Thanks ladies xx Smile was so relieved this morning when I called the hospital

White we also ordered uppababy but it hasn't arrived yet; we wanted taylor which was out of stock , what colour is yours?

i also quite liked Britax affinity, it is very similar to Uppababy

Question for all yummy mummies : what is important when buying a changing bag? I didn't even want to buy one; wanted to use one of my old big bags, but everybody I know is buying one so maybe it is necessary? So many of them; so many types and big range of price... So not sure what to look for...

holls2000 · 05/08/2014 09:15

waiting for growth scan and to see consultant. you would think that after the amount of times I have been in here and done this I would be cool as a cucumber. I'm not!!

holls2000 · 05/08/2014 09:44

nazly - no idea on changing bags. a friend has bought me mine and as she has just had a baby I am trusting her instincts!! cant wait for it to arrive!

scan showed baby bigger than average. now waiting for consultant. weight gain depressingly huge.

lilone1234 · 05/08/2014 10:09

holls hope consultant appt goes ok and doesn't get you too down! My baby is also measuring big and I have growth scan next week but as long as we both seem to be doing fine in all other ways I am not worried! Scans and midwife measurements are notoriously inaccurate having heard the stories of others.

Nazly I ordered the mothercare essential changing bag - plain black satchel type with changing mat and insulated bottle holder. I reckon it will do the job for some nappies/wipes/spare clothes. If I want a massively expensive, nice looking yet impractical bag then it will be in the form of a handbag for myself - just my opinion! I wouldn't be surprised if I ended up just putting things in my own bag rather than carry two bags all over the place.

However, mothercare have not delivered this yet. I know people have had nightmares with mothercare furniture delivery but I thought they would be ok with small things but apparently not. Placed order 30 July and it says 3-5 days delivery. 4 working days later and it has not even been dispatched yet! Complaint coming their way soon...we also have ordered our carrycot and car seat from them - all my last bits are in mothercare's hands!

ilovemonstersinc · 05/08/2014 10:59

Holls try not to worrg too much about size. Ive had lots of growth scans and at 35+5 baby qas measuring 40+5 including head circumference!

That was last week!

Bit of a [confusion] ? Ladies. ..
this morning woke up to fresh red dried up blood on bump which smelt like periods Confused any ideas?

ilove No idea, sorry, but sounds like a call to your hospital contact might be an idea?

I've just ordered a whole load of bits (nappies, wipes, maternity pads, etc.) to be delivered tomorrow as I had a minor panic last night about how unorganised I am. Shock The nursery is sorted enough and I have enough clothes and blanket type bits for an early arrival, but it struck me yesterday that I have none of the bits and pieces that you seem to need!

Plan for this weekend is to put together my birth plan, make my hospital bag list and start packing if I don't spend the weekend being lazy and sleepy.

holls2000 · 05/08/2014 11:10

So.....baby also breech. Have scan 2 weeks today but looks like she is thinking it will be a section.

We are going to a wedding next week. I feel like a whale. I look like whale.

Ilove, have you caught yourself on something?

ilovemonstersinc · 05/08/2014 11:17

Thanks team. Will ring if I dont feel any better. Feel pretty shit.

Holls how many weeks are you? This baby has been transverse a few times and then normal lie and then transverse. Last scan was fine though at 35 weeks

OP posts:
TeamEponine · 05/08/2014 11:54

holls also, is this your first baby? At my growth scan yesterday (I'm 33 weeks) the baby was breech, and the midwife said not to worry too much at the moment. She said for the first they tend to turn at around 35-36 weeks, but for subsequent babies they can turn almost at the last minute!

holls2000 · 05/08/2014 12:00

Phew! Am 33 at mo. Got feeling consultant wants section due to size! We shall see.
All the excitement has exhausted me...time for a snooze!!!

TeamEponine · 05/08/2014 12:41

ilove just had a thought, but might you have had a nosebleed during the night? I've had a couple of quite bad ones in the past few weeks, and usually then happen when I wake up.

holls If you're only (only!!!) 33 weeks then it sounds like there is plenty of time for baby to turn.

ella Glad you're feeling better, and exciting to be getting the decorators in soon!

I'm really struggling to be productive at work since getting back from my holiday last week. On one hand I'm in a panic over everything I need to get done, but on the other hand I'm working at such a slow pace and procrastinating so much. I really need to get a grip and plug away at it all Sad

TeamEponine · 05/08/2014 12:42

*they happen Angry

ilovemonstersinc · 05/08/2014 13:01

Team Im up a few times in the night and ds wouldn't sleep last night so was up for a while and theres no blood at all any where else and losing more mucus plug

very bloody confusing!

Hmm how odd ilove - I woke up the other day with what look like a couple of grazes on left side of my bump about where baby likes to kick. I wondered if baby can give you bruises/grazes in this way maybe.

Nazly I've got this changing bag: www.mamasandpapas.com/product-ellis-shoulder-bag-pink/490390900/type-i/

Got that one as I love pink and its on sale at the mo £29 reduced from £45 so quite a reasonable price I think. I agree with lilone, no point in spending loads on a changing bag.

cookielove · 05/08/2014 18:49

Hello all,

Argh this is all getting scary real!

