Hi,

Tentative post here - got 2 faint BFPs on Sun/Mon (period only due yesterday.
EDD seems to be between Feb 28 - March 1st depending on whether I use standard 28 day cycle or adjust to my 30 day one.
DC2 for me - DS was 8 days late so think I'm more likely to belong in the March club than Feb.

Will do another test in a couple of days to get the elusive dark line so I don't think I'm making it up

Hope someone else joins me soon.

eatscake that's unbelievable Shock A massive breach of trust. I'm not surprised you haven't been back since.

5+3 today. Exactly the stage I was at last month when I started miscarrying. Feeling incredibly nervous which isn't helped by the fact that I've had some cramping today. I'm hoping to make it to the end of the week then will call my midwife and see if she can arrange an early scan.

bouncesky · 14/07/2014 18:02

That's awful eatscake. Well the tears kicked in today! My sister turned up with her 1 year old to visit unannounced and so woke me from a nap. She asked why I was sleeping at 3pm which is completely put of character as I work so much (self employed) and then I proceeded to burst into tears! I am crying over everything and anything for apparently no reason! I have never felt so tired and emotional Hmm It will all be worth it in the end!

fourmonthstogo · 14/07/2014 18:13

That's awful eatscake how thoughtless of her! I'm hoping they manage to be discrete at my gym, my daughter's swim teacher is in the class sometimes and I don't want her asking about it in front of dd!

Littleturkish · 14/07/2014 18:41

Welcome ladybird and other newbies!

Feeling pretty good apart from the tiredness. I have officially huge breasts- it's been noted by friends, the officially confirmation of big-boobieness.

I wake early feeling sick but nothing otherwise. It was around now with DD that my ulcerative colitis kicked in, but so far, touch wood, nothing. Thank god. My summer that year was a total mess and I spent it in agony and panicking I would lose the baby. Hoping for an easier time with this one.

Only three more days of work left but SO much to do. Anyone else lost all work motivation??

Safra72 · 14/07/2014 19:14

Can someone add me to the list please, I got missed!!

Safra72 #2 edd8/3

Thanks.

bouncesky · 14/07/2014 19:16

I have completely lost all work motivation too. Which is really unlike me as I run my own business employing 7 staff and I just cannot be bothered with any of it at present! Really struggling to get anything done! I normally work all day with clients and them emails and reports in the evening, that isn't happening now! I've also started taking time off (to try and nap) when I can if I have staff in that can cover me.....which is unusual so they are getting suspicious!

eatscakefornoreasonwhatsoever · 14/07/2014 19:21

littleturkish - good luck. One of my best friends has UC and it's really putting her through the wringer. Not fun at all x

And yes yes yes to the loss of motivation. Another one who's self employed here and I have just let everything slide completely, not checking computer except to read MN, not looking at emails, not chasing anything up - it just doesn't seem important atm somehow... I know it will come back, but just so atm

Littleturkish · 14/07/2014 19:27

eatscakes thanks, I've had it for years and it's linked to my eating disorder (great combo- severe stress and eating very small amounts of green vegetables, beans and nuts) so have managed to have it under control since the both of my DD last year- really hoping I can get through nine months without a flare.

So glad it isn't just me who has lost the love for work. However, I've got a weird desire to read- now I normally love reading but never find the time for it, but I've managed to read a couple of quite serious novels and have loved it...could it be that pregnancy has made me crave words?!

eatscakefornoreasonwhatsoever · 14/07/2014 20:03

mine has made me crave... something... but not sure what.

I find myself hanging in front of the open fridge wondering "am I hungry? Or maybe thirsty? Or perhaps I'm horny...? I honestly can't tell"

MooMaid · 14/07/2014 20:33

If it makes anyone feel better (Apple in particular) my symptoms disappeared over the weekend except for a mega cramp in my stomach at 3am this morning that had me panicking.....

Wake up at 7am - nausea met toilet and has hit me hard all day today so don't be too disheartened if symptoms disappear. I actually think Dr Google worries me more than sets my mind at rest - everything is a 50/50 for MC and normal.

11 hour sleep last night - WOW

ApplebyMennym · 14/07/2014 20:57

MooMaid thanks so much, that really does make me feel better!

