Hi,

Tentative post here - got 2 faint BFPs on Sun/Mon (period only due yesterday.
EDD seems to be between Feb 28 - March 1st depending on whether I use standard 28 day cycle or adjust to my 30 day one.
DC2 for me - DS was 8 days late so think I'm more likely to belong in the March club than Feb.

Will do another test in a couple of days to get the elusive dark line so I don't think I'm making it up

Hope someone else joins me soon.

I just texted that to dh!

This morning I want to know where all the wee is coming from?! I've been 3 times already since arriving at work!

fourmonthstogo · 11/07/2014 08:40

MG My Dh does far more of the washing up and hoovering than I do, to be fair he is so much better at it than me there is no incentive for me to try harder! Not sure he has ever got the mop out though.

eatscakefornoreasonwhatsoever · 11/07/2014 09:05

Morning all. Thanks for the support. It means a lot.

Just wanted to offer a hand to hold to Terrys, I hope you're OK love.

For those in the services (Foscar and MGFM is it?) Wow - I don't know how you do it. I like my home comforts when I'm feeling fragile and glad I don't have to 'put on a show' at home. Hope the next few weeks speed by so you can tell people, but it is hard that the nausea and other horrible symptoms are usually worst at this point before we are 'safe' enough to go public.

Took another test this morning and the line keeps getting stronger. Even DH can believe in it now (think he thought I was hallucinating the first one as it was so faint!) He's so so happy. Keep talking to my tummy and saying he can't wait to tell everyone. Lovely man. He's always supportive, but he had a few wobbles when I fell pg with DS (overwhelmed I think) so I'm really enjoying us both being happy and excited together this time - probably why I'm not letting on to him how nervous I am.

Tummy feels very tender this morning. I am tired, but that is largely due to spending the night in a single bedwith a very restless and upset 2 year old

FoscarC · 11/07/2014 09:36

My dh is being very good too - when he is home. He also chortled at the statement that I am burning more energy laying on the sofa than he does in the gym. He has been reading the partners section of my book and being very interested and involved as much as he can.

I went to dinner last night at my sisters. They served champagne to toast my very newly arrived niece as I was there and my parents were over. I got away with only having 1 glass as I was driving. And sneakily managed to pour that one glass down the sink. Then my BIL wanted help shifting furniture. But somehow managed to avoid that too, although he looked at me like I'd become the laziest person around. Food wise I don't know. Not found I've had to avoid anything yet. I don't get much exciting food. Normally meat and veg which I can eat.

MGFM · 11/07/2014 09:55

I have just come back from the gym. They have these new spinning bikes that have a video screen on them. You plug in your ear phones and an American on a spinning bike takes you through your work out. It is truly fantastic, like having your own personal trainer, he shouts things like, ' You're an athlete, and you can do this, and just push it a bit harder'. Love it!

The whole alcohol thing is an issue. I was in the mess 2 nights ago and the medics were having some sort of party so there was a fair amount of drinking going on. I had a 7up free from all those nasty things like caffeine and then moved onto water. Someone who had had a few already offered to get me a drink, I said no thanks, he asked what I was drinking, I said water. He scoffed, took my water off me and poured it on the floor! I don't really care what these people in the mess think of me not drinking but I am having a BBQ next weekend as my parents are visiting and I have invited so many people. I am sure I will be the only sober one there! I might just pretend I am drinking.

This is essentially the online version of the leaflet I got! The salad thing was knew to me didn't know about that one!

Glad your line is getting stronger eats cake my DH also didn't believe it at first I think and then there was no doubting the line! He hasn't said much though yet..certainly not rubbing or talking to my tummy!

What book are you reading foscar? I hope to get DH a bit more involved!

m27 yes also struggling to sleep waking up really early and disturbed sleep at night yawn!

Rainbow555 · 11/07/2014 10:04

Xpost mg yup the drinking thing will be tricky with certain friends of mine! We are having them for dinner on Sunday (if I feel up to cooking by then) and she is a day time drinker and I know she will ask why
Might say I am doing dry-July!!

M27J5M · 11/07/2014 10:07

Aww in thought it was just me, glad to hear I'm not alone! I always wake early and then just when I eventually start falling back asleep my 5yr old decides it's time to get up lol

dashoflime · 11/07/2014 10:45

Hello, just signing in.
Got my BFP 2 weeks ago. Due date 1st March. Very excited!
It'll be my 2nd kid, a brother or sister for 2yr old DS.

MGFM · 11/07/2014 10:46

Rainbow That list seems very severe?!? I don't eat sushi as I have a wierd phobia of raw fish but I have read elsewhere that certain types are ok. I had hummus the other night as well. The list I am working off is simply no soft cheeses, pate or cured meats. Not too much oily fish and no sword fish (not that sword fish was a regular in my diet...I mean we live in the UK) I think there was another fish that was a no go as well but I can't remember. I am a Salmon, Cod and Haddock sort of girl with the occasional M & S lemon sole as a treat :). I think the dos and donts with food can get a bit out of control.

What do you all think?

FoscarC · 11/07/2014 11:01

MGFM I agree. I am avoiding pate, soft cheese and cured meats and will not eat rare meat now or eggs unless thoroughly cooked. No more runny yokes for me! And shell fish. Although I think prawns are ok. It's more the oysters and raw shell fish that are a no no. I think it's fish like shark and marlin we have to avoid as they are high in mercury. But I don't eat Them anyway as they aren't really available much in the uk.

