Check out nursing bra shop.co.uk. My sister had a boob size off the scale (i think I or J!) and only place she could get ones big enough! I was a G and got a really good one that did not leave them sagging and was non underwired. But think they do wired options too! I then shrank to a small c after bf! Reckon I'm an E at the mo. I will be going to that website to get more nearer the time - I knackered my nursing bras last time!

fedupofrainydays · 24/06/2014 22:41

Collected my ergo 360! Already love it! Grin

YellowWellies · 24/06/2014 22:44

Fed up Argh don't tempt me - I wants one!

fedupofrainydays · 24/06/2014 22:45

Ha ha - shall I post a pic to tempt you?? Nooo that would be mean.

YellowWellies · 24/06/2014 22:47

No go on! Grin

fedupofrainydays · 24/06/2014 22:52

Funny how one used to lust after shoes or handbags. Now it's turned to baby carriers / slings and buggies and nappy bags

ohthegoats · 24/06/2014 22:58

Thanks fedup, will try them. I reckon I'll be a J cup by the time it all kicks off - I've got a J cup swimming costume at the moment (just a normal one from Bravissimo), and it's about right really. I think my current bras only still fit because they've stretched with me. Sexy.

tak1ngchances · 25/06/2014 06:40

Where did you buy the ergo 360 fedup?

fedupofrainydays · 25/06/2014 06:43

John Lewis

It's expensive but I'm going for this for all my early days - ie not sure am going to use buggy. Mainly cos have a crazy ds and not sure I can steer a buggy and run after him! This is how i have justified it!! Then I think we will get a city jogger for when I can handle the non parent facing!

fedupofrainydays · 25/06/2014 06:46

Just looked and the black one is back in stock! I've got the grey / camel one.

fedupofrainydays · 25/06/2014 06:51

Random day off today and not sure what to do with ds. Chessington? Bocketts farm? Peppa pig world? Any Surrey based people got any suggestions for sudden day off and need to escape house cos of builders?!

bumpbangbump · 25/06/2014 07:09

You must worry about your milk duct goat. not even just about feeding, the pain from a blocked duct is indescribable and can lead to infection which can have you laid up for the better part of 2 weeks.

I found the non undewired ones only slightly impacted on overall shape and lift, I was an HH when feeding, and while a little 'old ladyish' actually didn't bother me too much (I hate my norks to sag too)!

bumpbangbump · 25/06/2014 07:13

Good shout for nursingbra-shop. This time I may treat myself to an underwired feeding bra for special occasions!!! Thanks fedup.

binkybunny · 25/06/2014 07:16

Morning all. goats I ended up in Asda for just a normal bra a few months ago as I shot up to a 42D abd didnt want to spend a fortune if my boobs are going to keep changing. I couldnt find bras anywhere even Mothercare didnt have them big enough and they are all soft cups which I just cant wear in public.

I seem to have gone down a size recently so will be looking at the above mentioned sites.

I have woken up an hour earlier than needs be and in a foul mood after having dreamt all night DH was trying to kill himself. I actually woke in tears at one point Sad

To top it all off tonights trip to Mothercare is going to have tobe cancelled as still waiting for several hundred pound of DH expenses and TalkTalk have taken their DD out ofour account a week early so left with very little til pay day now Angry

I'm not going to be a nice person to be around today!

mum2kiss · 25/06/2014 07:38

I was thinking the same goats - you need to worry about your milk ducts. One of those gets blocked and i hear its a fresh new hell!

ohthegoats · 25/06/2014 07:57

At the moment I'm not even sure I'm going to breastfeed, so milk ducts are less important that my boobs being off my thighs. I still need to wear these bras for 3 months before needing my boobs for anything other than hanging there causing clothes to hang weirdly!

I'm wondering when I'm going to stop aching - or is that it now? I'll just ache the whole time? My whole body just aches, everything is an effort to do... I just had to move our bedroom around so a plasterer can come in, and my arms are killing me from lifting one side of the mattress. Am fully pathetic.

YellowWellies · 25/06/2014 08:08

I had blocked milk ducts - bizarrely from doing inversions in a yoga class during the period I was BF J. I was wearing an underwired (non nursing) bra. Agony! Like someone had filled my boobs with red hot concrete. Thankfully it was easy enough to dislodge with a massage in a hot shower. Never had mastitis but I hear that is hell on earth.

sazzlehopes · 25/06/2014 09:37

I'm checking out hammocks now! If it's not slings it's something else! You lot had so much info...
I like the sound of them, I struggled so much with the Moses basket before that I'm definitely looking into something else this time. The hammocks seem an ok price on eBay too....

YellowWellies · 25/06/2014 10:04

Goats that's totally your choice hon there's lots of complex issues to balance. Just don't be put off because you think BF means exposing your boobs in public because it needn't with the right tops - even with generous boobs. I BF on buses and trains with no one noticing. The reason I say that is because I've just seen a bloody formula ad and the BF Mum is sat there half naked, her shirt unbuttoned and off one shoulder and dishevelled - quite deliberately giving totally the wrong impression and deterring the shy / body conscious away from BF. There's plenty of reasons why BF isn't right for everyone though but thinking it means flashing your flesh to strangers needn't be a worry xx

Kirstipops · 25/06/2014 10:12

Jeesoh Yellow which formula ad is this?

OP posts:
YellowWellies · 25/06/2014 10:18

Its a follow on milk ad - the one that's starts "BF is the best start for your baby but for when its time to move on..." Aptimil I think? I guarantee they'll play it in the ad breaks of OBEM tonight - they always do. The lady is BF half wearing a blue shirt.

FrauEnglischLehrerin · 25/06/2014 10:37

Fatpony - we used the carrycot loads with dd. She had most of her naps in it, so we didn't bother with a Moses basket and it was easy to prop up the head end on a cushion/books around the flat. Ours came with a zip-in lambskin-style liner for colder weather, so I expect it will be even more useful with an autumn newborn than a late spring baby.

I really think it depends on your habits, though. It's typical here to aim for a baby to sleep outside as much as possible during the day, so having a pram which is suitable for long sleeps is good for that. Dd was also tiny (46cm at birth) so fitted in the carrycot for a couple of months longer than many of my friends' babies. I would be wary of using a carseat regularly for more than a few minutes a day, but that might be German preciousness about not propping babies in a seated position rubbing off on me - I don't know how they are viewed in the UK?

Loulou888 · 25/06/2014 10:42

They aren't allowed to advertise first milk only follow on. If you buy into that you are wasting your money.

Breast feeding isn't for everyone. I had two totally different health visitors one with dd was very pushy about breast feeding the one with ds was much more relaxed and was far nicer to mummy needs as to just that of baby.

FrauEnglischLehrerin · 25/06/2014 10:49

yellow - yy to bf not having to be conspicuous. My ante-natal class used to meet up once a week in a café after the babies were born and most of us would faff around tucking muslins into bra straps, or shawls around us (and this is the former ddr, where women who see you bf give you encouraging smiles and men are cheered up for the rest of the day if they catch a glimpse of nipple Grin). One woman however who was on her third child just wore loose tops and simply lifted her top and latched her baby on with zero fuss and I would regularly glance over at her and realise that she was feeding with surprise, since I hadn't noticed her start.

bumpbangbump · 25/06/2014 11:08

You can get blocked ducts even if you don't feed, in fact that was what I ment as I can't imagine anything more frustrating than not bf but still ending up with mastitis! Just e careful to wear something that fits really well...
