Morning ladies, have just realised a really long post I sent the other day has disappeared! Must not have pressed post properly.. Ah and I can't remember all I'd written.. So i was thinking of you all honestly Sad

Anyway everyone's bumps are blooming! I can't believe we are so close now, I have to pinch myself sometimes.
Is everyone almost ready?
We are half way there..car seat, snuzpod and cot all arrived last week and baby's room started on, sorted out his clothes into drawers as well (scary) will wash when on ML. Just need the little things, bedding and such and things for hospital bag which I might get today on the big shop, it feels more imminent all of a sudden as I don't think they'll let me go to my due date, I'll never get a 9/10 pounder out of me! Confused midwife tomorrow and next scan on Friday!

How is everyone?

Penguin I'm so sorry to hear about your friend, so awful. I can't believe all that's going on in the world right now, very scary.

Glad antenatal classes are going well! Wish I had some to go to!

Franks I'd definitely insist on another midwife, that is not on and you don't need the stress.

Sorry I've not caught up with everyone, my lost post had! Hope everyone's enjoying the weekend, I was woken up for the first time by the baby in the night, a foot stuck right out by my ribs, I had to rub it back down but he kept on doing it!

Oh I nearly forgot to add my bump pic, my sister took it at hers yesterday and was in tears laughing at how big it was compared to hers at this stage.. Great!! Almost 31 weeks and gigantic.

CallingAllEngels · 05/10/2014 13:18

Have been really slack at catching up and posting. penguin so sorry to hear about your ex-colleague.

28w here today and has been very up and down. B12 shots seem to be helping but still finding it hard to cope with DS (nearly 3 and everything is "No!" right now and struggling with potty training) but it sounds like they have finally sorted maternity cover for me (even though I'm handing over to 3 different people).

Penguin13 · 06/10/2014 07:34

You look beautiful Strawbs. You're slender everywhere else which probably makes bump look bigger too. My SIL was just the same. Of course I've been carefully growing my arse at the same rate as my bump to balance it all out Grin

Sorry you're having a tough time with DS Engels. It must be exhausting being pregnant with a wilful toddler on your hands as well.

My 4 week countdown to ML begins here. Woot. Hope you all have a good week x

Penguin13 · 08/10/2014 05:37

Ugh. Pregnancy insomnia 1 : Penguin 0. Been so restless the last few nights and now have been properly awake since 4.30. How's everyone else sleeping? I never thought I'd be trying to get my baby back to sleep before they were even born but mini penguin was wriggling so vigorously this morning that I tried walking up and down and jiggling to see if it would help calm things down! Thankful that I only have 3 and a half more weeks of work before I can at least take daytime naps.

On the subject to wriggles are you all doing the whole 'count the kicks' thing? I tried but find it easier to track general patterns of movement although even that is not very consistent (the noticing not the movement). I know it's good to be aware that significantly reduced/increased movement can be a warning sign but it's hard to know what counts as 'significant' and very hard to keep track when you're busy and stressed!

Anyone seen Basgetti lately? I even went looking on the HG support thread but no sign. Hope she's ok.

Right. Might as well make the most of being awake at stupid o'clock and tidy the kitchen like I should have done last night!

CallingAllEngels · 08/10/2014 06:23

Sleep has been shit here as well penguin - struggling to get to sleep which is very unlike me and dh has been waking up every night so he starts tossing and turning at 3 which sets me off.

I remember I had it at 6 months pg with ds when I was stressed with how much prep I needed to do for ml handover and ended up working on my laptop at 4am because I just couldn't get to sleep!

Hoping that after the wedding this weekend (last trip to the uk before edd at end of December) I will be able to chill out a bit more - being a bridesmaid is really stressing me out!

I'm not counting kicks but aware of when I get kicked...pretty much all day long right now! Babyhas been very active, especially when I'm lying or sitting for prolonged periods of time.

