Wow, I go away overnight and 2 more babies! Welcome William and Georgia!

Mandaz - I look forward to hearing everything!

Hope both of you are well on the way to recovery and healing well.

Homemama - glad you're OK, you've had enough to deal with already. Hope the next few days are a bit better.

Mabel - poor you - I'm sure it's not that he finds you unattractive, he probably subconciously scared of hurting the baby or you. A sweep isn't so bad - same level as a smaear test, just try and relax (I know, easily said!) as much as possible ad don't forget to breathe!

Hope all the new babies and mums are doing well!

I'd like to officially join the start/stop contractions club! Went to my folks yesterday so DH and I could go to see a movie - had contractions from 7.30am ish to lunchtime - had a nap and they went away, then they started again about 3ish and got closer together and stronger until suddenly disappearing at 7.30ish! - All good practice!

Any news from 1b1b?

Marls001 · 10/09/2006 14:18

Mabel - If it is any consolation the sweep is done quickly. Sorry to hear about DH; I think you've every right to complain. Mine's problem as well would have been he might have hit the baby - though I had no sex drive anyway ( you yours) so the point was mute.

Congratulations on Georgia Rose and William Lewis!!

dreamydowler · 10/09/2006 14:26

congratulations mandaz and c+c on your arrivals well done to you both. Lets hope we have a few more soon including mine lol

clairemow · 10/09/2006 14:38

hey everyone!! Congratulations to those who've popped - Micromum, Pol (how incredible was your story - thought my 4 hours was good - and no tearing - wow, I've got 3rd degree... oops) and Mandaz!

I have Fraser on my knee - he's doing really well, put on 4 oz from Weds to Fri last week! And somehow he's already only waking once a night for a feed - maybe it's all the force feeding during the day... I've been waking him, if he hasn't already woken, for feeds every 3 hours (from start of one feed to start of next), and it's working a treat. He is really happy, and we are therefore really chilled out. It all seem so much easier this time - I definitely gwasn't chilled with DS1....!!

Marls, your DH sounds great, doing the night feeds. ! I got out my expresser today, with similar aim, but half of it's missing!! shucks!!

Jenny, I don't really know what to say about the smoking issue - I'm a non smoker, and have never smoked, so can't really understand why smokers don't just stop if they get pg, as the risks of heavy smoking and having a small baby are well known.. Didn't your doctor offer any support for you to try and stop? But on the drinking side, if you were drinking in the first 4 weeks (guess over Christmas last year) then you can't be that different to lots of other people. I understood from your post that since then you haven't drunk at all, which is great. I hope things work out ok for you and your LO.

looking forward to seeing the rest of the announcements as and when...

homemama · 10/09/2006 14:38

Congratulations Mandaz and C&C! And welcome to the world Georgia and William!

Liquid, sorry if I sounded like I was looking for sympathy. Just a bit fed up. 1st pg went so smoothly and this one just seems to be one problem/worry after another.
I am very at your contractions starting. Aren't you due after me? I so much want things to start as I feels so big and heavy. My back aches and nothing fits me.
There was a woman walking around the labour ward on Fri who was there for induction. She was 41+ wks and I kid you not she looked as big as I did at around 18wks! We chatted a little and she said she didn't need to buy maternity clothes until 30wks!!! I just felt like an elephant in comparison.

Mabel, I'm sure it's not that he finds you repulsive just that sex in pg really needs to be mind over matter and maybe he just can't manage that. However, your frustration is totally understandable. Maybe try and talk about it again. Even if the sweep works instead, it's good to discuss how you're both feeling.

Lots of due dates early next week. Good luck to all of you.
Norms, is your elective booked for Tue? If so, good luck!
1B1B, hope you're getting a move on now!

clairemow · 10/09/2006 14:39

oh goodness, sorry, and coffeandcake - well done too!!

homemama · 10/09/2006 14:41

Hi Claire, glad to hear Fraser is doing so well!

liquidclocks · 10/09/2006 15:52

Homemama - you didn't sound like you were rooting for sympathy at all, I just think you could could use a break, it's not been an easy pg for you. And don't be jealous - contractions don't mean labour - probably just means I've got 3/4 weeks of thinking 'is it starting' and then 'oh, no its not'!

Just went upstairs to get DS from his pm nap and - oh the delights of parenting - he'd taken his own nappy off. Poo everywhere, DH went mad, DS sobbing... didn't know whether to feel sorry for him or be anoyed, probably a bit of both. why why why.... and he's definitely not ready for potty training, I can see duc tpe coming in handy!

On a happier note - Last week at work this week - Yay!!!

tassis · 10/09/2006 15:58

coffeeanddake and mandaz - fantastic news and gorgeous names! Well done! I'll go find your other threads in a minute...

puppy your wee "turn" sounds scary. trust you're ok now

cori and LC - much sympathy re the start/stopping contractions, it's tedious isn't it?! I had it last time big style and in the end labour was fast and straightforward so hopefully every contraction is doing some good!

apwd the sweep shouldn't bee too sore, try to relax during it if at all possible as that'll help

How much bleeding ar eyou having marls? What are you like exercising already!! Well done on your wee man in his big boy bed.

homemama - sounds like you had a scary few days. So glad you're OK

dreamydowler - do you have an induction date?

claire - 4oz in 3 days is fantastic, well done both of you! Shounds like you're doing great.

I'm having a spoiling day. I woke up a few minutes ago after a 2 hour sleep and dh has just taken ds out to the park. Bliss.

then you need to apply to join the group and one of us will approve you

try that and shout if it's not happening...

Mandaz's Birth Announcement (hope you don't mind Mandaz)

tassis · 10/09/2006 16:20

well done LC, hopefully you or someone like you will do a link for me when I eventually have this baby. far too technical for me!

did you spot coffeeandcake's announcement too? another speedy arrival...

tassis · 10/09/2006 16:28

LC - just seen your post re nappy. yuck, yuck, yuck.

has he done that before? could he do it if wearing a popper vest? is it almost cool enough to put him in vests?

i hope your dh cleared it up for you...

Coffeandcake's Birth Announcement - there you go Tassis!

Re the nappy incident - I feel shorts might be a way forward - DH had put him down with no trousers on so fingers crossed that will do the trick. Have also just found 5 red spots with white heads on DS's back and one on his arm - I really don't need chicken pox this week, hoping it's something else!
