Welcome tilpil.

good to hear from you emily. I can't imagine the stress of the last few weeks. Glad you had su h promising results.

Happy birthday to your dd punky!

well enjoyed prom last night though the food was rubbish since I couldn't eat all of the delicious things there so had the veggie option..vegetarians must be starving! Everyone else got a fair chunk of steak and the veggies got a spoon of quinoa with one spear of asparagus Confused

CallingAllEngels · 07/06/2014 12:14

Forgot to add...

10+6!

KateJ28 · 07/06/2014 12:18

That's what we're all here for :)

Just measured for a new bra and have gone up about 3 cup sizes..... Confused

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 07/06/2014 12:19

hi Sasseh thank you for your message.
i don't want to worry you but certain things can only be picked up at certain stages of growth. i.e. the bowel moving into the body from the unbimilical cord the sonographer said this happens between 11.5 and 12.5 weeks. so can't be seen that it will be a problem till then. I've read that most of the babies organs are formed in the umbilical cord and then pass into the body through the 'belly button' and then at by 12.5 weeks the hole closes up. also with the fluid, it seems that some babies can have a lot of fluid on its neck and be fine, the midwife said that by 16 weeks this tends to have dissipated. it was just the combination of the bowels and the high amount of fluid that they called 'markers' for an abnormality. also the 20 week scan is when they can see problems with the babies organs, i.e. they look closely at the heart and lungs. I tell you i know more about foetuses now then i ever wanted to! lol you just have to keep your fingers crossed that you have a healthy pregnancy and just be very grateful if you don't face any problems :)
I'm sorry if this sounds negative - just passing on information that I've been given in the last 2 weeks.

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 07/06/2014 12:28

omama thank you for your message.
re the rest of the results of the amnio test, i think in total they test for 50 possible abnormal chromosomes. and they seem to be able to tell you the results of the possible downs, edwards and turners syndrome results within 48 hours but it takes 10 working days to get the rest of the results. I'm not sure why and what the other results might show. i have seen the same midwife so far, but she's been off this previous week so i am going to give her a call on monday to see if she can explain a bit about what the next lot of results might show.
yes re the exomphalos or omphalocele (seems to have two names!) after my next scan at 16+3 if baby is still okay we will be referred to St Thomas's Hospital in London to see someone about that. I've been told they have the knowledge and expertise so I'm hoping they can give me more info and put my mind at rest. and i imagine that they may want me to give birth there so that the baby can have an operation soon after birth.
I tell you this couldn't be further then my original birth plan of a home water birth no medical intervention or drugs etc!! oh well these things are sent to try us i suppose!

Ladylel · 07/06/2014 17:27

I am trying this pigeon pose later monkeybaby! Are we allowed to use heat pads?

Angel sounds fetal monitor. Recommended managed to find both heartbeats after obtaining a full bladder and lots of rubbing around! It was beautiful, a nice relief to hear between scans.

Am off to the Holi festival that's in Southampton been looking forward to it for ages. With sciatic pain tho il be standing on the side lines taking it all in haha x

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 07/06/2014 18:03

Southampton is my hometown, Ladylel, I'm so jealous and homesick!! Enjoy :) my sister sent me pictures of it earlier

Ladylel · 07/06/2014 21:10

Ha small world peace where about are you from originally? Am near hedge end myself.

It was good fun, sun was out, music was loud, bit cautious of the mad drunk jumping around people. Was only there a few hours but def one to tic off bucket list ;)

LisaC2611 · 08/06/2014 06:27

Morning all, another early morning for me! Been wide awake for the last hour with no chance of getting back to sleep (especially as hubby is snoring his head off besides me).

Emily so glad to hear you have had some positive news. Will keep fingers crossed the rest if the results are also positive.

Had a very exciting day yesterday. It's my mums 60th birthday and we had arranged loads of surprises for her, family coming down from up north that she had no idea about and a meal out last night with all her siblings. Announced my pregnancy (and my sister announced hers as well) and my aunts all cried with the news. It was really lovely. One of my cousins lives in New Zealand and I had a message from her about half hour after I got into bed - my aunt must have phoned her the minute she got in!

More surprises for my mum today and more announcements. An really looking forward to it Grin

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 08/06/2014 08:45

Ladylel I'm from Bitterne Park but I know Hedge End :) we moved up here for DH's work and never left Hmm we are inching closer to Hampshire every time we move house, though!

SassehMonsta · 08/06/2014 08:59

. Made my wedding journey eithout vommiting & had a lovely day, except forgot I dont like margarine at the moment and put it on my jacket potato. Oops!
Just spent the night sleeping in a marquee on roll mats& duvets. Made me realise how much mu bump is now awkward to sleep on, despite being pretty tiny still.
Outfit was good for hiding under, noone would have known until I got changed in the evening! Driving home today, not been sick this morning, and have remembered my meds. Gooood. Hppe people have poitive sundays.

littlegreengloworm · 08/06/2014 09:03

Good Morning. I have had the worst week in years, upset stomach meaning strong painful cramps, migraine. Had two days certified leave from work and felt awful about it

Every night at four am and six am I'd wake with awful cramps end all the rest! Anyway. I think I am in the clear, no cramps for over 12 hours.

