Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
junkfoodaddict · 14/08/2014 08:43

I have my booking in appointment at 1pm. I am 8 weeks + 3 days and to add to the age check, I am 35 but will be 36 when DC2 is born. Currently due 23rd March but because I ovulate early, may end up having a due date early to. DS's was brought forward by a whopping 6 days!!!

lotsoftoast · 14/08/2014 08:51

Good luck butterpuff!

After two days of relative rest from my nausea, its back with a vengeance today! I'm 10 weeks tomorrow so hoping the end is in sight in terms of the ms.

I also bought a bravado signature nursing bra yesterday as I like the body silk seamless ones. Well, you cant remove the breastpads in this bra, so my growing boobs have been given a significant boost!

Pinksun12 · 14/08/2014 08:56

Woohoo! Is butterpuff our first dating scan? Good luck! Mine is not until 10.9. When I'll be 13 weeks but going on hols to France tomorrow where my family lives and they checked at the local hospital for emergency scans so I might go there. Ms has nearly almost disappeared so a bit worried but I'm glad to see it's easing off for some of us now so hopeful baby is still there!

ZebraZeebra · 14/08/2014 08:56

Woah so much to catch up on - 12 pages! I think I'm all caught up, so much been going on. Sorry to hear about hospitalisations and nasty mothers and spotting...it's such a vulnerable time in our lives, we all need so much support.

I had to do an emergency trip back home with DS as my nana wasn't well. Horrendous train journey up north, tiring time visiting nana in hospital and upsetting to see her...but her face when she saw me was worth it.

Spoke to the ante natal clinic yesterday - my 12 week scan will probably be closer to 13, so in the next couple of weeks, and they're trying to get my booking in appointment sorted. I too didn't see the same MW twice last time. Barely saw a MW whilst in labour, to be honest!

bonkersLFDT20 · 14/08/2014 09:05

I don't really belong here, but the thread keeps popping up on most active topics.

I have 2 March babies (March 1999 and March 2009) so seeing a March due list makes me a bit wistful as I re-live the feelings I had in my early pregnancies.

Neither of my lists are MN ones, but both are very active and I've made some very good friends.

I wish you all happy and healthy pregnancies.

eatscakefornoreasonwhatsoever · 14/08/2014 09:06

Ugh. Feeling really sick this morning and I'm supposed to be doing my shift at breastfeeding support group. I may have to take my old pal the sick bowl in with me. Not sure I can get away with not telling anyone as they know I wouldn't go in if I had something contagious.

Oh god. I wish I could just be sick and get it over with

eatscakefornoreasonwhatsoever · 14/08/2014 09:07

That's lovely bonkers. Thank you x

FoscarC · 14/08/2014 09:12

I have a double belly by the evening time too. I have been getting a bit down about it as everywhere I read it says 'you probably won't be showing yet' and such things and I clearly am. And it's my first and l am 11+3 and was so fit and flat tummied before. And I'm worried I'm eating too much. When all you hear is 'don't eat too much, most women won't be showing for 16 weeks' and I can feel my uterus sticking out. And my tummy is hard. It's so reassuring to know it's not just me. And I am just trying to make myself understand that now is not the time to worry about fitting in my skinny jeans but to concentrate on looking after by growing baby. I've always had very bad body image and so find this hard.

JammyTodger · 14/08/2014 09:13

I guess I'm a bit sensitive about my age because I'm already the oldest mum at the school gate. My little sister is a grandma ffs, and I'll be 60 when this new one is just 16. Also, I had DS when I was 39 and I had so many comments along the lines of "at least you did it before you're 40". It makes me not want to tell anyone rhis time . Having said all that, I think being an older parent has lots of benefits, and other than what other people think I have no real worries. God, I've gone on a bit haven't I? I'm really looking forward to hearing what reactions the other "oldies" are getting.

FoscarC · 14/08/2014 09:14

Thanks bonkers that is nice.

Also, very excited about dating scan butterpuff you must be soooo excited. I have booked the whole day off as I won't be able to concentrate. My scan is first thing in the morning anyway, it planning on going maternity clothes shopping and out for lunch with dh afterwards to (hopefully) celebrate.

Surfsup1 · 14/08/2014 09:15

I lost you guys! Couldn't find a link to the new thread!!

Still here though. So sorry to hear about the early loses - I've been there so I can really empathise with that pain. Hugs ladies.

On a brighter note, anyone got any idea how far into pregnancy I'll be able to keep surfing? It's not problem yet, but I'm guessing it's going to get pretty uncomfortable and awkward, but I can;t remember what sort of stage that kicked in. Any other surfers on here? Tummy sleepers even?

