Hi,

I've finally got my BFP and want to find others who want to chat and eat cake whilst being excited about cooking our little dragons.

I am 31yrs old, just got my BFP for #2.

Come in and sit down for the next nerve racking 9 months :)

Morning all, hope everyone is well today?

I've started to feel nauseous this morning, hoping it won't progress to being sick as I work in a tiny office and it would be impossible to hide!

Finally going to see DP tonight for the first time since the half hour in shock after the BFP-he's been away on business-it will be so nice to be able to start getting excited together Grin

Twittwooo · 06/08/2014 08:27

Morning, can I join please? I think I'm about 7 weeks now but not too sure, as my cycles have been a bit all over the place since coming off the pill earlier in the year. The last cycle before BFP was only 20 days! I have one DD so this will be our second, if all goes well. Prior to DD I had two mcs, so it's always in the back of my mind, but fingers crossed. Feeling very nauseous and getting terrible headaches constantly. Yesterday the pharmacist sold me some ginger capsules but I'm a bit wary of taking them - has anyone tried these? Good luck to all of you waiting for early scans or news.

cinnamongreyhound · 06/08/2014 08:29

I worked in a small lab with 12 people evenhasawatermark and was committing several times a day for 8 weeks and no one knew!!

I tried most things Dancestomyowntune, eating little (three bites) and often helped. Drinking as much water as I could without making myself feel worse and sleeping as often as I could fit in made it bearable and I also found swimming helped. My friend found eating something before she got out of bed helped her and loads of people swear by ginger. Someone here mentioned taking b6 too. My mum is a twin so there the risk for us too. I haven't heard that about the mirena, have you googled it?

cinnamongreyhound · 06/08/2014 08:32

Congratulations Twittwooo, x-posts!! Pharmacists are usually pretty careful with what they give you, did you say you were pregnant?

dancestomyowntune · 06/08/2014 08:35

i have googled, and it appears that opinions are split Grin

however, there does seem to be quite a few sets of twins born to women just off any hormonal bc, so maybe there is something in it. my sis thinks its hilarious!!!

cinnamongreyhound · 06/08/2014 08:40

At least someone does!!! We would be screwed if I have twins! I'm a childminder so any children I have take up my spaces and so reduce how much I can earn. Ds1 will be 8 just after this ones due so no longer counts in my numbers and ds2 will start school in sept so I'll then have 2 under 5 spaces but with twins I'd only be allowed 1 other under 5 which would be disasterous for us!

GinRickey · 06/08/2014 08:41

Morning, mind if I jump in? I'm 34 and just found out I'm due with my first on the 7th April (I reckon). I had a mmc at 12 weeks almost 2 years ago followed by two years of nothing so I'm kind of unbelievably terrified...

Feeling sick, boobs are sore and I've been getting those weird stretching cramps. I had such a weird cycle this month though that I hadn't managed to put it all together until I took a test last night to put DH's mind at rest and the line showed up before I'd got the cap back on the stick.

dancestomyowntune · 06/08/2014 08:47

well i wouldn't mind twins but it would be a challenge! we already have 8 in the house (me, dh, 4 kids and my parents) two more might be a stretch! that being said we wont know til next week i guess Grin

evenhasawatermark · 06/08/2014 08:49

Cinnamon, there are only 3 of us in the office and you can hear when someone wees on the loo Blush I am trying to ward the sickness off with ritz crackers! Forgot how much I are last time-hope it's not going to be another 4st of weight gain with this one!

evenhasawatermark · 06/08/2014 08:50

I ate, not are

Smileyaxolotl1 · 06/08/2014 09:08

Congratulations to all the newbies.
Feel a little icky this morning. I am half enjoying the supersonic sense of smell thing, though it might give me away. I was at my parents and said I can smell burning and it was because the iron had been on ... For about 2 seconds!

Twittwooo · 06/08/2014 09:14

Thanks cinnamon, and congratulations gin. I did tell the pharmacist I was pregnant, it was in Boots, but I've been madly googling since and can't find anything definitive about the safety of ginger capsules in pregnancy! Probably a bit OTT and I should just take them! Although this time round I'm sure the headaches are worse than the nausea.

bluefreckles · 06/08/2014 09:19

Morning all

So I took a glass of Fybogel this morning to try and ease the bloated'ness I've been feeling.