I had some pretty bad heartburn earlier (started by bending over when hanging washing out), it's not something I get very often so I'm logging it as a pregnancy symptom! I've also gone off my favourite drink and have been having water all day which is very unlike me.

I'm having to go to the EPAU alone on Thursday which is bothering me. We have nobody to leave our toddler with and while they haven't expressly said we can't bring him, I can't imagine I would want a hyper toddler running around in that situation. I'm imagining being told the worst, then having to get the bus home alone..

woodlandwanderwoman · 14/07/2014 21:09

Gosh so much to catch up on! Huge congratulations and welcome to more newbies, really exciting.

I have felt the same way about symptoms coming and going, it seemed to be every other day but today nausea has hit me hard. I feel reassured symptoms are there but sick as a dog, only in afternoons. I don't remember it being this bad the first time round with ds, maybe I have blocked it out or perhaps it's a girl!

yy to losing motivation too, I don't work but I'm the kind of person who is always busy doing something and have found I have a complete lack if energy, all I want to do is sleep.

I think my EDD is a bit earlier than previously thought, from lmp it was 7 March but from conception (I know the date) it's March 3 making me 6+6. Or maybe I'm just glad to get a few days out the way easily and this is desperate measures. We have an early scan booked Saturday so should find our more.

I've told a few strangers too, including booked a few pt sessions to try to avoid putting on 3.5 stone this time (fx all being well) with a better nutrition / weight / exercise plan. Will let you know what I get... From experience those "just a couple" of biscuits piled on more pounds than I realised last time!!

M27J5M · 14/07/2014 21:26

Littleturkish can I ask how you dealt with ulcerative colitis during pregnancy? I have colitis and they've been testing for ulcerative or chrones but lost test results both times! I've been told it'll get worse during pregnancy

Littleturkish · 14/07/2014 22:21

M27 I warn you now- this is going to sound really bleak and moany! But read to the end- it has a happy ending!

Ok, so first trimester from approx week 7 I started flaring and losing blood, this continued until about week 15/16 (despite taking meds that normally work) and then it got better for a bit. Hit the last trimester and it was back, got really anaemic and had to have an iron IV. Blood levels went up to borderline acceptable, had baby and suddenly, everything was alright again and I haven't had a flare since.

My meds were safe to use in pregnancy, so that made it easier. I can't take iron tablets as it makes my flaring worse, so that made the whole anaemia thing worse, but the IV did the trick nicely.

When I called up two days postpartum to try and get another iron IV as my blood levels were (understandably) low again, they tried to book me in for a colonoscopy!!! I've never refused treatment so vehemently in all my life. Can you imagine??? Insanity.

Losing your results is shocking though- what does your consultant say?

M27J5M · 15/07/2014 00:14

Consultants don't know what to do with me, I'm on the highest dose of asecol which is fine unless I have a flare up then I need to get put on steroids too, have been transferred to another dept at hosp so that's in 4 weeks so will just need to wait and see what they say and keep my fingers crossed I don't flare!

Glad to hear you've been ok since last flare/pregnancy :)

Updated list with Safra72 and also because I realised that actually my EDD is 16/3 not 23/3. Completely forgotten that AF was on 9/6 not 16/6.

Did a Clearblue Digi on Sunday night which said 2-3 as I was worried due to lack of symptoms and realised that I'd forgotten when my AF was. Went back to check diary and doh!

So slightly further on than thought.

Scenic - WOW! That's fantastic news, Congrats!

Currently up in the early hours with DD4 who is screaming blue murder from teething.

Slightly concerned re lack of symptoms although (and not meaning to scare anyone) I had severe sickness last time and had a silent miscarriage between 10 and 11 weeks.

After experiencing hyperemesis 5 times I'll be more than glad to give it a miss and makes me wonder if this one might be a boy?!

My stomach looks massive already. Aim is to do Slimming World during this pregnancy so as to minimise weight gain (I am overweight) and keep as healthy and active as possible.

I went from a 10 to a 14-16 with DD4 and still haven't lost the weight. Well aware that I will probably be having a c section cries so want to keep the weight down for that reason alone.

