LOL Pregnant for the first time I drooled a bit while sleeping today......unfortunately I was on a bus Grin

BadgerInBury · 22/08/2014 22:51

Sorry if this is a stupid question but what free Boots bag is this?

MrsBadCrumble74 · 22/08/2014 23:09

Loving the list! Honestly I'm doing a 7 point manoeuvre to turn over in bed at the mo. The bliss of not having to do that.......
My husband is French and I have been deprived of all lovely foods - food and wine orgy imminent. G&T would be spot on too Grin
Not burping, parping at completely inappropriate moments Blush
Having a libido again
Having normal hormones

I had a pink lining changing bag which was great but we've treated ourselves to a Pacapod rucksack one this time as felt it would be easier with baby and dd.

Pinkie2103 · 23/08/2014 05:58

I had a Pacapod last time and loved it. Didn't really use the feeding pod much though. Have left it in storage though so just bought the Skip Hop Pronto To throw in my normal bag www.skiphop.com/product/prontochangingstation.html

I also have a clear bag it was from the travel section at M&S) that I ALWAYS carry with me which has antic-bac hand wash, tissues, lip salve, paracetamol, hairband, small pack wipes, nail file, small pot of sudocrem, mini sunscreen and a pen. It was much easier to find what I wanted as it was clear and if I did swap bags I didn't forget anything!

Have come down with a cold. The guy at the pharmacy at Boots was most unhelpful so have had to resort to saline spray to try and clear blocked nose and the odd paracetamol, bottle of lucozade and cough weeks. Had to get up at 5am as was coughing. Eugh

Happytimes31 · 23/08/2014 09:16

Yup the boots people are militant about nothing to help a cold. Currently using saline nasel thing and mild vapour rub for age 3 mths plus! Rather want some Karvol too but no one seems to stock any, any ideas ladies? Seems like lots of mini bags inside changing bag is the way forward, my friend showed me a tiny bag in which she had crammed a whole spare outfit! Might use those camping 'squash air out' style bags

mrsb87 · 23/08/2014 09:53

Oooh I got recommended to steam it out, they gave me some stuff from a search pharmacy to put in the water.

Woke up to that horrid feeling of "what if its twins and they missed it!!!" I have grown LOADS in 2 weeks since I last saw the midwife.....shit.

mrsb87 · 23/08/2014 09:54

*asda, not search.

mum2kiss · 23/08/2014 10:01

I've been worried about missed twins this entire pregnancy lol!

Tmi alert!!! I think I have a pile!!!! I haven't been constipated though so could it still be a pile? Just feels like I've got more going on down there than I remember being there before!

mrsb87 · 23/08/2014 10:19

Just spoke to my mum and they noticed her considerable bump size at 34 wks. The first thing she said to me was "are they sure it's just one?!". Oh dear. As if I wasn't unprepared before!!

SweetPeaPods · 23/08/2014 10:54

Asda are having one from Monday I believe. Might stock up on some nappies etc.
going to brave kiddicare this afternoon see if they have anything left!

Happytimes31 · 23/08/2014 11:24

What is the steam stuff called? Had a dream that it was twins last night!!

Happytimes31 · 23/08/2014 11:25

Mean IS twins Smile and the baby rather than IT, horrid mother Smile

clairemiss79 · 23/08/2014 12:51

I have to add to list of what we're looking forward to not being pregnant.
No heartburn/indigestion
Being able to get up from sitting or the floor
Picking things up with great ease
Wine
Hmmm stilton cheese
Not feeling like I'm the weight of a baby elephant
Knowing I don't have to give birth

Loving everyone elses list. On the subject of changing bags I'm also getting the freebie from boots. I had it before and it's great. Not fashionable but great :)

mrsb87 · 23/08/2014 14:03

happy I will dig through the medicine box for you. I know I wasn't able to use vapour or anything.

mrsb87 · 23/08/2014 15:18

This was the stuff happy, it was the only thing I could use for a blocked nose.

I've still got a cold so bunged up used sterimar nasal spray but it hasn't helped also taking paracetamol.

We have made some progress on the home decor front carpet for hall and stairs purchased today and will be fitted on Wednesday :-) I don't see the painting being done before babies arrival but at least the horrible carpet will be gone.