CoventGarden75 · 08/10/2014 06:31

I've been awake since 3am, again. Tired me = irritable me = no patience with ML cover. I'm getting really concerned about his lack of overview, he's been there 2 months and has no clue and I'm not helping to build his confidence and I feel bad for it.
My boss is cruel and keep buying huge bags of sweets for the office Confused I don't want to eat them but can't help it.
Baby is very active lately (sugar rush re sweets?) but I'm not counting anything, also I feel her mostly when at home lying down.

A bit late but lovely bump pics everyone.

Another lady pregnant in the gym, that makes 5 of us, 3 due Dec and 2 in feb.

Hope everyone is ok

Penguin13 · 08/10/2014 11:38

Brew and hugs to my fellow insomniacs!

Hope you're a bit less stressed about the handover now Engels. My super lovely colleague told me it's ok to hand stuff back to her if I can't finish everything which has made me feel slightly less like my head is going to explode!!

CakesALot · 08/10/2014 13:20

Another insomniac here! Tiredness makes me irritable too but also over emotional and I've had a good few sobs for no real reason other than being so shattered! I'm fortunate that my ML cover is proving to be fab and is taking a lot off my plate which at least means I'm not quite as stressed as I was. But I'd love a good nights sleep! Decent rest seems to be the only thing that eases my PGP too so I'm stuck in a vicious circle!

Roll on ML and afternoon naps!

Just off to get my flu jab now and taking some time back this afternoon. Plan is to sort through the crap in the spare room but I can see me landing on the sofa and not budging until DH is home when I'll feel guilty for doing nothing!!

Penguin13 · 08/10/2014 19:51

Glad you have great ML cover cakes. Anything that takes the pressure off a little has to be a good thing.

Hope the flu jab went well. I actually had mine today as well, in Boots near my work. Was a bit bizarre but quite handy as I could pop in on my lunchtime.

If you ended up resting this afternoon, the good news is that any time you are sitting doing nothing you are officially taking care of and nurturing the baby Grin

I was so excited about getting my close caboo baby carrier today that as soon as I got home I had to try it our with my old dolly. I attached a pic so you can have a good laugh. It's not sitting quite right thanks to the big bump but I can't wait to use it for real!!

FranksBobot · 09/10/2014 16:17

Afternoon all! I'm on my mobile so please excuse any typos etc.
I'm also still a member of the insomniacs club worryingly I'm actually starting to get used to it Confused
I've had a double whammy of flu and whooping cough jabs today. Seemed like a grand idea at the time but now I can barely lift my cuppa to my mouth my arms are aching that much. No wonder babies cry when they have their jabs this whooping cough one is a bugger.

Lots more lovely bump pics, you are all looking fab.
I keep singing "it's the final countdown" at DP just to remind him that baby will soon be here! Need to get a shimmy on with the rest of the shopping though.

basgetti · 10/10/2014 14:11

Hi all, sorry I've been awol for so long. I've been in hospital all week, was discharged yesterday pm. Had really bad dehydration and ketonuria, even my liver function was off! I'm on a bit more of an even keel again after lots of drugs and fluids, but have been told I may get a slightly early induction if it continues with this severity for the next few weeks.

I hope everyone is doing okay, I will try to catch up on the thread soon, just feeling a bit fragile today and not up to doing much except lying in bed watching Four In A Bed marathons!

29+5 today x

Penguin13 · 12/10/2014 07:56

Basgetti! So lovely to see you. Sorry you're still having such a rough time, that week in hospital sounds scary even though you were in the place you needed to be. Glad you're back resting at home now which is probably a lot nicer.

Ouch Franks sounds painful. Hope your arm is better now. My flu arm went a bit itchy hot and sore at the site of the injection but not too bad.

regularbutpanickingabit · 12/10/2014 21:43

Basgetti - you poor poor thing. You have had such a horrible time and I can't believe it is still going on. Hang on in there and hopefully they can induce early.

