I try to fob DS off with a mini milk but it doesn't work if I have a solero at the same time!
(But it does mean I can justify eating 2....!!!!)

FoxtrotOscarBackToEconomy · 18/06/2014 21:05

Auntie I'm sorry to hear that your MIL passed away. However, it is better that your DP was able to be there and although difficult to say this, if there isn't going to be a good outcome it is better that it happens sooner rather than later if the family are there. And at least there is now a good chance for your DP to be back in time. Is there other family who can sort out her affairs?

I forgot to say earlier that my bump almost disappeared during the night. I was lying on my back and baby seemed to have fallen off my front and was lying to the side of my abdomen leaving me with a micro bump! It soon got back in position when I rolled over. MW measured me to be 34cm yesterday (I'm 38 weeks) and didn't say anything about that being small, just said it was fine as has got bigger since last week. I'm really curious to find out how big it is. I'm assuming it will be bigger than DS who was a teeny just over 6lb when born at 41 weeks and drowned in the newborn size clothes! I have bought a pack of tiny baby vests and sleepsuits so you can guarantee that it will be to big to fit those!

I'm feeling slightly annoyed that online sales have started in the UK and I don't know if it is a boy or girl (our choice not to know). If I knew it was a girl I would be taking advantage of the sales to get some girls clothes cheap!

Plate lollies sound yummy!

GrouchyKiwi · 18/06/2014 21:16

You guys are all much better behaved than I am re "unhealthy" food. We keep running out of chocolate because I eat it all in one sitting.

BlueC2 · 18/06/2014 21:27

ickle promise I am resting! DH and I both having an early night even if the football is on in the bedroom so I am taking it easy. Also have arranged for a friend to come over tomorrow morning to keep me company with DS in case I have another dizzy spell.

fifi669 · 18/06/2014 21:27

I just ate a whole bag of wine gums :)

GrouchyKiwi · 18/06/2014 21:33

Mmmmm. Wine gums. It's too late to send DH out to buy me some. Woe.

NancyinCali · 18/06/2014 22:06

So sorry auntie big hugs to you and DP.

Re names: we're sorted on a name. DD1 seems to approve too as she keeps saying it!

blue rest up lovely. I felt dizzy when driving home earlier so I'm on sofa now while dd naps. We went berry picking earlier and it was way too hot for me (31C). She enjoyed the berry picking though! In other words she ate them all.

Auntie so so sorry for your and your DPs loss. It does sound like she was taken ill quite suddenly which can make it harder but it also sounds like she didn't suffer. All her family were there and whether she knew that or not, it will make a difference to them.

We're stuck on names. We know (90% sure) we're having a girl based on the sonographer at the 20 week scan but our lists of names are too abstract...what if she's not a Jane or a Pauline or an Allessandra?? Those are not on our list btw, just an example.

All you people eating wine gums and strawberries - please do me a favour and eat extra for me. I'll be green with envy but I shall attempt to live vicariously through you.

Yesterday I made a pile of post-it notes with tasks on for me and DH, most of which were for me. Then when DH said 'oh just tell me when you want me to do the gardening one' I slightly lost it and snapped at him, which I don't normally do. Then restated my point more calmly and when he realised how many tasks there were vs days to B-day, he suddenly kicked into gear and did the garden today! Am chuffed, except now I have to do the next stage, but have obviously only got myself to blame...

My parents are coming for 5 days and we finally looked at local hotels and were 'slightly' shocked to discover that even the nearby Premier Inn would be £865 for the two of them for 5 nights! Even DH gasped at that price and decided he could cope with them for a few days. My youngest sister then piled on the injury by sending me a message on FB at 00:55 to ask if she and her boyfriend could come visit in August. She didn't actually wait for a response, within minutes adding that oh well the flights were on offer and ao they'd bought the tickets and would sort out accommodation later. I was so speechless this morning when I saw it I've not actually responded to her yet!

SPD reached new lows last night when I woke up whimpering because of the pain of lying in bed. Had to go for a wee and take more painkillers before I could face going back to bed. It seems like my body is preparing for bean by making sure about 2hrs of sleep at a time is the most I can comfortably have. Been trying to figure put some sort of pillow arrangement that will allow me to sleep on my back but haven't cracked it yet..

