Lovey photos coriander, shes a cutie!

1b1b 3cms thats brilliant, lets hope things kick off this weekend for you

Liquid you rant away if need be, I wouldn't hav been happy either.

Congratulations pol , well done on a 35min labour , he has a lovely name looking forward to seeing any photos.

Calvemjoe glad alls well and I hope you don't go to far over your dates, i know what you mean about flashes of panic, I keep thnk omg!! I might have a lo this time next week yikes!!, its the getting a epidural in time I am mainly worrying about lol and this sounds daft but I also worrying about going to the toilet after too.

Jenny sorry but I have no advice, although I smoked when I was pg with DS but managed to stop at four months, he is a healthy boy. Good luck with stopping I appreciate how hard it is, and don't give up you will get there

Congratulations micromum looking forward to reading your birth announcement.

Norms it is fun checking in, I get up give DS his brekkie and dive on here with a coffee to check lol

Nothing happenning here, was not well yesterday evening :
Went shopping with dh, I had to come out while he paid and bagged things up, my eye sight went funny, blurred vision parts blind like tunnel vision and in parts of the areas I could see was like looking through puddles of water, quite hard to describe. Called my step dad and he came on his way home from work to check me out, bp was ok and he thinks it was a migraine, but I had no pain! after that I laid down and slept for 12 hours , back to normal this am. It was scary.

Hope you all have a good weekend.
pupxx

congratulations micromum and pol. What a speedy birth pol hope mine goes as well when she finally decides to make an appearance. Im now officially the last to give birth from the due in August thread Thanks ladies for making me feel welcome on your september thread.

Coriander73 · 09/09/2006 10:01

Wow Pol & Micromum!!! Pol, you've made me feel rather tearful when you say that DD realised that yes you had been carrying a baby inside after all this time!!! Do hope my DD takes to him / her sibling as well!!! Lovely name...I have a cousin Benjamin who I adore

Well, thought we were in labour last night!!! We were watching CSI when I just started having really painful contractions. However as there as been no show / waters breaking I just thought it was Mr Braxton Hicks having a laugh!!! So DH starts to panic just slightly.."Do I need to ring my Mum" he says..!! I say no, false alarm etc & disappear to the toilet. Come back & just feel that they are here to stay....anyhow, decide to go to bed & sleep it all off (!!) but cannot get up the stairs because it's too painful at that point. DH comes down to find me & accuses me of not being honest with him that obviously I'm in labour etc... So in a nutshell get to bed, sleep really well & here I am feeling normal!!! The thing is when they were kicking off I thought I'm going to try without an epidural..??!! Gosh, I don't know now how I'm going to cope..... Personally I think the baby picked up on my adrenalin from watching quite an intense episode of CSI!!!!

Jenny....sorry to be blunt but with the amount of information a/v to all Mothers' in today's world about the side effects of excessive substance abuse (whether smoking / drink / coffee etc) you should have known better. I do hope for your sake & that of your unborn child she / he is OK....

Congratulations to Pol and Micromum. Pol - what an amazing birth story and love the name
Coriander - ooh, an eventful night for you!! Hope you are okay today and something happens for you too. I'm having a few minutes on here whilst ds 'helps' dh in the garden!!

liquidclocks · 09/09/2006 10:40

Puppy - while unusual it's perfectly possible to have a migraine aura followed by nothing - it does occaisionally happen to me. If you google Alice in Wonderland Syndrome and migraine together you might get some interesting reading. What you describe about looking through a puddle is pretty much how my vision was permanently before I started getting proper treatment - weird isn't it?! Nice to sleep for 12 hrs!

JayJep · 09/09/2006 11:20

Good morning ladies,

Well I hope that something might happen for me today. I have the most tingliest and sensitive boobs, a lot of pressure in the bottom of tummy and bum and it feels likes there si someone twanging an elastic band down my spine. O hope it's not just wishful thinking wink

mabel1973 · 09/09/2006 11:27

Congrats to Pol and Micromum! Great to hear the details actually Pol - I feel ready to take it on and go in to battle now!
Jenny - not sure what to say, on a positive note a friend of mine who is a nurse did tell me that what you do in the 1st four weeks doesn't actually affect the baby ( I was concerned about heavy drinking over new year - I didn't know I was pg), however at the end of the day it's well known that smoking and excessive caffeine whilst pg can mean low birth weight and other problems, as Marls says, you won't know the extent of this til the birth of your baby.
So far today I have had double dose of rapberry leaf tea, a walk up to the shops with DH and DS (DS trying out his new ride - the double buggy), a tablespoon full of Olive oil (!) we don't have caster oil and quite honestly I will try anything (it was disgusting by the way - you think you like olive oil drizzled on a nice bit of ciabatta - drinking it is entirely different!).
Have accused DH of not wanting to have sex with me - you know men have these hang ups about poking the baby in the head or something - honestly - you'd think he's take pity on me!

Woodelf · 09/09/2006 11:52

Congrats to Pol and Micromum! Shucking them like peas now aren't we? . Off to check out the birthing centre at Mayday this afternoon - all nice and shiny and new but need to ensure I can get in there when the time comes....
Feeling huge and bubba still squirming like mad but no progress apart from that.
Jenny - do talk to all the professionals you can as there is support out there for you as you must be worried sick - take care.

apwd · 09/09/2006 16:05

I've been booked in for a stretch and sweep a week on monday - just before I reach 40 weeks, this is cos I had a 3rd degree tear with DS who was 8lb 130z(big first baby and I'm only little) and which left me with 18 months of pain and discomfort. So they said they would try to start me off early so baby isn't too big. It weighs approx 7lb (last week). Is the stretch and sweep painful? I'm quite anxious about it as still shudder at the thought of someone broddling about up there with all those scars!

