Hi,

Tentative post here - got 2 faint BFPs on Sun/Mon (period only due yesterday.
EDD seems to be between Feb 28 - March 1st depending on whether I use standard 28 day cycle or adjust to my 30 day one.
DC2 for me - DS was 8 days late so think I'm more likely to belong in the March club than Feb.

Will do another test in a couple of days to get the elusive dark line so I don't think I'm making it up

Hope someone else joins me soon.

As in, sorry, can the GP refer you straight for the scan, or do you have to fill in the ton of paperwork in triplicate with the midwife first?

madasacatter · 09/07/2014 15:13

I'm not sure on the specifics where you are, but here the doc sends off for the scan and also refers you to the midwife at the same time. Then the midwife calls to arrange an appointment. If it's the same for you could you explain to the midwife that you would like a later appointment when she calls?

notoasthere · 09/07/2014 16:04

Here we have to book in with the midwife to get a scan date

ZylaB · 09/07/2014 16:11

Ok, I was in the hospital for 4 and a half hours!

I saw the midwife, blood pressure etc, then had a scan!! All looks good, well as good as it can look at 5+2, saw consultant obs, then diabetic specialist nurse, then dietician, then midwife again, had loads of bloods taken, then went to see a different diabetic nurse!

And I'm going back to do it all again in 2 weeks lol

All good though at the moment

TerrysNo2 · 09/07/2014 16:57

zylab did you see a heartbeat? I know it's really early for that but just wondering. I think you should definitely see a heartbeat after 6 and a half weeks but earlier is not always possible. If my expected period was in fact implantation then I would be 6+3 tomorrow and I'm hoping to see a heartbeat but I might not be that far.

ohfourfoxache · 09/07/2014 17:05

eatscake - thank you x

Bloody hell Zyla, sounds like you saw half the hospital!

PickledPorcupine · 09/07/2014 17:19

Thanks for symptom sharing everyone. Not happy about these spots! Mine is now massive, it'll need it's own postcode soon.

ZylaB · 09/07/2014 17:33

No heartbeat this time, but will hopefully see that in 2 weeks :)

TheScenicRoute · 09/07/2014 20:19

Hello! I'm due on 2nd March. I can't believe I'm saying that! It's been a long hard slog to get here, 4&1/2 years TTC, my 6th and last IVF attempt and well over £30k spent getting here! Today I booked my booking appointment and it's so weird to be talking about 'my midwife' lol! So I'm 6+2 today and my symptoms have not followed to usual route! Day after I suspected implantation (in retrospect) banging headaches all day, I actually had to resort to paracetamol and I was desperate to avoid that. Then weeing every 10-15mins at work -I knew then! That was 4 days after implantation. Tested with the faintest, almost imagined line 5 days post implantation. Then the palpitations and severe anxiety kicked in, I was petrified of miscarrying, but thankfully I started to relax a bit after a week post BFP. My boobs are denser, but really not that sore at all Shock and absolutely none of the holy grail sore nipples symptom that I just assumed every woman got and always desperately looked out for. I am eating like a horse and have been none stop burping since before my BFP! Morning sickness started to creep in for me on Friday, very gently it's getting a little worse each day. I've been wearing SeaBands at work which have been fabulous at easing the symptoms (so much so that I have to remove them to check that the nausea will actually come back and that I am still pregnant!). I've taken a leaf out of a colleagues book.... A very plain cheese sandwich, crusts cut off and cut into 9 little squares, then I nibble one 9th of a sandwich on the hour every hour to keep my blood sugars steady, no matter how ropey I'm feeling. Actually, I get great relief from any mild nausea I feel by eating.... I'm going to be a Heffer before I reach 14 weeks at this rate! I was looking forward to loosing weight! Oh, yesterday I suddenly stopped taking any pleasure from hot drinks ( I usually drink fruit tea) but after a sip I am so unimpressed that I just can't face drinking anymore! This is a shock! I love a hot drink sat in bed in the morning, I'm just down to orange cordial or water now. I'm really looking forward to the heightened sense of smell - weird I know, but this phenomena fascinates me! I keep sniffing coffee every day but I still haven't gone off the smell yet lol.

Sorry about the huge monologue of introduction, I've arrived to this thread a little late and had so much to get off my chest - I feel like I've known about the BFP for months and months already!

I'm really looking forward to getting to know you all. I cross my fingers every day that this is meant to be, and pinch myself every night to check this is still real! I wish us all the very very best of good luck. Please please let it stay this way for us all.

