I get the feeling that more people were early that late! Makes m&s pessimistic that someone is going to have to even up the odds... I.e me!

mrsmummytobe · 19/05/2014 23:07

Thanks for the support everyone. Just to let you know I am now feeling so much better. The catheter was taken out today & my bladder seems to be in much better shape. Unfortunately my little daughter has a touch of jaundice so we will be in hospital 1 more night & possibly 2!

dhamm22 · 19/05/2014 23:13

Thanks that makes me feel a little better!!

bushprincess I feel the same way.. I worked till 38 weeks.. so one weekb off now and I am losing my mind!! I want to go back! My co workers say how lucky Iam and I have to explain that sitting home for a week not being able to do anything fun or go out drinkin with the girls.. or excersize.. while I sit bored in pain and sleepless nights is not my idea of a vacation from work!!! Hopefully the fun will arive soon!!! But as of now.. still feelin like im in it for the long haul.

SicknSpan · 19/05/2014 23:35

moobaloo I did the Hollywood labour first time round- waters break, instant contractions, baby born fairly soon after as per in the movies- so it might happen for you too! Fingers crossed Thanks

Jonquille · 20/05/2014 03:19

Hello ladies,

Congrats to evryone who had babies. Thanks
I haven't posted here for ages. 19th was my due date with yellow bump. Nothing happened obviously Confused With my DD1 my waters broke on my due date. Now I am sat with worst hay fever attack. Head is banging, nose is blocked, and I am coughing like mad. Had a walk during the day. Now I wish I didn't. As I am tired and sick, looks like heat go me Hmm
Besides, last week midwife found infection, so using the pessary to treat it now. Hopefully all gets well before I am in labour. Last week my mum and sister came to help. And I was having constant BH before, but now they are here nothing! And people calling, asking, FBing makes me even Angry They do know how it is, why they would put you through this? Sorry for the rant, but looks like my irritated mood makes everybody walk in their tiptoes at homeSad
Hope tomorrow is a better day for all of us Thanks

nugget05 · 20/05/2014 05:03

Congratulations on all the new arrivals, I would be more
excited but I'm helping balance all the early 1s by still being f**king pregnant Angry 41wks today and no sign of him getting out Sad 1st attempt at a sweep on weds but I have a feeling it won't help. sending labour vibes to my fellow overdue mums! Cake

bushprincess · 20/05/2014 07:06

Moan alert!!

Everyone is out, should have gone for a swim while dh is at the .gym but was just feeling moapy and couldn't be bothered....now stomping around the house feeling sorry for myself, have made some bread, bounced on my ball and am BORED!

Always wanting more time to myself without work, now I've got it I'm out frustrated that baby hasn't come yet! Shouldn't moan as i should still have a week until induction so plenty of time for him to arrive....but don't feel like he's anywhere near coming!

He's been fully engaged for coming on 4 wks now, had loads of bh a few weeks ago but now nothing!

Grrrrrrrrr so frustrated! (Know that doesn't help but have to say it)

Sorry all, trying not to moan to dh and family so using you all to vent at!

Not helped by incessant calls/texts/fb messages asking for news (which is unfair as obviously it's wonderful that people are excited but just highlights lack of baby when i have to constantly say 'nothing yet'!

Sorry for moan, makes me feel better though Xxx

bushprincess · 20/05/2014 07:14

That's really random, not sure how I've just managed to repost yesterday epic moan, suffice to say please ignore!

Sounds like there are a few of us feeling the same way, hugs to you all,

However, today's a new day and I'm about to get up and face it with positively, baby may or may not be on the way but either way I'm going to enjoy the down time!

(Positive affirmations... it will work Wink

No news from mrsfoo on her induction, hope all is going well xx

Jonquille · 20/05/2014 07:51

Good morning,

Bushprincess I like your attitude. Thanks
I need to be more positive too. We will soon have them and this will be of past.
I just sent off DH to work with grump Confusedas now I have a cough and a headache. I don't know if its just a sore throat, or my hay fever. I will see midwife tomorrow on 40+2 and I hope she can do sweep and stretch and tell me how are the things going. Or is it my wishful thinking?

