mum2 thanks for coming back to me. My midwife doesn't seem to be too concerned/ disinterested. When I discussed it with her she was very oh well, it's not very nice but it will pass. There has been no mention of a support belt either and I thought I would just buy one to see if it helps.
I'll ring her Tuesday and see if she is willing to refer but suspect she will tell me to see the doctor for a referal.
I know hydrotherapy won't help with weight loss but if I can strengthen the pelvis it will help me exercise hopefully

pregnantagain sorry you're so hormonal. I am too and finding it hard not scream at my OH when he annoys me so lol

sparkle I think as long as the movement is 'normal' for you, as in not decreased then probably there's nothing to worry about. I'm not a midwife of course though so definitely mention it to her and they might hook you up to monitor. It could be that baby is moving a lot but you just don't feel it or perhaps you have a chilled out, sleepy baby? (Could even be a sign of things to come!)

We finally have a decorated bedroom with carpet! Half the rest of house in a complete state but I feel very happy that there's a nice clean space to bring baby home too. Think DH (at nearly 35 weeks) has finally realised baby is coming fairly soon and is willing to get some stuff done round house. Yay!

porcito · 22/08/2014 19:54

taking my baby's head has been behind for the past two months, at one point over 3 weeks behind. My doctor (not the coffee one) said it was all fine. last scan, she'd caught up more. my bump's too small but she's growing fine. I can't wait until 6 weeks when I can worry about her in person!

sparkle I got a change bag from TK Maxx. The bigger stores often stock a handful. I got a good one for £25 reduced from £50. Plain red, suitable for Dads too. I had the free Boots one last time and loved it but I got rid of it. I think it depended on what I was doing or where I was going as to whether I took a hand bag too.

Kirstipops · 22/08/2014 20:27

Yay captain it's exciting isn't it! This weekend is gonna be nesting-tastic for me too, DH has the weekend off for the first time in 3 weeks and my mum and sister (decorating maestros) are coming over to help us get cracking on our bedroom and nursery, paint party wheeee :) I had a half day today as I had the urge to cut this week short due to feeling like i've been hit by a train; my mum came over in the afternoon and helped me clean & tidy up my downstairs (as in the kitchen, hall & living room, not my ladygarden area Grin ), then demanded that I put my feet up (they are like big hams :( ) and proceeded to clean and gloss the paintwork in our bedroom so we'd have a head start for tomorrow. I fking love her.

I know we talked about this a while back, but for those who have started on the nursery, or have plans in mind - what did you go for? We haven't decorated it since we moved in so it still has the zebra print feature wall Hmm, need to get cracking looking for wallpaper to cover it up cos I'm buggered if I'm going to try and paint over that horror show, the uber-kiddie oriented stuff in the shops isn't really my bag so I think I'll need to go online for inspiration...

Sparkle I'm 35 weeks tomorrow so movements are quite obvious for me by now and s/he's a little hiccuping fidget, bit like dad really. On a working day the most impressive kicks are in the evenings, daytime I only tend to notice movements at the times when I'm sitting at my desk, thankfully movement doesn't keep me awake yet. When I was hooked up to the monitor last Friday I felt about 4 small movements in the space of the hour I was on it, my pregnant friend has to go on the monitor once a week for 2 or 3 hours and is told that the amount of movement she experiences in that time is the same as some feel all day long, so it definitely seems to be different for everyone!

What are you all up to this weekend?

Mammoth post, jeez....

YellowWellies · 22/08/2014 20:28

I'm not really very girly when it comes to bags so struggled with change bags as they were a bit uber cupcake for me - SIL gave me a very pink floral Cath Kidston oil cloth change bag - it wasn't me but was free - but it kept slipping off my shoulder and drove me mad. I liked the boots ones that just look like a tan handbag and had one for 18 months until someone short Envy bust the zip. Its surprising how much stuff you end up lugging round even if BF - rattles, spare clothes, red book, nappies, wipes, hats, cardis etc but there's no reason you couldn't just use a normal bag so long as its roomy enough? I do now.

JellyBeansHaveNoAgeLimit · 22/08/2014 20:37

Mum, can your sister take her situation to the supervisor of midwives (SOM)? I have heard this person has a lot of pull, if she can convince her she needs inducting then the SOM might be able to convince the consultant!

Sparkle, pink lining do plain patterned ones and are currently having a sale! I have my eye on a backpack style one but am umming and ahhing as to weather I -really- need it! I used a proper change bag in the beginning with DS but found it rather heavy with all the separate compartments. I am currently just using an oversized handbag with one compartment to hold everything which seems to work OK but not sure how well it will hold up with 2 babies worth of guff!

Pregnantagain7 · 22/08/2014 20:49

Thanks missus managed to grab a nap this afternoon so feel better.

On a more lighthearted note anyone fancy joining me on a list of things we are looking forward to after having the baby? Apart from obvious newborn snuggles.

