Congratulations becky. ismarah and biscuits.

I'm counting down the hours until we can go home! Had first nappy explosion today. Had to take DD's vest off downwards!

It's a good job I got some tiny baby clothes. The newborn drown her!

Sorry no personal messages - struggling on phone still!

lemonpoppyseed · 30/06/2014 22:17

All these babies on the last day of JUNE!!

Congratulations, all! Grin

Have just had a call from my OB, asking me to come into labour ward tomorrow to be 'checked'. She is not happy with some results of Friday's ultrasound, and wants to double check for low levels of amniotic fluid. She said (rather ominously, I thought), "Be sure to bring your bag..." Eek.

MIL is here to look after DS so DH and I have just decided to head out for dinner - might be our last chance for a while!

Off to finish packing bag...

AuntieMaggie · 30/06/2014 22:23

Congratulations for all the other new arrivals - still on my phone here as still in hospital... I'm going for the record for the longest stay/most things wrong... Blood transfusion anyone?!

Incapinka · 30/06/2014 22:35

Congratulations to all the July babies born in June! So exciting to read about their arrivals and makes it more of a reality.

Having another wobble at the moment. I am usually such a positive person yet there are regular moments when I feel like I am verging on being depressed and hate it. Everyone is always asking how I feel and how excited I must be and the majority of the time throughout this pregnancy I have just faked it. There have been times when I have felt genuine excitement but on a whole they have been the minority. I am just hoping that once the baby arrives things will settle down and my concerns of not coping with 2 will be unjustified. Don't get me wrong this baby is very much wanted. It is just I have such an amazing DS and I am just so worried that this will effect it for the worse or there will be something wrong with the baby meaning I will end up neglecting DS. God I hate hormones!!!

Tried to explain to DH that it is also frightening contemplating birth again especially this time that there is the pressure of how inconvenient a c section would be as he is so busy with work and training for IM which I know on the scheme of things shouldn't matter but in reality it would affect both of us. Also if I did have a cs I can't see how I can get around having to look after a 20kg toddler who is going to need a lot of reassurance after his world has changed. See I am over analysing what hasn't even happened yet...

I just so easily slip from being ok to downright miserable and I know that must make him miserable and I am sure he will have been talking to his coach about how miserable his home life is at times. I am probably being paranoid but if it were me living with an emotional roller coaster then I would need to vent to someone. I am also really good friends with his coach's girlfriend and she has been in contact a few times recently asking how I am and how things are which makes me think he has been saying how much more he enjoys training than being around me. Just like I am venting to all of you guys. Sorry!! To be fair to him he has been around more in the last week (he hurt his hip) and has a week off from Wednesday so hopefully we will stop tiptoeing round eachother. God I hate being pregnant!!!

I don't expect anyone to have read all this or comment but it does feel better to vent to some other overly hormonal people!

And carry on as you were!!

justhayley · 30/06/2014 22:36

Wow 3 new babies - it's been a busy day today.
Congratulations Becky, Jbiscuits, and ismarah hope your all doing well. ThanksThanksThanks
How many July babies did we get in June iv lost count? I really thought mine would be a June baby am now hoping that she's not an August one!!!

Collie here is the link to the postnatal thread
@www.mumsnet.com/Talk/postnatal_clubs/2105466-JULY-2014-WE-HAVE-BABIES

Who mentioned a new list? Have no idea where our last list is, maybe worth starting a fresh one for those who are still posting as I'm sure we've lost loads. There's a little list on FB I can copy and paste that but there's not many of us on it - guess it's a start though.

Here's my stats if anyone starts a new one

Justhayley EDD July 24th Girl

How are you doing now itsalways? I keep bumping my bump into things the last few weeks - have no spacial awareness with my new size lol. Also everytime I wash up my bump gets soaked - no idea how or why, is this happening to anyone else? Hope your ok now.Brew

Great news that baby is still head down plate? Nancy is yours still where she should be?

Iv been slightly concerned with the amount of energy iv had today was the same the day my waters broke with DS. Really not in the mood to go into labour tonight lol.
My shed arrived at 11.30am and literally from then until about 5 I spent the day in the garden - not resting actually doing stuff. Pulled up all the weeds, mowed the lawn, trimmed 2 trees and dug out the back where mud had taken over the path. My neighbour said watching me is giving her heart attacks lol. Garden looks totally different though and am relieved it's all done in time for baby (because all babies care what their gardens look like) lol.

To be honest I think the reason I started was because for the last 2ish months iv had a really strange craving - wood chip, dust and dirt Confused!! The smell of wood or an old train station literally makes my mouth water - oh gosh now I'm really fancying it. It's really frustrating as obviously I can't go and eat my shed been very tempted so it's a craving that I can't resolve. Was in B&Q yesterday and was almost licking the floors it's driving me crazy. My mum was the same when pregnant with me & my brother, over the years when she's mentioned it she actually licked a wall in an old church hall iv thought she was exaggerating it's only now I really get it. Think my family need locking up - tell me someone else has this??
Anyway when the shed arrived today my garden just smelt of wood it was the best thing ever - felt like all my Christmases and birthdays had come at once lol. I didn't want to leave the garden and the smell so thought I'd do a little bit of gardening until the craving wore off - it didn't!
It's really bad actually, a few weeks ago I had it walking passed a building site it drove me so crazy to the point I couldn't think. I saw a dusty wall on the street really shouldn't be admitting this licked my finger dragged it along the wall and then put my finger back in my mouth ?? I'm horrified thinking of it but it was so good!