Big mistake! Within 2 minutes of drinking the disgusting stuff I threw up 3 times.

I haven't been sick until this point. I hope it was the Fybogel and not the start of sickness.

Needless to say, I'll never drink that stuff again!

Does anyone have any tips to help the bloated feeling?

catellington · 06/08/2014 10:52

Aargh bluefreckles sounds grim, bad luck! I do have had a dodgy tummy, not exactly bloated but ...bit of diarrhoea yesterday. Last time at about 6 weeks pg I had really bad diarrhoea for a week, was actually signed off work by the doctor for the first time ever in my life as was doubled over and terrified it was a mc. She said it was norovirus but I have wondered if it is my body's reaction to early pg and now thinking that I could be right.

When that stopped I then had nausea until about 16 weeks when it tailed off. I'm generally feeling ok though, which I find unnerving...almost wish something was happening. Although still only at 5 1/2 weeks.

When I had the nausea before I ate often - found it worse when I got hungry and also favoured vinegary or sharp flavours. So lots of pickled stuff, and salt and vinegar crisps, fruit salads but also (not so good) lots of cheese which seems wrong but seemed to work to keep everything down! I am trying not to do this this time round though...

Hello twitt, gin, even and congratulations!!!

dances twins, that would be hard work certainly but also exciting!!!

chiliplant · 06/08/2014 11:07

Hello all?? congratulations on your pregnancies. I found out I'm pregnant about three days ago.. About three days after missed period. Not having any symptoms yet apart from slightly bigger breasts and nipples. Is it normal not t have sickness yet?x

CatRen27 · 06/08/2014 11:43

chilliplant I have no sickness at all and about as far along as you. Choosing to think I'm one of the lucky ones rather than worrying!

chiliplant · 06/08/2014 11:46

OK cool, we are lucky lucky lucky!! Had a mc at 8 weeks so quite nervous. So exciting though. Do u have any symptoms?x

RiverRocks · 06/08/2014 11:51

Morning ladies, welcome to the newbies.

chilli some people don't get sickness at all. Mine started pretty much as I hit 6 weeks, so don't worry, there's still time Grin

I had an early reassurance scan this morning, and there was a happy heartbeat. The sonographer was quick to reassure me that this is a very good sign, as the majority of early losses happen before the heartbeat develops. She dated me at 6+3, which is exactly what I should be by my calculations.

She kept pointing to things on the screen, but I could only see a white splodge. Does that make me a bad mum already Confused

RiverRocks · 06/08/2014 11:53

Oh and tips, the reading I have done suggests eating before you get up (check), eating dry bread and crackers (check) fizzy sweets (check) and boiled sweets (check). Also eating little and often. I have not been sick, but I am quite nauseous and these do seem to help.

dancestomyowntune · 06/08/2014 12:05

Glad your scan was all good riverrocks, can I ask if it was internal? Just wondering if I need to drink a lot for mine on Tuesday or not really!

CatRen27 · 06/08/2014 12:38

Chilli not many symptoms just huge boobs (by my standards!). Not feeling tired yet either. Fingers crossed this is all just good luck. I did a third test the other day with a different brand just to make sure it hadn't gone away as I didn't "feel pregnant"! So dumb.

minipie · 06/08/2014 12:39

Hello everyone, I can't keep up!

Well I'm at 5.5 weeks and don't seem to have many of the standard symptoms (boobs a bit sore but early nausea seems to have gone). I am knackered but DD is a terrible sleeper so that's normal!

However I am really grumpy!!! Not sure if this is a symptom or if I'm just cross at the moment Grin Anyone else being ratty or is it just me?

People who've had early scans - were these NHS or private and if NHS, did you have a referral/bleeding etc? My local hospital has an EPU which in theory will do early scans for walk ins but I'm not sure how they'd react if I turned up without any reason iyswim.

minipie · 06/08/2014 12:40

dances I had a few early scans last time (bleeding) and they were all internal, but I had to wee before the scan.

lozzg82 · 06/08/2014 12:51

I'm feeling so emotional today, and I am counting that as a symp

lozzg82 · 06/08/2014 12:53

Oppss - symptom! But have so much going on with my father in law being admitted to a hospice today. Feeling unsure if we should tell him our news, or if this would upset him likely not being around in 8 months. We were not planning in telling anyone till week 12...
