Fatfox, I am actually feeling a bit more chipper today, despite the cold!
I've been such a moany old bag so far on here, sorry, thanks for being so kind, it does really make a difference

pennygaff · 28/09/2006 10:21

I've got a cold too, not sure if pregnancy makes you more likely because your always a little bit run down? Anyhow driving up to see my folks in Yorkshire today, going to take bumps scan pictures so its going to be the subject of the day
Have a good weekend all

AmieR · 28/09/2006 11:22

Feel like a slight, light rainfall si running down the inside of Tummy, could this be first movements or an adverse effect from last nights meatballs?

kittywits · 28/09/2006 11:30
Grin
LaidbackinAsia · 28/09/2006 13:01

Afternoon Mad Marchers

Had my scan this morning - Was great to see everything looking good. Also they agreed they will do anomaly scan at 19 weeks so I can have it before I go back to Sri Lanka. Hooray !

Everyone else having a good day (exluding pee, piles and snot ??)

fatfox · 28/09/2006 13:03

Amie - deffo the meatballs!

Kitty - you're not "moany"! Glad you're feeling chipper today

anniediv · 28/09/2006 13:03

LaidBack, I am having a good day, 2nd vomit free day, although I resorted to the antisick pills again 1st thing. Glad you can get your scan sorted before you go off again.

evenhope · 28/09/2006 13:41

I've had a pain in my side on and off for weeks now. Yesterday it got so bad that I couldn't stand up. Rang GP surgery (at 2.30pm) and said I needed to see doctor urgently. Receptionist explained (as if to an idiot) that the "correct procedure" was to ring at 8.30 am. Yes, I said, I realise that, but I am in so much pain I can't stand. She then went on to explain that "doctor" only had so much time etc etc. I came off the phone in furious tears. She didn't ask who I was so for all she knew I might have had a burst appendix and been dead by this morning. I will be writing to the practice manager in the strongest terms.

Went to A&E instead (and what joy is that). Got there at 4.15 and left at 8.15. I have a urine infection, they think the pain is ligaments but it could be a kidney stone. Trouble is that the treatment for kidney stones can't be given in pregnancy. Gave me amoxycillin to "see what happens".

Then in the midst of all that my MW arrived to tell me my bloods had come back 1:24.

Today I stupidly went to work, got a blinding headache which caused me to be sick twice so I had to come home (not least because- as usual- I wet myself while throwing up ). All in all not having a good day

Rosylily · 28/09/2006 13:47

Hi everyone, heres hoping peoples sickness continues to subside!
Yeah fatfox I am a frazzle today. Got about 2hrs in the end! The accupuncture was for migraine and on an impulse I paid for 5 sessions in advance. I don't get the migraines in pregnancy though and the accupuncture is probably detoxifying me- hense the pain. I am dragging myself along to them. Think I'd rather remain toxic!
Wish I had spent the money on a cleaner. I'm too sore and wrecked to get on top of the house work and it just gets worse every day!
(moan, moan, moan)

Rosylily · 28/09/2006 13:50

evenhope ....much sympathy you poor thing!!!

kittywits · 28/09/2006 14:02

evenhope, how horrible for you, you poor thing. What will they do now about the test result? You must feel very anxious

Piffle · 28/09/2006 14:05

evenhope, what a ghastly set of circs honey

fatfox · 28/09/2006 14:06

Evenhope - you poor thing. Rest up until the anti biotics kick in. I feel really sorry for you. try not to worry about the bloods, 75% of bad results are false. What are you going to do next?

Rosy - I want to do a survey quickie:

How many people on here have cleaners?

We don't (can't afford it) and consequently our house is filthy and has been for the last three months, as I'm too tired to my normal cleans .

How about everyone else : Cleaner or nay?

anniediv · 28/09/2006 14:08

We don't have a cleaner (can't afford it). My dh calls me 'Mrs Treebis' (remember Mr Treebis from Life of Grime??!! The housework will still be there in a few weeks when I feel more able to face it!

divastrop · 28/09/2006 14:10

evenhope, that sound awful.my dodtors will fit you in if its an emergency.the very least they do is get the doctor to ring you,but then my doctors ids very unusual because the receptionists are actually friendly and approachable!
i hope you can get a rest and your day gets better

i woke up with pains this morning at the bottom of my pelvis and in my lower back and theyve been getting worse.i dont know if things are just stretching but i dont remember having any such pains this early in pg before.i have a m/w appt tomorrow anyway so its not worth seeing anyone about it today.

leogaela · 28/09/2006 14:11

Kittywits, your mum sounds nearly as bad as mine, I'll keep you upto date on some of the horrendous things she says as she says them, love to hear yours as well, makes me laugh and good to know I'm not the only one who has a horrible insensitive mother that only seems to be able to make me feel inadequate.

