POLY!!!!!!! No way?! It's madness....can you turn up at the hospital and just demand to be seen? It looks like it might be the only way?

PolytheneGirl · 27/05/2014 15:12

I'm just going to scoff a bag of crisps for my sickness I really need to find an alternative to crisps! then I'm going to call. I would think that if it was sorted she'd have called. So I'm not hopeful. DH has suggested we just go and sit and say we're not going anywhere until we've been seen. It's seems so odd as my GP was certain if need to be seen ASAP. But the hospital say I can't been seen in clinic till after my scan. Surely everyone, even none high risk woman have got a scan letter before 11 weeks?

I got mines 2 weeks ago Poly so yeah you should have it by now. If it's not sorted ask for details of a complaints department, it's shocking how they've treat you

PolytheneGirl · 27/05/2014 15:27

Well that didn't go well! Angry

OP posts:
lindamagoo · 27/05/2014 15:31

Wtf? Seriously, it's still not sorted?

PolytheneGirl · 27/05/2014 15:33

I've made her get up from her desk to physically chase it up. She's going to call me back. If she doesn't I'm turning up at 8:30 tomorrow morning and banging some heads together.

OP posts:
lindamagoo · 27/05/2014 15:44

She better bloody call you back then. I'm seriously raging for you Angry who knew you could get so upset for someone you don't really know, lol

PolytheneGirl · 27/05/2014 16:12

So apparently my referral wasn't passed to the right department, as I'm high risk it should have gone to foetal medicine not the midwives and the midwives have instead of passing it on to the right place just pushed it to one side. Now I have to call back tomorrow to be put through to foetal meds. I'm so upset right now. I feel completely let down. I'm glad I've got all of you in my corner. I didn't expect to have to fight to get a routine appointment. Sad

Ooh, poly, I feel a very strongly worded letter of complaint is required. In not surprised you feel let down. Really hope it gets sorted quickly and you get an appointment soon.

lindamagoo · 27/05/2014 16:20

I'm with Retro about the strongly worded letter, there is really no excuse for what they have done, incompetent people who really should know better Angry

sazzlehopes · 27/05/2014 16:27

Yes - defo the letter. It is one thing to ignore a referral letter, but several calls from you as well explaining your situation - very very bad. I hope your call tomorrow goes better and you get seen asap. Thanks and Brew needed i think x

PolytheneGirl · 27/05/2014 17:04

I've just done a bit of reading about how to make a complaint and PALs. As soon as I've got an appointment out of them I'll be writing my complaint. Just hope it doesn't make them even more shitty with me!

OP posts:
fancyacupoftea · 27/05/2014 17:10

No Poly it won't make them more shitty because by the sounds of it the people you need to see never received your referral so the complaint won't be about them! Remember that there are tons of people on here willing to help you with that letter.

lindamagoo · 27/05/2014 18:02

Poly I think the department you should have been seen by if the referral had been passed on will be pissed of at this carry on aswell. I'll travel down there and kick some ass for you if you want? Having a day from Hell and could do with a good fight, lol

PolytheneGirl · 27/05/2014 18:10

Oh dear Linda, what's up?

OP posts:
lindamagoo · 27/05/2014 18:18

Och just been dragged into some family drama that I could really be doing without right now. Hopefully it'll blow over, but right now I don't actually care

fancyacupoftea · 27/05/2014 18:20

Linda sorry you've had a bad day. I prescribe tea, toast and your favourite TV.

lindamagoo · 27/05/2014 18:25

Fancy I like your prescription but I'll substitute TV for Kindle Smile OH is nightshift this week, starts at 8 so I'll be bedded nice and early and won't be answering my phone to any argumentative idiots

RetroHippy · 27/05/2014 18:27

My TV is off the wall ready for moving, so I'll be spending he evening on Pinterest looking at baby stuff. My DH is out too, I should be working but I'm too lazy sleepy.

fancyacupoftea · 27/05/2014 18:32

Oooh pinterest, good idea!
I want to write a list of everything I'm going to need for baby. I like lists. And then work through it one by one!

Tilly28 · 27/05/2014 18:34

Oh no poly I literally don't know how you have stayed so calm.

Welcome to newbies! Time is speeding on by. Iv got my midwife booking in appointment on Monday when il be 8+6 however iv still got a horrible bruise from my blood being taken incase of slap cheek on Friday (and I just realised I forgot to ring for results today!!!!) Excuse being I'm on holiday and DP is now DF (does that mean fiancé?) :-) :-) :-) very exciting times!!

I'm also carb loading like the rest of you and I'm so hungry yet don't actually fancy or enjoy anything :-/

fancyacupoftea · 27/05/2014 18:34

Actually, I should probably go through the pile of crap the midwife gave me.

PolytheneGirl · 27/05/2014 18:37

Bloody family! Nothing but trouble! My DH is on nights too, so early night tonight too, hopefully DS will let me actually sleep tonight, he was terrible last night. I'm seriously considering giving knitting a bash while my eyes are still ok. Is a hat an easy place to start?
