Hi everyone,

Feeling okay at moment,my main problem at the moment is if I get a hair near my mouth or in it,I feel sick or am sick.
Getting period type achs this morning-is everyone else getting these? Is it right to be stretching about now? Almost 17 weeks...

Onilly-Morning-we decided on Royal Berks bcause my husband was born there and for us is easier to get to than Wexham. Its 20 minutes down the motorway rather than around 45 minutes to an hour to get to Slough.

Back to work today after 2 months off,the children I look after have moved to a new house too so its going to be fun trying to find everything.

Happy Birthday Piffle

kittywits · 25/09/2006 12:41

happy birthday piffle

Thanks for helping out Fatfox, much appreciated. IS it me or am I coming up against some mad people? I really don't think I am, rude and arogant. well, maybe I am,

Rosylily · 25/09/2006 12:47

Happy birthday Piffle!

I didn't realise kids got piles either fatfox .It started ages ago when potty training, she held in her poos, she's stubborn and anally retentive like her father Was on lactolose for months. She gets a fissure now and when took her to the dr she said is was common in kids! She poos ok now but she still wets alot 2 years later, she's too busy to go to the loo! Her toileting is a whole other thread!

Rosylily · 25/09/2006 13:31

Kittywits, it seems everyone is attacking you on the smacking thread, but no-one can say its not a lively discussion!

Booboobedoo · 25/09/2006 13:40

Afternoon Everyone. And Happy Birthday Piffle! . Hope you're being spoiled by your family.

Evenhope: sounds like your DH needs a kick up the arse. Has he got any sensible mates you can ask to have a word?

Diva: where did you hear that balls-on-a-string story? Maybe Evenhpoe's DH heard that and got nervous.

Welcome shanks: nice to have you with us!

Fatfox and Diva: sorry to hear about your IR run-ins. They're not human, are they?

Happy birthday for yesterday eidsvold. There are lots of us Septembers, aren't there? My Mum claims I was conceived under a table at a Christmas party. Nice.

Pennygaff: had piles as a kid. I find anusol HC (with hydrocortisone to shrink them) is really good, but a shallow warm bath with salt in it is really soothing and helps prevent infection. Oh, and three words:

MOIST LOO ROLL.

Have decided to give up more teaching work to try and beat this exhaustion and sickness. DH getting in a panic about money, but I don't think I can keep it up.

Feeling much more cheerful though! Hope my fellow-miseries are feeling better too.

annaspanna · 25/09/2006 13:41

Happy Birthday Piffle. Wow so many birthdays in September.

Gotta start with the bad news i read from Lunar. What are you telling me I've missed out on SMP for 3 months for the sake of a week? (due 23/3/07) I am honestly really pi**ed off about this. It would have solved the child care issue for me money wise anyway. I missed out at work last year when i returned from materninty leave 3 days too soon for a grand in backpay. i have never suffered with moods of PMT but i imagine this is how it feels. I can feel a rage coming over me and i wanna strangle someone preferably the Inland Revenue - my employer Apologies to all you ladies getting overpayment letter from the Rev. It's not me honest.

The piles issue. I had it last pg but ever since I've had no pain really just itchiness?? Really embarrassing times too?? Anyone else?

Booboobedoo · 25/09/2006 13:53

Hey annaspanna: you're obviously human! .

I get the ol' itchy ring. Was starting to get paranoid I had worms, but am pretty sure it's a hnagover from my childhood emma freuds.

divastrop · 25/09/2006 14:19

happy birthday piffle

booboo-somebody at my ante-natal classes told me that ball string thing when i was expecting ds1.

fatfox/kitty/rosy-to what smacking thread ru reffering?is it the one that had about 800 rplies last time i looked?i decided i'd read it a t some point but ive been too busy looking over dp's shoulder to check if hes chatting to females on the online game he's addicted tohe's being very understanding but im sure that even a flicker of interst off another woman and he'd be straight out of here

annaspanna-ur very lucky to have never suffered with pmt.i only had half a life due to 2 weeks a month of total insanity.i want to get sterelised after this baby but im thinking ill just go the whole hog and have a sex change.

kiwibella · 25/09/2006 17:07

Piffle... Happy Birthday!! And, I totally agree with you, take a break from here and you are lost .

Booboo... . There's a story I bet you are proud to share Good on you for listening to your body. Kids are hard work - I wish I could take some time away from my school. We seem to have a few more nightmares this year!!

Penny... I'm noticing strange things with my belly button too but, thankfully, I'm not feeling ill with it! It won't be long before it's popped, I reckon.

Onilly... the holiday home sounds lovely. It's a shame that you have to halt the plans but I am sure you will feel better after a weekend of rest.

I am feeling really inspired after finally breaking the news to friends and family back home, over the weekend, and staff at work today. Everyone's reaction is so warm. I got a lovely email from MIL saying that we should refer to our "bump" (as we have been) as the new moko - which in Maori (dh's family are) means grandchild .

pennygaff · 25/09/2006 17:43

Shanks, I 've been getting period type pains over the last couple of days too I put it down to the stretching that must be going on down there, I also had them about 6 wks ago they are accompanied by extreme tiredness, Another symptom I am waiting to go away.
Thanks for the great piles debate; I will ask my doctor for your recommendations. So far I have eaten half a bag of prunes OMG they are disgusting.

pennygaff · 25/09/2006 17:44

pennygaff · 25/09/2006 17:46

kiwibella, Yes that buttons gonna poop.

pennygaff · 25/09/2006 17:47

or do I mean pop? think I do, sorry all I can think about is poo...

fatfox · 25/09/2006 17:52

On the subject of piles.......another tip for sufferers of piles - wipe your bum with baby wipes after you poo - it really helps with the itching.

