..for some reason a prodigy tune came into my head, smack my bitch up....Confused hehe

CoolCat2014 · 09/08/2014 20:35

Hi all, just checking back in, been a crazy few weeks, with having just moved house, DH was away for two weeks, freezer died, finished work, then got a load of jobs through for my part time business! Feeling wiped as I haven't stopped, and everyone keeps coming to visit.. Love it but feel like I've got so much to get done.

Hope everyone is ok?

Good luck Top!

polkadotdelight · 09/08/2014 20:44

I haven't posted in I don't know how long either. Have now started maternity leave, annual leave for a few weeks first and by god I was ready! 34+3 today and I am huge, he is measuring 2 weeks ahead with midwife and 3 weeks with ultrasound although neither are that reliable. I think people are taking bets on me going early purely because I am massive and I'm bloody uncomfortable too.

Someone my mum knows had her baby 2 days ago at 33 weeks, I've seen facebook pictures (gorgeous baby) and although in scbu he looks full term. Needless to say this has spurred me on to get my hospital bag ready, 1 for me, 1 for baby but I want to get some flapjacks/juice in there to finish it off.

Just to add to everything we have finally had an offer on the house and so will be moving at some point!

I have been following you all here and hope to post more now I'm on leave (in hetween batch cooking etc!).

cookielove · 09/08/2014 22:02

Hello all, wow top exciting times. Good luck :)

I would love if it was me next, only 33+4 though, but the amount of back pain I am in am ready to ebict him! They also said he is 5 and a half pounds which is a nice little weight!

Dh bought his own version of a change bag without talking to me first, I'm so proud!

TeamEponine · 09/08/2014 22:11

Oh, I wonder how top is getting on?

If anyone has a kiddie are near them, it is well worth a visit. They are closing down and absolutely everything is on sale for between 20% and 50% off. Some real bargains!!! We picked up a fantastic looking nursing chair for £83 that was reduced from £130, plus a few other bits. Grin

Went to the NHS active birth class today. Was a bit disappointing really. I've also booked onto the breast feeding class, but now I'm not so sure whether to bother.

dontevenblink · 09/08/2014 22:50

No news from top? Hope everything is going wellThanks I too am another who is feeling excited!

white have you done your naked moonlot dance yet? Grin

dontevenblink · 09/08/2014 22:52

that should be moonlit obviously...

BooSurprise · 09/08/2014 23:10

Good luck top just catching up today. I'm 35 weeks today, and although uncomfortable, I've had a premature baby before, so I'm hoping the full moon doesn't work it's magic on me, that and the fact DH has gone out to the pub, I do wonder if he even considers how pregnant I am now!
I could be ready for the baby, but in 3 more weeks I will be properly ready, having done my massive list of jobs-well I hope anyway [hmmm]

bugoven · 09/08/2014 23:23

Just catching up too..... good luck top X

EllaBella- I feel for you. Our fridge died in the middle of a heatwave whilst DH was away, I nearly lost the plot :(

Anyone else struggling with insomnia? I can sleep for 2-3 hours when I go to bed, but then wake up so uncomfortable and hungry, and then can't get back to sleep for ages. Maybe my body is training me for night feeds. Get so tired I. The day now, and DH doesn't quite get it I think!

ilovemonstersinc · 10/08/2014 04:23

Anyone up? Getting contractions every 4/5 mins lasting a min or so. Quite intense now been like this all night. But ds is poorly and want to get him checked in rhe morning if I can help it

TeamEponine · 10/08/2014 05:52

I'm up! Sounds like a phonecall to hospital might be needed? Five minutes apart, lasting a minute and painful is when I was told to go to the hospital. Sorry to hear your son is poorly. Thanks

KitKat1985 · 10/08/2014 06:16

I second that you need to call the hospital ilove. I know it's difficult with DS being poorly but contractions every 4-5 minutes are pretty close, so I think you should get checked out. xxx

dontevenblink · 10/08/2014 06:25

How are you doing ilove?

