Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 10th grads thread...celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed Grin

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

There is a stats thread here but its a zombie thread so enter at your own risk....... eeeeek

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 26th outing!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal here once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a secret facebook group, if you want to join, Pm me!

So, roll call below please, viroids! Smile

They did at mine Wil - she offered in fact!
Hope you're feeling ok Furry, how rotten to be in hospital on a day like today!

cookielove · 22/07/2014 22:11

They did at mine wil :)

Minion · 23/07/2014 05:12

She listened at mine too wil but only after warning me she may not find anything and me promising I wouldn't get upset and stressed.
It was magical!
Well, I've come to terms (ish) with not knowing what little mango 'is' now (ish) so neutral all the way it is then. Still have dreams though, so far we are up to girls 3-boys 1.
Oh and I'm officially halfway! 20 weeks today.
Though I still think I'm a week behind as the measurements from the scan indicate 29 weeks not 20, which would add up perfectly for me. But hey, what do I know.
Looked on notes and it says my placenta is anterior so after googling extensively it seems these little rolls and thuds may be all I'm likely to feel. Booooo.
Wanted a good kick. Though others with it say they don't feel anything so I think mine may not be completely in the front IYSWIM.
Anyone else have it?

Girls who are so far gone that heat is a problem, you have my sympathies, I really feel for you. Hope the other halves are looking after you all x

JuniDD · 23/07/2014 09:40

hey min. My placenta is anterior. I think baby is often breech so I get kicks very low down which are quite strong. Give it a couple more weeks and see.

Woken up with sore legs. That'll teach me to go round a friend's house instead of sitting with my feet up all evening Sad.

Pisghetti · 23/07/2014 10:26

Eurgh I am grouchy today. I'm sick of waking up feeling like I have a hangover. I can only handle hangovers when I have had the fun of getting tipsy first! I'm on a train which isn't helping. I really don't want to have to go to the foul little toilet to be sick. My stomach is also in knots as I've had a meeting with the MD and the HR director popped in my diary this afternoon. The HR director is lovely but seeing her on an attendee list is never A Good Thing. I'm buggered if I lose my job - who's going to employ an upduffed woman?

Sorry to be so miserable Sad I had a natter about it to my embryo in the car this morning despite it not having ears yet. I felt slightly silly but a bit more connected to the fact there's a real life baby in there which might not appreciate my stress hormones.

In better news I met up with a friend last night who is about four months along. She's the only person to know (apart from DP of course) so we had an evening of talking pregnancy stuff which is the first time I've been able to do it. That was nice.

HungryHorace · 23/07/2014 12:56

My MW point blank refused to even try to listen at the 16 week appt. She was running quite late though, and I think part of it was that she didn't want to spend the time doing it.

VBAC clinic listened at 22 weeks and my community midwife at 24.

Nice guidelines state 24 weeks for the reasons given above.

Re anterior placentas, I've got one this pregnancy and while it delayed me feeling baby, once it's strong enough you will be thoroughly beaten in, so you won't miss that out of your pregnancy. As you get more pregnant your placenta will move up as your uterus stretches, so you should feel more then. :-)

I'm bruised from the rolls and movements I get!

Ooh, DH is here to see me. Back later.

JuniDD · 23/07/2014 13:23

Welcome chat and congrats.

I didn't hear the heartbeat til 25 weeks.

So very elephantine of leg today, it's quite unpleasant. Feels like my skin is stretching. Will I have Nora Batty legs once bebe is here?!?! Shock

ZylaB · 23/07/2014 17:33

Been to the hospital, saw baby and a heartbeat (yay), they agree with me at 7+2 and they're also so happy with my diabetes control that they don't want to see me for another 5 weeks, so for the standard 12 week scan.

All I've got to do in the meantime is go for a photo of my eyes, cos pregnancy can affect a diabetic's eyes, and book in with the community midwife.

I feel like a massive weight has lifted :) :)

Nessalina · 23/07/2014 17:42

Wonderful news Zyla! Smile Glad they're letting you just get on with it for a few weeks!

I've had such a stressful day today Sad One of my staff members has asked to change her hours and whilst I've done my best I can't completely accommodate her request. I can do most of it, but with a bit of a tweak, and when I told her initially she was fine with it. But she has decided now that I could do it, but I just don't want to and I'm victimising her Hmm She has been in tears twice today! Confused I've been nothing but nice about it! Really don't know what to do - I can't change her hours to how she wants without changing EVERYONES hours (all in a negative way), and I don't think that's fair. But she's being so irrational about it Sad Ugh.

cookielove · 23/07/2014 17:46

zyla I hope you don't mind me asking and obviously if you don't want to answer please don't but curiosity is getting the better of me, how high and low do your sugars go, when you loose control? And when you don't?

zyla yay for the heartbeat.

