Hi All,
Congrats to all of you that have had your little bundle's of joy.
Quick question when babys getting ready to come is it true that they are extra active? Im due on the 18th and in the last week this baby seems to be doing somersaults! Although I hope not cos then it will be wrong way round!
I havent even had any twinges beginning to wonder if this babys ever gonna come.
This waiting is so irriating why cant we get a date and a time and voila baby arrives! I wish

compo · 10/09/2006 17:45

Wow, exciting news - congratulations Mandaz and Coffeandcake. Also the best of luck to Normsknockers for Tuesday - looks like i'll be the only one left with a due date of the 12th as I seriously doubt this lo is going to come on time - not tightenings or anything unfortunately!!
Homemama - sorry to hear about your stressful overnight stay in hospital. Fingers crossed for a smooth ride form now on.
To everyone who is fed up - I can sympathise I feel fat, frumpy and knackered. Woke up at 4am this morning with a headache bordering on a migraine and just couldn't get back to sleep to shift it Took paracetmol and eventually it went by mid morning. Luckily dh took ds out this morning as it was lovely and sunny but I just didn't feel up to joining them.
Marls - can't beleive you're thinking of exercising already You are super woman

no Induction date yet tasis I have a hospital appointment tomorrow afternoon at 2pm when the consultant said they would moniter baabies heartbeat and give me a scan to check the placenta I assume if all is well I will just be sent home. I think they give you an induction date of 14 days past due date so will probably be asked to go back on thursday. Im going to ask them to give me an internal and sweep I had one on my due date and they said I was 2cm dilated Im hoping all the on off pains and mucus plug coming away since then has meant I will be further dilated who knows they may even keep me in tomorrow. Its my eldest sons 14th on tuesday would be very odd if they had the same birthday.

Vindy · 10/09/2006 20:28

I'm home with week old baby boy!! 9lbs!!

He was born on 3rd but had infection so we stayed in hospital for a week with antbiotics etc.

Just off to make myself a nice cup of tea rather than vending machine slop! Hope you're all well and will review thread when I get a minute.

I love my home!!

TopBanana · 10/09/2006 20:54

Congrats Mandaz, c&c, vindy, and topbannana on your new arrivals. Still no sign of lo here, but I've let her know that she can be born now because at last we all have bedrooms. The nursery is ready, ds is fast asleep in his own room and after 3 weeks of sleeping on the floor, I have a bed

Compo, if you're making a rule that people can't jump the queue I'm going to aswell- no more babies till I've had mine!

compo · 10/09/2006 21:22

Calvenjoe!! Everyone seems to be having early babies don't they? This thread will be dead by the middle of September at this rate!!

calvemjoe · 10/09/2006 21:41

I'm sure I'll still be here. Think I'm having an elephant!

1Baby1Bump · 10/09/2006 22:52

Hi, 1b less 1 very large bump, 0045 of the 10th Noah weighing 10lbs 12.5oz. Still in hospital due to bleed but Mum and Baby all okay. will be in contact within the next 24hrs. best wishes a very HAPPY DAD and NIN,IN

Marls001 · 11/09/2006 02:15

LC - I'm so sorry and at the same time LOL re: nappy ... the bright side is it'll make an excellent rehearsal dinner story. Hope he doesn?t have chicken pox right now, though.

Compo ? Sorry to hear about headache.

Congrats 1B1B !!!

Congrats Vindy & Topbanana! Welcome to the ?popped? club! Topbanana ? great you?ve no tears or stitches!! Again !

Mandaz ? just read your announcement ? all these quick labors! Congratulations. I really love the name; it?s gorgeous.

When had stitches post-birth, received 4 shots of a local anesthetic ?down there? ? do they always do gas & air instead for that in the UK?

Tassis ? Had about 5 days of v. heavy bleeding - became less heavy yesterday. Not bleeding every time I use the restroom anymore, but still having to wear a thick pad. Still bright red. Supposedly blood will be more pinkish, then brown, before it stops. Stitches still sore, but not as bad as with DS1. Sleep is good for many things.

Claire ? What a great schedule! So glad all?s going so well.

