Morning all great thread title!!, this is probably our last antenatal thread.

What are you all like? I come to the new thread and stumble on talk of orgasms!! and left the old thread on talk of semen lol

Glad you identified that plant liquid, never knew a plant could cause contractions and more importantly that you are ok.

Thanks for tips marls,

do you think my mat belt would do as a girdle? it is just one thick strap.

Hi Puppy!
I'm due on the 23rd dut the first one was born at 38 wks which is what I am tomorrow so any time i guess. The midwife said there is a chance of this one being early as well. I had a scan this week cos they thought it was breech but its turned thank god so I can go ahead with the home birth.

puppy · 08/09/2006 10:31

Great news on your lo turning Jod , great that you could deliver soon rather than twindlng your fingers waiting for labour to start lol. With my DS I started 2 days before due date, fingers crossed this one comes early.

Coriander73 · 08/09/2006 10:35

Marls, I can't wait for the increased mobility again. Its such an effort just to bend over and pick something off floor at the moment.

One thing I've been wondering is, after you've had LO, do you really notice that you feel much lighter around tum? Does it make you realise how much weight you were carrying around?

Its a gorgeous fresh sunny day here today so might go out in the garden in a bit.

Jods · 08/09/2006 10:39

Hi Apwd!
This is my second preg and i'm 4/5 ths too!

mabel1973 · 08/09/2006 10:52

Cori - that's the BABY coming - NOT DH!!!! Good god you are obsessed !!!
Midwifes just been - pumelled me about a bit, said his head was lower and booked me in for a sweep on monday - noooooooo!
Sex it is then - spoke to DH who'd been discussing it at work and reckoned sex didn't work, so I said to him, I'm willing to try anything and quite frankly I'd rather be intimate with him than my midwife..

Coriander73 · 08/09/2006 11:13

LOL Mabel...I know, it just tickled me..(you can tell it's been a while?!!) Go for it...

Morning ladies!
I just had a sweep and it was fine!
I was dreading it but it was no more uncomfortable than an internal and guess what.....?

I AM 3CMS DIALATED!!! Yay!!
Didnt even know!

She (consultant) said I am very 'soft' and she thinks I may have him this weekend. Failing that, I will have him by myself before the 16th when I am now booked in for induction.
That's what she thinks although I know she could be wrong.
She said I won't get any pain following the sweep but I feel very heavy under the bump now and I'm getting twinges.
If I am induced (ARM) they wont let me in the pool so the baby must come out before then. This weekend ideally as dh doesnt have to work this saturday.

I'm excited, but I don't want to get overly so in case nothing happens.

Coriander73 · 08/09/2006 11:44

Cool 1B1B!!!!!! Keep us posted

compo · 08/09/2006 13:19

excellent news 1B1B. Did you know she was going to do a sweep by the way? My next midwfife appointment is next Thursday when I'll be 40+2 if lo hasn't arrived on time. I was wondering if midwife would do a sweep or whether she'd do one another day. Want to mentally prepare myself and also get 'donw there' ready iyswim Don't like surprises!|!!

Bella23 · 08/09/2006 14:20

Afternoon ladies

Gosh sounds like we have ladies popping all over the place. I am due a week today but absolutely not twinges so I have a feeling I shall be late.

1Baby1Bump - 3cms dilated already - wow sounds like its going to happen for you over the weekend, fingers crossed for you!

All this talk of sex has got me going - we haven't had sex this year!! as have totally gone off it and as first timers didn't want to damage anything etc. Might give it a go though so we can get things moving - will be good to remind myself what an orgasm is!!

Well not a lot else to report here apart from feeling quite hormonal and snappy. Think its due to not sleeping very well and worry of impending pain - just want to get it all over with and meet this little one!!

Hope everyone else is well xx

Coriander73 · 08/09/2006 14:23

Don't worry about the sex Bella - I was the same last time & this time around...it does come back!!!!

By the way we're both due a week today!

mabel1973 · 08/09/2006 14:59

1B1B - great news am a bit but who knows I could be dilating as we speak!
Compo - I am sure your midwife wouldn't do a sweep without arranging it with you first, my midwife said to me today that the optimum time for a sweep is 41 weeks, I've got mine on monday when I'll be 40 + 5, so at 40 + 2 might be a bit early anyway. Besides, you don't have to have one if you don't want one.

dreamydowler · 08/09/2006 15:19

hi ladies Im now 8 days overdue and still nothing yet.I feel like Im going to be pregnant forever. I have had lots of niggles and discharge since my sweep last wednesday but baby just doesnt want to come out. hope its soon as feel huge and fed up

1Baby1Bump · 08/09/2006 15:19

i saw the consultant a week ago as i was so large and in pain. they made an appt for me to go back today, but if they hadnt done, mw said she would come today and do a sweep.
when i got into the consultants office i said the mw said she would sweep mw if i was still here and the consultant said 'well we can do that now for you if you like?'
i said yes please!
i think it may be because they think i am hoarding a ten pounder though! im not sure.
i think once you go over they are happy to do it if you ask?
i only have 7cms of pain to get thru!!
with ds i was up the hosp on g&a at 3cms!!

1Baby1Bump · 08/09/2006 15:20

dreamy, can you get another sweep?

dreamydowler · 08/09/2006 15:36

Im due to go to the hospital again on monday for a scan and heart trace Im hoping they will agree to another sweep then. My last child was 9lb 1 born and she was 2 days early. This baby has been measuring big for dates all the way through but they have said they would rather let nature take its course. Im going to go for a hilly walk get down on all fours to clean floor and have some naughties this weekend as would really like things to be over before this baby reaches elephantine proportions

1Baby1Bump · 08/09/2006 15:45

ds was 9lb9 a week early.
your lo was big so i would def ask if i was you.
its your choice at the end of the day.
cant hurt to ask. a sweep is not exactly a major thing.
i would have thought they would prefer to possibly help you along rather than let this oneget even bigger.
do they have any weight predictions?

1Baby1Bump · 08/09/2006 15:47

plus youve had one sweep anyway.

compo · 08/09/2006 15:48

thanks for all the info on a sweep eeryone. Didn't have to bother with ds as waters broke in the night at 40+2 and then it all kicked off - really hoping for the same again this time.
Dreamy - so sorry you're feeling fed up. Hope all that activity this weekend gets things moving for you.
1B1B - great news about being 3cms dilated already

1Baby1Bump · 08/09/2006 15:49

thanks compo, im over the blinkin' moon!

liquidclocks · 08/09/2006 15:54

Dreamy - have you tried nipple stimultion - that's been proven to be effective and I'd be doing it at your stage.

1b1b - that's great news! Things will get going soon I'm sure!

Bella - don't have to have sex to have an orgasm...

dreamydowler · 08/09/2006 16:03

apparently they dont do weight predictions anymore and my consultant said there is more evidence of emergency treatment needed if induced
