Butterpuff · 14/08/2014 17:34

MyPandaisasecretmonster · 14/08/2014 17:40

Thanks Butter

m33r · 14/08/2014 17:45

Great news panda

coastergirl · 14/08/2014 18:00

Really pleased for you Panda

ZebraZeebra · 14/08/2014 18:07

Oh Fergie I'm so sorry, that's devastating. It's just not fair. I'm so sorry for you :(

eatscakefornoreasonwhatsoever · 14/08/2014 18:20

So proud of myself. Just eaten half a baked potato and 3/4 of a burger. That's my first not-wheat carb and not-chicken-or-dairy protein in a month!

woodlandwanderwoman · 14/08/2014 18:20

So sorry fergie, that's so cruel. Glad for you too panda x

Fergie11 · 14/08/2014 18:25

Thank you so much for your kind words. We are just devastated and trying to understand why us.

foscar we had no indication anything was wrong until this morning when I got old blood when I wiped. I had two early scans and both were measuring spot on. We will take time to recover and see if we can get tests to find out why. I will ask safra thank you xx

eatscakefornoreasonwhatsoever · 14/08/2014 18:26

Oh I meant to say. I had horrific stabbing pain high up in my side earlier. As in couldn't move talk or breathe. Just a random cramp or something to call the MW about?

headlesschicken247 · 14/08/2014 18:28

So sorry Fergie.
Glad your feeling better cakes

My ds has been a star today as well (apart from the fact we're on the 3rd run of cars). He even put his train set away before getting out the car mat. Made friends with a deer and had great fun jumping in puddles.

lotsoftoast · 14/08/2014 20:00

eatscake would I know you from any babywearing groups on fb? sntot, bwfsot or rmp?

ELA88 · 14/08/2014 20:05

fergie I'm so sorry, it's really not fair xxx

KeeperOfTheZoo · 14/08/2014 20:21

So sorry Fergie, seems particularly cruel when your early scan showed everything was ok Thanks. Look after yourself.

junkfoodaddict · 14/08/2014 20:36

So sorry to hear Fergie's news.
I went to my booking in appointment and basically 'all hell broke loose' tonight because of an outcome!
I had 'high' CO levels for a non-smoker. I mentioned it to MIL who was sat in the waiting room who then secretly panicked, called the gas people and they were at her house within the hour testing appliances!!! (Bit of background - she's always smelling gas, even when gas isn't present, like her old house in Norfolk which was all electric, no gas or oil!). Her home tested okay but then we got a call from the gas people too - despite us saying WE'VE NO GAS! But because we have an aga (oil), an oil boiler and wood burning stoves, we needed testing. Again we were fine (So embarrassed!) But then the senior manager came out half an hour later to talk to us. He reckoned that the hospital's CO monitor is faulty as even the journey to the hospital (literally across the road from MILs house) wouldn't be enough to raise CO levels. So the next test is MIL's neighbours - one of them is a terrible gossip, moody and won't let them in for fear of them being cowboys. It turns out though that their flue from their boiler is directed straight at MILs sitting room window! So we think we've found the 'culprit'. Hoping so because I really don't want to be re-tested for something I was NEVER bothered about. The scale of 3 on the monitor isn't a faily - just the highest reading for a non-smoker. A whole host of reasons it could have been - I am asthamtic and a bit chesty so thereofre could be harbouring more CO as asthamtics wheeze on breathing out less so breathing in and also I am notorious for low oxygen levels (always set off the alarms at hospital on the machines - last time my levels were 91% and they thought I had a PE. I was actually 'fine').
On other news from my booking in appointment, I am high risk and need consultant led care. All due to a one occasion of high blood pressure at 31 weeks, low lying placenta, restricted growth in DS, loss of fluid between weeks 36 and 39 then a rare reaction to the pessary which led to violent contractions, a placenta abruption, foetal distress (heart rate was

Rainbow555 · 14/08/2014 20:58

So sorry Fergie, devastating news for you.

PintOfTea · 14/08/2014 21:01

What a saga junk!