ZebraZeebra · 15/07/2014 06:27

Hi everyone - have been absentina because of DS's SHOCKING sleeping these last few nights. Going to sleep at 7pm, waking at nine and staying awake until 4am and then up for the day at 6. SHOCKING. I was tearing my hair out but I think I might have missed an ear infection. Doh. Anyway, think it's back to normal now. Crosses fingers

I have quite a lot of anxiety about the labour, when it comes around. I had a terrible experience the first time around - an unnecessary experience - and while I agree, mentally it's better to be flexible and roll with what happens, I also don't think we should just be aiming for "mum and baby alive" at the end. We should be aiming for more than that. But then I put my experience entirely at the hands of the people "caring" for me - medically there wasn't much wrong. I ended up going through the complaints process and while things were acknowledged and apologised for, it's left me with a lack of trust in the midwives for this time.

I'm also hesitant to speak to much about this because of the first timers. Birth is no walk in the park, it's bloody hard, but there's no reason we can't work to make it as positive experience as possible. All I would wish for all of you is to have caring, empathetic care providers around you who support and advocate YOUR choices. If we could afford an independent MW or doula, I'd be clinging onto her for dear life :)

Not much in the way of symptoms here but I think I'm only about 6 weeks. But please don't worry, though I know it's hard. A mantra that helped me: today I am pregnant :)

Special cuddle to Persepolis the day that you miscarried on last time has passed now. Hoping for a very healthy pregnancy onwards and upwards from this point.

Eatscake that's awful! Entirely unprofessional and insensitive of your friend. I don't think I could go back to her classes :(

ZebraZeebra · 15/07/2014 06:34

Oh and my BIG tip for ear infections - raw onion juice! I'm pretty sure DS has had a bad one - he was writhing around, not wanting to lie down, clearly wanting to sleep but crying and shouting from 9pm-4am for three nights running. Exhibiting all classic signs of an ear infection. I looked up natural remedies and apparently onion juice is the bomb for poorly ears! Day one of squirting onion juice in - he sleeps ten hours. Day two - he's currently on his 14th hour of sleep! Result.

Surfsup1 · 15/07/2014 06:40

Hi Ladies,
It looks like I'll be joining you in March (EDD around 6/3).
This will be DC 3 for me. The first two were only 18 months apart, but DS2 is now 5, so I've finally recovered enough energy to consider going again!!
Off for a dating scan next week.
Not actually feeling very pregnant other than a significant loss of abdominal tone!

notoasthere · 15/07/2014 06:47

Welcome surf

zebra a mentored doula might be within your reach - often they only charge 2-300. If you are very low income then there is an doula ukaccess fund that means you can have a doula for free. Doulas will often accept payment plans - if you really want a doula, there will be a way to get one :)

5+6 today - mild nausea, bloating and terrible skin, along with sore boobs are my main symptoms. I'm also v tired but I'm having crazy dreams which don't help me sleep at all!

ZebraZeebra · 15/07/2014 07:02

notoasthere thanks for the tip! Would love a doula. Oh god myself and my husband used to earn so much working in the city - I laugh at how much we earned! Now we have one child, another on the way, and we're both self employed, just about breaking even each month. Self employment is a great step and has so many benefits but boy can it be hard! Well actually I'm 85% SAHM and 15% self employed. Do you have any links for the UK access fund? I don't know if we're considered low income - we live in London and have hideous rent but we're earning enough to meet bills, but it's probably over the threshold. Can only check it out, I suppose :)

ZebraZeebra · 15/07/2014 07:04

*Enough to meet bills but very little left over.

notoasthere · 15/07/2014 07:17

The threshold is possibly going to be too low doula.org.uk/content/doula-access-fund

But I'm a doula (not currently working as one) and would easily put feelers out for a mentored doula, or one that works on a sliding scale. Depending on what you and your oh do, you could do a skills exchange as well - lots of doulas are happy to be paid with a service rather than cash!

ZebraZeebra · 15/07/2014 07:28

Ooooh there's a thought! I'm in digital marketing so would definitely have skills any self-employed person needs. We are the "squeezed middle", I think. Earning too much for any kind of help but just getting by each month.

notoasthere · 15/07/2014 07:35

Know that feeling all too well sadly!
