So terrible the sad news about still births my heart goes out to them :(

I think I need a slap these Braxton hicks are getting me in a tis about pre term labour it's mainly because I've never had them before I don't know why my body's suddenly decided on the 5th pregnancy it will practice for something it's not even supposed to get to do as I'm having a cs at 39 weeks.

mum2kiss · 26/08/2014 19:15

Haha gun that must make bh even more annoying than usual!

Welcome aboard to the newbies :)

I don't want to cook anymore...like for the rest of my pregnancy...I haven't felt hungry for days and I simply don't care if my family eats or not! Of course I'm still having to force myself to cook something but I really REALLY don't want to! Tonight's effort if cheesey pasta for Dd. ..no idea what dp and I will eat...

Went into town today and could barely walk at all...to ages to go to a few shops and cost me a fiver in parking because we went over 2hrs! I should have been able to do all of those places in under an hour...Ho hum!

ohthegoats · 26/08/2014 19:21

I obsessively read miscarriage stories until about 20 weeks. I suppose now I'll be obsessing about still birth stories... especially if they are in the news. I didn't realise pregnancy would be as stressful in that sort of way as it has been! Basket case!

I've just seen some photos of me from early July - I haven't changed, I'm hardly any bigger at all. I don't feel any bigger either really. Now worrying... measuring right by tape measure, but haven't had a scan in 4 weeks. They thought that the baby would have some growth issues once it got past 28 weeks, and now I'm worrying that it actually is. At the last one it had started to tail off the 'norm' graph, but not in any way to worry about. Gibber. Midwife Friday then scan on Monday, basket case until then.

gunwalloe · 26/08/2014 19:29

Mum2 it's as if Mother Nature is taking the pee out of me!

Goats I do the same I read the sad forum posts on here god knows why when it upsets me

I've got my next growth scan tomorrow and consultant so will mention my body's sudden madness I think the fact I'm pretty sure I have yet another UTI as my kidneys are killing me is fueling my paranoia

Pregnantagain7 · 26/08/2014 19:39

Sorry fedup no where near I'm in cheshire, hope things start to get better soon I can't imagine how stressed you must be. My dp is going on a weekend away to marbella next Friday, apparently it's work Hmm
You're the boss and you booked it with your business partners and you have booked our favourite restaurants and you wonder why I have a face like thunder every time you mention it Angry

STIGZ · 26/08/2014 19:50

Lol @ mum2kiss i could have wrote your post regarding cooking/eating ... I could cry at meal times :(

Welcome new to all newbiesGrin i think it was lily suffering with spd.. I am too and the only thing that helps mine is doing sweet FA Shock but obviously that is easier said than done. Im just hoping that it will deffo go away after birth !!

I was looking at pics of dd when she was about one year old earlier.. I got really excited thinking that im going to have another wee girl and experience the cuteness, joy & laughter of another all over again Wink

MrsBadCrumble74 · 26/08/2014 19:51

So sad to hear all the bad news Sad I can't even begin to imagine what those poor people are going through.
Someone was asking about comfy trousers - I ordered some maternity pj bottoms from M&S in their sale and they are sooo comfy and soft.
I did some batch cooking last week as due on 28th September but have a feeling things may happen earlier with elcs. It wasn't much but enough to satisfy myself that we won't starve Grin
French in laws are already preparing a fantastic parcel of forbidden foods and drink GrinWine

LondonJen · 26/08/2014 20:00

Oh please do whinge. I would feel awful if I was the only one coming here to let off steam!

My whinge: has dp learnt NOTHING in 2014? Can I hold off ordering the pizzas (which will take 45mins to get here) for another 15 mins? Er, NO. I have been starving for hours and already snacked to tide me over. Now making jacket potatoes and in a mood about him putting visitors 'wander down to the riverside' over me. Grrr.

Shirehobbit · 26/08/2014 20:00

I never got to batch cook before DS'S early arrival, so Sainsburys online ordering was a godsend!

In other news, I seem to be losing the battle against the cold I thought I was fighting off Sad

fatpony · 26/08/2014 20:06

Re comfy leggings I'm having a section and picked up some jersey pj bottoms in primark the other day - they don't scream pajamas as are black with a pattern so reckon I could get away with them outside if necessary.

I'm planning to batch cook for the freezer - some curries/daals, fish pie, macaroni cheese, chilli, lentil loaf, hopefully some stews like beef and ale, sausage and bean. I've already done loads of stewed apples to make crumble. Would also like to make a couple of batches of biscuits to freeze and a couple of lemon cakes or something for when visitors come round. We'll see!

Here are a couple of links I have book marked

YellowWellies · 26/08/2014 20:10

I've batch cooked for J but that's because as a dairy free beastie its not as easy as bunging a pizza and yogurt in front of him. The freezer isn't big enough to batch cook for us as well.

Speaking of labour starting I'm so tempted to head to John Lewis with a bottle of water. They give you £50 in vouchers if your waters break in store Grin .