I am eating humous and salads and cold meat sandwiches. We are just advised to wash salads well. There's no mention of cold meat or humous in UK guidelines as far as I know. It's one of these things that changes constantly. It's so confusing.

rainbow I have 2 books. Love a good book to filled with information!! I have 'what to expect when your expecting' and then 'mumsnet guide to pregnancy'. The mumsnet guide is great. Very funny and easy to read. The other one is also good but less funny.

FoscarC · 11/07/2014 11:41

Oh dear. Husband has made mistake number 1!!! He is on his way home (hurrah) and just told me that he'd been looking at some photos of me pre wedding (early June) and that he had forgotten how sexy my 6 pack looked and that he doubts we'll be seeing that again for a while. I am now gutted as yes, my 6 pack is now a barrel! Not that it was ever a real 6 pack anyway. But just good tone and definition. He said that he thinks I look beautiful still as I am now growing our baby but still feel shit. I just look fat and spotty and greasy. It's hideous!!! At least when you get a proper bump you look all pregnant. Now I just look like I've eaten too much (which I really have been doing lately!)

persepolis123 · 11/07/2014 12:06

Hi everyone, please can I join you?

Just found out I am pregnant and have told nobody yet. Due around the 17th of March. Not entirely sure as I miscarried on the 6th June at 5+3 weeks and haven’t had a period in between.

I already have a beautiful son who is two in November and would love for him to have a sibling close in age.

dashoflime · 11/07/2014 12:20

Hi Persepolis (waves)

Brummiegirl15 · 11/07/2014 12:37

Hi all

Can I please tentatively join? Got a BFP on Wednesday and today I am 3+2.

I say tentatively as I was in the March club but sadly I suffered an mc so I'm pretty shocked at moment and utterly terrified I have to admit.

Stats are:

Brummiegirl15, 37, TTC#1 mc May, EDD 25th March 2015

Am going to be on knicker watch for quite a while me thinks.

I hope to get to stay on this thread.

FoscarC · 11/07/2014 12:48

Welcome brummie and fx for this one. I think we are all on knicker watch but it must be really hard given your history.

Also welcome perse. Fx for you too and hope this has a happy ending.

Dh has just won back some husband points. A graze box full of yummy treats has just been delivered to my desk. From him I hope! And just at the perfect time. I'm starving!!

eatscakefornoreasonwhatsoever · 11/07/2014 12:49

I have to say - I ignored the eggs thing last time and ignoring them again. The chances of salmonella in a UK egg are minute and even if you did get it, it would affect you, but not the baby, so I'm prepared to risk it. Steering clear of everything else, mind. Even caffeine. Which is absurd, because I rarely need it more :) But not prepared to risk it.

Foscar - I did chortle at you avoiding lifting furniture. When you have a toddler there's no way to get out of the heavy lifting. Hoiking him around, hoiking the bike around with him on it. Trying to dismiss any fears as that women have been working in fields and having babies for years, not to mention hefting solid toddlers around and staying pregnant, so I'm probably OK. Not much I can do about it anyway

Brummiegirl15 · 11/07/2014 12:57

I admit I'm still drinking diet coke - but only 1 can a day which is 42 mg of caffiene and you can have no more than 200mg

But all booze given up and runny eggs plus usual stuff. The 1 x can of coke is my 1 thing!!!

Sp1rals · 11/07/2014 13:15

I woke up today feeling completely normal after feeling queasy and full and full of air for the last few days. I have been here before and am kind of prepared for it. My question is, after getting a 2-3 weeks on a clearblue yesterday does anybody know how long it should take for that to go down to 1-2 weeks if I test again and if I am no longer pregnant?

FoscarC · 11/07/2014 13:45

sp1 oh no! Don't say that. I feel absolutely fine today and am really beginning to panic. No sickness. Nothing. And I'm worried it means something's wrong. I have no idea about testing but really hope hope hope that you are ok and bean is sticky.

M27J5M · 11/07/2014 13:50

Try not to panic sp1, I've had a few days where I've woke up feeling fine but gradually get worse as day goes on!!

Just went into my fridge and seen the tub of pate lol so wish I could eat it Hmm

Sp1rals · 11/07/2014 14:06

I'm sorry I don't want to panic anybody, it's normal to feel normal at this early stage. It's just that I am usually sick almost from moment of conception! This exact time 5 years ago this same thing happened, I woke up one day and felt fine and I just knew.
But that doesn't mean it's the same for any of you guys.
An aside.. One of the most irritating comments ever came from a colleague during my last pregnancy when I was sick as a dog, she told me she didn't get morning sickness because she had a 'stronger stomach' than me.

bouncesky · 11/07/2014 14:11

I haven't got many symptoms today either and I know what you mean about worrying! Hopefully we'll all have sticky beans though! Fingers crossed.

eatscakefornoreasonwhatsoever · 11/07/2014 14:13

just fell asleep on the sofa whilst DS watched Beebies

Have done fuck all work today, too. The joys of self employment

M27J5M · 11/07/2014 15:29

That's a bit insensitive for her to say, morning sickness effects us all diff, doesn't matter how strong/weak your tummy is :/ aww hopefully that's not the case for you sp1, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you
