Goats, you crack me up #jizzyboobleakage

Kirstipops · 04/08/2014 17:52

Yes it's when I wake up in the morning I feel it worst mum2, due to enormous bladder I still don't wake up in the night needing to wizz (I know I'm vvvvv lucky with this!) so I'm mostly sleeping through until a couple of hours before my alarm and then struggle to get back to sleep with the back pain, tossing and turning like a big mournful heifer. It takes your breath away sometimes doesn't it, I sounded ridiculous this morning, grunting and moaning like a disgruntled ghost as I moved around for the first couple of hours! Had my first 3 hour driving lesson today, luckily the pain was gone by then, the lovely instructor made sure I got out to stretch my legs now and again though.

mrsb87 · 04/08/2014 17:57

I'm just getting constant leg/hip ache from lying on my side. I really can't get comfortable however I lie!

Snort at stray boobjizzleakage! A classy bird after my own heart.

I never leaked a drop in either pregnancy or when feeding and I had pots of milk. You might just have v efficient boobs 2ndwife. Leakage in pregnancy has no correlation with BF success.

YellowWellies · 04/08/2014 18:26

Oh I slept thru last night because it was the first time in a week J has (since he was poorly). My bladder needed scaffolding to get me to the loo after 9 hours kip!

ohthegoats · 04/08/2014 18:32

I'm jacked up on a V pillow + two others just to try and limit the heartburn - also keeps me from rolling onto my stomach (I still wake up like that sometimes though). But yes to hip ache and dead arms.

PunkyBubba · 04/08/2014 18:50

Delurking twice in one day, I must have too much time on my hands

thanks FedUp I am always about even when I don't post messages :)

Anyway, missus, I second what yellow said about boob leakage in pregnancy not relating to ability to breast feed. When pregnant with DS I didn't leak one drop, but had an abundance of milk when the time came to breast feed.

I bf DS until he was 9 months old.. I think once bf was established the thought of having to make up bottles just felt like too much effort when you could just flop a boob out when needed. By 9 months though I did want my body back, and was starting to get a bit irritated/resentful.. And then DS got teeth and started to bite which is when I knew it was time for me to stop. It is such a personal decision though and different for everyone. I'm hoping I can do it again, and can get to 9 months again but will take it as it comes.

binkybunny · 04/08/2014 18:54

I'm actually hating going to bed now as it's soooo uncomfortable both in bed and waking up the next morning. The last few mornings I have woken up on my back gasping for air and all the pillows I used to prop myself with are either on the floor or on top of DH!

Off to start packing my hospital bag now but still so much to get. I don't have nursing bra or mighty, just a huge nightshirt for actual labour. Also want some mini toiletries, a dark fluffy towel, and a star wrap for going home as well as sports drinks/ gels more huge knickers!

Captainmcgraw · 04/08/2014 19:17

Another one here who had no boob leakage and minimal breast size change in pregnancy last time. However when my milk did come in there was an abundance and my boobs pretty much tripled in size over night (hello unsightly stretch marks) so agree there is little correlation.

Had scan today and baby is breech. Head is just above my belly button and my bump around that area is so tender - I was in agony in the night every time I accidentally touched it. However breech isn't a problem as I got the date for my c-section today 23rd September (so we are section date buddies Gunwalloe) !

The only thing that is worrying me is the fasting element. Consultant said to fast from bedtime the night before (including water) but as I am low priority to expect to be last on the day so might not go into theatre until 3pm. I can hardly go an hour without food (let alone water) at the moment without wanting to faint so can imagine how much fun that will be at 39 weeks in a hot hospital. She did say if I was worried maybe I could get up at 3am and eat something - definitely going to do this. Anyone else had ELCS before and how did you find the fasting part of it?

queenasanti3 · 04/08/2014 19:25

Hiya everyone, well 9 weeks left here for me and iam beginning to think of a little outfit to bring my little one home in, so was just going to buy two baby gros one for a boy and one for a girl, ive go my eye on a lovely little sister one, but finding it hard to find a brother one. After searching ive found one but have got myself all confused by what it says on the ftont so a little help needed think iam just beeing dozy.
My question is do you think this baby gro means the baby wearing it is an awesome brother or does it mean the baby wearing it has a awesome brother Confused

Kirstipops · 04/08/2014 19:37

I'd say it's that the new baby has the awesome dude for a brother :)

queenasanti3 · 04/08/2014 19:49

Was thinking that myself the second time I read it, think I got a bit excited because I seen brother, oh well back to shopping around thanks for your opinion x

ExcitedCJ · 04/08/2014 20:16

I'm in bed & about to attempt to go to sleep for the night! Wish me luck with that!