X

That's amazing scenic, congratulations!

ohfourfoxache · 09/07/2014 20:31

Oh Scenic how WONDERFUL! Congratulations! X

ZylaB · 09/07/2014 20:36

Congrats scenic, sounds like a long hard route to get here, so congrats again! :)

notoasthere · 09/07/2014 20:39

aaah scenic that's amazing, congratulations and welcome to the group

ApplebyMennym · 09/07/2014 20:59

How lovely Scenic - that made me a bit teary! Huge congratulations on your pregnancy.

eatscakefornoreasonwhatsoever · 09/07/2014 21:04

Oh Scenic - wishing you every hideous symptom in the book if it reassures you! :)
I didn;t get sore boobs at all first time round. This time I think it's just because my milk has come back in with a vengeance, but my nipples are fine - so don;t use that as a benchmark. It by no means universal!

And yes, my MW friend says the best way to fend off nausea is eat little and often and start before you even lift your head from the pillow :)

junkfoodaddict · 09/07/2014 21:07

sore boobs which usually disappear 2 days prior to priod and here I am the night before and still very sore. Now and again the soreness doesn't seem as bd.

Sickly feeling in the evenings

Cramping as though period is about to begin. Scared it might but I remember clear as bell that I had this for six weeks post pregnancy confirmation.

Tired!!! So blood tired. Thought it was end of term tiredness but it seems intense and getting comments about my tiredness at work too.

BUT ... Last night was a faint positive (friend said it could be an evap line) and this morning I got a negative - both Tesco brands. Confused, impatient and bloody anxious about it.

I was going to re-test today but I thought I'd wait until tomorrow evenng as AF due tomorrow morning (I am THAT regular!) and I will buy one tomorrow night and re-test Friday morning when officially 1 day late.

Anyone shed any light on what evap lines are? I thought I saw a faint line after 3 mins but the light wasn't great - I could have been tricking myself.

eatscakefornoreasonwhatsoever · 09/07/2014 21:15

evaporation line = literally a tideline where the pee has dried.

junkfoodaddict · 09/07/2014 21:44

It was pink. Still an evap line?

TerrysNo2 · 09/07/2014 22:23

evap lines take a while to come up, I think anything within 10 mins is not an evap line. FX your line keeps getting darker!!

scenic I can't even imagine how you're feeling right now, what an amazing journey and here's throwing sore boobs your way Grin Wink

I have no symptoms except cramps (all over just above my lady bits. Also I have been feeling really wet down there, like my period is about to begin and my cm is really jelly like and is a little bit browny. Sorry for TMI but anyone else had this??

FoscarC · 09/07/2014 22:53

terrys I have a lot of creamy cm too. And often worry ive got my period only to discover it's just a flood of cm. nice!!!

scenic that is just so wonderful! I'm so happy for you. And yes, let's hope we all have very happy healthy pregnancies. I think it's understandable to worry. I do.

I am exhausted today. Absolutely shattered. And my husband has been sent overseas far far away and I can't speak to him and no one else knows we are pg. and I'm just so tired and feel a little miserable today. Can't wait for him to get home (we only live together at weekends anyway as we both work away). I live with a load of blokes (not in a weird way, we all work and live together) and none of them have a clue why I've suddenly turned into a complete heffer, eating everything in sight and keep complaining about them playing music late as I'm so tired. I just feel like everyone must think I've turned into a big (fat) pain in the arse. I can not wait for 12 weeks so I can tell them all.

fizzyrubbish · 10/07/2014 00:31

Congratulations scenic Smile

Junk food if the line is pink then it's a BFP. Evap lines are colourless.

Good luck.

PickledPorcupine · 10/07/2014 04:50

I've got that wet feeling too, keep checking down there to make sure everything's ok.

Foscar Are you going to tell anyone else? My DH doesn't want anyone else to know but it's so hard not telling my mum as we talk about everything daily.

In fact I'll throw that question to everyone, who are you telling this early?

notoasthere · 10/07/2014 06:05

foscar are you military?

We've told parents as my ms is meaning I'm needing help with ds (I don't get help normally) and I've told three friends, one due 4 weeks before me and 2 who I see weekly and would guess well beforehand - I have such massive bloat that I look six months pregnant already

Lots of vivid, vivid dreams overnight.....I wake up feeling more tired than I was when I went to bed!

PickledPorcupine · 10/07/2014 06:09

notoast did you tell them early with your first pregnancy?

Littleturkish · 10/07/2014 06:39

We've told parents and close friends. I would tell them if I miscarried, so have no issue telling them I'm pregnant.
