Try www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/roar-a-dinosaur-hat for a baby hat that looks like it was made for us!

Zermatt · 27/05/2014 12:32

Just bought your baby week by week MadamoiselleG thanks for the tip! reviews for it look really good.

MademoiselleG · 27/05/2014 12:33

I love a good bargain retro , I just squealed with delight at yours!

poly , well done for keeping it under control!

sazzlehopes · 27/05/2014 12:34

Hey ladies - I found what to expect a good all rounder book. Bit presumptuous in places, but had enough facts for me and handy for the first bit of babies life too!
I'm going to get the Wonder Weeks this time, I've heard really good things about it. I'd defo steer clear of a lot of those gina ford books though, seriously every baby is different, and I think we should all just trust our instincts better. Sometimes a book telling you something different makes you feel like the book knows best, whereas I PROMISE you - you as the mother definitely knows best!

You need to get Box Sets for mat leave...none of that daytime tv rubbish!

sazzlehopes · 27/05/2014 12:37

MademG have a good flight.
Retro - well done on the bargain, excellent hunting skills!
And Poly...URhhhhh I hope she does call back, otherwise shall we ALL call on your behalf?!!!!

I'm 22+3 today - yikes it really flies past once you hit the 12 week mark.
Started preggo yoga though which is making me feel so much better.

PolytheneGirl · 27/05/2014 12:40

I've completely forgotten to say CONGRATULATIONS toFlirty!

Bad Poly! Too wrapped up in your own shit! So...

Congratulations and welcome Flirty. Best of luck x

I REALLY want to do preggo yoga Sazzle. Are you going to a group or using a DVD?

OP posts:
MademoiselleG · 27/05/2014 12:47

Gosh I forgot too: congratulations flirty and welcome!!

Thanks sazzle . Dd isn't having a nap as it clashes with flight time...this could be interesting!

Definitely with you on box sets AND Netflix, especially for those looooong night feeds! I was also hugely grateful for my kindle and forever nicked dh's iPad (finally managed to persuade him I absolutely needed my own, tehee!).

sazzlehopes · 27/05/2014 12:50

I'm going to a group poly because I'm pretty lazy/and work from home and know I'd never find the time and justify myself that hour instead of washing up, housework or working etc. It's been lovely actually- I've gone back to the same person I went to with my first boy and I feel I'm giving myself a chance to connect with this baby as it's very different 2nd time round! Time is flying by and most of the time I forget there's a baby coming in September!!!
I've heard good things about a dvd though if you've done a bit of yoga before - it just suits me better to go to a class. I also didn't do NCT last time so it gave me the chance to meet other preggo ladies.

PolytheneGirl · 27/05/2014 13:06

I've just looked into NCT too. I was surprised there was a course just round the corner. I just need to convince DH it's worth spending the money on. I wish I'd done it when I had DS just for the meeting other couples factor.

I'd really struggle to commit to a yoga class as DH works shifts and would mean organising babysitting and transport (I'm a non-driver). I'm going to give a DVD a go. Hoping it might make me feel a bit brighter!

I can't wait to do classes and meet preggos. Really don't know any!

Well my mw appointment didn't go as entirely well as I'd have hoped. Got to the very end and she went to take my bloods but couldn't find a vein. Now have to go to the hospital this afternoon so they can try and find one and get my elusive blood. Good job I had no plans today!

PolytheneGirl · 27/05/2014 13:19

Oh no Fancy, that always happens to me. When I was in hospital having DS I was hooked up to all sorts of drips and things and my veins kept collapsing. It was a nightmare! My preggo app said "you're probably noticing lots of veins popping up where there were none before, this is due to an increase in blood volume..." Nope not me!

OP posts:
fancyacupoftea · 27/05/2014 13:21

I told her I have plenty of brand new juicy veins on my boobs but she wasn't interested.

Prude.

PolytheneGirl · 27/05/2014 13:22

Lol Fancy

sazzlehopes · 27/05/2014 13:38

Bahahahahahaaaaaa Fancy!!!!
Good luck with the blood test later.

RetroHippy · 27/05/2014 13:47

Your pregnancy week by week - £3.99
What to expect - £2.99

BARGAIN!!!

Curled up on the sofa for a read Grin

Going to treat myself to a gorgeous journal with the money I saved to record the pregnancy and baby's first few years. Nothing too regular, maybe monthly updates. Somewhere to put the photos and stuff.

PolytheneGirl · 27/05/2014 13:59

Well it's now 2 hours till this woman finishes work. She has 90 minutes before I'm back on the phone and no longer trying to control my RAGE!!

ROAR!

OP posts:
lindamagoo · 27/05/2014 14:20

Poly if they don't sort it for you today post their phone number and we will all phone on your behalf ROAR ROAR, lol

fancyacupoftea · 27/05/2014 14:53

The hospital is now the proud owner of a load of vials of my blood from what is apparently the one viable vein that I have. Brilliant.
Poly I'm putting my shoes on to come up to Birmingham and sort them out. Please tell me it isn't the QE? I see it as this magical building where wonderful things must happen. It will ruin my good thoughts about it.

PolytheneGirl · 27/05/2014 14:57

Haha thanks ladies. Can you imagine if 20 Dragon Ladies called up demanding and appointment for me, I'd probably end up on some kind of list.

It's not the QE Fancy, it's City. Beyond useless!

OP posts:
chillychicken · 27/05/2014 14:57

Ah retro a journal sounds like a lovely idea.

Poly I am so Angry for you. This has been a complete mess and you don't need the stress.

12 weeks tomorrow and I remembered that I'd planned on taking a weekly photo from 12 weeks onwards. Unfortunately, I'm only showing a "bourbon biscuit bump" at the moment Blush

Have ordered a tankini in 3 different sizes. Forgot to order a new bra. Doh.

PolytheneGirl · 27/05/2014 14:58

We're down to 30 mins and my blood is beginning to boil!

OP posts:
fancyacupoftea · 27/05/2014 15:01

Boo to City. They can sod off.

Think you need to ring them back up! Have you spoken to a supervisor yet? Think we may need to collectively write a strongly worded letter to the complaints dept of the hospital.

When I was in the antenatal clinic of our local hospital getting my bloods done I felt very out of place among all the preggos in the waiting room before realising that I deserved to be there too. Very odd realisation.

lindamagoo · 27/05/2014 15:02

Poly I wouldn't even wait any linger I'd phone now and get them bloody told, ridiculous so they are

fancyacupoftea · 27/05/2014 15:03

By the time I wake up from my nap they'd better have got in touch Poly!
