Aww that's fantastic news Linda! A very enviable situation you'll have there!

Poly sounds like a good day, rhino poo and no cinder toffee aside of course.

Barmy sod the reports! They mean nothing anyway as parents already have judgments about their kids so if the report says otherwise they just think you're wrong!

PolytheneGirl · 30/05/2014 20:15

I wonder if Retro has her internet set up yet?

I wish I had the energy to make my own honeycomb but I don't. I need to sleep for a week! Oh and I forgot to say, I fell asleep sat on a bench at the safari park while DS and DH were on a ride! Stay classy!

That is exactly why I hate writing them fancy, they are a waste of time!

On a much more cheerful note from me, I think I may be starting to feel baby move Smile. I have felt various fluttering over the last few days and more today, so I am hoping it is him or her! (Never mind it is most likely gas!)

fancyacupoftea · 30/05/2014 22:58

Yay Barmy that's so exciting!!!

I can't feel the baby obviously (it's only a jelly bean after all) but I know exactly where it is due to the odd cramp feelings I get in the same place. Like the little pickle is shoving all my organs out the way to make room.

MademoiselleG · 30/05/2014 23:45

I've been busy Wink

It looks a bit weird actually on this picture and I haven't done the seams yet (well, I started, but I'm crap and it looks awful!) but it looks ok in real life. My first hat!

Barmy it most probably isn't gas! How very exciting!!

Zermatt · 31/05/2014 07:55

Wow MadamG that looks fab, can't believe it's you first hat, well done, love the stripes :)

MrsGingerbread · 31/05/2014 08:02

Just popping in to applaud MlleG's knitting! What a great hat!

I have just bought a tool to let you make heart shaped pompoms. Some can't think what to use it for, but at some point I'm sure it will come in useful! :)

Oooh heart shaped pom poms are a must. You can stick those bad boys on anything, scarves, hats, gloves, blankets, your DH's boxer shorts. They basically improve everything :)

fancyacupoftea · 31/05/2014 08:58

Wow that hat is amazing!!! Did you keep cutting the yarn when swapping or did you bring the other colour up the side (whatever that means)?
This is making me guilty about not picking mine up since Tuesday.

fancyacupoftea · 31/05/2014 09:00

I'm wondering whether to contact the MW this morning. I spoke last night about 'feeling' something and it's still there and I'm getting concerned now. It's like a throbbing or pressure in a specific place on my RHS but wondering whether I should get it checked out. Any point do you think?
I'm hoping a bowel movement might relieve the pressure somewhat. Wishful thinking?

broodysnoopstie · 31/05/2014 10:46

fancy I don't know but didn't want to read and run. Is it painful? What makes you worried? Does it feel different to other things you've been feeling? I'm sure someone more knowledgeable than me will know! Thanks

fancyacupoftea · 31/05/2014 10:47

I don't know. It's not painful as such just uncomfortable. Which makes me think that maybe it's okay and I'll ignore it and hope it buggers off.

I've already had 2 breakfasts.

Treaclepie19 · 31/05/2014 11:19

Keep an eye on it fancy, if it gets painful then go get it checked out.
There's no harm in calling your midwife though for some reassurance :)

fancyacupoftea · 31/05/2014 13:05

I'm the type of person who doesn't want to ring because I "don't want to cause a fuss".

But then causes a fuss by posting it all over the internet.

How is everyone today?

Knottyknitter · 31/05/2014 13:18

Any luck with the bowels, Fancy? Hope that sorted things?

Have to say I'd vaguely welcome a bit of antenatal constipation right now; seems my guts of steel are leading me to have nausea and diarrhoea rather than morning sickness and constipation Blush and the gas....crikey! I think DP suspects I'm trying to poison him!

10 weeks down now! Still no scan letter though, will have to ring on Monday, as even though I know I'm allowed the time off, I'll still need to cancel a clinic myself to get there, so ideally need to know before they give out those appointments.

fancyacupoftea · 31/05/2014 14:01

Nope, didn't solve things Knotty. I've decided I'll ring tomorrow if it's still happening.
Definitely ring them about the scan appointment. When was the referral for it made? Booking in app?
Really don't envy the diarrhoea, sorry it's still going on!

MademoiselleG · 31/05/2014 14:50

Well thank you Smile

fancy I just left the thread dangling and then picked it up again. It works well when the stripes are relatively small!

On closer inspection this morning, it is a little odd shaped...but it was reasonably quick to make (a week on and off...still a far cry from Retro 's 2 hours!) so I'm going to try another one, this time on circular needles. Do you know if you need needles the circumference of the finished project or does it not matter?

How is your weird sensation fancy?

Knottyknitter · 31/05/2014 14:59

It doesn't matter too much, but if you only have a longer one it's easier if it's lots longer, then you can pull a big loop of the cable between the stitches. A shorter one will just bunch up while you knit and be fine when you cast if off.

PolytheneGirl · 31/05/2014 15:01

Well I now have appointment letter coming out of my ears! 2 appointments on fri (scan and specialist mw), eye consultant on 13th, obs consultant on 25th and community midwife on 9/7. Was I really complaining about lack of appointments this week?

Madem that hat looks amazing! My knitting needles tried to get delivered this morning but we were out shopping. Won't be able to get to the post office till Tuesday now Sad. I will be clicking away in the waiting room come Friday!

Fancy I hope your tummy is feeling better Thanks