Just had a long bath with my clary sage as muscles were feeling a bit tight. That oil is so good. Even if it does nothing for labour i find it so calming and relaxing I love it, everyone should rush out tomorrow and buy a bottle.

My birthing pool is being delivered tomorrow morning - so excited.

Off to bed now - will probably see you at 4am, although 2 nights ago when I bathed with the oil I slept through also DTD but hoping it was the oil and I get the same again tonight.

NancyinCali · 30/06/2014 23:24

Yay for new babies! So exciting, congratulations mummies.

Yes still head down as far as I know hayley Smile

However, new complication has emerged. I tested positive for Group B Strep. Not sure if they test for it in the UK? Basically means I have to have IV antibiotics in labour and go straight to hospital when labour starts. Bang goes the plan of staying home as long as possible. Nothing is more important than the baby being well (she's at risk of getting very sick if the infection passes to her during birth) but I'm still pretty down about it. Birth plan going out the window before I've even written it Wink.

mummytobejuly2014 · 01/07/2014 00:25

congrats on all the june babies.
have 38+4wk appointment tomorrow at hosp, supposed to see consultant about induction at term (11th july) although today ive been a bit worried about amount of urine output not being anywhere near as much as ive drank. its a pale straw colour so im assuming no infection. was at breastfeeding class in hosp tonight & have had stingy eyes sincem
wonder if any of that is cause for concern?

icklekid · 01/07/2014 00:46

incapinka just wanted to say I hear what you're saying, it's not ridiculous it's reality! Hope you and dh get some time together to talk it all through!

hayley sounds like some odd cravings you've got there but that much effort in one day is not something I can approve of! My garden desperately needs weeding however if I bend over I feel very sick so can't face it. Have also got sone sage clery oil and enjoying baths with it in!

Oh dear nancy yet another thing to worry about, at least they found out and can help both you and baby to make sure you are both healthy...

mummy hello due date buddy I would love to be induced on due date but as no medical reason doubt it will happen. Midwife appointment on wed will ask her then what plan is after full term... ready whenever you are baby!

Had call from health visitor today coming next week to say hello etc. Other than offer raspberry leaf tea anything else I need to know? Wink

Very unimpressed at wide awake feeling sick at 12.30... long day tomorrow no doubt ..

ZingWhale · 01/07/2014 01:05

ickle

if they ask "any sign of baby yet?" the correct answer is "yes, my pg belly"

similarly "are you still here? " deserves "no, it's a hologram from ages ago. I had triplets 6 months ago, forgot to tell you. oops"

Q: "boy or girl?"
A: "yes"

Q: "is she/he teething yet?"
A: "no, we decided not to. order baby dentures though"

Q: "is baby sleeping through the night yet? "
A: "no idea, I'm out partying"

I have a shed load of these. so fed up with

Ah, and when visitors come to see the newborn and ask "are you having anymore?" just say "yep, back next week to get the younger twin out"

(depending on who is asking choose from Wink Grin Confused Hmm Angry faces.)

So July babies, who is going to arrive first? Smile
I actually can't believe I made it to July ( 38 weeks today! ) with all the stress that's been going on since mid-May.

Auntie

transfusion - poor you. I hope that's the worst thing that happened.
I really hope you are ok and will recover & feel better soon.
Can you believe you are a mum now?
Shock Smile

big hugs to both you and your DH, his head also must be spinning.

OP posts:
ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday · 01/07/2014 02:11

hayley I'm doing alright thanks! Spotting didn't come back after I changed my pad, and baby moving as normal. Just a bit of a shock! I'm fairly clumsy anyway (I get water on me when washing up even when not pregnant!) so must remember that my balance is off even more at the moment.

incapinka just to say understand mixed feelings. I was actually thinking today about how tired I am and how I couldn't imagine having to look after a toddler at the same time as going through pregnancy and birth. Plus I know how even though I don't want DH to drop all his social life, I do get jealous of the fact nothing has really changed for him yet - he can still go to gigs, drink beer, not get out of breath just by walking up a short hill... And I think he bears the brunt of my hormones!

zing - nice comebacks. I'm running out of ones for "you're 35/36/37 weeks?! But your bump is so neat/tidy/small!"(sometimes accompanied by head tilt and a "are you starving that unborn child?" look for extra annoying ness.) any ideas?

auntie sorry that you're having such a rough time of it c

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday · 01/07/2014 02:13

Aargh, fat thumbs...

auntie sorry you're having such a rough time of it considering everything else you've been through. I really hope things start to improve!