I'm looking forward to:

My boobs not resting on my tummy (hate the feeling)
Not having to dash to the toilet at the first sign I might need a poo
Curling up on the sofa rather than sitting like a big whale with my legs open at a 45 degree angle
A big glass of champagne and no indigestion
Strangers not doing a double take when they see me pushing a baby with a big baby bump starting to feel like Vicky pollard Grin

bumpbangbump · 22/08/2014 20:54

Gin!

JellyBeansHaveNoAgeLimit · 22/08/2014 21:02

I am with you on the double take thing pregnant! I live in a bit of a chav hot spot (can I say that?) & hate being classed as one of them! God that makes me sound so stuck up but never mind Grin

I had left over chinese for dinner followed by the left over prawn crackers and now I am hungry again! This poor child has no hope of getting any nutrients from mummy today!

JellyBeansHaveNoAgeLimit · 22/08/2014 21:04

Oh I forgot to add the thing I am looking forward to! - Being able to turn over in bed in one movements instead of 3! & no more sciatica will be nice!

mrsb87 · 22/08/2014 21:04

Baked camembere, bacon and brie sandwiches. Rare steak, CIDER, sleeping on my tummy, having a normal sized appetite and not feeling full after eating a single pea......The list is endless right now.

Love your list pregnant Smile

Some of mine are : having a second opinion regarding baby's well being., feel so stressed making judments on movements each day !!
: a bottle of champagne
: seeing if she looks like her big sister
: no more SPD and being able to go soft play with DD
:getting dressed up for a night out with a glass of wine in hand Wine
: wanting to have sex with DP Blush
: being able to see & keep my foof maintained Blush

I could bloody go on forever ..,

tothesea27 · 22/08/2014 21:11

Yes! Rolling over in bed easily is one of my top ones, too. And getting back to sleeping on my stomach.

I don't have a changing bag yet. Anyone tried to get the free one from Boots? I'm not into super girly bags, really, and am also considering just using a regular bag. I'd still need to get a new one, as both the bags I own are quite small.

Pregnantagain7 · 22/08/2014 21:21

I agree with everything people have added!! jelly I went out to asda the other day to get some school supplies for dd1 it's in a slightly downmarket area (god I sound like hyacinth bucket!) and I was the one getting all the funny looks!!

Yes yes to rolling over in bed it's like moving the titanic turning me over at the moment

I've decided to order a bikini trimmer I've never hade such an ungroomed fanjo in all my life Grin

JellyBeansHaveNoAgeLimit · 22/08/2014 21:27

tothesea, the boots one isnt bad but not as roomy as some. I reckon it would be OK if breastfeeding as it wouldnt be crammed with bottles, formula AND a thermos like mine was Smile I did use it for quite some time before upgrading though.

SweetPeaPods · 22/08/2014 21:36

I love my pacapod but they are pricey.
We use the free boots one for nursery and DH sometimes uses it.
It's definitely not big enough for everything I take out and about. But I use mine as handbag too so put my purse, phone etc in too so I only have 1 bag.
Not sure how I'm going to manage 2 lots of everything, nappies, spare clothes etc not even including snacks, water etc for ds.

Kirstipops · 22/08/2014 22:20

Camembert is OK to have if it's baked Mrsb, because the heat kills the possible germs? (or are you only off it for sicky reasons?) I've had it quite a few times!

-First thing on my list is to be able to move about bed/sleep comfortably, especially on my back!
-Getting my libido back and/or the strength to indulge it.
-Being in control of my emotions!
-Wearing something other than my small selection of maternity clothes and feeling like I actually look nice in it! (Whatever preggo glow I had has glown.)
-A guilt free glass of wine/beer, obv!!!!

Mum2 that is so shit about your sister, I hope something can be sorted about it Angry

robindeer · 22/08/2014 22:24

I'm looking forward to not feeling like I have to pee every five minutes/plan every outing based on the proximity of a toilet! Also, I'm really hoping the heartburn will do one. I am so sick of it!

I would say I'm looking forward to getting a full night's sleep again but I'm not that naive!

Shirehobbit · 22/08/2014 22:30

Another one in the odd-looks-pregnant-with-a-baby-camp (but at least we're clearly pregnant now, not in that in between stage, when I became paranoid about everyone still thinking I had masses of excess baby weight left Blush)

The Boots bag is small, but useful. I have a much larger, courier style bag from Mothercare as my main bag - and DH has no issue carrying it either. I rarely take a handbag out nowadays Sad

Pregnantagain7 · 22/08/2014 22:33

Oh I just thought of another not waking up in a big pile of dribble what the hell is all that about?!

YellowWellies · 22/08/2014 22:35

I'm just really looking forward to meeting the baby and finding out if they're he or she. Also looking forward to having our family 'complete' Smile and being able to make plans without worrying about babies or pregnancy.

YellowWellies · 22/08/2014 22:36

Ah see I dribble when not preggers too - sleeping face down is dead glam.