Sorry not sorry for essay..

Auntie sorry for your loss.

Anyone else still having cravings??? Just munching down some prawn crackers and drinking a strawberry milk Blush.

Accomplished zilch today and the dishwasher has now decided to break down. I don't mind as I can cook and wash up at the same time but DH cannot so its a bit chaotic in the kitchen. And rather smelly too.

SPD is very painful now particulalry at night as well ismarah. I am just glad we have a spare double bed so I don't need to sleep with DH.

BlueC2 · 18/06/2014 23:52

So the early night/sleep was a success until DHs phone made an odd noise and woke me not him up!

snow had BP checked on Sunday and yesterday and all fine as I assumed that would be the problem. MW/doc in triage think it's vertigo but there's nothing I can take for it

Sorry about the SPD and visitors you can do without ismarah. DM and DSD have booked their little caravan onto a couple of nearbyish sites for a week at the end of July and one mid August to come and help-we just don't have space for them to stay but local b+Bs so expensive as we're right near the airport!

GrouchyKiwi · 19/06/2014 00:43

Flipping heat. I want to go to sleep.

Glad you've got someone coming to help out tomorrow, Blue.

justhayley · 19/06/2014 02:00

Oh auntie so sorry to hear about your MIL, what a hard few weeks it's been for your family. Youv been really unselfish and I'm sure your DH appreciates you being ok with him being away from you at a time when you also needed him. I hope you get some time together to grieve and just catch your breath before the baby arrives, but I do believe that your little ones arrival will really help take away some of the hurt your family are going through, and your baby will have his/her very own guardian Angel.
Your MW sounds lovely - just what you need Thanks Hope it's not too long before you and DH are together again and really glad your BP is behaving xxx

I went to asleep at 11pm and woke up at 1am with hayfever - as per usual. Do you know I could actually handle waking up for something pregnancy related as that's kind of expected at this stage of pregnancy, but waking up every night because of hayfever is just pissing me off.
Went downstairs to boil some water to make my oilbus oil and decided to make use of the half an hour (at least)I knew I had to wait for my nose to clear. Iv been painting some shelves and need to get them finished by tomorrow morning so I can start the next batch and get them dry for Friday as family are coming over to put them up, so just gave them another layer of paint. I figure if I'm going to keep waking up in the night I'm going to do stuff rather than just pace the house getting irritated lol.

Sorted out the majority of babies clothes today, ironed them all, put them into various sizes and put them away. Have another wash of bits to do tomorrow but baby wise I think I'm almost ready Smile (apart from not having a buggy yet).

House wise I'm hoping that I can pretty much clear the dinning room once the shelves are up and will have the majority off stuff in there unpacked. Really want my house to be half organised and non boxey before MW comes over Tuesday. Don't want to have to explain that I will have space for a homebirth and where I intend everything to be - just want it ready.

Anyway 2am now so going to try and get back to sleep and hopefully I will not see you again till at least 7am wishfull thinking

icklekid · 19/06/2014 03:51

blue glad your resting and have friends over should make looking after dc easier I hope! Can they just play in the garden whilst you drink ice cold yummy things or too young for that?

Oh no ismarsh that is ridiculously expensive, have you friends with a spare room if it gets hard work or would that be weird? Luckily for us my parents have friends near us they can stay with...

liquid my hips are agony and rolling over is hilarious these days!

Ok I'm sure I'm being paranoid but said yesterday was concerned my waters had gone but thought just discharge (sorry tmi) well woken up and pjs are wet but sheet isn't...have put a pad on as advised by midwife yesterday.., lying here at 3,30 feeling anxious though!

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday · 19/06/2014 04:57

ickle after the same thing happened to me a few weeks back I'd really recommend going into triage if you're still concerned. In my case it was just watery discharge but the midwives and doctor were v thorough in checking it out and didn't make me feel at all silly for coming in. If you're worried call them back (oh and remember to bring the pad in for them to see!). Hopefully it's nothing but worth having the peace of mind I think.

icklekid · 19/06/2014 05:14

Well 5 o clock not slept but pad dry so probably nothing will make sure I have my notes just incase today...!

