goats I am in the same boat as you re the yoga classes - £12 a class and I find them a bit boring, loads of different breaths and chit chat about labour success stories. Can't decide whether to stick with it for July as I already have a gym membership but the antenatal classes are when I am at work...

There is no antenatal pilates around me but might just join a regular pilates class.

For those of you who have bought prams/have made the decision is it really worth it to buy the carrycot too?

They seem so large and we are short of space. I understand with the car seat attachment you can only put the baby in there for two hours max at a time? The Urbo2 (Mamas and Papas) which we saw this weekend has an offer where the carrycot comes free but for other models I am not sure I want to buy car seat plus carrycot thingy when you'd only use the carrycot for the first few months anyway. Or are they actually really useful?!

We looked at a range of buggies this weekend and was disappointed to see most of the seats have to be turned outward facing before they can be folded down. Sounds like a pain in the behind to have to faff with that when on a bus, just arriving in the house (we have a narrow hallway where the pram will live).

bumpbangbump · 24/06/2014 18:12

We were bought the pram attachment for the baby jogger with our ds. If I'm honest, it's quite narrow so only really lasted until he was about 4-5 months old and I wouldn't buy it again I didn't already have it. I think it depends on the buggy. If, like the baby jogger, the normal seat isn't parent facing, then the pram is nice to start out with. If the pram has a parent facing option anyway then i'd be tempted to just go with that.

Go to an independent retailer and get advice. Tell them what you want and they'll probably suggest the perfect one for you. The big shops seem to not give suce good service ime...

fatpony · 24/06/2014 18:16

We had awful service in Mamas and Papas - really wanted someone to explain the pros and cons of the lightweight systems we were looking at but it was 4pm on a hot Saturday afternoon so perhaps expected too much!

One of the guys in Mothercare did say one of their carrycots can be used overnight so might be useful when visiting people or travelling.

Will try and independent retailer next time we go buggy researching!

Me23 · 24/06/2014 18:20

Fatpony at the moment m&p have the sola2 with free carrycot too. I may go for that. Still undecided as babyjogger have a new deluxe bassinet coming out in august so may just buy that and use Ds bjcm for new baby.

mum2kiss · 24/06/2014 19:10

I have no idea which pram I will end up with but liked the idea of doubling up a carry cot for use in the living room as well as on the buggy...If I don't get a parent facing pushchair i will definitely get the carrycot...

ohthegoats · 24/06/2014 19:18

We got the baby jogger specifically because someone is going to loan us the bassinet to go with it. I think I'd buy it if we didn't have a freebie option.

Kirstipops · 24/06/2014 19:21

Yeah I'm the same as you mum2kiss, I actually really like the carrycot part of the sola we have so I'm happy to use it for napping in the living room!

We've got the sola carrycot. J didn't take to it but that was probably the reflux. Hmmm was going to sell the sola to make room. Do I keep the carrycot until October?

I have a v clingy grumping teething boy. Bear hugging Mummy is all he wants to do. Had to get in the bath with the wee mite! Thankfully he didn't poo. So I'm only just cooking tea now whilst DH does stories - my stomach is screaming at me!

mum2kiss · 24/06/2014 20:12

I'm just about to cook now too...really can't be bothered!

fedupofrainydays · 24/06/2014 20:29

I've eaten a cup cake for tea. Washed down with a non alcoholic beer. You can't get much more 'I can't be arsed' than that!! But it was delicious!!

bumpbangbump · 24/06/2014 21:04

Tesco finest cottage pie is pretty low intensity too. Can't believe what a fat lazy are I am!!!

bumpbangbump · 24/06/2014 21:05

Lazy arse!

mrsb87 · 24/06/2014 21:12

I wish I had the facility to be lazy with tea. No ready meals or even oven chips in the house urgently so I made mushroom risotto. Which I guess is quote lazy for a cooked meal. This heat is killing any motivation I had for anything!

ohthegoats · 24/06/2014 21:18

We went to the pub for a burger. But I cycled there, so not the laziest arse.

YellowWellies · 24/06/2014 21:23

No pub teas after bedtime bah - chilli with nachos here. The barest dusting of chilli powder as I made J cry last time because it was so spicy Blush . This baby wants spice.

ExcitedCJ · 24/06/2014 21:32

Boy... You guys have been busy chatting. My working week away is pretty full on so I'm struggling to keep up.
On the sleeping solution chat, I got an Amby Hammock for my DD & as soon as I got that she started sleeping in that she slept like a baby (?!! They don't sleep, where that saying comes from??!) It is a great piece of kit & can be used as a travel cot too. It came to Malta with us for our summer holiday when she was 6 months & it was a life saver. I loved it and the new LO will go into a swaddle & the hammock from day 1!! I'm planning to get max sleep possible! I will use combo of hammock & bed nest until 1yr & transfer to crib in own room. Might give you something else to consider. :)

ohthegoats · 24/06/2014 21:40

Right, where can I get massive underwired maternity/breastfeeding bras from? Bravissimo only has soft cup, and that's just not an option right now. I don't want to buy bigger bras now, then have to buy again in non-wired, especially when I'm already a 34H and each bra costs £30+.

YellowWellies · 24/06/2014 21:40

My sis had an Amby hammock for her DS - the only thing he'd sleep in with his reflux. Sadly as a 10ber he outgrew it too quickly. She had the gall to sell it before we could steal it (how very dare she!? Wink ) so we just used the bednest from day one. J's always been a great night sleeper but I'm still wondering what to do nap wise, I think realistically this babe will have to sleep in the sling or buggy as I want to keep going out and about with J.

YellowWellies · 24/06/2014 21:42

Goats I've never seen wired BF bras - I think they usually aren't because of the worry that underwires can damage milk ducts. Is that an old wives tale?

YellowWellies · 24/06/2014 21:43

I'm getting bra extenders from JoJo Maman if its a back not cup issue?

ohthegoats · 24/06/2014 21:57

Ah yeah, for now it's a back issue - still same cup size-ish (I can get away with it for a bit longer). Non under-wire is not an option for massive boobs, I don't care about milk ducts, I care about not having tits lying on my thighs!! I'm super sensitive about my boob size at the best of times, they are the first thing I see when I look at myself in photos, I'm paranoid about them... in a non-wired bra they look shocking. It will make me not want to leave the house.

YellowWellies · 24/06/2014 22:03

Goats with a generous rack I reckon you'd be fine in an underwire without worry. No idea where you'd get an underwired nursing bra though - maybe Hot Milk?

ohthegoats · 24/06/2014 22:07

Jojo has underwired ones, but not in a big enough size.
M&S doesn't have a big enough size.
Bravissimo, the alleged big boob specialist, does no underwired ones.
Mothercare no underwires that are right either.

:(

mrsb87 · 24/06/2014 22:11

Fig leaves do them goats. I think as long as they are fitted properly under wired bras are fine yellow.
