Congratulations Tilly, lovely news Smile no wonder you're feeling forgetful Grin oooh, you have so much stuff you could look at Pinterest for Grin

poly, a hat is as good a place as any. Blankets are easy, boring and take years. A hat might be a little trickier, but chances are you'll finish it Grin good luck, pics when you've finished...

fancy, I love lists. It's the teacher in me. Need a pad and pen though and they're all packed. Want a bath but I'm scared I won't know if it's too hot. might do my usual Tuesday trick and nip up to Sainsbo's for a posh ready meal and a Gu pud

A healthy one with loads of veg. Obvs.

EnglishGirlsReturned · 27/05/2014 18:55

Bloody hell! You lot are very chatty today!

Poly, I can't believe the incompetence of the hospital Shock!! Thats so bad!! Def get a letter going!! Bunch of useless twats!

Tilly - congratulations!! How lovely!!

All this knitting talk is making me feel very useless!! Wouldn't have a clue!!

I'm feeling very bloated today!! I look like i'm a lot further along than I am!! Blush

PolytheneGirl · 27/05/2014 19:02

Retro I figure I'm going to be doing 3 hour antenatal visits to the hospital once or twice a fortnight if I ever get seems, so it will give me something productive to do in the waiting room. I m prob going to be tapping you up for needle and wool advice very soon.

English it's because we're on half term so us teachers can do what we do best - sit and dick around on the internet!

CONGRATULATIONS TILLY!!!! I bloody love weddings so very happy you're having one! I'll PM you my address to send the invite to. And I'll let you know my sizes for the bridesmaid dress. And I'll have a think about being your Maid of Honour. I mean, we do hardly know each other but I will if you insist.

Poly just start with some swatches to get you used to it and then you might as well start with the hat! Think this blanket is going to take bloody years.

Turns out 90% of the stuff the mw gave me is advertisements for products. Thanks.

PolytheneGirl · 27/05/2014 19:40

Ok Fancy and Retro, what size needles do I need?

MundayCakes85 · 27/05/2014 19:58

Welcome to all our new penis dragon incubators!
Sorry you're having such an awful time Poly I hope you get things sorted tomorrow and make sure you get that complaint lodged.
Congratulations Tilly sound like you've got a romantic fiancé there Smile Maybe the girls on here could knit your dress? I'll bring cupcakes for the reception Wink
22+2 today and lots of movement in my belly, mostly when I'm sat/ lying nice and quietly

RetroHippy · 27/05/2014 20:00

Gosh ladies, think the tiredness is kicking in. Feel like I've been hit with a brick. No energy for knitting... Zzzzzzz

fancyacupoftea · 27/05/2014 20:09

I've done 1 row. It's a bloody big blanket.

Erm needle sizes I don't know Poly! Depends on the size of the yarn. If you look at the pattern Retro posted earlier then it has some needle suggestions but they're US sizes but you can convert here www.yarnfwd.com/main/needleconv.html

RetroHippy · 27/05/2014 20:21

Noooo fancy, see ^^^ about blankets! It might be finished for the next baby Wink

poly, for little things that need to come out a particular size, you need to use the correct size needle. For blankets, scarves etc, bigger needles and chunky wool knit up faster Grin

MademoiselleG · 27/05/2014 20:31

Tilly how exciting!!! Congratulations Grin you can now officially unleash the powers if Pinterest on baby AND wedding stuff, lucky you!!

How did he propose? Did you cry? Do you have a date? Oh I love a wedding Smile

As for dd and I: arrived in France safe and sound but absolutely shattered and in bed already! Dm reckons I'm already showing...it's going to be hard to hide it at school for the whole of next term. (I don't know why, I just don't want work to know. They've been shit and I don't want to be all celebratory and stating good news...)

Poly: stupid question BUT is there any way you could go to another better hospital? It's incredibly infuriating what they've done to you.

linda ((hugs)) enjoy kindle time and remember: you're building a person. No extra stress needed.

PolytheneGirl · 27/05/2014 20:35

Ok I've ordered a range of sizes of bamboo needles, as I read bamboo is best for beginners and DM has some metal ones I will pinch when I get good, which I will! I've downloaded a how to app. As soon as those needles arrive I'll start practicing with the crap wool I have at home.

By the time I've done that. The cat will be out the bag about my little bean and I'll be able to drag DM to pick out some nice wool. I think duck egg blue is nice for both boys and girls, what do you think? I don't want to get stuck with white and cream. Although I'm imagining little cream booties!

I've thought a out it Madem but the next closest hosp to me closed its maternity unit a couple of years back and the next one is miles away. The thing is,I know the medical care is really good where I am, it's just seems that everyone else is rubbish!

lindamagoo · 27/05/2014 20:42

Thank you Made, I will not be taking anymore crap from anyone Smile

Boys all tucked up in bed, hopefully they will be good for me. Time for some Dean Koontz and a chilled evening Smile

fancyacupoftea · 27/05/2014 20:43

I meant I'd done 1 row tonight Retro (now 2!) so I'm a total of 9 rows in so feel way to invested to stop now! I might say something different in 3 months when I'm only 15 rows in.

Glad you got there safely Mademoiselle but sorry you're feeling bad tonight. Hope after a good night's sleep you feel a lot better!

PolytheneGirl · 27/05/2014 20:47

Ooh, what colour are you doing Fancy? Is it a nice pattern? I'm living my knitting fantasy through you right now!

You lots are way to handy with the knitting needles! Would def save us some pennies if my dress can be knitted by you guys lol! Erm....it was very lovely (scared to say where it was incase it outs me!) He was so nervous and I practically jumped on him and grabbed the ring before he had time to finish lol! :-) :-) it's so pretty and sparkly I can't stop looking at it!

Load of peope have asked about a date, give us a chance lol! With baby due in Jan I'm not sure tbh! Mum keeps saying next summer but I'm thinking summer 2016 will give us more chance to save (and me to loose weight after this pregnancy! Lol)

Def going to Pinterest wedding things but been holding off on baby stuff as I'm friends with people on Pinterest who don't know and I'm not sure if they can see what iv been looking at etc! :-)

Can't wait to just tell everyone about the pregnancy now, think they will all be shocked as no one knew we were trying! Close family (mum, gran, sisters and bros) know already but think my friend will be so excited!!! :-)

fancyacupoftea · 27/05/2014 20:59

Awww that's really lovely Tilly! Think you can do a private board on pinterest- I did one for wedding dresses that only I could see. It was very useful!

Poly I'm doing this blanket but in this yarn so it's all speckled and different colours. It looks really good so far as you have to use two strands of yarn so it's chunkier and specklier.

MademoiselleG · 27/05/2014 21:04

Gosh tilky eggs an exciting year ahead you have! This is like 2011/12 was for us: dh popped the question in April, we went away in SE Asia for Easter hols and came back preggers! We still got married in July when dd was 6 months; was a GREAT incentive to lose all the baby weight and she was soooooo cute in her little flower girl dress

MademoiselleG · 27/05/2014 21:05

tilly
And *what, not eggs. Wth?!

Tilly28 · 27/05/2014 21:07

Definitely an exciting year mademoiselle must admit I do keep thinking it will be so nice to have him/her at the wedding with us! :-)

Thanks fancy will have to have a little look at Pinterest and see about making a private board for now!

PolytheneGirl · 27/05/2014 21:14

Fancy that is going to be so nice! More incentive to get started now! Are you knitting it in one go or in sections? It looks like a big job!

Really lovely Tilly I'm so excited for you Grin

Love your wool choice fancy. How are you finding knitting with two strands? I'd end up tangled!
