Good luck with physio ladies, fx it makes a difference.

Not much to report here, but 26+0 today and this morning it looked like that.

Now I have bump envy Covent! You look so slim apart from your gorgeous bump. Envy meanwhile my arse is growing out of control and I have a lovely preggo double chin with my cake habit I only have myself to blame

Hope that the physio makes a difference for those of you who are suffering.

Really glad you enjoyed antenatal class cakes. I'm looking forward to starting ours but as a natural introvert and shy soul I have a slightly first day of school feeling about it all.

CoventGarden75 · 05/09/2014 13:53

Here we go again, app ate my post. Just to top up the virus we have at work, everything is at a stand still since yesterday while we wait for IT to fix it.

Re antenatal: 3 events coming up for me: one day class organised by mw/hospital, bumpfest and my pg friends is organising a lunch with her experienced friends who are going to tell us all about childbirth. So that should cover it. I decided against NCT as it only seems a way to make friends and social skills were never my strong point. Probably why I dropped out the main thread, big groups scare me.

penguin thanks for your nice comment but it's an optical illusion. My weight is up 13% from pre pg! And I still have one week to go before reaching 3rd tri.

I'm a bit worried that I can't feel baby move as much as before (she was kicking right and left then), even though we heard HB with mw on Tuesday. She said to give it another couple of weeks, the joy of anterior placenta!

I hope everyone is having a nice Friday, not long to the weekend.

Shanels · 05/09/2014 17:39

Hi guys
covent my girl has gone a bit quiet too though still moving; I have an anterior placenta too. Maybe it's just them chilling too.....your bump looks very neat and tidy by the way.
I've signed up to a course in October that the hospital suggested but dreading it too; it finishes latest 9.30pm and is mid-week. But I really need to learn a lot as I don't think I know much.
Bumpfest sounds good though- might look into it.
tiny hope physio goes well and helps.
Happy Friday!

I am sat at the airport waiting for our flight to greece. Yay!

Hope you all have a lovely week and see you on the other side Smile

CoventGarden75 · 06/09/2014 18:13

penguin have a fab holiday!

shanels that sounds like a long day, my course is on a saturday from 10 to 4. If you're interested in Bumpfest, you probably already know that there is a good discount with the code mumsnetter. I have no clue about babies either, and panicking a bit to be honest, but trying to be rational. We've just pickup a small cot this morning, it makes me feel slightly more prepared now Hmm

having a very lazy saturday.

Shanels · 06/09/2014 20:08

Have a great hol penguin
We should have been in Santa Barbara today driving from San Fran to LA but I cancelled the trip cos of the pregnancy. It would have been too much for me to cope with. My sister and her bf are doing it alone now but following their pics is quite nice actually.
covent congrats on cot! I did the same today and ordered the crib (the snuz pod) and am excited. I'm usually an organised person who likes to read about and prepare for everything. With this, I'm do terrified of the birth that not reading and not preparing have been my tactics in not having to face the reality. But I gotta get my act together and step one - the crib- is done at least. P.s. Baby is making up for the quiet days- she's kicking ferociously now.
Good night!

FranksBobot · 08/09/2014 14:02

Haha found you! For some reason this thread disappeared for a while and I couldn't find you.
Will catch up properly later on once I switch the laptop on but for now I'll mark my place with a bump pic! 24+5 today Grin

Fab bump there Franks!

CoventGarden75 · 09/09/2014 09:57

Great bump franks

My mum arrives on thu for a week, but told me yesterday she'll be back in Dec. What??? I don't think I can look after both my mum and baby.

Baby is making herself noticed again, she had a wild party on Saturday night from 3 to 6amSmile

CakesALot · 09/09/2014 16:05

Hi all! Hope everyone is keeping well?

Lovely bump franks! I need to contribute a picture...I will get round to it I promise!

Parents like to think they're being helpful don't they covent? When in actual fact they usual bring a bag load of stress with them! Can you politely suggest you might like to be alone as a new family for a while? Not sure if I mentioned it before but my FIL mentioned that he'll be in our area in early December and said he'd like a room for the night...on what will be my due date...I think not!! He's a pain at the best of times but I'll be in no mood to entertain him then!!

Glad you're getting some good movements again too covent. Baby cakes currently has hiccups and is somewhere down very low so it feels like I have a twitch in my cervix!! Odd!

Midwife and whooping cough jab tomorrow Smile 28+2

StrawbsAndCream · 09/09/2014 16:54

Lovely bump Franks!