Aisha18 · 10/08/2014 06:39

Hi all...I have been lurking on the October thread for the last 8 months and since Thursday when I got my c section appointment I have realised I am actually September. C section scheduled for 26th. I was comfortable about the idea of a c section and ever since I have got the date I've been waking up in the night panicking about not being able to care for my baby, not bonding properly, baby being taken away in the night in hospital, sharing a room with someone I don't know in hospital...not being able to walk...anything imaginable I have been panicking about! I wonder if any of you have experience with c sections or are in similar positions? Any advice/input greatly appreciated...sorry I haven't read back all of the thread to see if this has already been talked about! Xx

cookielove · 10/08/2014 07:57

Hello aisha this is my first so I will bw useless regarding any info like that!

But welcome all the same!

Is anyone else suffering from extreme back pain, not sure if I have spd/pgp or just back pain, but I know I need help! Gonna try and get an emergency dr appointment tomorrow!

polkadotdelight · 10/08/2014 08:11

Ooooh ilove and TeamEponine how are you both this morning?

Aisha I'm having my first too. I think it's normal to be having wobbles. My current big concern is feeding him and sleep deprivation, oh and this huge responsibility for the next 18 (and the rest!) years. Along with 'is he healthy' etc.

polkadotdelight · 10/08/2014 08:12

cookie Ive been very lucky and only get an ache in my back if I do too much now so I'm really sorry but I can't say anything helpful.

ShyGirl1001 · 10/08/2014 08:14

Hi Aisha,

My SIL had a EMCS with her first, and she didn't have any problems bonding with baby. She did find it hard that she wasn't able to wash her though as she only had a seat to go in the bath. You could maybe look into getting one if those baby baths on a stand if you're worried?

Hope things are going ok ilove?

TeamEponine · 10/08/2014 08:47

Oh I'm totally fine! Just insomnia for me Grin. I rarely sleep past 4am, but I can't blame it on pregnancy as I've struggled with insomnia for a while now. I'm thinking that this might be beneficial once baby arrives. Luckily DH is a night owl and can easily stay up until 2am, so we're planning on working shifts!!!

Welcome Aisha!

Wonder how top and ilove are getting on...

CumbrianExile · 10/08/2014 09:17

Morning ladies. I had a great sleep last night, the first in a long time, and no getting up for the toilet in the middle of the night (which in itself is a miracle!) so feelin good (for now!).

Welcome Aisha, sorry this is also my first so no real advise.

Good luck ILove - all this baby news is very exciting Grin

TheOnlySeven · 10/08/2014 09:17

topsy I've had 3 at 35 weeks so don't rule out being next entirely, at this stage it could be any of us.

boo how early was your prem baby?

Hi aisha.

How far along was ilove? As far as I'm aware the cut off point for not trying to stop labour is 35 weeks, can't believe we could have two babies on the way already!

ilovemonstersinc · 10/08/2014 09:19

Im dilating yaya Grin
only 1 cm buuuut he waa -3 at last appointment and so the pains are actually labour pains. Ive been sent home to eat, have a bath and come back if anything gets worse or they continue.

I dont dilate quick so the fact something has happened is brilliant!

cookie my pgp in last preg started with back pain, do def worth getting it checked out, if it is that I would really recommend an osteopath appt, as that really helped mine.
aisha I've had 2 sections and about to have my third! It is sore but after about 3-4 days I found it more than manageable, you do need to be a bit careful about what you do for longer, but bonding/feeding/general baby care isn't really a problem with a little help. A friend had forceps and a tear, and she was in a much worse state for longer than I was!
ilove hope you got seen or things settled and top you haven't updated us, as you're enjoying newborn squishy cuddles.
We're hiding away from the weather today, I'm up with the other 2 as usual, DH is too tired do he's got another lie in again Envy I'm so booking a girls weekend away next year and leaving him with all 3 kids......hope he enjoys it Grin
