope it gets better for you all soon.

ExcitedCJ · 27/08/2014 08:11

I officially would like to state my distain for Dr Google! I'm not sure he is entirely well qualified, I'm sure he got some dodgy diploma at some unrecognised university college! He seems to give the most pessimistic diagnosis ever & gets people into a tail spin. He reminds me of Dr Nick from The Simpsons, his degree was from 'Hollywood upstairs Medical College.'
Remember this when Dr Google is being unkind! Wink

Dear god, 11 wees last night!! May as well have stayed in the bathroom. Then woke up this morning and inhaled a piece of fluff... cue coughing until I was sick in the bin. I'm an absolute pleasure to share a bedroom with.

Off for cut and colour today. Should have something sensible and low maintenance, but feeling silly. Time for some highlights methinks.

tak1ngchances · 27/08/2014 08:41

Can I just say that I went to antenatal class last night and one of the girls was in labour in the class. But didn't want to "sit at home getting bored" !!!!

MundayCakes85 · 27/08/2014 08:52

Haha tak1ing how did she cope? Our antenatal classes weren't brilliant but that might have made them more interesting!

tak1ngchances · 27/08/2014 08:57

She was fine. In denial I think? So far the mucus plug had gone and she was having regular cramps but far apart

ohthegoats · 27/08/2014 09:01

Haha, doing the practical with the theory!

Think it's probably a good idea to try and carry on a bit as normal in the early stages (especially if it's number 1). We were all out for dinner the night before my first nephew was born - SIL said at the end of dinner that she'd been having contractions the whole evening - we hadn't noticed. He was born first thing the next morning.

Lily31 · 27/08/2014 09:02

Thanks for the bag tips, like the look of the skip hop (not too pricey either). Signed up to the Boots parenting club too, so waiting for that to come through.

Porcito It's so worrying waiting for bubba to arrive. I've been on codeine for PGP and was worried it was slowing the babies movements. As the others have said, if the medical staff aren't too worried, try not to worry as much and focus on the bubba moving about just when you arrived in the waiting room - cheeky :-)

Heading to the osteopath today, hoping they are gentle but looking forward to some relief. Plus sun is out after two days of rain :-)

Lily31 · 27/08/2014 09:15

Missus - I bought the Mum-E pillow after a recommendation. Personally, I wouldn't have bought it in hindsight. I usually end up chucking it out of the bed in the middle of the night. As it has the head pillow combined, it means you have to hug the pillow and I find having my arm under a pillow uncomfortable (and it goes a bit dead). The other thing is that you have to manoeuvre the whole thing if you want to turn over. I use two pillows, one between the legs and one under the bump or under my back (depending on what needs the support). It means moving is much easier.

I know a lot of people swear by the special pillows, so it might be worth a go. There a lots without the head pillow available, like the dream genii. Oo and also, a duvet underneath works well for added softness under the hips.

On the vibrating note, my bubba does that all the time. Just did it as I typed. I have no idea what it is! Weird eh?

JellyBeansHaveNoAgeLimit · 27/08/2014 09:17

Morning ladies, sorry to hear about all the aches, pains and constipation, not long to go now though! I got DH to take a bump pic last night (33 weeks) & then compared it to my 36 week pic with DS. Its about the same size! You can tell I am carrying differently though, this baby is much more out in front. I was still measuring correctly at my last appointment though so am not too worried. I can remember having a total meltdown at about 38 weeks with DS when they said he'd be a 9lber and he was only 7lb 11 so really not putting too much stock in measurements this time!

Really stuck on what change bag to get, I really want a backpack one as I think it will be more useful for carrying but they are all so plain and boring, I want a pretty one! Might go against DH and buy myself a pink lining back pack one Grin

Also just wanted to share what I am planning on getting for the sling: slumber-roo.co.uk/product/126/mam-deluxe-coverbabywearing-accessories
Its a cover that goes over the sling to protect baby from rain & cold. A much cheaper option than a babywearing coat! Although when they are tiny they will probably fit under my existing coat. Just something for the other sling mummies to consider :)