Covent maybe a subtle 'over my dead body' may be needed! We bought the house right next door to my parents! we all get on very well and they are amazing, know when to help and when not to, plus dinner at their house every Monday is a bonus! Will also be having Christmas Day there this year so will be jumping over the wall with the baby which will be nice.

Lovely that she is moving lots, even that early in the morning.. Maybe she's preparing you Wink I'm mainly getting kicks in the cervix and kicks or maybe elbows? Up by my ribs, where is everyone's uterus now? Mine is touching my ribs! Also just body parts sticking out and scraping across my stomach.. Love it though.

Yes post a pic Cakes I think i took one last week I'll put it on.
Ah I'm glad you've said about hiccups.. He's been having them for about 2 weeks now usually 3 times a day, like a twitch and very odd when it's by my cervix or bottom! They are so close together though are yours? Every second or 2!

Does anyone have their car seat or know which they're getting? I'm trying to decided between the maxi cosi cabrio or pebble, don't know if the pebble is worth the extra £30.

In the club tonight Grin

Hope penguin is enjoying her hols!

27 weeks today, yay!

CakesALot · 09/09/2014 17:29

Yes, very close together, every 2 seconds sounds about right! I get most of my kicks either very low down or at the top of my bump but see a lot of movement across the middle now too. I'd love a scan so I can actually see where she is when all the movement is going on!

CakesALot · 09/09/2014 17:34

And here's the bump (please excuse the dirty washing in the background!!) That's about a week ago Smile

FranksBobot · 09/09/2014 20:04

Right, proper catch up time! Sorry I've been AWOL. DD being back at school meant I had no excuses not to concentrate on a massive project for work. Now that is complete I can chill out a bit more.

Basgetti So glad you popped back! Sorry to hear you've still been so ill. Fingers crossed the meds are still working for you Flowers Did you manage to find some maternity jeans? I bought a pair from a Next outlet store, the are comfy and not bad looks wise either!

Tiny Naming babies is soooo hard. We have managed to agree on a name for frankette (Its not frankette!) but struggling to agree on a middle name. Not telling anyone in RL as I don't really care what they think. It is a traditional name with traditional spelling though.
Love your bump pic by the way Smile

Regular I have learnt that nothing is irrational whilst pregnant. in our flurry of hormones everything seems perfectly rational!

Hope you are having a fab holiday Penguin

Fab bumps Covent Strawbs & Cakes

EEEKKK Look at us all blooming!

We have a joie Gemm car seat and soon will be getting the isofix base for it. No experience of the maxi cosi ones i'm afraid. Definitely check how heavy seat is without baby though. I remember making that mistake with DD and not being able to carry the seat once she was in it. I'm not a fan of the newborn to 4 years ones, only because car seats get super grubby.

BIG WAVE to anyone I haven't mentioned. I promise I will not leave it so long again.

CoventGarden75 · 09/09/2014 20:37

oh wow, so many lovely bump pics today! Smile

shanels well done on the crib.

strawbs yay to 27w, welcome to 3rd tri and thanks again for reminding me about in the club, tho I don't understand why Jasmin made such a fuss about her dates if her DH turned out to be the father. Yep it's lovely to feel baby move, i can't get enough of it, how do you know where your uterus is? That's handy to have your parents so close, yet have your own space.

We'll talked when my mum is here about another visit (40sqm), not sure how I feel about it, she might surprised me and turn out to be a great help (i feel quite isolated and panicky and unprepared) but she might just get on my nerves (although she is lovely we have completely different tastes/views on everything)

cakes great timing from your FIL. Good luck for your appt tomorrow. I have everything in a couple of weeks, all in one: mw, whooping cough & flu jabs and GTT. I got scared that I might not be able to eat all day as it's @ 5.30pm, but no fasting required, phew

CoventGarden75 · 09/09/2014 20:41

oh and any signs of linea nigra? looks like it's slowly appearing here

Shanels · 10/09/2014 10:16

Sunny morning all!
Lovely bump pics everyone.

covent no line antigravity here yet but when I won't to my GP the other day I asked if she would measure bump and she started from just the top of my stomach under my breasts. Surprisingly very high! I'm doing GTT for my 28 week appointment on Fri but I have to fast for 8 hours and then drink lucozade 2 hours before the test.

franks frankettes kettle made me giggle. The name issue is an ongoing thing with my hubby- my parents are from Cyprus so I want something Turkish and English. Well get there eventually.

strawbs I'm going for the maxi cosi too- the pebble one. I don't think the cabrio is for new borns. I'm also going for the isofix base which can be used in rear facing too (£175) as all advice seems to suggest that having baby facing back is safer. I'll pop in to a store and ask for advice though too. I also had the hiccup experience yesterday and it went on for a bit quite low in my cervix with seconds apart. It was weird for me too.

