Hiya so this will probably be our last ante natal thread GrinGrin Really hope that our postnatal thread is as busy.
You ladies have been a great support, and it's been fab going through pregnancy with you all. I honestly don't know how I would have got through the last 6 weeks of 4am wakings without you.

I'm not due till 24th and have no signs baby is still coming early so will probably be the last one one here - don't forget me!

Anyway will love you and leave you - actually will now pop back onto our regular thread for a chat Smile

Happy birthing Thanks

Yay plate!! Congratulations! Grin

NancyinCali · 26/07/2014 00:30

DM has arrived so baby girl is allowed to arrive any time now. Due tomorrow so we will see Smile.

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday · 26/07/2014 01:23

Hurray plate! Congrats and a big hug for Joshua.

justhayley · 26/07/2014 03:33

Congratulations plate Grin Joshua is such a lovely name always been one of my favourites. Sorry you had a traumatic labour but the main thing is you and baby are safe are you can tell the tale on MN Smile hope your both well.

I'm currently bouncing on my birthing ball- as you do at 3.30am. Nothing at all happening baby wise. I just couldn't sleep & have a blocked nose that keeps waking me up so thought I'd make the most of being awake and bounce.

Getting a bit sick of the texts and calls everyday asking for news. Especially the people close to me who I would obviously tell and have told on a daily basis that I will let them no. I know people mean well by asking but it really is irritating - especially as it could go on another 2 weeks!!

Aargh moresnow not fun! How is your DS1 responding to change in milk-have you noticed a difference with nappies? I'm trying to figure out whether DS has a bug, last molars coming through or whether it's the milk causing all the extra poo-gone from one or two/day to five ish incl during naptines and night time!! I also had to resettle him with a feed at 4.30am! DD been pretty much awake and fussy since 5am! Just so tired again and got family arriving for the day soon!

dollydaydream27 · 26/07/2014 10:33

Just a quick update today was my induction date. But I gave birth to my baby boy on Thursday after 36 hour labour a third degree tear we are back home all well couldn't be happier ! Will catch up on the rest of the thread today.

GrouchyKiwi · 26/07/2014 10:44

Congratulations, dolly! Trust you're both recovering well.

mupperoon · 26/07/2014 11:14

Well done dolly! 36 hour labour? Eeek.

Huge congrats dolly :)

Hope all ok with Nancy, Hayley, kiwi, mupperoon and everyone else waiting (sorry if I missed you!) Sending speedy labour thoughts your way

moresnow I think not unusual for the elder sibling to want Mummy back to themselves but not easy nonetheless! DS not been too bad but Daddy still on paternity leave so able to help entertain/distract so could be different once it's just me with the 2 DC! He seems to have adjusted fairly well for the moment although I am a bit concerned about his nappies! Good tips on feeding a sleepy baby too! The things we all do to look after our little ones eh?! We have resorted to using a pacifier in the evenings only-DD just so so unsettled and hard work but does seem to chill out with it which is handy. Still waiting for TT referral appointment though.

zing how are you getting on?

Howly · 27/07/2014 02:01

Still pregnant here too, lots of twinges but no baby! Trying not to get frustrated but rreeeaaaalllyyy don't want to be induced!

icklekid · 27/07/2014 03:35

Thinking of you nancy and howly hope it's not too long to wait now!

blue hope you get tt sorted soon- is weight gain ok?

Congratulations dolly!

Well we absolutely melted last night and first thing today will be buying a fan! How we made it to 3am with any sleep I do not know but is slightly cooler now..,

ZingGoesPop · 27/07/2014 09:28

Dolly - massive congrats! Thanks Well done!

Snow - you know on Friday evening I started doing just latching him on every time he woke the slightest, instead of waiting 3 hours between feeds.
He was weighed yesterday morning and had put on 90 g. Still gets top ups, but I think effect of epidural & painkillers are finally wearing off, he was more alert yesterday and sucking much better.

