No tips Lily as it's my first as well, but I have found swimming to be absolutely brill with pelvic pain! My osteopath told me to hang on to the side and stretch back away while bringing knees up to chest and then hold for a few seconds. I always feel much more freed up when I come out Smile

Shirehobbit · 26/08/2014 13:47

captain - John Lewis do some gorgeous bamboo yoga pants. They're a little pricey but uber comfy: m.johnlewis.com/mt/www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-rolldown-yoga-trousers/p955589?colour=Charcoal&un_jtt_v_pdp=yes&un_jtt_v_from_product=un_product_28#page_loaded

ohthegoats · 26/08/2014 13:53

Captain - have you thought of non maternity harem pants? Maybe in the next size up? Next sell them pretty cheaply.

gunwalloe · 26/08/2014 14:21

I Think I will need to get some joggers or just live in my pjs

Have you packed for hospital yet captain? I really need to start getting organised with 4 weeks to go

Lily31 · 26/08/2014 14:43

Thanks SummerDreams - I tried walking in the pool, but will give the stretches a go. First apt with the osteopath tomorrow, looking forward to it.

Going to head out and get some canvasses to paint for the nursery, that should keep me busy whilst I'm at home.

I haven't packed a hospital bag yet, I think I've got everything I need though. My bestie said that you have to take a snowsuit as they check you have one for the baby when you leave. Does anyone know if that's the case? Inexperienced...

Just checking in as I haven't been on for a few days and now have a ton of reading to do!

DS is being a real pickle with his naps atm, its taking a lot of persuasion to get him to sleep, I am terrified of having a non napping toddler AND a baby to deal with, pleeeeease don't drop your nap DS!

Me23 · 26/08/2014 15:15

No you do not have to have a snowsuit in fact if you are putting baby in car seat they should not be wearing a jacket or snowsuit as if there was an accident if would compress and harness becomes too loose so it is not safe. Layers are safer and easier and can be adjusted according to temperature.

Just saw sad news about Ben fogle as his wife having stillbirth at 32 weeks. How awful I hope they have lots of support around them.

Lily31 · 26/08/2014 15:19

Thanks Me23, gosh, sounds scary...

Shirehobbit · 26/08/2014 15:42

That's so sad for them - I remember her having a miscarriage in the middle of him filming something with James Cracknell, too Sad

I started my hospital bag today - you lot have guilted me into it! And it brought back so many memories from DS's arrival - some a little scary, but mostly very exciting.

Never heard that about snow suits, so I wouldn't worry. Not only that, last October was pretty warm and DS would have boil roasted in anything other than a vest, gro and blanket Smile

Lily31 · 26/08/2014 15:55

I've always love Ben Fogle, ever since he was on that reality show where they lived on Taransay. How very sad for them.

I keep looking at my pile of stuff for hospital and wondering how many bags I am going to need. The midwifes might think we're planning on staying for a while :-)

That's what I thought seemed more practical Shirehobbit. That's what I'll pack.

Pregnantagain7 · 26/08/2014 16:39

Hadn't heard about Ben fogle and his wife how very sad :(

Bloody piles have raised their ugly little heads today ouch ouch and a bit more ouch can't wait for dp to get home so I can get in a hot bath. I feel a bit odd because I can't really think of much to put in my hospital bag, I don't really remember needing anything while I was in labour before! Really hoping I can get home ASAP so only taking overnight stuff will leave some spare stuff in a bag at home. I have set myself a limit, by this weekend I want to be done with sorting and cleaning, baby's room ready and bag ready feel like everything's dragging on now and just want to be done.

Is anyone else planning on batch cooking? When kids go back I'm planning on filling the freezer was so nice last time not having to think about proper cooking for the first few weeks.

ohthegoats · 26/08/2014 16:54

I'm going to do some bits of cooking with meat for the freezer. Boyfriend is the cook in our house (ex chef), but he's a lactose intolerant fish eating veggie, so there are some things I sort of miss out on if he and I eat the same food. He's a great cook, and will cook meat for me if I really want it (he's already booked in for the blue-steak with stilton and cream sauce meal), but it's not really fair to expect him to do that! He said he can't wait for my normal tastes to come back so that he can start feeding me properly. Poor man putting up with my massively erratic appetite for the last 8 months.

