7 hours sleep!

SEVEN HOURS SLEEP!

Beyond exciting. I'm afraid that separate rooms are the way forward!

binkybunny · 31/07/2014 07:44

you lucky lucky thing goats (turns an envious shade of green)

binkybunny · 31/07/2014 07:53

Aargh hadn't finished typing!

I have one night of no sleep and one night of ok but broken sleep. 4 hours or so seems to be a good stint of sleep at the moment.

Going to the doctors today about my back and hoping I can get a referral or something so I'm not walking around like a crooked old lady!

ohthegoats · 31/07/2014 08:14

Yes, obviously no sleep night before last helped me get more last night. We'll see if the separate rooms/bath before bed/blackout curtains/hypno therapy CD while drifting off/not opening eyes when getting up for the loo (only twice instead of 7 or 8) works for two nights in a row.

Have everything crossed.

I'm having trouble sleeping too. I'm not sure why, I'm not hungry at night and don't need the toilet, I'm just tossing and turning. Grr, so frustrating being tired but unable to sleep.

I'm in a grumpy mood today, need a quick rant about house renovations. We're fairly near the end, mostly just a few small joinery jobs, flooring and decorating left to do and it was all booked in, but this week the joiner has decided he's too busy to do the remaining jobs so we'll have to find someone else which will hold up the decorating meant to be happening next week, and the flooring company have just announced that they can't get the laminate they were meant to be fitting next week, which will hold up all the other jobs downstairs. Aargh!! I know it's nowhere near as bad as the building work a lot of you are putting up with, but I just want it finished so I can start getting things ready for the baby. Rant over.

For those suffering from patchy sleep, last night I had two toast and a cup of camomile tea at 10.30pm (only two hrs after a big plate of gnocchi - oh well!), woke in the small hours needing a pee but this time didn't turn any lights on, kept my eyes as shut as posssible and resisted looking at my phone for the time when I came back to bed. I also wasn't hungry which I usually am when I wake up for the loo in the middle of the night. I got straight back into bed in the same position I woke up in and the next thing I know my alarm is going off at 6.30am. Success! Sort of - will have to see if the plan works tonight :)

ps does anyone get annoyed my colleagues saying, when you complain of difficult sleep, 'don't worry - you'll have plenty of practice in the next few months'! Ha ha ha.

JellyBeansHaveNoAgeLimit · 31/07/2014 11:34

feeling very irritable today & no patience with DS Sad On the plus side baby has been going nuts in there since last night, massive kicks & lots of rolls, makes a welcome change to hardly any movement.

Damn it i had forgotten about wanting monster munch last night & now i want them again! Will have to see if the corner shop sell them!

binkybunny · 31/07/2014 12:25

Fatpony yes it drives me mad because in the next few months I won't also be working 10 -12 hours a day and trying to function in a fairly high pressure environment!

Well I went to the doctors this morning and she agreed my back pain is too bad to be 'normal' pregnant back ache. She told me I had to self refer, so I called the number she gave me and the man on the other end of the phone told me as I'm pregnant I can't self refer I have to go through the midwife. I explained that the midwives weren't referring me as they told me it's 'normal' to have back ache in pregnancy, even though it is getting debilitating and he told me I obviously don't need physio then and to take the midwives advice.

After many tears down the phone, my lovely husband is trying to sort it out through his work healthcare to go through BUPA but I'm not sure if I'll be covered as they don't cover antenatal care in their policy :(

Looks like it's going to be 3 months of ice packs, paracetamol and pain. If I can't go through BUPA I'll be going back to the Midwife next week and refusing to leave until she refers me, but I was told this morning it can take 9 months for a referral anyway!!!

Feeling a bit at the end of my tether Sad

mum2kiss · 31/07/2014 12:31

What the hell?! I'm pretty sure a doc can override a midwifes diagnosis so call the doc back and say they won't accept your self referral! They can't just refuse to see you because the midwife says you're fine!!!

Kirstipops · 31/07/2014 13:37

I agree with mum2, get back onto your doc binky, what a palaver for you :(

binkybunny · 31/07/2014 15:00

I'm not feeling very emotionally balanced today as it is. A week of 11/ 12 hour working days and super stress at work, I could have probably dealt with it a bit better if it wasn't for work!

The doctor apparently can no longer refer to physio so going back to the midwife next week as they only do one surgery per week.

DH's Bupa doesn't cover me as it's classed as Antenatal care which isn't part of his package, if it carries on we're just going to pay. I just keep thinking of all the baby things I could buy with that money though!

fedupofrainydays · 31/07/2014 15:11

Random question - I have limited nice maternity dresses - is a silver sequin number too Christmassey for a wedding tomorrow?!

mum2kiss · 31/07/2014 15:12

What a nightmare binks. Surely the doc can put a note through to the midwife saying that he wants you referred for urgent physio!

fedupofrainydays · 31/07/2014 15:14

binky that's insane. I agree to go back to the doctor. Don't give up! Although I know that any extra stress / hassle is not wanted at the mo.

The builders just blew all our electricity and I can't turn it back on - freezer in danger of defrosting everywhere. Nightmare

ohthegoats · 31/07/2014 15:44

Don't open the freezer - should be OK for today at least.

I just found out that between next Thursday and possibly the following Thursday, I'm not going to have a useable bathroom. Apparently boyfriend is happy with a 'bog and a bucket, and showering at work'... he forgets that I'm home all day, and have the bladder of a pea. Nice.

mrsb87 · 31/07/2014 15:49

Goats my bathroom is going to be a bit of a nightmare too for the next week or 2. Luckily wr will still have a loo but the basin, shower and heated towel rail are being moved to put a bath in . We have good neighbours who have become friends so I'm hoping I can pop round there for a shower!

I guess I'll be going swimming every morning, and will memorise the code for the toilets at Costa coffee down the road! No downstairs toilet, yet.

mrsb87 · 31/07/2014 16:04

I'm not sure how he's expecting a 32wk pregnant lady to pee in a bucket!
I'm pooped, the working week is finally over for me and I can have a rest.

ohthegoats · 31/07/2014 16:26

I had a massively busy day yesterday, on not a lot of sleep. Today I have had loads of sleep but am knackered - feel bone-tired, and have that 'punched in the lady-garden' feeling which is basically leading me to spend a lot of time on the sofa. I'm doing some vaguely useful stuff, but mostly sitting and reading internet nonsense.

Kirstipops · 31/07/2014 17:06

fedup you could summerify the outfit with some bright accessories, metallics are in, so says my free Stylist mag I found on the bus....

Kirstipops · 31/07/2014 17:42

Goats I also have the tender, assaulted fanjita feeling today, wish I could have a bath!

mum2kiss · 31/07/2014 17:45

I didn't wear my support belt today and I was getting all sorts of aches and ligament pains! Won't be doing that again tomorrow!