Hi Norms ? Was scared to death re: C-section with DS1, so stitching was an ?extra? my Dr. offered to throw in as a salve, to make me feel better about CS should one have to happen.
Because the incision is already made, from there it?s not a difficult procedure for a doctor (does not have to be a plastic surgeon) to find the two sections of stomach muscles on either side, bring them back together and sew them to each other, down the line, eliminating the diastasis. Stomach muscles are then back in place where they should be from the beginning, so recovery of the appearance of the midsection is faster and easier. Of course I didn?t end up having it done since there was no C-section, so have no more detail on it, but definitely worth asking your professionals about if you?d be interested. My three-finger diastasis from DS1 did close over time with some help at the gym. This time I don?t think I have a large enough separation to qualify as diastasis [fingers crossed] - waiting for Dr. to confirm at 6-week appointment.
Best wishes for your CS on Tuesday; hope all goes very well.

Coriander73 · 11/09/2006 09:16

It's all so exciting...you wake up & yet again more babies!!! Congrats Topbanana, Vindy & 1B1B (10lb?!!! ouch!). Love the names Noah & Sophie...Vindy, does DS have a name yet? Norms, good luck for tm..

Compo, I'm due on Friday but I'll try to hang on until you've had yours first!!!!! Baby not very active to be honest, have the odd movement etc but I guess it's just not got any room to spare! DH getting frazzled..."about time you popped isn't it!" latest comment last night...these men, what do you do with them?!

OP posts:
tassis · 11/09/2006 11:19

redz - not sure about extra movement, but like you I'm analysing every twinge and the waiting's doing my head in!

dreamydowler - hope your appt goes well today and you get your sweep. Happy Birthday to your ds for tomorrow.

Vindy - congratulations! Sorry about the infection. Hope the stay in hospital wasnt' too toedious. I bet you're loving being home!

TopBanana - fantastic news! Another speedy delivery!

1B1B - wow, that's some weight! Hope you're OK

Marls - think gas and air's standard for stitches here.

norms - good luck for tomorrow

Ds has just had his gym class followed by library visit. He got a story tape from the library and wants to lie on his bed and listen to it. Fine my me!!

After reading Mandaz's birth story have just added this to my birth plan:

"I?m happy to have the injection to help me deliver the placenta and to have any stitches necessary. If I have not had an epidural I would like a local anaesthetic."

Gas and air? S*d off! I'll have been throuh enough thank you!

compo · 11/09/2006 11:23

Congratulations 1B1B - love the name Noah And wow, well done for giving birth to such a whopper
Nothing happening here. Am hibernating here as it's so hot again!!

tassis · 11/09/2006 11:31

OK, time to lighten the tone - let's compare how much weight we've gained during pregnancy.

I think I might win...

I'VE JUST WEIGHED MYSELF AND I'VE GAINED ALMOST 4 STONE!!!!

People keep telling me how neat I am, but clearly the weight is spread all lover my legs, bum and back as well as bump. I'm 6 foot so hopefully hide it reasonable well!

compo · 11/09/2006 11:37

I've gained just over 2 stone but already needed to lose a stone so will have 3 stone to lose - eek! Not looking forward to it at all

hannahsaunt · 11/09/2006 11:51

Can I just say that it certainly doesn't look it, tassis!!!! Maybe it's hiding on your back (that's where I put on weight ). I'm sure it'll go v quickly as well.

tassis · 11/09/2006 11:58

HA, you're so kind! I have to say I was a bit shocked myself, but the scales don't lie.

Oh well, i lost all the weight and more after ds within a few months so it should be Ok and there's not much I can do about it now.

Now, I'm off to email you...

liquidclocks · 11/09/2006 12:29

Well you're all goig to hate me coz I've only put on 1 stone (14lbs to you I think Marls) BUT I had a stone and a half to lose so I'm surethat will still be there after I pop! 4st doesn't sound so bad for being 6ft tall tassis - especially if it was really easy to lose after your first!

what happened to meausuring oursleves with loo roll?

Half way through my last monday at work - 1 and a half days to go... yippeee! (did I say I love my job?)
