Morning.

Sorry to hear you're struggling a bit binky. Bet it helps to be able to count down to finishing work! Are you taking some annual leave as well or starting your maternity straight away? How did you find trying to get a maternity dress for the wedding?! Hopefully you'll have plenty of opportunities to sit down, I find the standing around for the photos drags at the best of times!!

I'm doing pretty good now. Definitely hit a turning point at 14 weeks. We've booked a week away for our wedding anniversary in September when I'll be 21 weeks. We're going to the lakes in a posh looking 'cottage'. You can use the local leisure club, which looks to have a lovely spa so I'm going to book myself in for a Mum to be treatment. Really can't wait :)

I'm 15+2 today and have my midwife appointment on Tuesday. I've also bought a pregnancy day to day book which looks like it'll give me plenty to read. I'm also starting to get a bump now so it feels a lot more real!!

Hope you're all doing ok and Lady I think about you every day.xx

Yay so glad you're feeling better helen. I did something similar around 24 weeks and it was lovely, had a bump but not too big or tired yet.

I am the same binky - just a proper insomniac again, it sucks, having to roll from one sore hip to the other and wee all the bloody time. If it's any consolation this entirely vanished after birth last time and I slept really well then even with newborn waking me frequently. Well done for wearing heels! I have a wedding this weekend and have a lovely navy lacey maternity dress from asos which I look like a weeble in - but definitely wearing flat sandals!

We are having the week from hell - toddler has basically stopped sleeping and we are on our knees! Work is busy as ever and I am struggling with the hot wards and the relentless stressful emergency-ness of it all, they are not massively sympathetic and though they have on paper taken me off the long shifts, they are still asking me to cover other doctors all the time and I don't get much in the way of breaks (sometimes not any) and routinely go home late and exhausted and hungry. I have less than a month left at work and still going to try and struggle through. 4 September is my last day.

I called in sick today after being up literally all night with the toddler. Normally boyfriend does all the nights but he is so so shattered. She has a cough and cold but god knows why she is being such a nightmare at night at the moment. With new baby imminent it's scaring the shit out of me, she used to sleep all night every night!! Anyway I was kind of expecting one of us to have to stay at home with her today but actually after breakfast she seemed alright so I sent her off to nursery after all and went to bed and called in sick, I am shattered. God I feel guilty about it though. I've had four sick days this pregnancy now which I suppose isn't terrible but I'm so acutely aware of how short staffed we are already.

On the up side - I passed my giant exam! Such a huge relief, it was three months studying and cost lots of money and means I don't have to take an exam for another couple of years now. And wolf cub kicks nonstop so I haven't worried about him for one second. (I don't know gender but everyone else seems to think it's a boy!) And mortgage is all going through smoothly it seems so will be moving to my dream house in just a few months- can't wait.

I am 32-and-a-half weeks now. Wish I was 37!

weebairn · 08/08/2014 10:19

32 weeks (spot the toddler!)

Wow that's a decent bump you have there weebairn, but you still look really slim as well! I love seeing pictures of you all and kind of putting a face/ bump to the name! Love the little one poking in to the bottom of the photo as well!

Congratulations on passing the exam, bet that was a right weight off your mind! Good news that the house is progressing smoothly as well.

Seems like things are a bit shitty other than that though. Must be really hard having so much going on at once. I really wouldn't feel guilty about having 4 days off sick, that's fantastic going. I had 2 weeks before I got to 12 weeks and I have a mainly sat down kind of job so I think you've done really well. I can't believe that you work at a hospital and they don't seem to be very considerate at all though. Is there not something about being absolutely shattered etc and how it might impact on your performance as well as your own health? I'm not remotely insinuating that you are incapable of doing your job properly (please don't take offence!!!) but you'd think this would be a consideration in them not wanting to push you to exhaustion?!

yeah you'd think!! I hear the same story from nurses and doctors all over though. It's rubbish.

Aw you're very kind. Just you wait till 3rd trimester missus, you won't quite believe how big your bump gets! Wink It's nice to take lots of pics I think (even if you don't really like how you look) cause it's so funny to look back on them afterwards when you're your normal size again! Did you say you have a bit of a bump now? I think it's nice and reassuring when you do (well some days, other days it makes me feel grumpy and fat!)

weebairn · 08/08/2014 10:48

Ooh posted too soon!! There it is!! Just a little hint of one, lovely, you look great. :)

binkybunny · 08/08/2014 11:08

WeeBairn, 4 days is really good going, I had that many in the first few weeks (although the first 2 I didn't realise were morning sickness!) Well done on your exam too, I am so impressed and I bet it's a huge weight off your shoulders.

Loving the bump pictures, you both look great and I look like a whale in comparison but here's me in my dress for my sisters wedding (excuse the house bunny fence around the dining table and dishwasher in the background!)