I've so tired my 3 yr old has woken up at 3am te past two nights thinking he's up for the day he eventually went back to bed then woke at his usual 6:20am. I really hope he doesn't rpt these shenanigans tonight!

I'll be honest the one thing that scares me about having a baby is not the labour or whether I'll have a normal birth or Cs but whether I'll have another baby who doesn't sleep. Dd was bad but Ds was awful he was averse to naps as a baby ad toddler I didn't get 5 mins to myself and didn't sleep through till 16 months and then woke at 5am every morning it's the reason we said we were a stopping at 2. I'm wishing this one is different.

YellowWellies · 23/08/2014 16:16

What about stuff we're going to miss when not preggers? I've loved not having to change the cat litter! And batting my eyelashes and getting DH to run and get me what I'm craving. Smile

YellowWellies · 23/08/2014 16:21

We had a work o'clock wake up from j this weekend - nooooooo its a day off dude! Just been to his cousin's birthday party at a local ceramic painting cafe. Was lovely - think I might have his 3rd birthday there. It had a great soft play for working off excess energy too. This evening we are FINALLY going to start painting our bedroom whoop! Last room Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Me23 · 23/08/2014 16:43

Looking forward to when not pregnant
: prosecco
: getting into shape finally
: getting libido back
: able to move easily not 3 point turns to get out of bed
What I'll miss
: OH doing lots for me!
: feeling baby move
: although it's been a tough ride this is definitely te last time I will be pregnant so I will miss it in that sense.
: having to go back to work (though ask me again in 4 months I may be itching for some adult conversation and time for myself)

FrauEnglischLehrerin · 23/08/2014 16:52

me23 me too with the non-sleeping baby fear. Fingers crossed we both (and everyone else on the thread) get babies who sleep 12 hours a night from 6 weeks.

STIGZ · 23/08/2014 18:23

me I am also apprehensive about the sleeping patterns of this baby as her big sister was a total nightmare... Only just got her in own bed recently & she is fourConfused .,, that it is why it has taken me so long to have another.,. I totally wasnt prepared for the constant sleepess nights and there was deffo no "sleeping when baby sleeps" as she just wouldnt nap longer than 15 mins during the day until she was about one & a half, she also wasnt happy unless she was attached my hip, i couldnt even put her in the bouncer and get a quick bath, she would just scream until i picked her up!!

My mum said i was the perfect baby who loved sleep from day one, im still the same, i need lots of sleep to function so i stupidly expected my dd would be the same as me.... But how opposite she was to me was an understatement Sad

Atleast this time i will know what to expect ... I have prepared myself for total exhustion and will take any amount of sleep i get as a blessing!!

Kirstipops · 23/08/2014 18:57

When I'm not pregnant I'll miss the kicks, and possibly the boobs if they fade back to my B cups! Lucky you Yellow, I still change the cat litter! Though to be fair on the odd occasion when DH does change it I usually end tutting since he empties the poop but leaves the soggy litter Hmm so I'm better doing it myself!!

Pregnantagain7 · 23/08/2014 19:01

I think there will definitely me a part of me that's a bit sad when this pregnancy is over as it's my last one. Although when we went to ikea this morning dd was looking at the bunk beds saying daddy I like those beds can I have one of those? To which dp replied if mummy has another baby and you had to share a bedroom then you could.Hmm I don't bloody think so mate it's ok for you leaving the house at eight in a pristine suit while I wipe cereal out of my hair and try to stop Ds hitting the dog with his spoon! Ha ha only joking I love it really but think four is my limit Grin

I've been baby shopping this afternoon and actually feel like I'm getting prepared just need a cot bed for Ds, a sheepskin for the pram, and a car seat base, some toiletries for hospital bag and I'm done. Although I do need to sort it all out and arrange the nursery can't face it now though took kids to pizza express on the way home ate way to much and now feel like I have brick in my stomach :)

I'm going to really miss all the wriggles and squirms and kicks. It is such a special, unique feeling. I'll miss the pampering and just being pregnant - this is very definitely my last pregnancy at 40.
I'm really worried about the sleep thing. I'm terrible without sleep - my dd was a dream sleeper and I dread the opposite.
Hope all you ladies are having a nice bank holiday weekend.
Quick question - anyone got any tips on getting an almost 3 year old to bed? She delights in coming downstairs all evening for random reasons. We've tried a reward chart but it's not working. Sad