Fergi, so sorry to hear your news. How awful Sad Look after yourself, and I hope you get the answers you need. xx

I'm reading all the sling advice with interest. I wasnt intersted with DD, but I think mn and the power of hindsight has won me round this time. Silly question I know, but I would worry about tripping over, particularly in the street- do you feel secure/stable enough? Blush I felt weak and tottery for a good few weeks after the birth last time and my back was knackered, perhaps this isn't helping! I am determined to have one even for occasional use this time, I just need to work out the right type. I like the look of the soft wraps, looks much more natural. Hmmm, will have to do some homework.

Had a rather energetic day today, painting my house. God I'm tired!

Safra72 · 14/08/2014 22:17

My ds practically lived in a moby sling that I had borrowed. We will be definately buying one this time round, it was amazing.

Never ever felt I was going to fall over. Was not much different to being pregnant. Having him close was just lovely. Never got the hang if breast feeding him in it though.

And dh also loved carrying him in it.

fishfingerSarnies · 14/08/2014 22:18

Love a sling myself, I have a ring sling which is fab I only got it when dd was about 10 months though so not sure how good it is for the newborn stages, I have one of those stretchy wrap ones but it was a pain in the arse for getting on and off. Also have a stokke one which I pretend to love because I went on and on about it for so long untill my Mil got it for me... Wondering if new baby means new sling in which case I'd like an ergobaby or similar or the caboose.

I'm feeling so ill these days it's ridiculous I can't function, I'm thinking of going to stay with my mum next week as dh away for 3 months from next sunday but she lives up north and I have my booking appointment on the 4th and then probably my scan the next week and can't travel back and forth bloody train so expensive also sickness,a toddler and a largish puppy are not going to be great train travel company :-( don't know what to do, just so nervous of being alone with the fainting and sickness.

FoscarC · 14/08/2014 22:23

fishfinger is your husband military? Do you have any support networks near by? I can understand you wouldn't want to be on your own. I live somewhere different during the week to where my actual house is so am getting all my mw care here, but when I go on maternity leave I'll move to where I live at weekends which is in a different area completely and have my baby there. And they said they could just transfer my care over. So you could possibly have your appts up at your mums instead? Possibly?

fishfingerSarnies · 14/08/2014 23:00

No he's not military he's an actor. I'm going to ring the hospital tomorrow and see about booking in up north and transfering down once I'm feeling better or trying to move my booking in appointment earlier like next week and then getting the latest scan date I can so I can be away for as long as possible. I just never imagined I'd feel so ill, didn't last time, might see about getting something from GP for the sickness.
Feeling so down about the whole thing, yet to feel any excitement and if one more person suggests it's twins and that's why I'm so sick I might stab them in the eye. Ha

Sorry I shouldn't been so miserable I know I'm lucky to be pregnant and that sickness is supposed to be a good sign of things progressing, so will shut my winge hole.

Sweet dreams people.x

Pinksun12 · 15/08/2014 03:20

fishfingersarnies I used a ring sling lots when ds2 was newborn. You wear them on the front rather than your hip. If you search for newborn and ring sling on YouTube, you'll get lots of tutorials (or find a sling meet or sling library near you, even better)
Hope you can stay with your mum, I wouldn't want to be on my own either if I was feeling that rough!

madasacatter · 15/08/2014 03:51

rant alert!

I've been up for 2 hours listening to the joys of my OH snoring (I can still hear it with wax ear plugs in!)

Now he's pissed off at me?! He's gone to sleep in the spare room and I still can't get back to sleep :(

on a positive, I've looked up my local sling library as I'm so intrigued by the discussions about them. I never really thought of them as essential but they really do seem to be. Are there ones that are fairly easy to take on and off, I only know about the wrap ones you kind of tie onto you and that looks tricky

Pinksun12 · 15/08/2014 05:47

madasacatter my oh snores too...
There are full buckles such as the ergo and Manduca (and tons of others). S

Pinksun12 · 15/08/2014 05:50

Argh! Why do I keep on posting too early!!
Some are better suited for newborns than others so the best way would be to check with a sling library. There are also babywearing consultants who can give you a one to one introduction (or a workshop for your nct class for example).