I ended up getting a non maternity dress by a French designer in two sizes up and a little bit stretchy. It means I can wear it when not pregnant so didn't mind spending a bit more. My mum is going to help take it in where needed the day before the wedding when I see how big I am!

mrshjb · 08/08/2014 11:09

Yeah it really is! Definitely start the daily countdown of how long you've got left!

Haha thanks, to me I look fat but think that's because I've always had a pretty flat stomach, I need to get over that though because like you say it's only going to get bigger! To be honest though I am loving looking a little bit pregnant now, although I do feel a bit self conscious and have found myself holding things over my belly, especially when I'm at work!!

Have you been bigger with this pregnancy? I've heard a few people say it pops out faster once you've had one?!

mrshjb · 08/08/2014 11:12

Crossed post with binky! Aw love your bump too, the dress looks really nice :) It looks pretty comfy too?

Ooh I have guinea pigs who are going to be evicted out of their bedroom and downstairs when the baby comes and I've been wondering how to fence off the fridge and washing machine etc. Where did you get it from?!

OP posts:
binkybunny · 08/08/2014 11:17

Thanks H. I just feel massive but I wasn't super skinny to start.

The fence is from b&q and is meant to make into shelving but we just cable tie it all together. We use it for her cage but shes chewed the dining table to pieces since we moved house and it's now in the living/dining room and not the kitchen so had to bunny proof it. We're keeping the bunny in the box room where she is but if we have a second baby and haven't moved she might be evicted into the garden... although not sure I'll have the heart bless her.

weebairn · 08/08/2014 11:24

That's such a cute dress binkybunny! Very vintage and shows off your bump beautifully in all the right places. I think you look absolutely lovely. I am a general scruff bag and rarely out of shorts and tshirts...

You have a house bunny!?? Brilliant, your baby will love it once they are old enough. My toddler adores our chasing and cuddling our cats, but bunnies are even cuddlier I bet.

helen I think the bump is a little bit bigger this pregnancy, but I'm not if that makes sense? I think I put on a bit more weight on my thighs/bum/etc last time. The bump came out a week or two earlier than first time, but it wasn't like some people report, popping out in the first 8 weeks or anything. About 17 weeks this time I think. I did do quite a bit of pilates between pregnancies and had my flat(ish) stomach back so maybe I had some core strength back. And my boobs were definitely bigger last time, not sure why. (They're big enough so I'm happy they've not expanded quite so much!)

I know what you mean about feeling self conscious at first, I was like that until the bump was "definite" and I could show it off wearing fitted stuff. I wore baggier tops for a while around 19-20 weeks and probably looked the same to everyone else.

Love seeing both your bumps :) It is hard and weird to see your body change. But I think you've said (and from your pics) - you're both quite tall? So you carry it beautifully! Us shorties look like little round people by the end Grin And you can lose it again afterwards, honest. I did a fair bit of exercise (but I like exercise) and zero dieting and found it came off easily though not that quickly.

weebairn · 08/08/2014 11:25

(Heels don't look too towering at least!)

mrshjb · 08/08/2014 11:26

You honestly don't look massive at all, just very pregnant! Which obviously you are :)

Haha aw bless. We only have a 2 bedroom house and I definitely don't have the heart to move the girls outside. I feel guilty enough about them having to go downstairs because they won't get the freedom they get up here. But like you say, they are devils for chewing stuff so also don't want them to destroy my kitchen!! Does she wander around the house then?!

OP posts:
mrshjb · 08/08/2014 11:33

Crossed post again!

Yeah, I know what you mean. My Mum said she put on more weight with my older sister than with me because she was so busy chasing her around (there's only a 2 year age gap between us) so maybe that's a factor as well?! Probably definitely helped if you had decent stomach muscles.

Yeah that's it, people who know me will look and know that I'm pregnant, but people who don't might just think that I've eaten a lot of pies recently. I don't really know why I care about random people though! I'm hoping I can get out for some walks after the baby is born and that should shed a bit of weight naturally. I don't think I could leave the baby weight on for too long because it's just not me at all. I say this now but when I'm knackered and emotional who knows what I'll think! I'll probably be crying I'm fat whilst stuffing my face with pizza haha!

I'm tall, 5'10. I used to always think it was a bit of a burden when I was younger, but actually now I'm older and have realised the benefit of being able to carry weight more evenly I don't feel quite so bad. You don't look overly short? And you're definitely not rocking the weeble look at all!

OP posts:
binkybunny · 08/08/2014 11:38

Aww thanks lovely people! I;m 5'8 but as I said I was rather hefty to start with. I've just weighed myself at work and I've still only put a few kilo on, not sure how with the size of me, but I'm not complaining!