Spirael · 20/05/2014 08:26

Great news that things seem to be recovering, mrsmummytobe. :) I was keeping my fingers crossed for you that it was just a temporary problem in the aftermath of birth. Might take a few weeks, but hopefully all will soon return to full working order!

Still grumpy and pregnant here. Got my MW appointment in a couple of hours, not really sure what to expect anymore as I never got as far as a 38 week appointment last time around! I anticipate it'll just be the usual measuring and testing of samples and BP.

Got a good chance things might kick off tomorrow... DH has an interview in the afternoon so will be 30 mins drive away and out of mobile contact for an hour and a half. Bets that everything will happen then? Wink I have a friend ready to drop everything and rush over to support me if it does happen.

I really want DD2 to arrive by the weekend. My parents are visiting and I'm sure they'd rather see a lovely newborn granddaughter than a huge grumpy daughter!

At least it's not as hot and muggy today. I felt like I was melting for most of yesterday!

ohdearitshappeningtome · 20/05/2014 10:15

Sorry bush- I just seen your grumpy that people asking if bush baby has arrived and I just did it on fb. X
SorryThanks

ClearlyMoo · 20/05/2014 10:16

Trying to catch up with everyone. Seems like a lot of overdue lovely bumpy ladies having a well deserved whine!

Baby B was a week over due and, Bush, I'm sorry to say fully engaged from 35 weeks. Made NO difference! Gah!

All I can say from the wisdom of the other side (!) is that the baby DOES have to come out and NHS won't let them stay in past 15 days over so it will happen soon! And when it happens YOU GET A BABY! I know!

Sore and fairly useless here bit so in love with baby B!

MasterFlea · 20/05/2014 10:24

Really glad to hear you are getting better mrsmummy.

3sthenew2 · 20/05/2014 10:39

Checking in at 39+5 with baby number 3 and seeking refuge from all the "haven't you popped" "still here" ect comments. I know everyone means well but I'm not even overdue! Had lower back ache and a few braxton hicks yesterday but bump is so active that other than trying to propel its self out I'm not sure it's ready to go anywhere. Feeling very lethargic after weeks of nesting so a few days rest will probably do me some good.
Good luck everyone, at least it's cooled a little not that my huge swollen foot is aware of the change in temp yet!

randdom · 20/05/2014 11:15

I am feeling really emotional and miserable today and I have no reason for it at all. All I want to do is lie in bed with my head under a pillow :(

Spirael · 20/05/2014 11:21

Just back from my MW appointment here. Baby is apparently very engaged and has jumped from measuring exactly right for dates to being 41cm at 38 weeks. Hmm There is apparently zero space left and the MW is shocked baby still fits.

She's made me another appointment for two weeks time, but doesn't expect me to go beyond the weekend. Grin Let's hope she's right!

Well, got curry planned for dinner, pineapple in the fridge and I think I may indulge in some stair walking and/or nipple tweaking. This baby is coming out whether she likes it or not! [stubborn]

I bet I'll still be pregnant in three weeks and facing an induction at hopsital.

rebeccax2 · 20/05/2014 11:57

random I feel exactly the same. I could actually not leave my room today and not talk to anyone at all. I'm so fed up today, and can't stop crying.

My mum has flown all the way over from Australia to be with me and it's adding to the pressure. She's here for the birth but as I keep reminding her that could be 2 weeks away and I need her to just chill out a bit.

'Any changes this morning, darling' makes me want to punch her. I feel like a bad daughter, a bad partner and I've had enough.

Happy due date to me. :-(

moobaloo · 20/05/2014 13:07

(Hugs) rebecca and randdom and anyone else who needs them xxx

Exciting Spirael! Fingers crossed for you

3sthenew2 - the "haven't you had it yet?" comments are soo irritating! Don't worry, we all understand here!