So, will do some curries, pasta sauces, soups etc with lots of meat, cream and cheese in them, even if I don't actually eat them until lunchtimes when he's back at work.

STIGZ · 26/08/2014 17:00

Omg, thats so sad about ben foggle & his wife's baby Sadim 32 weeks so i am feeling rather freaked out as i also had a nosey on september thread this morning and there was also news of a still birth from august thread, and the girl that plays leah in home & away had a still birth a couple of weeks ago .... It makes me so sad that people are going through that living nightmare :(

mrsb87 · 26/08/2014 17:23

goats my dh is a pescatarian but can't cook anything! He's rubbish. He can even burn pizza. He will cook me a bacon sandwich if I want one but to be honest if he tries anything else I'd be worried about food poisoning. Trouble is on days when I really can't find the energy to cook I have to choice of said burnt pizza or frozen pie and chips!

fedupofrainydays · 26/08/2014 17:28

Freaks me out too stigz just can happen to anyone and that anyone could be me.

I would do some cooking if I had a kitchen! Last time I did lots or lasagne, bolognese, cottage pie, and casserole. This time will be lucky to have a house!

So tired today. Very unproductive at work which wasn't helpful as now have just two days to finish it all off!

Please stop talking about how organiser you all are - panics me! Upset as wanted to use mat leave to get organised and clean and tidy but no, it's going to be spent being a fucking nomad!
Sorry I whinge about the house situation but really is getting me down and hard to be positive when feel so scared about baby arriving early with nothing prepared and when so tired and not sleeping well. Ugh. Moany moan moan. Sorry. :(

SlideIn · 26/08/2014 17:28

Captain, ASOS have some maternity jersey yoga pants I pretty much live in atm as soooo comfy; can't do link from phone but will try when I get home - can be worn over or under bump as have lots of material and they were inexpensive.

ButternutBosc · 26/08/2014 17:33

hi everyone, can I join? I'm due on the 30th of September but I think I'm more likely to have an October baby.

Pregnantagain7 · 26/08/2014 17:43

Sorry fedup it must be a absolute nightmare for you if you live near me I will cook extra for you :)

And I think reality has set in that in six and a half weeks I will have 4 children to look after I always go into crazy orgnanise mode when I'm feeling panicky and stressed.

Pregnantagain7 · 26/08/2014 17:44

Sorry hi butternut pull up a chair you're very welcome :)

fedupofrainydays · 26/08/2014 17:49

pregnant I'm Surrey - anywhere near you?! Thanks for the offer!

Think worst part is DH going to Canada next week for 5 days for our friends wedding. So Looking after ds by myself with no house and potential for baby to come early. Going to stop stressing as we will cope whatever happens....

mrsb87 · 26/08/2014 17:51

Winge away fedup, my first week of . mat leave has been nowhere near as relaxing as I had hoped. I've had to trek up to the hospital yesterday and today for scans/gtt test, and not my local either, the one 45 minutes away! Tomorrow I had planned to see my sil with my niece and nephew which I'm really looking forward to so I didn't want to cancel that and then I have to do dh's sister's hair colour on Friday Sad so that gives me Thursday to do anything I wanted to at home.

Missus2ndwife · 26/08/2014 18:00

Captain - I bought some pregnancy yoga pants off eBay. So comfy I just bought another pair in a smaller size for post birth

I also read about Ben Fogle and his wife and am also a little freaked! And a friend back home just messaged to say her sister lost her baby this weekend at 26weeks. I can't imagine what these people must be going through right now but feel very sad for them both

Me23 · 26/08/2014 18:34

OH sister cooked us some yummy frozen meals when I had Ds and she is planning to do the same this time. Lately my appetite is crap I'm not eating much as I feel nauseous and have acid reflux most of the time despite the ranitidine think I'll have to try omeprazole soon.

Kirstipops · 26/08/2014 18:40

Hi butternut, I'm due September 27th but also expecting to be late :)
So tragic about Ben Fogle's wife :(
Yep Fedup moan and whinge away, I need this thread as my release, it's great to be able to unload and see others do the same!
I'd love to start some batch cooking too, might ask my ex-cook mum to email me some ideas!
My feet are like big huge hams, I drank buckets of water today, much to bump's excitement/annoyance!
