Sorry, the bit about breast milk bags was meant for Happytimes, not sparkle!

binkybunny · 05/08/2014 15:39

stigz sorry to hear about your uncle. I highly recommend yoga and meditation. It got me through a period a few years back when I felt I couldn't cope with a personal situation.

sparkle I'be also got my sister's wedding at 33 weeks and I've just bought a lovely linen french designer dress in a size bigger than normal and is a little bit stretchy. Don't just look at maternity gear, I was starting to despair as I hated the cheaper dresses but didn't want to spend a fortune on a maternity dress I'll wear once. This dress will be really easy to get altered to wear when not the size of a whale so I didn't mind paying a bit more!

fatpony · 05/08/2014 16:22

Sparkle- have you looked at heavenlybump? (www.heavenlybump.co.uk). They are the only other ones I can think of that do maternity stuff but I haven't bought from them, only Seraphine and Gap so far.

Happytimes31 · 05/08/2014 16:26

Thanks hefner will keep an eye out for some deals!

mum2kiss · 05/08/2014 17:10

I used lansinoh milk bags...now having flashbacks of dropping a bag of precious milk straight down the sink (this could make a grown man cry!)!!! I don't remember using/storing huge amounts of expressed milk though so I think I only used one or two packets...mind you we weaned at 6 months so maybe that's why we didn't need so many...

Took Dd to splashabout at the local pool today...now absolutely exhausted! Forgot to get meat out of the freezer for dinner so Dd and I just shared a pasty lol! That should tide us over until I can rustle something up!

ExcitedCJ · 05/08/2014 18:35

Stigz big hugs. Xx

fedupofrainydays · 05/08/2014 18:50

Ok not the fault of our builders (for once) but how can something (the doors) we ordered in grey turn up in black???? And the builders have fitted them. Not sure how much more angry I can get. Toddler tantrum. I don't want black I want (and ordered) grey!!!!!

Sorry. Blush

fedupofrainydays · 05/08/2014 18:50

Sorry stigz totally trivial compared to what you are going through. Big hugs xx

STIGZ · 05/08/2014 19:33

Lol fedup no worries ... If i got black instead of grey i would be bloody fuming... I just went through something similar when i recently moved house with my carpets ... Its a disgrace when you pay a fortune for a service and they cant get it right??? Wtf is going on ? It makes my blood boil so i know how angry you must feel !

Thanks for all suggestions & kind hugs ... You lot are nice bunch ... Wish we could all have a mad booze up when all baba's are here safe & sound(",) .... Now that would be an intresting night indeed xx

fedupofrainydays · 05/08/2014 19:49

I was just thinking how I needed a 'proper' drink squiz!! I feel so much rage!! They were mega expensive too as are the expanse of bifold doors to our garden. They have a lead in time of at least 4 weeks so of we want to get the grey ones it's going to delay our work (unless we just carry on with the black ones and replace with grey when the turn up) til end of sept. Just too close to due date for my liking.

DH is at the pub so not good at dealing with my irate phone call... Annoyed he's there as we are supposed to be moving out tomorrow and know he will come home when I want to be asleep and ask me to pack up various bits and bobs. Major rage all round Angry

mrsb87 · 05/08/2014 19:56

Ah stigz I'm so sorry to hear your news. We had a family scare last week. My brother has had Hodgkins lymphoma twice and found another lump last week. Luckily it's just a tiny hard hernia! Phew.

binkybunny · 05/08/2014 20:10

mmmmm wine. Could just drink a bottle Grin Wine

fedupofrainydays · 05/08/2014 20:13

Me too. Jealous of DH at the pub. At least he's pulled himself away from his pint and checked... We definitely ordered grey!

ExcitedCJ · 05/08/2014 20:38

STIGZ & you guys I was on twitter last year & went to a local twitter Christmas dinner (with my single friend, I was wing man!)/piss up! We all used our twitter names on name badges, it was a really wierd but strangely fun night!
Obviously we have been much more involved & supportive of each other over the months so I'm sure a mad booze up would be great craic.
I'm seriously craving Mexican food & heaps of Margarita's!