Also, I smell Blush. I don't normally, and this didn't happen in my previous pregnancies, but I'm pretty sure I'm generally pongier than normal - what's with that!!??

ZebraZeebra · 14/08/2014 09:15

Tummy really sticking out, it's a proper bump - but it's second time for me so maybe things are much more relaxed. All my clothes fit, even my skinny jeans so I'n trying not to worry too much about weight. I've never been totally slim but always been fit and healthy but I know some stupid MW's put total stock into BMI, which is just stupid.

Really sick here too. Getting very fed up of it.

That's lovely Bonkers, such a nice message - thank you!

Surfsup1 · 14/08/2014 09:18

Jammy - you'd fit right in around here. The vast majority of the Mums in my DS's class are in their mid 40s and a number of them have had babies recently. I'm probably the youngest Mum (Yr1) at 37! Around my area the average age for a first baby is 38!!

DurhamRed · 14/08/2014 09:21

Morning ladies,

Another morning without ms, yay! Going to enjoy the relief while I can. The only downside is that it usually returns in the evening but at least I can curl up in bed and try to sleep. I'm grateful that it is currently mild and I am seriously praying that it doesn't develop into hg again...I don't think I could cope.

I'm 9 weeks today and can't wait for my dating scan on 4th Sept, can't come round soon enough!

Fergie11 · 14/08/2014 09:26

Good luck butterbuff

I have called my local epu and I have a scan at 1pm. I am sure everything is okay but I really needed it confirmation otherwise I would drive myself crazy!!

DurhamRed · 14/08/2014 09:34

Hi Jammy I'm 40 and this is my first pregnancy. I have not had any comments regarding my age yet and the people who I have spoken to have been nothing but excited and supportive.

To be honest I am not that worried about what other people think really. As long as our child is happy and healthy then what does age have to do with it? Smile

MyPandaisasecretmonster · 14/08/2014 09:34

Is anybody their ?

Not sure if this is normal. my stomach really hurts to the point where I'm almost crying , I also have horrid diarrhoea (sorry tmi) .
also all my skin feels bruised

Safra72 · 14/08/2014 09:41

Hey jammy. I'm also one of the oldest in my area/family but I think at 42 I'm far more aware of if than anyone else - I've had no comments from anyone re age so that's been fab. Also this is dc 2 for me -ds is 3 and will be 4 when baby is born.

I have noticed that I am far far more tired this time round though - this could be from running around after ds rather than working though!

FoscarC · 14/08/2014 09:42

panda not sure but as always if call your midwife or EPU as it doesn't sound very nice and it's not something I've heard of. Hopefully and probably nothing but not worth the risk of ignoring it I'd say. Hope you feel better soon.

PickledPorcupine · 14/08/2014 09:44

Foscar this is also my first and I'm only 9+1 and I've got a proper bump. It's so obvious that I've been avoiding going to sort my classroom out because if I see anyone they will know and then everyone will know. My brother came over and did a double take ''woah!! How pregnant are you??!!' And I was wearing baggy pyjamas. I fully believed I wouldn't show for ages as loads of things I read said if you're fit and slim your stomach muscles will hold everything in for a bit. Well they haven't and I'm massive!

Bonkers Hello! Lovely message Smile

Fergie Good to get everything checked, glad they can get you in so fast.

TakeMeUpTheNorthMountain · 14/08/2014 09:45

Morning! Im still here so far so good!

I booked a private scan last week and they cancelled! Told me they wouldnt have availability again till October. They are they only place in town too.

I did get my hospital app for the 1st Sept though!!

i feel like things are going really slowly, time is barely moving along. I wish september was here!

PickledPorcupine · 14/08/2014 09:46

Sorry cross posted panda. I had something similar a couple of weeks ago and I spent about 20 hours in bed because I felt so bad but then it went away and everything was fine. There's no way of knowing if yours is the same though so I'd call your EPU and see if you can get checked out. You know your body and if it's worrying you get looked at.

MyPandaisasecretmonster · 14/08/2014 09:52

I'll ring the GP & see what he advises

MyPandaisasecretmonster · 14/08/2014 09:54

Can I just ring the Epu ?

my Gp is going to call me back this afternoon so not much use Hmm

pinkandstripey · 14/08/2014 09:54

panda I agree with foscar, call some one to put your mind at rest xx

I came on to have a whinge :( feel dreadful today, in laws babysat last night so we went out for a curry. DP went a bit silly on the beer, so was acting like a child very annoying and then snoring and rolling around all night. Seems curry doesn't agree with me in my current state either, feeling so fat and bloated like I might actually pop. Ds is being very clingy today, wants to sit ON me all the time. I'm not coping with being clambered on :( sorry for whinge, I know I don't have it as bad as some of you :(

butterpuff good luck with scan, very exciting!!