Right, I'm going to attempt to sleep again.

icklekid · 01/07/2014 02:13

Love the responses zing may need to bookmark this page for future usage!

auntie lots of prayers for you and dh.

Why am I still awake?
Tried getting up, lying down, sitting up, bouncing, eating, drinking, toileting. ..you name it Sad

May just give up entirely-would running a bath wake dh?

icklekid · 01/07/2014 02:15

Its glad bleeding stopped and baby still active etc. Hope you get some sleep

NancyinCali · 01/07/2014 02:34

Oh goodness auntie I missed your post about the blood transfusion. Thinking of you!!

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday · 01/07/2014 02:34

ickle ooh a bath! That's actually really tempting...

Hope you get some sleep too.

justhayley · 01/07/2014 02:52

Morning ConfusedAngry
Wow quite a few of you in the 2-3am club I usually arrive a bit later.
Have you all not been asleep at all, or been asleep then woken up again?

Gosh I missed the transfusion post, Auntie when is that happening or has it already? How can one person go through so much it's not right. Was hoping the rubbish was all over for you now baby had arrived. Hope your as ok as can be.

Zing I LOVE your replys - you could make a mini book out of those, you would please pregnant women everywhere!

Oh no Nancy that sucks. I don't think we are tested for that here, unless it's part of the 28 week bloods? I don't really have a clue what iv been tested for I really should find out before letting them loose on my blood. Don't get down about change in future birth plan, I honestly think they are a waste of time anyway. Not sure how similar yours is, but in our antenatal books one of the questions in the birth plan is about the position we plan to deliver the baby in Shock my answer was just whatever position I'm comfortable in at the time. I don't no why this question really bugged me but as if you can plan everything down to your positions! Hope your ok. Xxx

justhayley · 01/07/2014 02:53

Ps remind me not to check this thread in the daytime or before I go to sleep, I'm all caught up and now have nothin to do, quite enjoy my usually 4am MN reading!

Incapinka · 01/07/2014 04:53

Thank you my lovelies for listening (or reading!) my waffle. Am just so sleep deprived already. I am just hoping that this baby is similar to DS in the sense that my sleep improved once it was out.

Auntie - how are you? Transfusion? Hope it weaves some magic

Fab answers Zing.

NancyinCali · 01/07/2014 06:16

My main birth plan was the same as with DD1: labour at home until my doula says we have to go in and then be as active as possible once at hospital. And use the bath and shower in hospital during labour. I'm feeling a bit better after some research and as far as I can tell the only bit that will change is the labouring at home part. Need to check on the rest with midwife this week.

Here they test for the group b strep with a vaginal swap between 35-37 weeks.

Anyway, hope those of you that were awake in the night got some more sleep. Lights out time for me Smile.

mixi82 · 01/07/2014 06:33

Whilst I'm still awake, which won't be for long, thought I'd like to say a massive thank you to everyone on this thread for their support.

Really tough labour and delivery. My waters went at 3.30am, even heard an audible "pop pop" and shortly followed by a gush every few minutes. I had strong contractions in my back so went for pethadine, daftly as it made me feel drink as a skunk and didn't actually get rid of pains. Got moved to LW where I went from 4cm to fully dilated in 4 hrs, which is very quick apparently for first baby?? Then I pushed like a trooper with a bit if gas and air towards the end.....but consultant came in and found baby facing wrong way up so got rushed into theatre for a forceps delivery. What a tough ride but pleased and very proud to announce, we had a beautiful baby boy last night at 6.20pm weighing 7lbs exactly. Both me and baby Oliver William doing great now :)

icklekid · 01/07/2014 07:03

Arhh mixi congratulations! Forget the full moon for causing babies to arrive- loads just did not want to be part of the July gang! Sorry to hear about drama at the end but hope you and Oliver are doing well now.

nancy that is basically my birth plan (without a doula) stay at home as long as possible and stay active throughout. Want to try water birth see if it helps relax...very prepared that none of the above may be what happens though.

hayley yep I'd been to sleep about 10.30 woke at 12 until 2.30 then last night amazingly slept until 6! Normally awake at about 4 as well... still shattered and feeling sick. Don't think it helps knowing dh is a 3h drive away today and tomorrow all day...he should be able staying over but choosing to come home which I do appreciate but still. Please don't come today or tomorrow baby!!!

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday · 01/07/2014 07:57

Congratulations mix¡ and hello Oliver! The 30th June is a popular birthday :)

Plateofcrumbs · 01/07/2014 08:18

Congratulations mixi Smile

I don't know - forceps, blood transfusions - we're not doing very well yet for beautiful birth stories am starting to think ismarah had the right idea but hope everyone is enjoying the results of their labours!

Plateofcrumbs · 01/07/2014 08:20

And nancy that is v frustrating about the group B strep. I got swabbed when they were doing the (now hopefully unneeded) ELCS prep but not sure it's done here otherwise??

Collie1806 · 01/07/2014 09:08

Congratulations, mixi! I love the name.

Overjoyed it's July. I can officially say I will definitely be giving birth at some point this month! (Hopefully sooner rather than later)