H our bunny runs around the house when we're home, but she has an entire box room with a 4ft x 5ft pen in it when we're out- she's so spoilt but up until now she has been our baby. I keep telling her she needs to grow up now as she wont; be the baby in the house as she tends to be rather a diva when she doesn't get her own way.

wee I think the baby/ toddler will terrify her. She's not great with visiting children but we're hoping she just gets used to the baby being around all the time.

Here's a pic of the little div herself looking like butter would not melt (just before she tried to chew the coffee table)

weebairn · 08/08/2014 11:40

I'm 5'2" - short enough :)

weebairn · 08/08/2014 12:12

Gorgeous bunny, stuff the kids, I want to cuddle her too.

binky our cats did not like kids at all but they're fine with my daughter, babies are very unintimidating so they have a long time to get used to them. I remember when she first started crawling though, haha, they looked pretty appalled! Now one of them tolerates her and the other is really cuddly and cute with her.

Our cats were also our babies and very spoiled. Now they are largely ignored.

weebairn · 08/08/2014 12:15

Oh and binky - I don't think ANYONE could enjoy the 3rd trimester or particularly like how they look! 1st trimester is rubbish too. Weeks 14-18 are okay… so enjoy yourself for all of us, helen! Wink

misskgb · 08/08/2014 12:52

wow you're all very chatty today! :-) Good to hear you're all well and funny reading all your animal stories. I'm not an animal person at all, but I have a football team to run so time for animals would be impossible even if I wanted them!

weeb I'm also a short round person at 5'3. Luckily I've only grown a bump and now put weight on anywhere else so pretty happy with that so far. I've been taking at least 2 photo's each month to see how I've grown. This bump is definitely getting more prominent, and I thought I was huge at 10 weeks- very wrong! haha H love your cute little bump and binky you're looking good!

About to enter the third trimester and other than finally getting rice krispie here, I can't say I'm much looking forward to it with all the rumours about how bad it gets again! I've really enjoyed the second trimester, apart from the scan issue which luckily got resolved. It's been great to feel human again. I can tell it's coming as I'm definitely getting a bit more uncomfortable and I can feel the dead weight on my hips if I've not rolled too much in the night- it's not pleasant!!

mrshjb · 08/08/2014 12:59

Awww binky love the rabbit! She looks very silky and soft! How old is she?

Haha I think most sensible animals stay away from clawing little fingers! My Niece likes to 'stroke' our family dog, unfortunately the poor thing usually loses a tiny fist of fur every time! Guinea pigs are pretty jumpy by nature so I doubt ours will let themselves be stroked!

Poor old cats weebairn! I think it's pretty common though when you've got something bigger, louder and more demanding!!

I'll bare this in mind weebairn and I promise to live the dream for us all for the next 3 weeks or so!!

Hey misskgb your post didn't show until I'd posted!

My excuse for today's millions of messages is that I'm working from home and DH has cleverly set up his computer so I have dual screens :)

When does the 3rd trimester officially start misskgb? Glad you've enjoyed the 2nd trimester though, hopefully the 3rd won't be toooo bad...!!! Although like you say I've not heard many good things myself, but at least you can start the countdown to maternity!

Does the ligament pain happen all the way through? I've been having a few stabs today again!

OP posts:
misskgb · 08/08/2014 13:40

I think it's 28 weeks, and I'm 27 tomorrow so on the verge! I had a lot of ligament pain in the first trimester, particularly at 8 weeks when I woke in the middle of the night (it turned out to be sciatica and didn't come back- excellent considering your previous experience of people with ectopic pregnancies!)

I get really hard stretchy skin every now and then but doesn't usually last very long, max 24 hours, and I now know it's in relation to madam moving or just generally getting bigger. Yours is likely to be your uterus getting bigger and pushing things inside around, in addition to everything inside like bones, ligaments etc getting weaker coz baby steals everything!

I have no excuse for todays reading and posting- I'm at work altho leaving early to go to the cinema with DH (we never do this!) and the fact that it's quiet in sport so work is quiet, and I have no manager 9she left on Weds and no replacement recruited yet)!!

mrshjb · 08/08/2014 14:05

Oh wow yeah I remember that, that seems like ages ago to me! Good news that it never came back. 27 weeks seems a million miles away for me!

Haha it's very true to think of the baby as a mini parasite, stealing all your nutrients! I definitely felt like that when I had the sickness bug!

What are you going to see at the cinema? Is it a good thing to not have a manager or not?!

OP posts:
binkybunny · 08/08/2014 14:12

I have no excuse to be on mn so much today other than I'm the only one in the office and am too knackered to be doing any creative design or planning today!

Better do a bit more work this aft though so I can finish as early as possible Grin.