NancyinCali · 19/06/2014 06:36

ickle I was worried about waters today (well yesterday for you but still weds here) too but decided it was down to sweat and not waters (nice bit of tmi there!) as it was so hot today. Keeping an eye on it though as I'm also feeling generally a bit ropey.

lentilpot · 19/06/2014 08:34

Blue, have you tried this weird testament for vertigo? It helped my mum when she had it last year m.youtube.com/watch?v=pa6t-Bpg494 but it only helps for certain types.

I'm sorry for your family's loss auntie.

Lots of love to all those suffering with hay fever and other pains. My new one is itchy sore stretch marks. Icing them helps with the itching, any other ideas? X

BlueC2 · 19/06/2014 09:45

Thanks lentil think I read that you're not supposed to try it past 28 weeks pregnant so will have to wait til baby here now if it hasn't gone by then (please please!)

DH feeling bit better this morning but not in a good mood which has been fun. I woke up feeling great but now feel sick again! Really hope I feel bit better tomorrow as DH planned a day out for my birthday with DS at childminders - this maybe why he's grumpy thinking his plans gonna go to waste if I'm ill!

A friend had said she thought I'd have baby before 38 weeks a little while ago-suddenly realised this morning that would mean next week - eeek!! Rather focuses the mind! Plus hearing of those of you wondering about waters etc! It's all starting to happen!! My bump has definitely dropped which has eased my sore back at night but not eased the heartburn which I expected it to.

Hope everyone has a good day!

MrsA2 · 19/06/2014 09:48

Auntie I'm sorry to hear about your MIL. I hope that your husband is doing as well as could be expected and is back home with you soon.

Wow it's muggy here today. Off to aqua aerobics (first time I've been able to make it as the class is on a weekday so previously been at work), be nice to get in the water! Had a lovely swim earlier in the week too. I could get used to maternity leave...

ZingWhale · 19/06/2014 10:06

Auntie

so sorry to hear about your MIL passing away - devastating newsSad

your DH will be back in time for baby though, I'm sure of it.

About names - we will call this one Kid as we just can't think of any names that we both like, are Biblical names, haven't already used by cousins (18 of them, same surname), and start with a different initial from the names our kids or some we just can't use (like P as it's stupid with our surname.

in fact he/she will have Seven as middle name.
so Kid Seven. or Number Seven perhaps?
great....Confused Grin

honestly, I wish babies were born with a name tag!
(none would then be called Crystal. or Fox.Wink Grin Grin )

liquidstatehasrisenagain · 19/06/2014 10:29

lentil get yourself some E45 itch relief for the stretch marks. I had this a few weeks ago and although it didn't clear the itching completely it helped a lot.

Am trying to get loads done today. I need to keep moving as it will help little one come out.

zing in my family there are lots of duplicate names amongst the cousins and now second cousins. We think its hilarious. In fact my bestie is my cousin with my name. It does help we live in different towns though. Grin

Patchworking9til5 · 19/06/2014 11:24

maggie sorry for your loss. I hope that the new life that you are bringing into the world will help the whole family to still celebrate life, whilst they mourn what is lost.

Update for hayfever sufferers my GP prescribed me located and the pharmacist didn't bat an eyelid when I picked it up. Worth asking if you're suffering.

zing your naming task sounds so difficult.... Sounds like difficult criteria too. Did I understand correctly you want a biblical name? Much easier for boys than girls as the old testament offers up some real gems! I know of a baby Josiah, a micah ,and a boaz. Depends on your reasons for wanting biblical too but you could consider some heroes/martyrs.... Eg Wilberforce?!!! Girls though... Much harder!

GrouchyKiwi · 19/06/2014 12:53

Just got my whooping cough jab. Arm is sore. I am tired. Want to cry. Was about to add "out of chocolate" to my list of wimpy woes but realised I bought some this morning. How did I forget that so quickly?

At least it's a bit cooler today.

fifi669 · 19/06/2014 13:10

37 weeks today so baby is term.... If labour starts I will still get my section unless he's practically there. Think I'd consider having him naturally now rather than waiting another couple of weeks!