Take care all.

TinyMonkey · 10/09/2014 12:42

No linea nigra here. Finally managed to extract my belly ring with the help of MrTM and some pliers, feel rather naked without it, but it was beginning to catch on the side of the shower door when I shuffled through it in the morning which was unpleasant.

We're going to go for the Maxi Cosi Cabrio Fix Strawbs, that extra £30 will come in handy for something else I reckon. The Pebble looks cute with the Confetti embroidery, but I'm too old and cynical to be suckered into paying more for a car seat that is no safer than the cheaper version!

Had group physio the other day for my SPD, mine seems to be holding steady at the moment and only really giving me trouble at night which is a relief. Was thankful for the swift referral though as there were women there with only three weeks to go and in a lot more pain. Next week is busy with growth scan, Anti D injection, consultant, and 2nd GTT all over two days. Really looking forward to seeing the baby again though. Kicks and general movement getting so much stronger now, love it!

MrTM has decided that now is a good time to have a bit of a meltdown about impending parenthood which is not amusing me one little bit. I'm trying to be sympathetic, I know that he's worried about not being a good dad (his dad was a bit rubbish) but ARGH.

CakesALot · 10/09/2014 14:11

Good stuff on the physio, Tiny. I've been doing the exercise they sent through to me and have noticed some improvement. But nothing beats resting!

My H is an anxious sort so I'm fully expecting a similar meltdown at some point. I've been having mood swings left right and centre recently and he's been so patient with me...not sure I'll manage that in return! I'm normally such a chilled out person!

No linea nigra here either. Or stretch marks. Still time for that though. Midwife appointment was great. Still measuring spot on, heartbeat good too. Got my whooping cough jab and had new bloods done for antibody and iron checks. And a prescription for a massive bottle of gaviscon, my new best friend!!

Shanels · 10/09/2014 14:59

Sorry I'm wrong- both cabriolet and pebble are for new borns.

The difference in price is £15 in John Lewis. I think the pebble is the newer model and the thing that swings it for me is that the pebble can carry a baby up to 18kg whereas the cabriofix is up to 13kg.

PourquoiTuGachesTaVie · 10/09/2014 16:47

Everyone having the GTT are there circumstances which mean you need to have it or is it a standard thing? (just wondering as there seems to be a lot of people having it on this thread?)

My mum had type 1 diabetes which I told the midwife about during my booking in appointment but no one has mentioned the GTT since then.

Whooping cough vaccine done today. Midwife appointment next week when I'll be 30 weeks as she wasn't available at 28 weeks.

It's also looking like I need to send my own matb1 form off to HR as I have a new line manager who I'm not impressed with. I've got a call with HR tomorrow to discuss mat leave, KIT days etc and my line manager is supposed to be there but won't be as they've gone on holiday. It's stressing me out a little!

29 weeks today.

PourquoiTuGachesTaVie · 10/09/2014 16:48

Sorry wrong thread! I just saw December in the title and wasn't paying attention Blush. Can't even copy and paste as I'm on the app!

CallingAllEngels · 10/09/2014 17:30

Hi everyone. I totally dropped off thread. Haven't been posting as much on main thread either as back to work last week which was hell and had me wondering how I'd hold on for ML. This week has been much better though -was a shock to my system I think!

24+3

CoventGarden75 · 10/09/2014 21:22

tiny i can't believe you still had your original belly button ring Shock, mine was killing me very early on. I'm very pleased with the soft bar one that's been replacing it since tho. So sweet you'll see your baby again soon Smile

oh god, cakes, mood swings, i was a mess this weekend, then this morning on my way back to work after a nice swim, i got all emotional in the street and barely managed to hold the tears. DP is wonderful, and managed to fix the swimming watch so i can follow the steady decrease in my performance Grin

pourquoi my mw didn't mentioned any concerns about anything, so it looks like in my case, the GTT is just a routine check, but i'm under the impression that they have only just implemented it as they don't have the facilities for it yet so it will be at the antenatal department of UCH.

welcome back engels
