The consultant booked me in for my elective cs on our first meeting.

My first growth scan is on Tuesday. Im equally looking forward and dreading it at the same time. I want to see her again but I know she will measure small on there stupid growth chart they've given me.

I hadn't intended doing a birth plan due to the cs but I think I will write a few bits that are important to me like skin to skin in theatre if possible and for her not to be taken out of my sight unless theres a emergency oh and no formula milk. When I had my first which was also a cs he got taken to special care and they gave him a bloody bottle I was fuming as intended to breast feed luckily he still took to it.

YellowWellies · 28/06/2014 20:52

Gun yes they're both important to me too - skin to skin asap (either me or DH) and if formula is absolutely necessary then only the dairy free nutramigen we have. I'm not going to flood this one with cows milk on day one and have months of CMPI hell - if it can be avoided.

magichandles · 28/06/2014 21:34

Pregnantagain7 that's pretty much my birth plan as well Grin

mum2kiss · 28/06/2014 22:02

I understand exactly what you are describing pregnant! My boobs are the same! I'm hoping I means my milk supply will be better this time :)

Pregnantagain7 · 28/06/2014 22:24

magic I loved my last two births with epidurals! I totally understand that they are not for everyone but for me they great, I am starting to panic that as this dc4 there might not be time for one this time!
mum2 glad to know I'm not the only one with crazy boobs! I've always struggled with bf so hopefully you are right :)
Is anyone having strange cravings? Mine are crazy hot food, ice lollies and prosecco!

porcito · 28/06/2014 22:39

Mmmm prosecco... I would love a bottle of red wine right now. I've been having mad cravings for fish and chips, which don't exist here. A taco from an old lady on the corner doesn't quite beat the chippy in my opinion.

I've been SO thirsty this week. I'm normally pretty lazy with water, but I've been drinking it like it's oxygen.

Does anyone else have a return of morning sickness? Over the past few days I've felt like I did right at the beginning. I'm grateful to have had a few weeks' break, know some of you have suffered the whole time! But still, enough!

YellowWellies · 28/06/2014 23:07

I had that itchy boob thing first time and my MW blamed milk duct development. I was like a Guernsey cow Confused I could fire milk across the room in the first few months Shock Blush . I haven't had it this time I'm hoping its because I was BF into pregnancy this time and they're already ready? Mindst I've pals who BF really easily but never had the sensation. It was really irritating, I wanted to take my boobs off as if anything touched them it was maddening.

Kirstipops · 29/06/2014 09:10

Pregnant yes I have an orange Del Monte ice lolly every morning on the bus on my way to work, one of my 5 a day I say! Grin

I haven't got any cravings...its weird because I thought going dairy free would have me gently caressing a pint of milk every evening but nope!

We went into town yesterday and I had a voucher for a free drink and cake in John lewis. Dp wanted to see if they had any good deals on tablets so figured we may as well head to the restaurant at the same time. The queue was enormous so we scrapped that idea...and ended up down in home appliances where we got a great deal.on a new bosch washing machine :) :) :) I hate out current hotpoint one so this is super exciting...still couldn't persuade him to buy a buggy yet but we have a washing machine ;)

YellowWellies · 29/06/2014 09:45

Mum2 if you can find a dairy free cake in John Lewis let me know! During my 16 months dairy free the only thing I could eat in JL's cafe was popcorn Envy

YellowWellies · 29/06/2014 09:45

Or are you still eating butter and dairy traces?

binkybunny · 29/06/2014 12:12

Btw John Lewis have a clearance sale on at the moment. Sat in the cafe trying to resist going and buying the entire Baby Joules rails of clothes! Have just spent 30 on a changing mat... trying to decode if thats excessive for something thats going to get covered in poo?!

FlipFantasia · 29/06/2014 12:12

We bought a new car! Well, mini van...Honda odyssey. I can see why it's do popular with families (where we live seems like every other family drives one). It's so fancy - all push button technology and space. Will be fantastic to drive!

And now we can finally get a car seat for this bubs...

FlipFantasia · 29/06/2014 12:13

I miss John Lewis - I love that shop! Nothing as nice in the US (the helpful staff were always my favourite).

fedupofrainydays · 29/06/2014 12:43

£30 for a changing mat?! Yes a little excessive Wink

I love baby joule. My mum got ds some stuff and I loved it. Also bought my friends with new borns some of their cute babygros. Just wish it wasn't such a rip off!

fedupofrainydays · 29/06/2014 12:47

I've got the itchy boob thing. Not really badly but usually at night.

Really tired today - ds and I slept over at my sisters house and he didn't go to sleep til 8.30 then appeared smiling at me at 4.45 this morn and chatting about an owl. Ugh. Tired.
And someone hit our parked car and hasn't left a note :(

And ds just body slammed my bump on the sofa - feeling bit scared. Since felt baby move so hope all ok.

At my midwife appointment on Monday she had a right good dig about my tum to feel how it was lying (at my request), she was proper kneading right into me like i was a lump of dough so I'm confident your little one is absolutely fine in there fedup :)
DH dreamed last night I quietly gave birth in bed and matter of factly informed him (when he woke up and rolled over) that we had a baby girl, as I sat there in bed bf'ing our black haired little one hehe.

Dp and Dd had no intention on letting me near the cake yellow lol. I am still eating dairy traces If it doesn't list milk as an ingredient so no cake for me or butter!

£30 sounds like a lot of money for a mat alone!

mrsb87 · 29/06/2014 15:19

sparkle try www.figleaves.com they have quite aa a the range on there Smile

Georgebythesea · 29/06/2014 17:16

Has anyone else started getting braxton hicks? My tummy went ridiculously tight and heavy on thurs to the point I had to lie down and has carried on that way on and off since.Got it checked out today and apparently baby has turned head down so probably why I'm so uncomfortable and also doctor reckoned I was having braxton hicks. They are pretty intense! Good prep for labour I guess! They also checked my womb to make sure I'm not going preterm but all looked fine.

YellowWellies · 29/06/2014 17:26

Mum2 bugger I thought they'd finally got a dairy free option! JL's parent room is my fave place to BF in central Edinburgh - lovely views across the city, comfy chairs and loos big enough to bring the buggy in.

Binky given change mats are £3 in Asda - £30 is possibly a tad exuberant. Wink

YellowWellies · 29/06/2014 17:28

Fed up don't worry - MW really manhandle your bump in labour - don't worry xxx

Kirstipops · 29/06/2014 17:37

Yep George I have, very irregularly though, first time was about a month or more ago, then a couple of times in the past week. Moving about helped shift them on for me, and a good opportunity to practice my natal hypno deep breathing!! Hope you don't feel them too bad, you've had enough to contend with!

OP posts:
cabster · 29/06/2014 18:50

george been getting them since 18 weeks, and almost always when it's really inconvenient, had a pearler earlier when trying to change DD's pooey nappy
