Digi still says 1-2 and frer line is barely the now. :(

I think I am back on the buses, good luck ladies.

I hope to be back here very soon though...

RetroHippy · 20/05/2014 06:27

Ginger, I've had light brown spotting, this morning it's dark brown. AF is due today and I'm panicking! Only 15 dpo, digi this morning said 1-2 and the elaborate jigsaw I'm doing every day with IC strips is getting slightly darker. I have no idea when the worrying stops!

Can you get to the GP for a blood test?

MrsGingerbread · 20/05/2014 06:32

Hi Retro - spotting around AF time I think is normal. I hope all is okay for you.

I'm a bit further along (22dpo now) and think spotting and lines getting fainter can really only mean one thing.

Not sure what to do ladies - GP? Or just let nature take its course?

I'm also due to be at work today, does anyone know how painful a mc at 5 weeks is likely to be? I feel okay in myself, just really not sure what to do for the best. :(

MelMc73 · 20/05/2014 06:37

Brownish spotting is fine ladies. If the hpts say you're pregnant then you are and it doesn't matter about how faint the lines are. Try to stop testing and phone gp if you're worried x

fancyacupoftea · 20/05/2014 06:41

Phone GP this morning MrsG and get a blood test. Or, c

fancyacupoftea · 20/05/2014 06:42

Oops.
Or contact your local early pregnancy unit.

I really hope it's just harmless spotting x

MrsGingerbread · 20/05/2014 06:47

Thanks fancy - epu only interested at week 6 upwards apparently and I am only 5.

Think I will see if the GP can see me this morning. It would be good to get it "on my records". I know that any positive is a positive, but for it to go from a strong pink like to this barely there one in a few days really feels bad. :(

spinningirl10 · 20/05/2014 06:49

Popping on again from the May bus to say Linda, so pleased all is well and you got to see a heartbeat, great news Grin

Sazzle, a boy, how exciting. Bet they'll have lots of fun together Grin

EnglishGirlsReturned · 20/05/2014 07:07

MrsG, go to the drs. Unfortunately there is little they can do to change things but it might just put your mind at rest. Don't fear the worst just yet. ((Hugs))

MrsGingerbread · 20/05/2014 07:24

Thank you - I will go to the doctor's this morning.

What do I want him to do exactly? Obviously it will be good to get this on my notes, but is there anything in particular I should be asking for?

EnglishGirlsReturned · 20/05/2014 07:30

I wold just let him know whats going on. He might refer you for an early scan or could do a blood test and then another in a couple of days to see which way hcg is going. You will want to get it on your notes. Try to stay calm for now. Will be thinking of you.

I'm also nervous for my Drs appointment this morning now. I feel like i've made this whole pregnancy up. But I'm fully prepared to turn the water works on if need be!! And DH is coming with me for some support.

MelMc73 · 20/05/2014 07:37

Fx for you at the docs mrsg hopefully all will be well. Hope your apt goes well too English. I know how you feel about "making it up"....I feel a bit like that too. Only 5+3 here but only symptoms are sore nips!!

MelMc73 · 20/05/2014 07:38

sazzlehopes · 20/05/2014 08:36

mrsg hope it goes ok at the docs.

And thanks everyone for your nice words. It's funny in RL how many comments I have had already about do I feel disappointed that it's another boy? Like having a healthy baby and taking a year and half to conceive him isn't a blessing?!!! I'm disappointed that my ds wanted a girl and it's not, but other than that I LOVE boys. Hmmm that sounds a bit wrong, but you know what I mean! Grin

For those debating finding out or not I didnt the first time and I loved the surprise at the end. This time we found out for different reasons. I wasn't worried about knowing but now I'm glad I did as I think it gives time for my ds to bond better as he'll be 3.9yrs when baby arrives which is old enough to understand a lot more. Plus it means we get to plan better when on a budget, we don't need to buy anything which is great and the boys could even share a room later on!

I know what you all mean about the pink/girl stereotyping, it's hard to completely avoid it, but you have the majority control over clothes and toys etc.

Treaclepie19 · 20/05/2014 09:03

Hope everything goes ok today Mrsgingerbread x

lindamagoo · 20/05/2014 09:06

Spinning thank you so much Smile

English good luck at the doctors today.

MrsG ask your doctor to do your bloods and check the hcg levels then get another test in 2 days to see if they have gone up or down. I do hope everything is ok for you. Fingers crossed Thanks

lindamagoo · 20/05/2014 09:11

Starbright you know I'm now going to have to look up these bleach/bicarb gender tests? I really do need to stop p'ing on random stuff, lol Grin

lindamagoo · 20/05/2014 09:23

Hmmmm I will have to get some baking soda to p on, lol

PolytheneGirl · 20/05/2014 09:35

Good luck MrsG. I've got everything crossed for you. Just thought I'd also let you know that HPT can get fainter between 6 and 9 weeks as you HCG labels can get too high for them to detect. I think it was called the hook effect.

Good luck English if it helps, I felt the same and was sure my GP wouldn't believe me but he just took my work for it. Now I'm 9+5 and I've seen my GP and MW and nobody has questioned it or done any tests.

Just back from Dr. She was very nice. She's called local epu for an early scan - just waiting to hear back. She couldn't really say all was fine, but equally she said that the brown discharge is quite common. And she made a note of the mc that I had in Holland so that its on the system. So all in all, I'm glad I have the scan to hopefully put my mind at ease. What will be, will be.

MrsGingerbread · 20/05/2014 10:38

Hello everyone,

Thanks for all the good wishes. My doctor was very nice too and she has made me an appointment for tomorrow at the EPU. To do this she had to lie (she said I was 7 wks - I am just over 5). I'm thinking that this could cause more confusion and upset...I hope they don't get cross at ME! Does anyone have any experience of this?

She said that lots of people do get brown spotting/bleeds - so not to give up hope just yet, and see what happens next.

She also suggested I was a little too emotional to be at work today - so I have just let my manager know (without going in to any details). She suggested that I rest which sounds like a good idea.

I asked about blood tests, but she said that wasn't necessary and to see what the EPU say.

English - sounds like your appointment went well, that's good. :)

lindamagoo · 20/05/2014 10:50

English I'm glad your appointment went well, hope you don't wait long for a scan.

MrsG good luck for your scan tomorrow, I'm glad they got you in so soon but keep in mind that at such an early stage they might not be able to pick up a heartbeat but they should be able to see the pregnancy. I was 5 + 6 yesterday and she only just managed to see the heartbeat.

MelMc73 · 20/05/2014 10:53

I hope you feel better after the docs MrsG - sounds like she pushed the boat out to try and help ease your worries. Good luck for tomorrow's scan. Try to relax and put your feet up - watch some mindless telly on catch-up and have some Cake xx

English pleased to hear your docs apt went well too and that you got the referral you wanted to the epu xx

EnglishGirlsReturned · 20/05/2014 12:36

Scan on Thursday morning, by my calculations I'll be 6 weeks so hopefully I'll see a heart beat but I know it's still quite early. Fx!!

PolytheneGirl · 20/05/2014 12:45

Blimey. I wish my PCT were as on the ball. 9+5 here, my GP did an urgent referral for me 3 weeks ago and I'm still waiting for my appointment letter. I'm fuming! Going to ring again tomorrow.

Glad both your appointments went well. Smile
