OMG yellow I think I would have had a total meltdown fingers crossed that littlewellies stays put for a few more weeks.
Gun I can't believe that there's a September baby already you sound about as organised as I am Grin
I did try and get organised and go and buy my double buggy it was out of stock! Will try john Lewis tomorrow.
I've been feeling very pregnant the last couple of days getting quite a lot of pain in my ribs thought my bra was too tight so undid it while watching tv then realised it made no difference still felt like I had a tight wire round me.
My nesting instinct has finally kicked in and I've been clearing cupboards and sorting rooms out dp has this week off work but seems to think he is going to be chilling out, ha ha not if I've got anything to do with it Grin

ExcitedCJ · 10/08/2014 23:06

Yellow look after yourself!!

Can't believe 1st Sept thread baby has arrived - eeek! Although I would really love my LO to arrive by end Sept, 2 weeks early would be just great as we have sold house & buyers get keys on 20th Oct! Be nice to have a few weeks before we have to get out!

My SIL gave me back my car seat & have hammock all washed & dried, so not much left to do! :)
Have all clothes washed & bought big knickers & more maternity towels on Friday night so pretty much ready for the off. Will pack my hospital bag at 34 weeks, another 3 to go. Won't buy my Colin Caterpillar or Percy Pig stash until then or I will just eat them!
Better finish my Juju Birth Skills book & refresh myself on Marie Mongan Hypnobirthing very soon. Lots to do!

Only 4 1/2 days of work until I'm on holiday & then only 2 1/2 weeks to go until I'm off for 50 weeks!! Can't really believe it. I'm not back to work full time until Jan 2016! Woo hoo!

It is all getting so close.

I think I read she was 37+3. The wee one is 6.5lbs, feels odd to be chuffed for someone I don't know hehe.

binkybunny · 11/08/2014 05:58

Wow yellow hope you can take it easy for a few weeks, can't believe how close we are all getting.

My nesting instinct definitely kicked in this weekend. All baby stuff washed, dried and hung/ away in drawers. All nursery furniture painted, just need to wax it and packed hospital bag basics, including some Percy piglets, (trying to forget they are there) still need more pads as only have one pack and a nursing nighty. I bought a giant size sleep shirt with buttons I think will be good for labour if I'm not in the pool. Only £7 from Primark so don't mind binning it when it gets messy.

Yesterday afternoon I scrubbed out the oven, usually an annual occurrence I have to force myself to do and I cleaned out the washing machine with disinfectant which I have never done Shock.

Wishing I wasn't at work today, had two good nights sleep over the weekend and a rubbish one last night. The weather is a real duvet and DVD kind of day too, sooo tempted to stay wrapped up in bed!

binkybunny · 11/08/2014 06:17

Just read the September thread, feeling awwww and OMG! The nursery might almost be ready but I'm not for birth. Still haven't got the hypnobirth cds Blush

fedupofrainydays · 11/08/2014 06:52

Sept baby was 'term' so that's a relief! Please don't panic me though girls - you seem so organised and I've not done a thing. Mostly because I can't as don't even live in our house at the mo. And I won't do til end aug / beg sept.
If I go into labour I've no hospital bag or nothing. But I genuinely don't know where anything is now - baby clothes etc. do you think I'm mad and should buy some? I'm 32 weeks. Should be able to get things ready about 35/36. Feel all panicky!

SweetPeaPods · 11/08/2014 07:00

Fedup the chance of anything happening between now and 36w is very slim. The chances of going into labour between 40 and 42 weeks is much much higher so I wouldn't stress.

I'm not planning on washing clothes or bedding, or packing hospital bags etc until I go on mat leave at 36weeks. I've got consultant at 34w regarding previous pre eclampsia so depending on what she says I might come home and start but doubt it as bp been ok so far touch wood
I don't like the thought of washing all the clothes and them just sitting there for next 10weeks and need to reorganise Ds1s wardrobe anyway!

My mum has offered to come and stay for a week to help me get organised, I'm not sure whether to suggest my first week of mat leave to help with washing etc, or when I'll be 38weeks to help with ds as I might be struggling?!

binkybunny · 11/08/2014 07:08

I wouldn't worry i just like to feel organised and we had bought over a load of stuff before the12 week scan Blush Also, if I hadn't done it this weekend I'd have been stressed out as the next few weekends are busy and my backs getting more painful, so thought I might not be able to carry baskets of washing in 4 weeks time.

Think I should be careful wishing of a duvet day. Finally dragged myself out of bed to start with cramps and an upset stomach again like Saturday night. At least I know they're not contractions this time!

Now back in bed waiting to see if they go away so I can make it into work.

mrsb87 · 11/08/2014 07:47

Loving this cooler weather today! I actually slept through the night. No getting up with heartburn or even to pee!! Good job I feel better as it's more sale prep today ready for tomorrow night.
I haven't done any washing yet, I have started packing up my hospital bag, so far I have 2 button up night shirts, beat pads, 2 packs of maternity pads, toiletries (the mini types that you get for going on holiday) big pants and slippers. Still a few bits to get.
I'm looking at sleeping bags at the moment and seriously considering investing in the merino wool ones. Anyone have any experience or using the? I find it hard to believe you can use them all year round!

ohthegoats · 11/08/2014 08:22

I did washing yesterday, mostly because the smell of other people's washing powder makes me feel a bit sick - and everything had come from my SIL, so smelt of 'them' if you know what I mean. I've had to put a load of it away in a suitcase, since there was far too much, and I know that when I open that suitcase it'll make me feel sick because of the smell. Weird, cos it's not a BAD smell, just a different one.