My placenta is high anterior and I feel kicks all the time :)

OP posts:
ZylaB · 23/07/2014 17:47

That does not sound fun ness :(

RPopz · 23/07/2014 17:50

She's not pregnant is she Ness? Haha!

Glad it went well Zyla great news Grin.

I am feeling pretty elephantine myself today... especially whilst having to run for the bus just now Hmm haha!

My delightful preggers colleague turned up with a crutch today... walking is so hard doncha know. Despite Facebooking all weekend about shopping trips and beach walks round Brighton, netball matches, and a 12 hour double paid nightshift.... Purleeease.

JuniDD · 23/07/2014 17:57

Ooh, rpopz you be careful. The only advice my nan (88) gave me has been to not run for buses! Fucks my pelvis now if I try. Gah.

zyla that's great news, really glad you're feeling relieved and things are looking good. Hurrah!

ness sorry about that colleague, I hope it blows over. I work with employment law advisers and know a bit myself if you want any advice, pm me.

pis hope your meeting was for a promotion and nothing bad!

horace are you having to stay in for a while now or are you to be freed soon?

Came home early and lay on my bed for two hours as I was feeling really crappy. I'm not a summer fan usually anyway but I am just counting down until September now! It's way too hot to be doing anything, least of all going to work.

Oh, this'll make you laugh, I was listening to a song in the car and one of the lyrics was "I love you very much" and I thought to myself "I love the baby very much" and then burst into tears on a dual carriageway! I am so not the hormonal blubberer normally. Need to get a grip!

wilmabedrock · 23/07/2014 18:00

Oh popz she sounds dreadful.

That sounds really stressful nessa, I'm sure it will be obvious you've done all you can so stick to your guns and let her fume about it.

cookielove · 23/07/2014 18:03

Oh ness I x post with you, how very annoying for you. I think you are right to stand your ground!

OP posts:
RPopz · 23/07/2014 18:10

I use the word "running" very loosely Juni Wink

ZylaB · 23/07/2014 18:21

cookie I did get told I was trying to run it a little too low and to be careful not to lose hypo awareness! uhm.. I normally can tell I'm hypo when it's down to 3.4 or 3.5 sometimes a bit higher, but I have had the odd scary 2.3 when asleep etc.

my highs are few and far between atm, I'm usually no more than 7 or 7.5 after meals atm (after a lot if jiggery pokery) but did have a 13 when I was ill the other day, which made me panic as anything over 8 I don't like, but it didn't last long as I injected extra insulin.

Mostly I like to sit at 4 or 5 for most of the day, but have a few too many 3s, which means a few more snacks needed hehe. But as I'm type 1 mine get altered easily, if I get one that I think is a little high, I can inject immediately to deal with it.

ZylaB · 23/07/2014 18:23

Has anyone tried travel sickness bands for nausea? Did they work? I'm debating trying some...

cookielove · 23/07/2014 18:29

Ahh zyla thanks for letting me know, I realise it's a completely different kettle of fish with Gestational diabetes but it really has sparked my interest. My father has type 2 but doesn't really check his sugars anymore as he has had it under control for years.

I have to be under 7.8 after meals and the highest I've been to is 8.7, I've been above 8 about 6 times in the last 4 weeks and was worried it was too high, but the midwife wasn't to bothered. Its so hard to know what to do!

Any way thanks :)

OP posts:
RPopz · 23/07/2014 18:32

My colleague used them and said they worked for her. She only had 2 weeks of ms though! Envy And they're not very discrete Wink

ZylaB · 23/07/2014 18:32

Above an 8 isn't that big a deal as long as it's not staying there. My nurse told me you have to think of it as part of the 24 hours, so if you get it a bit wrong, it's not wrong for a long time in the scheme of things.

Mind you.. I'm testing sugars about 15-20 times a day atm, cos knowing I'm ok puts my mind at ease :)

ZylaB · 23/07/2014 18:34

Work colleagues know rpopz as the amount of appointments/ testing I've been doing meant it was easier for me to tell them, then they can keep a better eye on me as I'm working in the prison, so they can make sure I'm ok :)

I might try them...

cookielove · 23/07/2014 18:34

zyla I used them they do help but they will be a dead give away!

OP posts:
RPopz · 23/07/2014 18:35

Def worth a try then Smile
