lol goats! TBF babies are pretty boring but your so in love with them that any tiny thing amazes & entertains you! Plus when they come to be toddlers they are tons of fun!

binkybunny · 07/08/2014 18:35

Goats like mrsb says I think when s/he arrives you'rd going to be so busy you won't have time to get bored. I have wondered if I will but my friends have all said it's the last thing I'll be! I keep wishing I'd done this that and the other before getting pregnant but there's lots of things we can still do just maybe not for a year or two.

can relate with being bored of pregnancy though. Would have loved to have gone for a walk tonight as we used to but apart from being knackered my back, hips and bump are so painful I struggled walking up the stairs Sad.

sazzlehopes · 07/08/2014 18:44

Ha goats! It's ok to be bored of the baby from time to time, they can be at the beginning. I like the from 1 year onwards phase...tonnes of fun and definitely no boredom!

YellowWellies · 07/08/2014 18:52

Some mornings in the first year when you have the same old fight to get breakfast slop in their wee mouths, the same old fight over nappy changes or wearing a bib, and a day of the same battles looms - I got bored. Get out of the house! Its much more fun out and about.

Kirstipops · 07/08/2014 18:57

Wondered this too goats, DH and I have both found other kiddies far more interesting when they're past the teeny helpless stage and neither of us are too confident holding/being with newborns so it'll be a new experience for both of us!
Anyone else feeling suddenly huge, and baby doing far more belly contorting kicks etc (i'm 33 weeks on Saturday)? Last night DH was highly impressed at the Thumper style wallops to my tum, think he has high hopes of having another drummer in the family now haha!

STIGZ · 07/08/2014 19:01

goats i was just thinking the same thing.. Out for my mums 50th, sitting at a table sore & uncomfortable and i havnt even eat yet!! ... Not to mention the two bottles of wine, that i want to grab off the table and down all one go !!! ...

Me23 · 07/08/2014 19:30

mum2 tell your sister to get a supervisor of midwives involved these are exactly the sort of issues that they are there to deal with.

Baby's right up in my ribs tonight ouch!

mrsb87 · 07/08/2014 19:42

Same here me! Bloody uncomfortable! BabyB wants KFC ..... oops!

I got bored too but this is definately sorted by getting out of the house or inviting others round for coffee. I found first 6 months hardest as he had bad colic and reflux but then he started to give more back around the 6 to 9 month mark and was more fun! Now he's 2.5 and hilarious! (Although so so exhausting) am never bored now.

fedupofrainydays · 07/08/2014 19:54

Oh and just discovered you can do a wee for free when pregnant at Waterloo!! In the loo that is not just generally in the station!
Was so desperate I had to go and then missed my train. Mean baby jumping on my bladder

BadgerInBury · 07/08/2014 19:54

Oh yes to suddenly feeling enormous Kirstipops. And heavy and achy too! I'm now calculating every little distance, as in "Do I want a Wispa enough to walk into the supermarket, halfway through it, up the aisle, back down the aisle, to the checkout and back out again?"

(Yes, I probably do.)

fedupofrainydays · 07/08/2014 19:56

Today at the office I got wedged at least four times between the printer and someone's chair that I had to pas through to go to the loo / get a drink. Just haven't realised how big I've suddenly got. Had a lot of those - you are huge comments today. Nice!

mum2kiss · 07/08/2014 20:20

Thanks for the advice ladies. me I have told sis to ask to speak to a supervisor as you suggested. This is baby number 6 for her so it would be herself and her husband with 5 onlookers! None of whom are medically trained to deliver a baby!

ExcitedCJ · 07/08/2014 20:38

Goats you won't get bored, as soon as you see the smiles around 16 wks or so & as soon as you hear the wee gurgle noises. I have to admit within the first few weeks there were days I was tearing my hair out wondering what I had done but I think that is because I had a crazy reflux baby. You definitely will not get bored when you LO is 3 ish & has a crazy personality of their own & entertains you & is your best wee buddy!
It is all great.
I'm with you on being bored of pregnancy, if I could sleep it might be fine but I was awake from 2am - 5am & then did a full day of work & now have killer heart burn so jelly & fruit was my dinner!!
My DH announced to me via text today that we would be homeless in 8 weeks time as he had agreed with the estate agent that we would hand over the keys in that timeframe. I am due in 9 weeks!!!!! Apparently it is my job to phone estate agent & tell them we won't be out until end Oct! My DH is not so D today!!

YellowWellies · 07/08/2014 21:04

Yes a reflux baby = never bored. Knackered from pacing the floors / driving round all night / being screamed at for 8 hours a day / squabbling with your DH out of heartbroken stress / losing your sanity / going to any desperate measure to stop their pain and get some sleep - but definitely not bored! Once we cut dairy and soy and got him on meds it was wonderful to have those cute newborn cuddles and smiles that his pain had prevented. I'm dreading that period from 4-12 weeks when CMPI rears its head (if! pah.... more like 'when' in our family) and before the bloody docs take you seriously and give you decent meds (omeprazole) that work not useless infant gaviscon.... Gah.

Oh and I have got GD which is nuts as I'm feeling much better and more energetic this pregnancy!

YellowWellies · 07/08/2014 21:24

At least this time we're in a big enough house that we can take turns pacing with the baby out of earshot downstairs whilst the other gets a few hours sleep. Last time we were in a tiny cottage

Kirstipops · 07/08/2014 21:43

Sounds like you had a proper nightmare Yellow :( Is your little guy still intolerant to dairy and soy?

YellowWellies · 07/08/2014 22:02

He's managing small quantities of soya now (and was by 6 months so I could finally have a Chinese!) but still reacting to dairy. Fingers crossed he'll outgrow it in the next couple of years though. I can't wait to see him taste cheese Smile

STIGZ · 07/08/2014 23:13

Just wondering if anyone has the "line nigra" yet ?

I had it last time but no sign of it in this pregnancy ?

ExcitedCJ · 07/08/2014 23:18

STIGZ not me, didn't have it last time either.

YellowWellies · 07/08/2014 23:26

Stigz I'm the same as you.

Yellow DH says I have but it's faint, I can't see so taking his word for it.

Buggerlugs I feel your pain. Also unable to sleep. My back and hips hurt so much when sleeping on my side I end up on my back then wake up gasping for air. I'm managing 2-4 hours per night which is making me a lovely ray of sunshine to be around.

and no it's not decking good practice for when the baby arrives as I won't have to spend 9-10 hours being clever and creative when I finish work Angry

Anyone have any tips on how to sleep on your side? I have so many pillows in bed now DH is running out of space!

binkybunny · 08/08/2014 06:22

Sorry stigz asked about lina nigra. Yellow reflux sounds horrid, hoping you don't have to go through that again.

fedupofrainydays · 08/08/2014 06:44

I can only sleep well on my side with my theraline pillow. It's fab. Without it everything feels so uncomfy and unsupported.