JellyBeansHaveNoAgeLimit · 04/08/2014 20:36

sweet dreams

JellyBeansHaveNoAgeLimit · 04/08/2014 20:38

argh damn phone, that was supposed to have a Smile next to it, looks a bit rude on its own sorry CJ!

gunwalloe · 04/08/2014 20:49

Yay captain I'm also worried about fasting but I suspect I will go in early in the day due to it being a third cs and due to the GD if they leave me to long I will go into a hypo.

I've heard of mums being put on a drip to give them fluids if they are waiting around a while

Evening ladies...well I'll be 30wks in Thursday & god, I'm getting uncomfortable & ungainly! Bending down is a real struggle...& not helped by DH working late so I had to get 2 kids bathed & ready for bed. This is going to sound really resentful, but I would love to be able to work late wgen I need to but can't as I need to do the nursery pickups...not sure DH actually gets that sometimes!

Well you ladies spurred me on to start thinking about my Hospital bag...ordered stuff from amazon last night! I second/third dextrose tablets...I didn't want to eat first time around so mw made me take them when contractions were slowing down...helped loads. Then I practically lived on them for the 1st 24hrs after my second! My snacks consisted of lots of isotonic lucozade, bottles if water, 4 pack of snickers & eat natural bars...I am taking loads more in if I go to hospital or stocking up at home if I go for home birth!

Question for ladies with more than 1 already...are you putting other children in childcare whilst on mat leave? I kept up DS in nursery with I had DD as he loves it & gave me some time with just DD & I. More financial harder with 2 to consider, but think I would like to maybe do DS 2 days & DD maybe 2 mornings a week...any thoughts from experienced mums?

YellowWellies · 04/08/2014 21:28

I'm keeping j with the CM for 2 days a week for as long as we can afford it to give me time to bond with number 2, get some jobs done!

Cheers for the glucose tab suggestion, I forgot to put them in my hospital bag last time.

fedupofrainydays · 04/08/2014 21:53

Ds is going to nursery. He starts a new one in sept - 3 afternoons a week and one full day. We get the 3 year old funding in Jan so makes it much cheaper. First term is steep but as I get 3 months full pay we can afford it for first term.

granny I also do the pick up and the DH just works as late as he wants. I too feel a bit miffed by it as sometimes just another hour would mean I would have finished that job. Turning the lap top on again once ds is in bed is hard. I don't do it much now I'm preg as just too tired but I used to a lot!

fedupofrainydays · 04/08/2014 21:57

Re car seat. The isofix base thing is really useful in my opinion. Getting the seat out in one swift move was fab. I couldn't be fannying around with a seat belt. But that may be just me. We have the maxi cosi pebble too.
I think once it clicked in to the base you know it's all fixed and safe, whereas with the seat belt I would be constantly faffing whether it was on right, tight enough etc!

fedupofrainydays · 04/08/2014 22:02

captain they will put you on a drip if you are waiting a while.
My last pregnancy was suspected ectopic and I was in hospital and told to fast in case they needed to do emergency surgery. I felt terrible as was early preg and only thing that stopped me feeling ill was food. They put me on a drip and I did feel better. Also my friends baby was breech and also left all day having not eaten since midnight the night before. They out her on a drip too as she ended up not having it by 9pm they sent her home!! (She had it first thing next morn)

YellowWellies · 04/08/2014 22:11

We had a non isofix car so had a seat with a base which stayed in the car. It made it much easier. After he was 4-5 months the seat just stayed in the car as it was too heavy to carry him in it and he could cope better with being woken / we weren't as desperate to keep him asleep as you are with a newborn! Smile

Grannyapple · 04/08/2014 22:14

Yeah fedup that's exactly it...I'm working full time this week & just staying back that extra hour means I can leave on time later this week. And yes turning laptop on at 9pm is mare..

Yeah DS gets funding & we get childcare vouchers too but nursery is still fecking expensive!

Missus2ndwife · 04/08/2014 23:17

Thanks - good to know my boobs are not abnormal.

I went for the maxi cosi pebble & isoflex base. If I remember correctly, the pebble is the improvement on the older version with added safety. I also liked the idea that the base tells me whether it's in place or not with the green lights. It looks pretty easy to install and the package is about £70 cheaper through kiddiecare at the moment.