Just had massive meltdown over my phone - it's completely broken. so many lovely photos gone...Hmm I try not to think about it, but it breaks my heart - all waving goodbye to old house on moving day, pg pics, DS5&DD in matching superman outfits etc..

Got a bloody cold too.
Better pull myself together before crew returns from church. I don't want to be miserable on ZingLad's birthday.

(He is 13, so we officially have a teenager and a newborn.
Not much difference though...Wink)

GrouchyKiwi · 27/07/2014 09:58

Happy birthday, ZingLad.

Still pregnant here too. Twinges all over the place but they never amount to anything the bastards.

ismarah · 27/07/2014 10:10

Zing is your phone an iPhone? I might know some tricks / repair people if so.

lentilpot · 27/07/2014 11:17

Still no baby here at 9 days overdue, had two attempts at a sweep but cervix still too high and closed! Hot another try booked on Tuesday then I'm on the induction list for Wednesday.

Zing - are you able to take your iPhone to an apple store Genius Bar? The sole perk of being so overdue is that I took my out of warranty laptop in yesterday (it suddenly stopped working) and they are doing a £400 repair for me for free! I think the man took pity on me, I seriously wanted to hug him and cry I was so relieved!

ZingGoesPop · 27/07/2014 12:07

Kiwi - when is your EDD?

ZingLad is a bloody genius!!!!!
I have a Smartphone and what is wrong with it that it can not be charged. The bit that you attach the charger to is broken, can't be fixed or replaced.
We had bought extra batteries and new chargers - it's the "hole" in the phone itself that's screwed.

So ZingLad was asking DH what about buying a unit that charges the battery separately? If the phone is ok otherwise would that not work, even temporarily so we could download data quickly?
So DH did one better and took charged battery out of ZingLad's phone and is syncing/backing up/downloading everything as we speak.
I can not explain the relief I feel. So happy!SmileSmileSmile

There. That is the reason to have kids. So that one they become smarter than you and you can be so proud of them!WinkGrin

Yes, happy birthday to my clever boy!Envy

I'm still pregnant too! Getting very jealous of all of these babies arriving Envy

GrouchyKiwi · 27/07/2014 13:16

Well done, ZingLad! What a relief.

Zing My EDD is tomorrow. I suppose I should be patient, but my body's been so tricksy that I'm completely over it.

ZingGoesPop · 27/07/2014 14:46

Fox and all who are still pg - try and enjoy all the things you can before baby's out, such as going to the loo when you want to, not holding it in because you are still feeding and dare not to move!Grin

Snow - TT buddy, I spoke to a friend of mine who is a bf consultant, she said there are ways to teach & encourage babies to exercise their tongues.
They have been sucking in the amniotic fluid (eek) for 9 months, so all that time they had no ways of using their tongues correctly.

Once the op is done, they need to re-learn what to do.

So - when baby is looking at you stick your tongue out a fair few times (I get all the kids to do this too) - baby is hopefully going to copy you.

Another one is to put your little finger in his mouth and gently press down on the tongue (say half an inch from the tip of the tongue) - then keeping that slight pressure try and slide your finger out, while he will hopefully follow your finger and stick his tongue out.
what it teaches baby is to curl his tongue around your finger and chase it as you pull it out. It will strengthen the muscles and it's the same movement he needs to do to express the milk.

And as before I highly recommend cranial osteopathy, again as he wasn't using his tongue correctly in the womb, the jaws and palate are probably not as well- developed as should have been, one or two session can make a massive difference!

(I live in Surrey, I can PM you details of my osteopath, who is just fantastic.
Or if you happy to PM me where you live he might be able recommend someone, if you need )

Good luck for tomorrow.

Fox28 · 27/07/2014 15:32

Yes I'm going to try and make the most of it. I've bought a craft project I'm going to start tomorrow on someone else's advice, as the baby is bound to turn up then Grin
