Missus nightmare isn't it. I have SPD at the front and SI pain at the back, such joy! Helping me to practice my breathing when the pain makes me catch my breath.

Missus2ndwife · 19/08/2014 17:44

Happytimes - I feel like air punching that I don't have SI pain!! Did have some sciatica last week but luckily that's eased up. Have you tried anything like an osteo or physio to help? I'm trying accupuncture but only had one session so far and don't know if it did anything ??

mrsb87 · 19/08/2014 17:51

Hmm these braxton hicks really aren't Lowing down today. Getting pressure down there with them too. What's normal for braxton hicks? I'm not worried as such, just wondering how long they go on for and if I should give the midwives a call? I dunno, maybe I'm being daft.

Hi all I haven't posted for ages! Hope you ladies are all well. Must say I'm delighted for carebear fab news.

Sorry to hear of you with spd etc can't be pleasant. Touch wood I don't have a pile as yet.... Had a big one with ds drs said due to sheer weight of him. Nothing really deals with it. Remember it drying up and dropping off after birth sorry tmi.

My morning sickness has returned.... 3rd pregnancy and Its the first time It's returned I've felt so poorly just hope the next 8 weeks go quickly. So does poor DH and the Kids I'm not much fun at the moment. I also seemed to have stopped putting on weight. Must be down to the sickness.... I haven't put anything on for the last 6 weeks. Still no nursery furniture or cot bought just don't have energy to do the nursery but we really should.

Starting packing my bag spurred on by you ladies that made me feel a little brighter! Anyone else struggling for names? I really don't like anything that DH does.

My parents have booked a holiday they go away for just under 3 weeks at the weekend. I'm petrified that the baby will be early. Who will look after my dd and ds if it does.... What does happen if you seriously have no one to look after them during labour?

Pinkie2103 · 19/08/2014 18:12

I have lost my appetite too over the last three days but I also have what I think is the start of a cold (only a dry annoying throat at the moment....phew) so I am drinking lots of tea, orange juice, luzozade and water and hoping for the best. Toast with or without cheese is all I feel like at the moment

Have been having some mild period like cramps in the evening over the last two days but I'm not stressing about them too much, just yet! No braxton hicks though

I used reusable nappies a little bit with DS1 but never got into a good washing groove. I did however, use reusable wipes all the time and thought they were awesome - will be digging them out again for the next one

STIGZ · 19/08/2014 18:47

mrsb deffo give your midwife a ring about braxton hicks .,, i thought i was getting braxton hicks with my last pregnancy .., and was actually in labour at 38 weeks so please please give them a call, how many weeks are you ?

mrsb87 · 19/08/2014 18:53

I'm 34 wks so hopefully a bit early! I hate this, I'm not normally a worrier.

FrauEnglischLehrerin many thanks for your info on a C section. It seems that the key to recovery is to take it slow and let nature do it's thing. I think I'm just really concerned that I'll get to skin to skin and breast feeding established as this didn't happen with my dd (midwives completely ignored my wishes Confused)

shirehobbit I've just got a close caboo too and love how simple and cuddly soft it is.

I'm very emotional too ladies. I think with getting so tired and running around after my dd my hormones are all over the shop. I'm very snappy at everyone at the moment which is not me. The reality of the pregnancy coming to an end, the birth, and a newborn has just hit me like a sledgehammer.

I'm also getting a teeny bit of SPD (had it terribly with my first pregnancy) but a fortnightly trip to an osteopath seems to be helping hugely.

My blood glucose levels have been great up until a week ago with a couple at 8.0 so I'm now having to be super strict with my diet when all I fancy is a bit of Cake

MundayCakes85 · 19/08/2014 19:20

Anyone watch The Zoo last night? Watching it on catch up and feeling like the pregnant elephant trying to get up off the ground!!

Kirstipops · 19/08/2014 20:10

Thanks Hobbit, I'm going to pick one of those up from JL tomorrow, reasonable price too! Meant to say it's feeling more like SPD rather than PGP. My mum sent my dad over with her back support wrap thing until then, bless them. It's the pressure down below with the weight of the bump that I'm feeling most, the hip and back pain tend to wear off.
And oh god yes to losing muscle tone, my thighs are a disgrace, I didn't ever think I would miss my shotputter-esque legs haha!