Franks - i also got the double whammy jab on Wednesday and wasn't expecting that! My arm bloody hurt for 3 days and is only now back to normal. Oh well, all done.
Love that carrier. Where did you get it? Looks so comfy!

CoventGarden75 · 14/10/2014 20:38

not much to report here, just popping to say hi Smile

FranksBobot · 15/10/2014 09:37

Morning all, hope everyone is doing well.
Glad I'm not the only one that found the jabs painful! Arms finally settled down on day 4! Crazy considering I have tattoos and piercings none of which I found painful.

Basgetti sorry to hear you are still suffering. Fingers crossed for an early induction so you can start to enjoy your little one.

The school run was rather interesting this morning, baby frankette has decided to turn breech and has mastered the art of kicking my cervix every time I walk. What normally is a 15 minute walk took almost 30 mins and then I had to get home again.
Baby's drawers arrived yesterday so I am going to spend today washing clothes and blankets. I'm so glad to be working from home this pregnancy, I remember reaching this point with Dd and struggling to make it to the office each day so massive hugs and lots of motivational vibes for those of you who are still managing.

30 weeks today Grin can't quite believe it!

Penguin13 · 16/10/2014 08:19

Hi all. Really tired this week. Was 33 weeks on Mon and really starting to feel the 2 hours each way commute thanks to the delightful combo of pgp, insomnia and work stress. This week I am mostly focusing on counting my blessings. I am so so happy to be pregnant, up till now I have had a very easy pregnancy and just 2 weeks 2 days to go till I can forgo the 06.15 alarm!

Regular I bought my caboo close carrier at John Lewis. which has nothing to do with the fact that I wanted to use my John lewis card and ensure I get more vouchers for free coffee and cake, honest Hmm

Oof Franks cervix kicks sound painful. Hope frankette turns head down again soon! I'm measuring slightly ahead now (i think I was 34.5 cm at 32 week appointment) and can really feel that mini penguin is running out of room. It's a squirmarama in there! Mw reckons that I'm in proportion for my height although I may have an 8 - 9 lb baby so am managing to take all the 'are you sure there's only one in there?' Comments with a grain of salt. Mostly Smile

regularbutpanickingabit · 16/10/2014 12:35

Hello all! Thanks for the caboo recommendation. We only had baby bjorns with my other 2 but I would much prefer a proper carrier/sling if possible.

I am now on the joyous nighttime cramps. Oh. My. God. The pain! Poor dh was screamed out of bed at 4am today to try and sort out cramp in both calves. Then just as he got back to his pillow, my left foot started moving up of its own accord and I had horrendous cramp at the front of my shin. Since when does that happen??!!

Long journey to a client yesterday and it totally knocked me out. A couple more of those to do but most of my work days are within an hour's commute for now, thank goodness. I am so over that bit.

31+2 and hoping the squirmy movements inside me are proving this little one is doing ok!

My bump is massive. Huge. Enormous. But apparently fine. I hope so!

CoventGarden75 · 16/10/2014 13:29

penguin you have such a positive attitude Smile

franks I hope she turns round again quickly or starts to behave Grin

Ouch regular that's so painful, I hope the pain is gone and doesn't stay for days.

Sorry to hear about all your difficult commutes, it's enough of a pain without being pg already. My main struggle is still insomnia, apologies for being a broken record, I was awake at 2am (again) till 6.30, managed an extra hour sleep after that but had to get up for work. I can't live on 4h sleep... On the good side, at 5am I got my parents train tickets sorted for end of Dec. one less thing to worry about.

Work is irritating and boring at the same time, I want ML cover to be autonomous, therefore I do nothing Grin but still get annoyed when things are not done properly. I'd better do some calming breathing exercise.

32w, 6+2w before last day at work and 21 working days, not counting.

CakesALot · 16/10/2014 17:53

Hi folks!

Franks- hope the baby does a flip for you and gets the right way around! Baby cakes is head down and hiccups away in my cervix which is odd enough, never mind kicks!