Since we moved in February we've had a nice break from cat shit on the front garden - in the old house it was REALLY bad, every day at least 2 or 3 new turds. Nothing here until the last week, then suddenly we've become a cat toilet. How does that happen? The whole area by the front door stinks of cat shit now... heave.

YellowWellies · 11/08/2014 08:59

Gun not sure what I failed by, the diabetes clinic isn't until Wednesday. Am eating low GI and have cut out sugar until then.

Am really impressed the first September baby was 37+3. On our last thread we'd had 5 before term!

I'm mentally preparing myself for another early one but bar the GD (which they induce for at 38 weeks up here) sods law I'd have ended up at 42 weeks and furious!!!

That's some list Sparkle and makes my hospital bag look very inadequate! I was trying to fit everything into a small cabin sized trolley suitcase but have realised I haven't yet packed bulky things like a nice fluffy towel. Might have to upgrade my hospital bag to a slightly bigger size.

I have also packed a second bag for things I'll need after birth. So have a small trial size pack of nappies in the main bag, but put the big pack in the bag to stay in the boot of the car. Also have things like extra sleepsuits etc. in up to 9lb size in there just in case she's bigger than the new born size I have packed.

Still need to get my star wrap, managed to pursuade dh into getting one as he thinks they look silly but I talked him round.

Still in bed today, dodgy tum has got the best of me and just don't have the energy to battle into work. 3 sick days this pregnancy (+2 before BFP) so don't feel too bad. Now only 11 working days left! Smile

LightUpLightUp · 11/08/2014 09:35

Hi ladies I know I'm a bit late but can I join?
30 weeks here!
Need to start talking to some other mummy's to be as I'm feeling a bit anxious at the moment.
Baby is measuring five weeks big and I really feel it. I hadn't seen the midwife in 3 months as it's my second baby. I haven't seen the same midwife more than once either so I'm feeling a lack of confidence.

The midwife I saw who measured me has booked me in for a GTT. I don't meet any of the at risk criteria I'm not overweight or have it in the family Etc but I am feeling guilty about everything I eat. Should I be cutting out certain foods before I even have the rest just incase? Five weeks ahead seems crazy and I feel guilty that he has had such rapid growth. They haven't refereed me for a growth scan or anything but midwife said it doesn't 'feel' like fluid but all baby. Has anyone experienced this?

binkybunny · 11/08/2014 10:37

Hi light up no advice to give but just wanted to pop on and say hello Smile

fedupofrainydays · 11/08/2014 10:38

I've almost finished my assignment - THANK GOD! Just hope I pass. Now when that's out the way I can focus on finishing work, the house renovations, ds going to nursery (got to name everything!) and perhaps think about stuff for baby when am back in the house.

Anyone know of any good name labels to buy?

hefner · 11/08/2014 10:39

Glad you managed to persuade DH on the star wrap binky I had one for dd and they are great, really useful (and cute!).

Hi LightUp, lots of people on this thread have had the gtt so I'm sure you'll get some useful tips soon.

I've just peeked at the Sept thread and enjoyed reading how they are getting on, until I realised that I actually belong on that thread as I'm due in late Sept, and panicked as I'm nowhere near as ready as they all sound! I'm similar to you fedup, I'm 33 weeks now and all the baby clothes are buried somewhere in the attic. I need to look through them to see how much I can reuse and what else I need to buy but I won't have anywhere to put them until at least 35/36 weeks. Suddenly feeling as if I'm leaving it all much too late!

hefner · 11/08/2014 10:42

Well done with the assignment fedup. I use a sharpie laundry pen to write dd's name on clothes labels rather than buying name tags. I've been a bit rubbish at remembering to label things though!

ohthegoats · 11/08/2014 10:45

I've had a eureka moment about house renovations in terms of being able to stay at home even when they start knocking through downstairs (probably around the same time I'm in labour - nice). I can sort our life out to be upstairs if I'm good and logical about it, so now I have a plan I'm on a mission to get things finished up there before mid September. Good to have goals.. or something!

ohthegoats · 11/08/2014 11:01

Sparkle - I'm using your list! You haven't got earplugs on there - if you're on a ward, you'll want them!

binkybunny · 11/08/2014 11:12

I'm so bored already of being in bed! Feeling a bit better and my stomach has settled down. My mum has ordered me to spend the day in bed/ on the sofa and get some proper rest which is probably the right advice, but I'm not very good at doing nothing!

ohthegoats · 11/08/2014 11:46

Binky - I did nothing yesterday. Well, one short shopping trip involving a drive right to the shop door, but other than that, I was out of bed late then on the sofa all day. I feel proper GOOD today. Less achey, less sicky, less grumpy. It's worth it. Find some telly to watch.

mum2kiss · 11/08/2014 11:55

I second the suggestion of labelling clothes with a permanent marker...iron on labels are overrated and fall off in the wash, and sew in ones...well who the hell has time for that?!

I need to start getting my shit together...I'm far too blaze about this whole thing!

So I finally have a buggy! If any of you are looking for something nice looking but not costing the earth check out the ladybird reba. It converts from carry cot to seat unit without having to have 2 separate units and the chassis is maxi cosi compatible. It was a frantic find as mil had picked out 4 for me to choose from and they were all ugly 12 years out of date prams. So I managed to find this one. Online reviews look good and I've seen it as cheap as £159 on some sites
