God I need to eat more healthily this pregnancy. Lunch today was pickled herring, tiramisu and a big slab of brioche. Blush

Kirstipops · 22/07/2014 13:56

Great bump pics!
Decided to take 2 weeks off to do a semi intensive driving course (if they let me!) basically ASAP, awaiting a call back, grrrr I'm so impatient. My brother in law is doing it just now, 3 hours driving a day over 10-14 days, dya think that sounds manageable for a distracted sweaty preggo? The prospect of 2 weeks off work sounds bloody brilliant... :S

Have you driven before Kirsti? I tried an intensive course with no prior experience & definitely found it too much. My instructor just broke the number of hours down into several separate lessons instead. I didn't end up passing but that's because i am a terrible driver lol :D

JellyBeansHaveNoAgeLimit · 22/07/2014 14:13

Actually just re-read your post, my course was 6 hours a day with only 1 break, 3 would be much more manageable so you'll prob be fine Smile

Grannyapple · 22/07/2014 14:22

me23 I too am looking into hiring a cleaner at the mo...is bad enough trying to get it done with 2 underfoot, nevermind 3! Plus I'm hoping it means DH & I get our w/e's back instead of sniping at each other over the next house task!

Still got rubbish cough/virus thing going on...ended up working from gone yesterday as I couldn't face getting dressed for work nor walking through the hospital to get to my office. Started feeling weak by teatime yesterday so DH had to put kids to bed whilst I had a bath & some paracetamol. Still feeling rubbish & weeing myself each time I cough...need to back to doing pelvic floor exercises daily me thinks!

Bump pic...27 + 5...

Missus I am very hungry too and at work I don't deal with it very healthily, generally having far too much chocolate and crisps! I try to start the day with granola/greek yoghurt and fruit but it goes downhill from there. I've never known hunger like it!

Grannyapple not cleaning but I had a regular gardener for the summer just because I was constantly nagging DH to mow/maintain it, I didn't want to do it while pregnant, and we've both got loads of other things to do. Only feel a bit odd about doing it!

Grannyapple · 22/07/2014 15:37

Yup did that too hamster..was usually me that did the garden but never enough time to do both cleaning & garden with one in tow at the time...then I got pregnant again & DH wouldn't care if grass was knee high, so I asked the gardeners that maintain our communal grounds if they would do ours too...every 2 weeks it gets done now.

Now just need to find a cleaner we like & that can be ticked off the list!

Captainmcgraw · 22/07/2014 16:24

Thanks for the advice and concern people. I actually took a turn for the better shortly after posting. Have now managed to keep down liquids and even managed to eat some plain rice. Feeling quite a lot improved although just completely wiped out.

mum2kiss · 22/07/2014 16:26

missus that doesn't sound like much to eat for breakfast at all...I'd definitely be starving within about a minute lol!

captain I hope you took advice and sought medical attention. Sounds miserable :(

I am absolutely shattered...For some reason I keep staying up until midnight even though I know I won't be able to get up at 7! Then I'm sleepy all day! Glutton for punishment...

I think the message has finally got through to dp that if he chooses not to help with house work during the week the house will be a mess! There is only so much I can do in my current condition and in this heat all I feel like doing is sleeping! I don't think he realises how much effort it takes to haul this body around to do anything let alone pick up after 3 people!

ohthegoats · 22/07/2014 17:16

I eat a massive breakfast compare to other meals - I'm hungriest then, and it sorts me out for the whole day. I try to manage my food a bit so I wake up hungry (not eating too late etc).

This morning was a whole avocado, ham, tomatoes, egg... followed by a load of yoghurt with raspberries. When I'd eaten that, I ate another boiled egg too.

Meant I could have fruit for lunch without it leaving me too hungry for the afternoon.

fedupofrainydays · 22/07/2014 17:20

I love seeing everyone's bumps. It's really lovely to think of all the little ones we are growing as a group.
Grin

Kirstipops · 22/07/2014 17:53

Same here rainy, looking forward to seeing the baby pics eventually too!

tak1ngchances · 22/07/2014 18:05

Just back from the consultant. Blood pressure was quite low but he said that's normal in the heat. I have put on 10kg total so far!
Also got told he would deliver the baby at 38 weeks because of placenta previa. So I now have a provisional due date of 26th Sept...9 weeks on Friday!!! Am in shock

Wow taking! I didn't know they delivered early for placenta previa. I really have to start talking to my doctor properly... I keep putting it off. Good that you have a date though!

