Killer heartburn today. Bring on the gaviscon Hmm

MademoiselleG · 30/05/2014 09:28

Have you tried Tums, linda ? I got so sick of gaviscon last time (actually made me gag just smelling it, but then I had been guzzling it by the bottle for weeks!) that I tried them. Little chewable tablets from boots, safe in pregnancy, mild flavour and really worked for me at the 'early' stages of reflux. I later had to be prescribed omeprazol as I used to wake myself up being sick in the last few weeks...nice, huh?

Good luck with the move Retro - I said to dh we are never, EVER doing it ourselves again, even if we have to eat pasta for months. Last time was hell, you have my full sympathy and more!!

PolytheneGirl · 30/05/2014 09:29

Good Luck Retro. I think you could do with one of those directors chairs today! I can picture you now!

Can I have a little luck sent my way too please. We're just about to leave for a day at the safari park, i.e. A whole day in the car! I'm green already!

Uh ho poly ...did you invest in anti sickness bracelets? Quick stop at boots before you go? Good luck!! ((Hugs))

lindamagoo · 30/05/2014 09:33

Made I think I'll get tums today, as soon as I took the gaviscon earlier I remembered how much I hate it Hmm

Poly I do hope you are ok in the car, try and have a fun day Smile

PolytheneGirl · 30/05/2014 09:35

No Shock! I've got a sick bag and the biggest stash of mints you have ever seen. I have only just realised there will be animal smells too!!!

Good luck with the move Retro a pain in the arse to do but so worth it when you are all settled into your new gaff :)

Sazzle your friend is amazing, pure nails. I can't imagine what she must have been through, so pleased she came out of it well at the other side.

English I hope you're feeling better today, work or not do whatever helps relax you/take your mind off worrying. xx

I'm actually feeling a bit better today, it's a bank holiday weekend here in Aus which I'm so chuffed about, am going to capitalise on not feeling chunderous this evening by getting my favourite Indian take away, mmmm thali.

fancyacupoftea · 30/05/2014 11:05

Currently googling 'is it normal to have a pregnancy belly at 8 weeks with first baby'

lindamagoo · 30/05/2014 11:12

I did fancy, I've shown really early everytime Smile was really thin when I fell with ds 1 so bump was very noticable very quick

fancyacupoftea · 30/05/2014 11:20

Yeah am 5ft4 and size 8-10, healthy BMI etc and I had a bath this morning with a (to quote Retro) post-poo/pre-food belly and even though I was flat on my back it stuck out and couldn't be sucked in (normal bloat can me). Really dreading how I'm going to hide it at work next week!!!

fancyacupoftea · 30/05/2014 11:21

Google says that the double size uterus with amniotic fluid causes intestines to move upwards and outwards and stomach muscles go flaccid to prepare. THANKS BODY!

lindamagoo · 30/05/2014 11:39

Yeah I'm 5 ft 3 and was a size 6/8 when I first got pregnant, long gone are those days though Hmm lol

MelMc73 · 30/05/2014 11:55

lol fancy I am feeling particularly round as well. I've got a tummy from previous caesarean section but abdominals are usually fairly okay looking due to working out but now they are disappearing already!! I weighed myself this morning and only about a half pound weight gain though so it must be the uterus pushing everything Northwards!

retro good luck with the move!

MademoiselleG · 30/05/2014 12:34

Ah, so it's an intestines bump rather than a baby bump... I too am wondering how the hell I'll hide it at work! It'll be quite obvious if I suddenly start wearing smock tops and dresses...

MelMc73 · 30/05/2014 13:30

so it would seem mademoiselle!! leggings and wrap dresses for me. My work knows though!

lindamagoo · 30/05/2014 13:38

Well it looks like I'm off shopping for some leggings today, not been able to put my button in for ages now but I can't get my zip up anymore either Hmm oh the joys Smile

barmybunting · 30/05/2014 17:06

I want some wine!! It is Friday and I am still writing my reports and I would seriously love an ice cold glass of white wine just now. I don't normally drink more than a glass or two a week and haven't touched it since BFP, but heavens I want a glass tonight!

lindamagoo · 30/05/2014 17:31

barmy I'm with you on the wine, been a lovely day here and could just top it off with an amazing glass of chilled white Smile guess it's iced water instead then Hmm

PolytheneGirl · 30/05/2014 17:56

I survived! 4 hours in the car, it's a miracle. Luckily it was busy so the car moved slowly. Today I learnt, Rhino poo makes me want to vom, even if you think onions are a good idea, they are not, and a pregnant lady can get very upset by the sweet shop not having any cinder toffee!

I also had a noticeable bump at 8 wks first time round. I was a 6-8 (18 BMI) so just had nowhere to hide it! This time I'm a more healthy 8 but still had a little pot belly by 8 wks. SIL is slim but has wider hips and wasn't showing by 12 wks. I guess it's down to your frame really.

Oh and Barmy my midwife said 1-2 units is fine once or twice a week!

Just had some good news from our landlord! He has a bigger house for us, we can move later in the year and to make it even more fab it's next door to my bf who's baby is due 3 weeks before ours and our son's are at nursery together Smile

barmybunting · 30/05/2014 19:12

Poly , glad you survived! Rhino poo chat made me laugh!

Linda, that is great news about the house Smile.

Going to join some friends for a takeaway tonight so hopefully that will distract me from wine fantasies Smile!