Sorry if this is TMI. I had to sit on a coach back from Euro Disney once, for 11 hours with itchy bleeding piles Nice huh?

Anna - any tips on how to get out of Tax Credit overpayment poo?

ps. I get period type pains all the time but as long as there's no blood, don't worry

17 + 1 and pile free so far this pregnancy

fatfox · 25/09/2006 17:52

Penny LOL

fatfox · 25/09/2006 18:22

Kitty, no you're not arrogant at all,; just trying to have an honest discussion. Because some people can't win the intellectual debate, they resort to name calling. They may as well have said "you big fat cow"; its so childish

onilly · 25/09/2006 18:28

hi all - thought I would share the results of my Screening Research. This may be of some benefit to others as the timing is about right for us all.
As my NHS does not do triple screening I have gone through a private clinic www.leedsscreeningcentre.co.uk/ (cant work the link!)who run a slightly more sophisticated screen than triple test. This test will be COMBINED with my Nuchal Screening test to provide a much more accurate picture of potential chromosomal issues... I did not call Fetal Medicine yet, as I figure they are the next step....
This type of screening can take place throughout second trimester. I thought this may be useful for those of us
a) obsessed with such things
b) without NHS support on this
c) who prefer a non evasive further source of info (and who have a very vocal DH and mum on the issue)

oh that would only be me elWeirdo Onilly!

Leeds testing are sending me the kit by post and I will get my nurse to take blood and send back. Will let you know how I get on... oh, cost is £80.

Thanks Kiwi - our holiday house is actually "money pit from hell", is supposed to be a long term investment and is the outcome of much planning and saving.... DH fancies himself as a bit of a developer, so it works... for now.... The whole project was very exciting before baby, concieving was a big surprise/shock for us, so we have had to put alot of plans on hold for a little while (probably til retirement!)
Aware I am my own worst enemy for being tired, and should not moan so dont expect any sympathy!

Happy Birthday Piffle !

onilly · 25/09/2006 18:31

No piles yet, but still farting madly

Shanks - I think the cramping is normal - I have had cramping and backache on and off for few weeks now, feels like a stitch in my side and works its way around the tum. Very sore. Worse than period pains.....

kittywits · 25/09/2006 18:48

Thanks for that Fatfox, due to my mother's delightful influence I always look for the potentually bad in myself and always believe when people critise me.

Booboobedoo · 25/09/2006 19:19

Kittywits: was flicking through the SN-labelling thread earlier, and just wanted to say I thought you were making a perfectly valid point about the fallibilty of the odd diagnosis. We're human therefore we're fallible, surely!

Was far too chicken to post, as there were a lot of angry people on that thread. Can see why they would be over-sensitive, but didn't really feel they got your point.

annaspanna · 25/09/2006 19:28

Fatfox i would love to help with the tax credit issue. Its not my dept I'm afraid. Just to say that even Rev staff themselves facing overpayment crisis- Although i realise that probably doesn't make you feel any better. Sorry

I'm disgusted with how little care onilly is getting from the her midwife & that you are having to go privately just for a triple test. Down to the postcode lottery i assume. And i felt agrieved at no Nuchal screen available to me but at least i have triple test.

dollyp · 25/09/2006 19:49

Helloooooooooooooooo laydeeeeez!

Happy birthday Piffle, hope you have had a good day .

Prunes / figs etc are delicious when chocolate coated. Sainsbury's sell them as part of their christmas range so you might be in luck.

Am very cross on your behalf, Onilly, about the lack of care you are getting. Feel bad about my NHS rants now as we get a lot of stuff as routine here. Deeply envious of the place in Padstow though - have you been to the great man's restaurants down there? What are they like?

Loved what your MIL said Kiwibella - what a nice way to refer to your bump!

I am afraid I tend to give controversial threads a wide berth as I am too lazy / cowardly to get into a big argument. I have seen on some threads that people have tended to club together and almost turn on the person who dares to share a different view. I was quite shocked by a thread a few weeks ago where a woman whose child had been hit by her partner was quite viciously abused by some of the posters. I didn't agree with the woman's stance on the violence, as she was hesitating about whether or not to leave him, but I think she was dealt with very harshly at a difficult time.

Booboo - am definitely on for meeting up, but can't do Thurs 5th as I am moving house that day. Are you free on Thurs 12th?

Have had a better day sickness wise today and am hoping that it is on its way out. Who knows, one day I might even be brave and return to work . I bumped into one of my colleagues yesterday and she was visibly shocked by how pants I looked. Always reassuring. Am off for another scan tomorrow and then DD and I are going to have a good day playing. Hope I will be a little more patient than I have been of late .

Take care everyone XX

kittywits · 25/09/2006 19:56

Booboo Thanks for your view on things. Sometimes other people can be so horrible and be so illogical that they end up making me feel as if I am mad. there is one person in particular who harbours a real grudge. I couldn't work out why at all until dp reminded me about a thread MONTHS ago. I'd completely forgotton, she obviously hadn't.
The thing is I can't run away from these threads once I am involved as I don't want the people I am in "discusssion" with to think that they have seen me off. Just my silly pride, so I stick it out!

Sorry, I haven't written much and nothing preg related, that's because I've got nothing of intrest to say and wouyld bore you all senseless !!!