Hope you're feeling better captain.

I am eating like a monster, and with my house a disaster, have no oven connected yet so have been eating pizza and crisps and other such healthy things for the past two weeks. Quite tempted not to connect the oven as quite like the excuse!

I've been lucky in that my job comes with a cleaner, which has turned me into a lazy beast. I'll be even more grateful for her when the baby's here , I'm sure.

YellowWellies · 22/07/2014 19:14

Sparkle I was the same whilst carrying J. I didn't feel anything until 22 weeks and then could go days with no movement. Even well into the third trimester I would only get the occasional kneeing if I leant a book on my bump, later hiccups and right at the end some tickly thumb sucking sensations in my pelvis. I was told it was due to thick stomach muscles (haha was sure the doc was having a laugh) which hadn't separated in pregnancy (they often do but be glad if they don't) and a full frontal placenta. I bet you're the same. This time its nuts how much I can feel and I started feeling it at 15 weeks. I felt a bit left out last time on the movement front but it didn't interrupt my sleep like it is now Envy .

fedupofrainydays · 22/07/2014 19:41

sparkle your scan notes should say where your placenta is.

Feet all puffy today. Know it's the heat. Please can it rain and get cooler soon please please please?

YellowWellies · 22/07/2014 19:49

I have been revelling in our decision (five years ago) to move to Scotland. Man I could not cope with the heat the south of England is getting especially when preggers. It must be so hard Sad My lovely Etsy maternity gown arrived today. It is utterly lush and whilst I should pack my hospital bag and put it in there - it is so cool and weightless I'm loving wearing it in this heat Smile

I can hear DH on the third rendition of "Where the wild things are" Smile

fatpony · 22/07/2014 20:03

I wish it would rain and go all grey and cool (i.e. not rainy and humid)...I'm in London and the heat on the tube commute is not nice. If the weather gods are listening then for this weekend please so I can lie around in the cool and sleep well at night

I can guarantee a way to get my baby moving: settle down in bed or on the sofa with the ipad on a cushion on my bump. Literally seconds later I get movement and kicks and the cushion and ipad are not even heavy! Cheeky little thing...

LondonJen · 22/07/2014 20:12

Ha ha sazzle mine is glorified making! I did look in all the places but found nothing. May have to buy a new one -will need it for baby pics too!

Btw Me23 you def sound as if you deserve a cleaner, it's impossible not admire those of you who have other kids I am exhausted and moody enough just looking after me and bump and hardly doing anything for dp

Kirsti I did intensive 3 hours a day and it was fine, though was not pg or this hot at the time. You will have breaks. It is a lot of concentration -you will prob sleep really well after! You'll know if it's too much. Try it and see how you go. Oh and maybe wear your flight socks, might be bad advice in the heat but will help your circulation, I always find that a prob when driving normally but then I have freaky legs like that!

Woweee Taking! Exciting!

Arm hurts from this afternoon's whooping inj and got myself all teary that it's first 'real' prep for baby's arrival sniff

Kirstipops · 22/07/2014 20:20

ooh what is it like Yellow? I need to get some jammies/nighties/dressing gown that fit me, if I had an unexpected hospital stay I'd actually have to send DH out for some nightwear for me, somehow reckon my current sports bra and knickers get-up wouldn't do :P
captain hope you feel better soon!
oooh taking how exciting to have a proper countdown!!
Goats that breakfast sounds flipping amazing.

Kirstipops · 22/07/2014 20:24

Thanks Jen yeah that's a good idea, even just going going out for a couple of hours with DH in the car a while ago I ended up quite stiff in the shins and ankle area so flight socks are prob a good idea. By the time I get onto a course I'm betting the hot weather spell will have broken, it being Scotland and all Wink

fatpony · 22/07/2014 20:45

Bit worried as just noticed on the side of my Sainsbury's omega 3 fish oil 1000mg supplement it says 'do not take if you are pregnant'. I've taken about 15 over the past four weeks with 15 left in the bottle :( :( :(
From an emergency google it seems supplements which contain oil from the body of the fish are ok, ones which have oil from fish liver are not but mine doesn't say (it's not cod liver oil though), only fish oil, gelatin, triglycerides and sunflower oil under ingredients.
Can't believe I've been so dumb as to not check the side of the bottle - I don't really eat oily fish and know it is good for brain development so assumed it was ok. I may have to ring Sainsburys in the morning and see if they can give a more detailed ingredients list and where the fish oil comes from exactly.