Penguin- boo to the commute! Keep that end in sight though, so close now!

Regular- I get those shin cramps! No idea how to stretch them out either so I just roll around in agony! Oh for an uninterrupted nights sleep, I crave it so much but it'll be a long time before we see one of those again! 8 more working days for me. Mmm...afternoon naps!

Im33+4 today and feeling gigantic. My bump is rock solid and full of squirmy baby who has ox like strength and pushes her feet up against my ribs or uterus and I swear she's trying to escape in an alien style!! Can't wait to meet the feisty little thing!

Hope everyone is well xx

Penguin13 · 16/10/2014 18:23

For those with calf cramps, what you need to do is get your muscles to do the opposite movement, so flex your foot (opposite of pointing your toes). Weirdly I have realised my nightly calf cramps have gone away now but when I had them after a few agonising times somehow my body learned to flex my foot almost involuntarily when calf cramp was about to strike and it warded off the pain.

Covent you poor thing. It must be so frustrating. I'm not suffering as badly as you and my temperament is like an overtired toddler for much of the day!

Glad I'm not the only one feeling gigantic. Feel like I am about 99% full of baby (the final 1% being reserved for my husband's home-made cheesecake Grin) My new method of getting around can more accurately be described as weebling than walking!

regularbutpanickingabit · 17/10/2014 07:22

Anyone else having strange dreams?! Last night I dreamt I had the baby at 31 weeks and tried to work out how to get it back in. It was a girl (we have no idea but most people think I am having a boy) with black Afro hair (impossible) and a full set of teeth. Most peculiar!

FranksBobot · 17/10/2014 09:40

That is a bizarre one Regular. I had quite a vivid random dream last night too. For some reason I was breaking into a chip shop on the high street of the town I used to live in! Woke up very confused by it.

OP posts:
CoventGarden75 · 18/10/2014 11:51

interesting dreams you're having Smile i don't remember mine.

our antenatal class today has been cancelled last minute, got a text just as we were about to leave the flat, disappointing... i hope they'll have a replacement date that DP can attend. To cheer us up, i went on ebay and got some baby sleeping bags :D

after a quiet week which made me panic a bit, baby was very active again last night, DP took a video Grin and might call her toblerone if she carries on like that.

oh, and did you see the news on the main thread? i was catching up with lurking, and the 1st baby has arrived Shock

i hope everyone is enjoying their weekend

Penguin13 · 19/10/2014 08:58

I always have strange dreams but it's definitely continued on pregnancy. The first trimester ones were the weirdest, now I seem to be having more ahem raunchy dreams Blush Probably down to a lack of actual activity in that department lately! If I were you Franks I'd interpret the chip shop dream as your body telling you you definitely need chips ASAP Grin

So Envy that you managed to capture a vid of baby Covent, mini penguin remains resolutely camera shy. Glad you got some reassurance though with all that wiggling.

So sorry to hear your ante-natal class was cancelled at the last moment. How frustrating. Fingers crossed there will be another suitable date for you and DP.

Wow, can't believe the first December thread baby is already here! On our last ante-natal session a couple from a previous course came in with their real live 4 week old baby who arrived in week 37 - that seemed quite early enough thanks! It did make me panic slightly about not having bought everything or packed my hospital bag yet though. The baby was so cute though!

34 weeks tomorrow Smile

FranksBobot · 20/10/2014 19:56

Evening ladies,
I had a quick lurk on the "normal" dec thread as well covent! Very scary stuff to think there is already a December baby born. Hope mum and baby are all good.
Penguin I had really raunchy dreams in the first trimester. One involved a famous comedian and it kept me flustered for days! I'll never be able to watch him in the same light again.
Now it's max brannings hips on strictly that seem to get me drooling. Never ever seen him in that light before! No wonder the women of walford go crazy around him.
I've been suffering horrendous heartburn the last few evenings. Nothing seems to help it which is rather annoying.
Hope everyone is feeling as good as can be expected at this stage!