I am avoiding getting a changing bag as I think work may be buying one for me, they keep asking what I want and I kept saying nothing well cake but they won't buy me that but if not I'll get one closer to the time!

top your link just went to mama's and papa's for me not to a bag!

we are planning to get this for storing nappies in

I am really struggling at work, back and bumo pain all the time when I move!

velvetlilithi · 05/08/2014 19:13

Checking in after loooong time again and have had a lot to read from you lately Smile.
Sorry to hear about all the nursery and job problems! This is the last thing we all need at this time. Hope you all get some good resolving soon and can focus on enjoying last weeks of pregnancy and looking forward to baby.
I expect hubby to change job soon as well as it’s really getting him down and he’s so fed up there. We work at the same place and he’s been so angry lately when he’s been watching how they treat me during pregnancy and how much stressed I was because of it.

You all little bit scare me with the searching of nursery already when baby’s not here yet. Maybe I should start checking as well. Don’t know how is it in Scotland where I live, if it’s the same busy and waiting lists? Hope not as I still even don’t know how long I’ll be at home with baby and after that we would like to try sharing care with my hubby at first (I at home while him working and he at home when me working).

Topmammy .. Explain your hubby that nursing chair is not waste of money as it’s not going to be used only for couple of months! It’s like a classic comfy chair, just adjusted for feeding. My hubby didn’t think we need it either, but I explained to him that with this chair in baby’s room I don’t need to wake him up at night and I can go to sit in baby’s room and breastfeed there. Before baby is born, we have the chair in our living room and even hubby admitted it’s really comfy and he loves sitting there and rocking himself. AND he can’t wait to sit there and feed our baby Smile Hope yours will understand it’s not just something for a short time and it’s definitely not only for you. He can enjoy rocking baby to sleep as well.

whiteblossom · 05/08/2014 19:13

Evening, Naz I went for Mica, silver with black frame. Glad you found your notes- you would think they would have rung you!

Cookie never in a million years would I transfer nappies from packet into a holder, far too much faff/time consuming Grin

top that link worked fine for me, Im planning on using the free boots one until I know what I intend to put in it.

Ive spent all day batch cooking and now Im so shattered I could cry, Its been hard, hot work! Im off to bed very shortly. On the plus side my mum has emptied my ironing basket, I didn't think it was possible- its like mary poppins handbag Grin

Dh came home with three boxes of fresh cakes from a bakery...yes three boxes!! 12 cakes in total...

cookielove · 05/08/2014 19:25

white I don't have any space aside from underneath the cot to store the nappies so I need to store them within reach! It would be this or in the cot!

velvetlilithi · 05/08/2014 20:35

I’m 32+3 today and have had a lot of tightening and hardening of the bump. I’ve had quite hard couple of days at work, very busy (still getting the busiest shifts-but only 2 weeks 4 days left at work) and some strange sharp cramping pain in lower abdomen, it was shooting to my back and right hip as well. Started on Friday and was about once an hour or so but irregular. Thought it’s just me being overworked. On my walk to work on Sunday it suddenly started again and repeated almost every second step. Just as I got to work I just turned away and slowly walked back home! Didn’t stop for a whole day and sometimes was really strong and painful, so decided to call hospital midwife to check it. They wanted to see me so after getting there was waiting for 25 minutes sitting there waiting when 5 midwives right next to me finish their coffee break! After that finally was put on monitor to check if baby’s okay and somebody started to care why I was there because when I called they didn’t even make a note why was I coming. This little bit disappointed me, I had better opinion on hospital care from midwives.

After about an hour they tested my urine and found out it’s an infection. As they said, the pain should be from it, but don’t know. So taking antibiotics, still getting that pain with hardening of bump and only hoping baby didn’t decide to come out yet. Too soon for him!

Anyone else had similar pain?

Have an mw app on Thursday so will finally find out position of our little boy. Hope he’s getting ready for the right one.

Sorry for that long post Flowers

Lottiedoubtie · 05/08/2014 20:37

Hi all, sorry I've been absent for months, haven't been able to keep up with the thread(s). So far enjoying the third trimester much much more than the others - although I am seriously knackered!

velvetlilithi · 05/08/2014 20:40

cookie Oh, I have the nappy organizer!! Can recommend, it really holds a lot and is very practical. I'll be using cloth nappies so used it for them and there is a lot of space for nappy cream, muslin squares, wipes and others.
Just can happen that the sticking pieces come off and all fall down if not attached properly

ilovemonstersinc · 05/08/2014 21:00

Quick post look on ebay for nappy changing bags

Top thanks for the tip, I like your bag; The sale price only applies to pink though :( Other colours are full price 55 or 60 :( I like pink but Mine is a boy and his pram is dark blue so wouldn't get it :(

Velv I was just going to ask everybody about pains too :

can somebody tell me if BHs are supposed to be painful? I have been getting them all day; this morning at work they were strong enough that I got worried and prepared my whole handover document within 2 hours and tried to clear my desk to some extent- instead of working... Which is busy now... Then I left at 3 instead of 5:30-6 I normally leave; came home and slept ... I got a lot better then; but still I get very mild pain with each BH...

I am 36; so still early , no? And also I don't feel my bump dropping down as yet... I would know if I was in labour, right?
