Hi all, I'm up feeding Sebastian and thought is check in. All you overdue ladies are being so positive, I'm very impressed. Hope you don't have long to wait til you are meeting new babies.

dobedobedo · 21/05/2014 04:19

Aww I love reading the birth stories on here! Congrats vikks!

Hope those of you still waiting aren't going too crazy. Your babies will be here soon enough!

I've not posted a whole lot lately. I'd forgotten just how hard the first days post birth are! Also Jesse has tongue tie which is making breastfeeding very painful and complicated as I need to use all these weird and convoluted latch techniques to minimise damage to my poor shredded nipples. He has been referred to a specialist though so hopefully we can get it fixed soon. If I didn't have such a good experience of breastfeeding with ds1, I'd have given up by now. But I know how good it can be so I hope his tie is fixed soon so we can get to the good bit. And the support I've had from the midwifery team is amazing. They've come out, sat with me as I feed, cuddled me when I cried and didn't bat an eyelid as I swore through the pain! Dh also is a star. He does everything!

Jesse is awesome though. Such a chilled out baby. He put 130g on at his five day check, despite the tongue tie! And I'm starting to get over the labour. (back to back and drip induction - it hurt so much worse than when ds1 was born. Seriously ladies, take all the drugs you can! I was begging for a general anaesthetic at one point!)

Right well now Jesse has finished feeding, I'd better try and get back to sleep!

Congrats vikks!! Its so crazy how diff. Everyone is!!! Some women are dialated to a 3 for weeeks!!! And some women nothing and bam!!!

Ive had a very strong feeling lately that I will have to be induced next week... I never even thought about it before so today I looked into how it works and by the sounds of it.. . Its not so bad... My boyfriend currently works 2 hours away.. and will be home for the weekend so thatd be really nice time for LO to come out!!! But if not atleast a planned induction would bring him home in time.

On a good note.. all of us still waiting made it another day!!!! Haha sometimes I wake up thinkin im not gunna make it... or the people who hang around me wont since I am capable of snapping at any moment!!! Lol. 1 more day till due date!!

Who's gunna be next ladies?!?!?!!!

Morning all

40+4.

Still pregnant.

In other news, the now legendary sofa we have been waiting on from John Lewis is meant to be delivered this morning. Only 5 weeks late... We had bets on to see whether baby or sofa would arrive first. Oh well - at least I am finally going to have somewhere soft to sit down on the ground floor of my house.

Jonquille · 21/05/2014 09:25

Good morning!
Well I can say a good one as I finally had a lie in and feel like human. Still 40+2 and pregnant. But not as tired as I have been. Was walking and doing too much not be overdue, but ended up being super tired and having a a sore throat. Doctor thought lots of water and bed would help. And she was right feeling a lot better now. Put the last of Canesten pessary last night as well. So I hope this is the infection sorted too. I have midwife appointment today, so I will find out more about the baby and if there is any sign. I was in labour with DD1 by this stage. So it feels strange to be o reduce and not to feel anything. Plus I am ignoring all e messages and phone calls asking for news.

Vicks, what a birth story! Congratulations!
Bushyprincess, I love your positivity. If no news, I want to get a pedicure as wanted one for long.
I think Moobaloo, had the same due date as me 19th of May. Will be waiting news from her as well.
Have a lovely day everybodyThanks

Spirael · 21/05/2014 09:29

Lovely birth story, Vikks! :) Sounds like it all went really well.

Still pregnant here, my curry and pineapple yesterday was apparently ineffective, bah. Got more pineapple for today, but DH being out of reach for several hours this afternoon is likely to have more effect!

One thing I forgot to mention following my MW appointment yesterday is that it transpired that DD1 was born back to back. I remember DD1 looking up at me as she was born, but I hadn't thought much of it at the time. Just figured that was normal!

The MW was stunned, especially as DD1 was born in less than 5 hours with paracetamol and the birthing pool as my only pain relief. Apparently back to back births are meant to be twice as long and a lot more painful. Confused Apparently I must have a pelvis you could drive a bus through.

Looking back, it does all make sense as I remember all the contraction pain being in my back and getting the urge to push very early - which is common for back to back babies. Explains a bit more why I tore last time as well, if I was pushing before I was fully dilated!

DD2 looks to be correctly positioned and second births are meant to be quicker and easier, so rather than go over induction with me the MW instead instructed me on what I need to do if things happen extremely quickly and I end up giving birth by myself.