14 wks tomorrow. Might get my maternity clothes from the attic.

Is anyone else in maternity stuff (I am in loose trousers, don't fit into any old trousers)

littlegreengloworm · 08/06/2014 09:04

Oh yes, is recommend angel sounds too, honestly it was a lifesaver as I thought the roast when the cramps came the other night.

monkeybaby2 · 08/06/2014 10:25

In mat clothes already here, and been desperately trying to hide it. Am v glad I can go public at work on Monday although I reckon loads of people have guessed already seeing as I've been avoiding the pub and looking fat(ter)!

htbftm · 08/06/2014 10:40

Sorry to hear you've been feeling rubbish Lisa - hope you're on the mend now!
Really glad you and Sasseh had such a lovely day tho! :-)
Definitely already in maternity clothes here at home - have been since about 8 weeks! Still managing to get into a couple of loose fitting dresses at work, but all my suit bottoms are definitely off the menu! Anyone any ideas for jackets for work? The few maternity tops and bottoms I have look too informal for school and I need to smarten them up!

littlegreengloworm · 08/06/2014 10:49

What about kimono type things instead of a jacket. Matalan have maternity ones but only largess sizes left. What is the dress code like? Primary school?

I am wearing light white cardigans (lace back- New Look) so they cover my arms etc but look dressy.

I have bought some darker coloured loose long tops that are fairly smart but totally unsuitable on really hot days. I have a smart bird print shirt from Monsoon in white and Breton type top but I can't live in them forever.

CatFaceCrayola · 08/06/2014 11:24

1st day back at school tomorrow. First time I'll see colleagues after the big announcement.

Still pretty itchy and rashy.

not helped by stupid maternity bras. I got the only ones in my size that mothercare had to offer. And I have now remembered why I NEVER wear bras that are in any way lacey because they drive me absolutely mad! Argh!

Overdid it massively last night. Did 3 hour long gigs in a row because people dropped out and I didn't want to let the organisers down. Paying for it today though. Feel like ive been hit by a bus!

14 weeks today though. Little Bubble is apparently the size of a lemon :)

miraculous2 · 08/06/2014 12:56

14 weeks today too! That feels really far along and it's kinda crept up on me.

Two lemon-sized tiny humans might explain some of the pain - my lower pelvis/ coccyx/ fandan all feel bruised and I've got some low abdominal pain. Everything feels different down there! I also have a morning bump to rival my evening bump now...

Haven't really grown out of clothes that much - just doing the hairband/ waistband trick for comfort but also when I'm not bump-hiding any more I'll actually have a much bigger choice from what I already own.

Felt great getting out yesterday, seeing friends, seeing a show, not just sleeping the whole weekend. Will try to make the mardi gras parade today despite feeling a bit weh.

Hope you're all good Smile

Moving is officially over! I'm so relieved I could cry. Now to unpack..

Martie1 · 08/06/2014 15:16

emily what a traumatic time you have had. I would also have been a complete mess and needed time off work if that had happened to me. Congratulations on your little boy. Im sure my dh would be just delighted if we got a little boy. I hope the rest of the test results come back with good news. Keep us updated.

peace wow you've been treated horribly too. Thank god you were moving. As others have said, you know the real story, you know how healthy you are and how healthy you eat. I would just nod and agree with anymore stupid medical professionals and make them believe you are taking on board what they are saying. Better than trying to fight your corner as that will just prolong any irritating lecture.

Had a bit of a fright this morning and Im not sure what to think or do. There may be tmi here so a word of warning. DH and I got jiggy this morning and I fell asleep afterwards. Anyway when i did get up about 2 hours later, I went to the toilet. On wiping, the toilet paper was yellow with a lightish brown and pink tinge. A while later I made the bed and noticed blood spots on my dh's side. I cannot imagine that they came from me but...well we moved around in the bed this morning when getting jiggy. Ive been knicker watching since and I have a definite small brownish discharge in my pants. I don't have any cramps but its the obvious blood on the bed sheets that worries me. I don't know what to think or if I should be doing something.

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 08/06/2014 15:20

Martie could DP have torn his frenulum or foreskin slightly when jiggying?

Martie1 · 08/06/2014 15:23

btw im 13 +6 today

Martie1 · 08/06/2014 15:23

i did wonder that myself. He's out, i might ring him but I don't want to worry him. Ill ring him.

Martie1 · 08/06/2014 15:28

ok now im totally embarrassed. dh hurt himself. Blush

CatFaceCrayola · 08/06/2014 16:44

At least it's not a mystery anymore martie

Just spent a good couple of hours throwing stuff out and reorganising with my mum as part of Operation Make Room for Baby. Think the dust has got to me.Positive steps though.

Needed some positivity after finding out this morning that a very close friend of mine is in a coma after suffering a possible brain haemorrhage. Send positive vibes in his direction please everyone