One of her classics - I got married 8 months pregnant, I wore a floaty top and trousers, she did my top up and I asked her 'so, how do I look?', expecting my mother on my wedding day to tell me I looked beautiful whatever, the words that came out of her mouth were 'oh well, that's the best we can do' , !

aaah, that's as far as I can manage reading for now... boss keeps walking past my desk!

divastrop · 28/09/2006 14:13

i dont have a cleaner,i couldnt afford anything like that and i dont think i'd want one even if i could.well, maybe if i had a large house
i would have a cook though if i won the lottery.dp does all the cooking but not without moaning so it would just be easier to have somebody cook who wasnt allowed to moan!

AmieR · 28/09/2006 14:19

evenhope - sounds like a miserable time, hope all goes well and you can have your questions answered when you have your appointment, I had a similar experience with my local surgery's receptionist not so long ago.

No cleaner, not sure I could fit that into the budget at the moment, though I would love to. Saying that I've not felt too bad to do the main bits of it yet.

kittywits · 28/09/2006 14:36

We have a cleaner/mother's help. I couldn't cope without her.

leo, oh it's good to hear these mother stories. I've got another for you.
When Poppy (dd1) was about 2 ,dp, mother and I were discussing how pretty she was. She has huge, brown eyes with spider like eylashes, honey coloured skin and thick dark brown hair.
(I know I'm biased, but she does seem to have done very well out of the gene pool !)
Anyway mother says as nonchalantly as you like to me " well, I don't know where she gets it from because it's not from you"
I think my jaw literally dropped open.
It's cracker :0

dollyp · 28/09/2006 14:43

Another quickie from me.

Evenhope - I am so sorry you are having such a bad time. Take care and stay in touch. I am sorry too about your blood test. I think it has been mentioned before but ARC is a charity which specialises in helping parents who are facing these terrible choices. Their phone no is 0207 631 0285
Monday to Friday from 10am to 5.30pm.

Thinking of you XXXXX

onilly · 28/09/2006 14:46

Evenhope - you are going to have to join the "Onilly fight crap GP Service". Bloody hell - what is going on ? Sorry to hear of results, but Fatfox is right - there is massive discrepancy with blood tests, it may not all be bad news. Have they combined the results with your Nuchal Scan - this apparantly provides a far more accurate reading...

Have woken up with the MOST stinking headache which has not gone. Paracetamal does stuff all for my aches and pains, may as well eat candy. I think I have overdosed anyway... I would KILL for Ibuprofen with Codiene (cannot spell today)

Sorry, you all know I am a princess. I have a cleaner. I adore her. Martina the Wonderful. I would seriously die if she left me. Its the best money I can spend. I do without other things - I think......

As to the fellow crampers - I too am in stages of intense cramping with the belly extending a little each time (of this I am convinced) I hate pain..... Labour is going to be awful, I hope they do great drugs.....

Evenhope - big hug. ()

LunarSea · 28/09/2006 14:49

kittywits - even I say "well, I don't know where he gets it from but it's not from me" about ds, who at 5 already has that classic athletic male body with wide shoulders and a narrow waist, and muscles you can actually see - along with the ability to eat anyting and everything witout gaining an ounce (total opposite to me - I only have to look at food to gain weight, and "athletic" is the last word you'd choose to describe me!).

divastrop · 28/09/2006 14:57

onilly-the drugs dont work!IME anyway.apart from gas and air.which i like alot and actually lied about the amount of pain i was in last time so i could get it earlier and enjoy myself.i was sat in the labour room all on my own laughing hysterically at nothing.it was great fun.

i have a sure start community support worker who comes to help out once a week but i leave her to play with Gloria while I clean

kitty-lol at ur mum again!when Megan was about 6 months old i was chatting to her, telling her how gorgeous and beautiful she was etc(like you do with babies)and my mum said'you'll give her a big head if you carry on like that!'
delightful.
