Last thread nearly full.

Will we get to meet any of these babies soon?

holls I don't think you're being wet, it's hard enough sleeping well when you're heavily pregnant without being in a different bed.

ilove if it's just streaks within the mucus it's almost certainly related to the sweep and your cervix being irritated, I wouldn't be concerned at this stage. Just call your MW if it continues or the amount of blood increases.

Baby is really low and causing immense pressure down below today.

KatharineClover · 15/08/2014 10:20

Baby was 3/5 palpable at my appt yesterday (36+1) - is this early to start engaging for baby no.2? X

ilovemonstersinc · 15/08/2014 10:44

Onlyseven thats what I thought. And if it happens again or gets heavy etc will defo ring. I bleed a lot after delivery so dont want to bleed before too

Team sounds like she has moved! When is your next scan?

If anyone is interested, the statistics for baby names in 2013 England / Wales have been released by the ONS this morning.

ONS Baby Name index of contents

Infographic of top 50 boys names

Infographic of top 50 girls names

Useful tool for data above (which has been updated)

ilovemonstersinc · 15/08/2014 10:44

Katharine baby can be drop and come back up again. That stops once they are fully engaged iirc.

This one is a bit more fun!

TeamEponine · 15/08/2014 11:17

I really think she has moved, it is whether she is head down!!! I have a scan on Tuesday, so we will find out then.

Really interesting to see the name stats for last year. We had a name picked out for a girl before we even started trying, but it is interesting to see how its popularity has changed.

Do others have names picked out ready for baby?

RedToothBrush · 15/08/2014 11:29

Dr Google tells me babies can down bum first. Which makes sense, as if they come out breach they have to move down at some point.

That doesn't really help you does it Team!

DearDinah · 15/08/2014 12:44

Still breech :( I'm over 37 weeks so chances are she's stuck that way, section booked for the 1st. Not sure if I'm relieved or devastated!

TheOnlySeven · 15/08/2014 12:45

We think we've settled on Elizabeth. She was going to be Ruby but after seeing the list I'm glad we settled on something else instead. I also love Sofia but DH wasn't as keen.

TheOnlySeven · 15/08/2014 12:47

Sorry dinah, I'd still keep trying the positions to turn her though, I've heard of babies turning head down right up to the last moment. In a way it must be nice to have a final date set though.

DearDinah · 15/08/2014 12:50

Devastated is a bit dramatic! Disappointed perhaps!

TeamEponine · 15/08/2014 13:10

Oh Dinah, sorry to hear that. I guess at least now you can plan for the section. The thing that's driving me nuts at the moment is not knowing whether she will turn and what type of birth to prepare for.

I can understand disappointment, but baby is clearly just so comfy sunggled up in you they are not wanting to move! No harm in keeping going with the inversions though!

TheOnlySeven - nice name choice!

DearDinah · 15/08/2014 13:42

team Tuesdays not far away, do the movements feel different? All my little tickles are in my groin & big surges well up high, can also see big balls where her head & bum are, plus the heartburn is killer now, which from what I've read isn't helped by having her head so close to my diaphragm.
I'm a bit concerned about going into spontaneous labour, they said they don't like to leave it longer than 39 weeks but the earliest appointment they had for me, put me at 39+5, if I labour early it'll be an emergency section.
We've chosen Evelyn Rose, DH's mum was called Lynn & we lost her in February, she always said she loved the name Eve, our dedication to her, although she'll be known as Evie. Rose was DH's choice, because he saw a nice Rose in the garden! Lol

Congrats to cookie! Can't beeline some of you are having babies already! Well 36+1 today and finished work yesterday! Feels very surreal that we're gonna have another baby next month! I have terrible SPD at the moment have just started physio so really hoping couple of sessions help before I go into labour, cannot cope with the pain anymore!

Love your name choice dinah that's so lovely in memory of your Mother in law too :)

How's everyone else doing? Good luck to anyone who's being induced soon!

I have my works baby shower tonight, looking forward to playing some baby games :)

Teabiscuits · 15/08/2014 15:12

You never know dinah, baby might still turn, I have heard of people going in for their section to be sent home because baby has turned (although that must be awful as well once you have geared yourself up for it). Beautiful name choice.

I'm an Elizabeth . Although I got given the nickname Lily at about a week old and now no one calls me Elizabeth ever! It's a lovely name, that unfortunately never suited me!
(I'm pretty sure that won't out me here lol)

Had another doppler scan today, blood flow all ok so induction still on for Mon. Hot water and washing machine both decided to break yesterday. Typical! We rent though so it's all down to the landlord.

Hope everyone is ok today X

TeamEponine · 15/08/2014 15:29

The movements feel similar in terms of frequency and the type/size of the movements. But they do feel like they are in different places. It may just be wishful thinking though!!! We will see on Tuesday...

Loving all the names people have picked Grin. So exciting!

Tea - I was talking with someone the other day about how many nicknames Elizabeth has, and we were debating whether Lily is ever used!!! Good luck on Monday Thanks

I have been watching it since it came on one born every minute!

We've chose a name for the baby

OP posts:
holls2000 · 15/08/2014 17:08

since I have been on holiday I have watched an episode of one born every morning before I get up. without fail, I howl.

back really bad today - just left ribs and this burning sensation front left ribs. have had a lie down with an ice pack which has helped. roll on weds and seeing the physio.

BexBoo12 · 15/08/2014 17:15

Holls I've had that burning sensation in front of my ribs at times, what is that?! Drives me crazy.

Lovely names picked I see Smile we haven't picked one for definite, we like Joseph, Jacob and Thomas but are not set on any yet. His middle name will definitely be james as that's my father in laws name.

Ella I love obem, and I have old episodes recorded that I watch if I can't find anything I fancy. I cry most times I watch it!! I just can't wait til they hand me my baby, I imagine nothing else comes close Grin

Ella I am also waiting for the nesting to kick in. When I get in from work all I want to do is sleep, but the house is a mess. Finish next week though, so maybe once work is over something will happen!

I only started watching OBEM when I found out I was pregnant. Not quite sure why, I think I wanted to know what would happen, and now I have to watch it. I do find myself crying all the time though haha.

We have 3 boys names and 3 girls names, keeping the options open Grin. Just checked the stats and none are in the top 10, but that doesnt help us narrow the choice down!

Inbl00m · 15/08/2014 18:55

Are any other FTMs worrying about handing their baby over to other people? For some reason I'm really struggling when older relatives, etc., go on about how they'll be coming straight round for baby cuddles. I just want to tell them to back off. AIBU?? Confused