Not sure whether that's encouraging or not. Hmm I'm all for a quick and easy birth, but it's now made me very wary about leaving the house-!

moobaloo · 21/05/2014 10:13

Fab birth story vikks!

Hope all the new mummies are doing well despite the difficulties! Very proud and envious of you all xxx

Jonquille Hi! Yes my due date was the 19th Hmm 40+2 today and not feeling very close to giving birth! Keep getting texts from friends... Next time I'm going to tell them a date at least a week after the due date so I don't get bugged so early! (I'll probably get a baby at 37 weeks then - won't mind that!) However I keep replying as I don't want anyone thinking I'm in labour!

Did some crawling around on my hands and knees yesterday to try and encourage baby to stop being back to back, but just ended up being desperate to recline in the worst position for back to back babies on my beanbag! I resisted, but when I went to bed my whole lower back ached like mad Sad

Trying to adopt bushprincess's attitude to being overdue. It's a nice day here so I'm going to go to the shops and then do some baking and pottering around. Have decided baby doesn't want to arrive on a nice day as he's too considerate, so hopefully he'll arrive when it's tipping it down with rain so we don't have to miss a day in the sun!

Hugs and Labour Vibes to all!

rebeccax2 · 21/05/2014 13:25

Hi All. 40 + 1 today and at least feeling slightly more positive than yesterday. Going to have a sweep tomorrow if my cervix is ready.

Trying to stay positive as well. Big hugs and labour vibes to all my overdue ladies.

xx

3sthenew2 · 21/05/2014 15:34

Dhamm fingers crossed we get our due dates! It's our county show here tomorrow though so the traffic will be hell on the way to the hospital so hoping for an ealy morning or late afternoon.
Had a burst if nesting this morning and now I'm knackered and aching so had a very lazy afternoon. I feel your pain about being constantly uncomfortable.
Just watched one born every minute, does that counts antenatal as haven't been to any!

bushprincess · 21/05/2014 16:48

Hope sweep went well Rebecca and you've enjoyed your sunny day Moo

Ticked off unpleasent chores today like dentist appointment and meeting with accountant.... then afternoon on the beach so i call that a productive day!

Storm due tomorrow so telling bushbaby that it would be an ideal time to arrive!

spirael that sounds really positive, not if you end up giving birth alone of course, but the prospect of a quick labour must be reassuring!!

Loads of positive labour vibes to all!!!

loopylou52 · 21/05/2014 17:21

Just been attempting to catch up on the thread. Congratulations on any births I've missed in my post-birth haze. Sorry to all those waiting and feeling frustrated.

Still a bit of a rollercoaster here but Oliver's feeding is much better and the midwife was happy with his weight at his check today. I feel shocking and have no idea how much of it is down to recovering from the cs and how much down to sleep-deprivation. So much to be grateful for though!

bushprincess · 21/05/2014 17:54

Hugs loopy, hope you're surrounded by lots of loving support to help you through, you've had major abdominal surgery so have lots of mending to do, give yourself rest (however that works with a newborn!) Xxx

loopylou52 · 21/05/2014 19:03

Thanks bush. Yes, got lots of support - dh is being a star, I just feel bad for how much I'm relying on him and frustrated about how little I can do. Hope I'm not scaring those yet to pop - it is worth every little bit of it! Smile

MrsFooCough · 21/05/2014 20:00

Hey all
Quick update
Induction failed - well, I was 4cm and contracting v frequently and regularly on the syntocinon drip - so I was offered an epidural which obviously I grabbed with both hands! Ended up with an emcs, baby Grace Caroline was born at 00:01 on Wednesday 20th May weighing 10lbs
Very very sore after an extremely rummage-y caesarean, but the little Bean is totally worth it (although I can't do ANYTHING without feeling like my insides are trying to escape through my stomach now and all the hard work has made me ridiculously tired.
So there's the news

Maybies 2014, babies arriving daily!

Yay congratulations to all with squishy new babies!
C-section booked for fri but they rang today to see if I could do tomorrow instead. We thought long and hard but because of childcare for dd and the fact that today has been rather testing we decided to stick with original day. Can't believe I could have been having him tomorrow morning, I'm not ready!!

loopylou52 · 21/05/2014 23:05

Congratulations mrsfoo! Sounds similar to my story. Hope you're doing ok. Take it easy and enjoy those cuddles!