YellowWellies · 05/08/2014 21:03

I still meet up regularly with the Scottish ladies in J's MN antenatal club and nearly two years post birth we're still chatting on MN and FB. If you think we're close now wait til we all cheerlead and hold each others hands thru birth, feeding worries, sleepless nights, weaning, teething, poorly babies, walking and talking! I've had so much help that I've never had to open a baby book - there's always someone to answer a question or offer a suggestion. I love it! I can't wait to see pics of our babies and find out names and see personalities develop Smile

STIGZ · 05/08/2014 21:41

Wow mrs b ... Hodgkins lymphoma is the cancer my uncle has!! ... So so glad that your brother is ok & the lump was nothing sinister xxx

mrsb87 · 05/08/2014 21:56

I was more scared than he was, he was just fed up as they've finally got round to moving house after being made redundant previously and chemo whilst SIL was pregnant. Things do eventually pick up I promise. My dad died of cancer 7th are ago too plus losing grandparents in that time. So I know what you mean about it feeling never ending!

Are any of the Scottish ladies planning on going to the mother and baby show in September? DH gave me tickets last night he'd bought them on Itison a few weeks ago and had got VIP tickets for £9. It includes a goody bag, refreshments and massages. Not sure if the deals still on but worth a look Smile

FrauEnglischLehrerin · 06/08/2014 09:26

Mrsb, that sounds like a difficult time. Good to hear that your brother's scare wasn't anything serious.

I'm 29 weeks today and had my first CTG appointment at the drs. With dd I had a ctg every week from 28 weeks, this time my dr is on holiday and I don't have to go for the next one until the end of August. They don't do that in the UK, do they? Personally I think counting kicks is more sensible, but it's typical of the German healthcare system to go for the more medicalized approach.

Had a scan as well, the baby is head-down (hooray) and on track to be 6lbs plus a bit. All looking good for vbac so far.

Yellow, that support from your previous AN thread group sounds fab. I didn't discover MN until I started ttc no.2 - I could have really done with online friends last time round as I really struggled with loneliness, having recently moved to a new town. I guess it's about time I got myself onto our FB group - could someone PM me about how I do that, please?

BingoBango85 · 06/08/2014 10:12

Anyone else suffering with sciatica? Going to see gp later as it's making me miserable & the pain making me feel sick. On a positive note, buggy/car seat arrived yesterday. Smile

fedupofrainydays · 06/08/2014 10:16

Ugh. Heart burn very bad last night / today. Not helped by rubbish night sleep due to rain coming through light and on to our bed!!
Moving out tonight for a few weeks thank god.

ohthegoats · 06/08/2014 10:42

I just woke up - well, half an hour ago. How amazing! Have started dosing myself up with rennies before I try and sleep. Am also surrounding myself in pillows, one under the bump particularly - it stops me rolling onto my stomach, which in turn stops the kid getting squashed and kicking me until I wake up... which then means a toilet trip, and being wide awake. Didn't even hear the boyfriend leave. Very weird! But great.

SweetPeaPods · 06/08/2014 10:48

Hi can I join?
I'm 30+4 i think with ds2. Ds1 is 14m.
Starting to get more real now and worrying how I'm going to cope with 2, but I'm very excited too!

JellyBeansHaveNoAgeLimit · 06/08/2014 10:55

Another rubbish night here, DS woke up at 3:30 until 4:30 for no apparent reason! He's off at nursery now though so at least I can relax a bit. Glad you got a good nights sleep goats, it makes such a difference!

I just scoffed a waitrose chocolate eclair followed by a whole packet of bacon rashers all washed down with a glass of diet coke and I don't feel the least bit guilty Grin. Ok maybe a teeny bit, don't worry baby I'll feed you vegetables later!

STIGZ · 06/08/2014 10:58

I am too glad we will have this thread when we are dog tired from nights feeds!! ... The first time around when i was sitting at 3.30am crying because i was so tired, it honestly felt like i was the only one going through it.., i know that sounds crazy but i tended to feel sorry for myself when i was sleep deprived(",) and felt like it was never going to end sometimes... So i am so glad that all of you will be sleep deprived, hormonal mad women like me come october :):):)