I've got diabetes clinic, obstetrician and MW tomo. Bump is still footling. I think I'm going to annoy the docs by refusing manual turning but meh they can't force me to consent. Goats I had scans every four weeks last time because of contractions from 25 weeks. It still felt like forever between scans. This time I'm getting them every four weeks from 30 weeks because of diabetes - its so nice to be able to see him / her. Having no scans from 20 weeks to birth must feel like forever!

Fed up I would be utterly nuts in your position. I'd find it soooo stressful. Fingers crossed for you x

ButternutBosc · 26/08/2014 20:12

Thanks for the welcome. How is everyone feeling? I've still got 5 weeks left but am completely exhausted and achey, the school run completely wipes me out for the rest of the day!

YellowWellies · 26/08/2014 20:12

Fatpony you're awesome - my visitors will be expected to bring biscuits and do the washing up Smile

Lily31 · 26/08/2014 20:24

Loving this thread already. stigz been doing sweet FA today which seems to have helped. Makes me stir crazy though!
yellow I think I might hit John Lewis too after that tip, they have a nappy bag I'd like and that would cover it. On that note anyone found an attractive bag which doubles as a nappy bag? They seem to ramp up the prices of 'changing bags'...

ohthegoats · 26/08/2014 20:53

I spent a vast fortune on my changing bag - big 'ol treat for myself. It's ace, I've been using it since I got it about 3 months ago.

People who are saying you feel like crap - are you sleeping? We got a new bed at the weekend, and the difference in my sleep is amazing. We were on the floor for the last few months, and it was just so exhausting getting up and down off a thin mattress 12 times a night for the loo. Since I've been more comfortable I've been only weeing 3 times a night, and therefore just feel SO much better during the day. Also finally figured out the heartburn pain management, although not the constipation.. but that's less of a problem with affecting sleep. I honestly feel like a different person mentally and physically.

ohthegoats · 26/08/2014 20:58

Actually, I bought the bag thinking I'd use the buggy loads, but probably actually will carry more than push, so I might have to rethink. Still an ace bag though!

mrsb87 · 26/08/2014 21:02

Well I've had no phone call so I'm guessing no gestational diabetes! Phew. That's one less thing to worry about. Maybe I got my dates wrong?! This baby is a right little chunk!
I'm planning on doing a chilli, lasagne and a sausage casserole for the freezer just to help us along a bit!

Lulu298 · 26/08/2014 21:03

Could anyone recommend any 10min daily ante-natal yoga vids on YouTube?

Am not going to be able to make my usual yoga class for a couple of weeks and am already feeling in pain so would like something shirt to fit into my daily routine.

Ta x

Lulu298 · 26/08/2014 21:03

Something short! Not shirt!

Happytimes31 · 26/08/2014 21:28

Poor house renovation ladies! Can I ask why people are anti manual turning? I am hoping that my little one has moved but can't tell, 34 wk appt soon....

YellowWellies · 26/08/2014 21:34

Happy my wee one is footling breech and there is a risk of breaking a wee leg if turned in this position, also my posterior is anterior so there is a risk of causing a haemorrhage and then being knocked out for an emergency section. Plus it can be quite a distressing procedure. If baby doesn't turn themselves then I'm going to plump for a section. If he/she was conventional breech and my placenta was different I might consider it.

Captainmcgraw · 26/08/2014 21:38

Thanks for the comfy trouser advice ladies - will look them all up and see what might suit me best.

gunwalloe I've started but not finished hospital bag. I keep forgetting there is the possibility of going into labour before 39 weeks and think I definitely have until then to do it. This weekend has been the first where I've been able to access baby things around renovation though so have been as organised as I could have been.

Kirstipops · 26/08/2014 21:44

Lulu - Here are some Youtube uploads of the "10 minute solution" antenatal pilates dvd I do, not yoga but may keep you going? www.youtube.com/results?search_query=10+minute+solution+prenatal+pilates
To my shame I've not done it for about a month but intend to pick it up when I'm on mat leave (last day next Friday whooo) because I've really missed it, I'm just so knackered when I get home I can't face it!
My mum and sister both had the ECV Happy and both times the baby spun back to breech position the same day! They did eventually move into the head down position within a few days but I'd guess maybe some are against it since the success rate isn't the greatest (think I read it's only 50%-ish but maybe i'm wrong?!), plus for some people it may be uncomfortable so they maybe (understandably) don't think it's worth it.
Since Saturday my little one has shifted from head-down on my left side, to head-down on the right, to transverse, diagonal, and now head down smack bang in the middle so I feel mahooosive! I used to joke that the kicks and movements were a disco but these days it feels like a circus!

Kirstipops · 26/08/2014 21:45

Jeezo Yellow no wonder you're not up for that, hope baby spins on it's own then!

ExcitedCJ · 26/08/2014 21:50

Goats I too have the constipation issue.
I'm doing little rabbit droppings every other day. Blooming iron tablets, if they are blocking me up they are running me through. I have taken Fibrgel for two days running & it isn't sorting me out. Any other suggestions?

On the bags to facilitate baby carrying issue... I have been doing a lot of browsing & I reckon I will buy myself a nice stylish leather handbag that is also a backpack & pop my SkipHop Pronto into it. Assuming BFing goes OK that should work well. I have seen one on Etsy that I loooove. Need to wait until pay day.