STIGZ · 19/08/2014 20:12

Did you call your midwife mrsb ?

mrsb87 · 19/08/2014 20:42

Just rang them stigz, they told me to take some paracetamol and wait an hour. If I'm still concerned to call them then. Fingers crossed!

OP posts:
STIGZ · 19/08/2014 20:45

Aw mrsb glad you called them .. Have they settled down any ?

mrsb87 · 19/08/2014 20:51

No stigz still bloody uncomfortable, the midwife of the phone suggest I had a bath to try and relax....its still in my inlaws garage! I told dh he needs to get a shimmy on with that on the midwife's orders! Hehe. Took my paracetamol about 10 minutes ago so just the waiting game now.

I am getting the pointy stomach thing too and I'm 5ft3 with quite a short torso. Also suffering from a bit of sciatic back pain and lower bump ache if I walk around for more than about 15 minutes. Restless nights have returned in full force so feeling very tired in the day too.

Bit of a stressful week so far as our boiler is broken and needs replacing. So that's an expense that we weren't banking on. Think we've found a good deal and good guy to replace it though and we should be back up and running on Friday. New carpets are coming on Thursday for lounge, nursery and our bedroom and then off on holiday on Tuesday, so looking forward to that.

Started to get bits together for hospital bag. Last thing really is to find a dressing gown and nighties for hospital and that will be ok for breastfeeding afterwards. Useful to know about Sainsburys discount. I'll check them out.

STIGZ · 19/08/2014 21:03

mrsb keep me posted, please please call them back if they dont settle .,, lol @ your bath being in your in/laws garage .. Did i read that right ?

gunwalloe · 19/08/2014 21:15

Mrsb I hope the pains settle down for you

Mrsbad have you been diagnosed long?

I weighed myself today and have lost 10lbs in the last two weeks I know I'm now eating healthily due to the GD but it seems to be dropping of

mrsb87 · 19/08/2014 21:17

Yes its waiting to be fitted but we have to plumb in the waste for the basin and move the shower cubicle before my beautiful bath can go in Sad
Thanks stigz I will keep you all posted x

Hope it settles down soon Mrs, I'll be thinking of you!

mum2kiss · 19/08/2014 22:24

MrsB I had an evening of braxtons hicks last week and they told me to call the maternity unit if they got up to 4 or more in an hour or if they became painful.

Kirsti spd and pgp are the same thing (well that's what physio told me anyway). A support band will help but you need to wear it every day to notice the benefits. It jut helps lift the weight of the bump a bit to give your pelvis a break.

My bump is HUGE...I have the pointy thing and I am 5 ft. Physio told me that if it is still pointy after baby arrives I need to come back and see them within the first 6 weeks

fedupofrainydays · 19/08/2014 22:28

Hope all ok mrsb laughing about the bath thing. My response would be pretty similar at the mo!

So my friend had her baby today. Called him Cameron. Decided I better get a wriggle on and think about names - DH says I have to short list 10 of each and he will narrow down to 3. 10?! I don't even like 10 names!!

It's my bday tomorrow. Will be one of only two sober birthdays since about my 16th! The other was when I was preg with ds and it was my 30th.

Happytimes31 · 19/08/2014 22:36

Hopefully seeing the Physio soon, what belts are people wearing. Have been using just a bump support band but that doesn't really support my pelvis.

MrsBadCrumble74 · 19/08/2014 22:38

fedup Happy Birthday for tomorrow Flowers
mrsb hope you are ok and the Braxton Hicks have subsided a bit
gunw I had gd with my last pregnancy. This pregnancy I've been monitored by the diabetic nurses and phone in my results fortnightly. It's only in the last week that my results have gone a bit higher. But the strict diet seems to be doing the trick so far.
I can't remember who mentioned this but a Gavisconholic too with a severe burping problem!! My dd thinks I am hilarious Shock

mum2kiss · 19/08/2014 22:49

I have my first hydrotherapy pool session tomorrow with the physiotherapists at the hospital. Hoping this helps the pgp although she did say it will be very achy the first couple of times! I get 6 free sessions on the nhs but she said they use their discretion and I will likely have them until due date.

I have belt the hospital recommend and sell but I can't remember the name right now. Remind me tomorrow and I'll post a link