Coriander73 · 09/09/2006 19:00

Tearful...fed up.....queasy.....DH just home & has critised my attempt at making home made thank you's from DD (he is excellent at all manner of craft but I try my best!) then just said, oh you've done an excellent job at cleaning DD's bedroom then (we never got around to it)?...Plus DD peed over the armchair....first accident in weeks...does she sense I'm not on the ball?

Am off to watch How do you solve a problem like Maria...

Congratulations Micromum & Pol!!

LOL Mabel on the olive oil

APWD - unsure on the stretch, but as I tore ( Pol!), I'd take it!! The sweep was really not bad, so don't worry about that.

Still at "red" on the red-pink-brown spectrum of stitches healing, and had a sexual dream last night! That'd be a bad idea right now.

Definitely anxious for things to return to normal though! Can't wait to begin running again too.

Both Mom and Dad here right now. DS1 definitely getting spoiled. Thankfully MIL coming too before we are left alone with him & baby to take care of ...

DS slept in the big boy bed first time last night! Did well; didn't get out of bed - dreading when he finds that he can, though

DH has been taking the night shift since DS2 was born! Has taken 1 week of paternity leave and just decided to do every night this week, while he can. Times will get much harder beginning next week. For now, it has been wonderful to be able to rest while healing "down there" and dealing with mens'-club-pole-stripper-sized sore breasts.

Marls001 · 09/09/2006 19:13

Oh please Cori; let him try carrying a basketball around for a few months.

tassis · 09/09/2006 20:39

Cori, sorry you've had a bad day. I'm tearful and fed up too. I just really want to get this baby out. And I could still be here for weeks. I'm just so uncomfortable. Ds has had a grotty day with a sore throat, cold, major limpet, many tears - aaargh.

Marls - glad you're getting lots of support.

homemama · 09/09/2006 20:48

Hi ladies,
Sorry I haven't posted but spent all of yesterday and last night in hospital.

I hadn't felt baby move since around lunchtime on thurs so by thurs night I was very anxious. Went to bed, couldn't sleep, up at 3am drinking ice cold water. Still nothing. Went in at 6am on fri where I was relieved to hear heatbeat. Trace showed baby was fine just not very active.
However, all sorts of things were discovered in my wee and that coupled with a headache and slightly raised BP was enough to be kept in. They took blood and cultured? (is that the right word?) my urine sample overnight. Turns out no infection or pre eclampsia just foreign bodies in my wee! It's been put down to the nookie we had the night before. DH has said I have to control my urges and that I'm having no more sex until baby comes.

Anyway, baby seems active again so hopefully all is well!

Great news Pol and Micromum! Hope you are both doing well (and LOs of course!)

I had a sweep on my due date last time as very uncomfortable. It didn't hurt at all and labour started very quickly afterwards. I was very grateful!

I must, must, must get round to posting on the Yahoo thingy. Sorry for being slack ladies!

calvemjoe · 09/09/2006 20:59

Congratulations Micromum

I'm still here and pregnant, 4 days over and nearly ready for this little one to arrive, today we have painted nursery and ds's bedrooms. Tomorrow we'll be moving furniture into the new rooms and rebuilding our bed and then she can be born.

Take care x

calvemjoe · 09/09/2006 21:00

oh Homemama Glad everything is ok for you now x

Marls001 · 09/09/2006 21:16

Homemama - whew! So thankful it was not serious.

Have been v. frustrated not being able to start exercising yet - but now have found some I can do RIGHT NOW & have posted these to Yahoo files section in case anyone is interested.

Marls001 · 09/09/2006 21:17

Calvemjoe, you're just crazy, girl - rebuilding your bed.

jenny31 · 09/09/2006 23:19

thanx to all who replied just to reiterate i did stop drinking at 4 wks and had been drinking heavily over christmas which is why that worried me... not because im an alcoholic im actuallly t total now and have been for 7 months. i went on the net and looked up foetal alcohol syndrome and microencephaly after i posted message last night and freaked myself out even more, it says drinking at all esp in 1st trimester effects a higher percentage of people than realised. anyway stopped smokin again 2day. 14hrs and counting!! spoke to a girl with same prob(small head)today and midw told her there was nothin to worry about. After research it suggests that though smoking is responsible for low birth weight and respiratory disorders the small head if a problem would be down to microencephaly, or foetal alcohol syndrome caused by even a small ammount of drinking during pregnancy. its amazing how many people think its ok to drink in pregnancy but not smoke (follow the smoking thread) all should know that the drinking is just as bad if not worse. Ill just have to wait and see. thanx to all well wishers.

micromum · 10/09/2006 08:47

Good morning Everyone

Thank you for all your kind words and support, me and baby are doing really well, i'm bottle feeding and she woke at 11.30, 3am (dd2 came in and wanted to help feed baby, but she went straight to bed when baby was fed )and baby is still asleep, but my other dd's woke at 6.30am.

Baby sleeps alot at the moment but it is only day 2, i'm waiting for the feeding frenzy to kick in.

2 dd's are really good with her, they are desperate to give her a bath, feed her chocolate and buy her toys (so far she has a Dora and now she needs a pet fish).
.
Good luck to all those due/overdue they will be here soon, just try to relax and stay calm.

Coriander73 · 10/09/2006 09:30

Hey Mabel, chin up Personally I'd prefer a sweep than sex but then again I've been off it all year haven't I?!! I'm sure the sweep will get things going.....your baby is going to come out very soon....just wants to make a grand entrance I'm sure!!!

Had William Lewis Thursday morning at 4.25am!

Tried to post a couple of days ago, but couldn't figure out where the new thread was (but I think I may be excused the dopeyness!)

Congrats to Pol.

Will post the gory details on the birth announcement site.