Had 40+1 appt with Midwife this morning. Walked to and from clinic to try and encourage things (3 miles) but just ended up hot and swollen. Baby has gone from being in perfect birth presentation since 28 weeks to being back to back! Why right now?? I was crawling around on my hands and knees weeding at the weekend too. Grr. Any tips on turning? I don't have a ball, but I'm making sure I sit forwards with my legs wiiiide apart any chance I get.

She attempted a sweep but unfortunately my cervix was closed. however she says it's soft and effaced so not all bad.

Booked in for next week for another sweep but hoping I have to cancel!!!

My midwife said the only things that work to bring labour on are Induction, Sweeps and Sex!

Choppa · 20/05/2014 14:39

Hi all

Congrats on the arrivals loopy, clearly and mrsmummy!!

Our little boy Max arrived on Saturday at 40+5 weighing in at 9lbs. I have posted full birth story on fb but in a nut shell I did most of my labouring at home (planned homebirth) but had to transfer in as baby was back to back and progression had stopped. Ended up with epidural (which saved me!) but otherwise a normal vaginal birth without any tearing or stitches. The contractions of a back to back baby were like nothing on this earth and so so different to my first homebirth with DS1 which was all textbook. Anyway, alls well that ends well and Max is scrummy.

Thinking of all of you still waiting...especially those overdue. It is so tough in the last few days. It will happen soon xxx

dhamm22 · 20/05/2014 20:05

3sthenew2 I think we sshare a due date! 22nd??

Im so glad im not the only one feelin like a slug!! Everyone tells me I should be nesting and bla bla.. I just lay in bed until I cant anymore.. everything hurts.. if I go to my right side I squish my stomach and feel like puking.. if I roll to my left my back muscles throb.. if I sit upmy cervix hurts.. if I stand my pelvis throbs.. I dont want to do anything!!! My mom motivated me to get up and shower today.. that helped .. I made it to her couch haha.

2 days till due date... 9 days till (maybe) induction. Feel like death! More pineapple for dinner.

loopylou52 · 20/05/2014 21:30

Hi ladies, just wanted to say sorry I haven't been on lately, been in a bit of a post-birth haze. Feeling a little overwhelmed with it all - Oliver had some feeding issues and jaundice and my blood pressure was up. Home from hospital now and things are slowly improving but it's all a bit of a rollercoaster. Totally worth it though! Grin Grin Sorry I haven't caught up and sorry if I don't post for a while. Still thinking of you all lots and will reconnect with the world soon!

bushprincess · 20/05/2014 22:49

Hey all!!

positive thoughts definately helping here, had 41wk midwife appointment this morning and apart from being saying how suprised she was that I'm still waiting was really lovely, bushbaby is doing great, still so low he's threatening to fall out any moment and she's v.happy to hold off any induction till next tuesday (we're hoping for a home birth and she's really supportive so trying to keep me out of hosp!)... she'll come to my house after her last appointment on friday to give me a sweep (assuming things haven't kicked off on their own by then), can give another on sat if needed and then offered to monitor from tuesday onwards if we're not keen on induction (will decide nearer the time). All in all it was a great appointment and left feeling like I don't have some big timeline held over me (so long as little one is ok during all this time)

Anyhow, that, plus a sunny evening on the beach with the hounds has left me feeling good. So let me pass on the 'happily waiting' vibes to all Smile (hope that doesn't sound somehow smug....feel free to punch me if needed Wink

So glad you're home from hospital loopy and enjoy your blissful cocoon with oliver!

ohdear, as I said on fb - don't worry - you guys are allowed to ask - in the knowledge that depending on the day you'll either get the happy or grumpy reply as needed! With everyone in RL it's having to maintain the constantly upbeat facade that kills!!

welcome 3sthenew2!! sorry you found us on a moan day!

big hugs to rebecca and random

Hope everyone sleeps well, really hoping we'll wake up to some wonderful baby foo news!

xxx

Vikks · 20/05/2014 23:22

Hi All I’ve finally got chance to catch up on what I’ve missed while I’ve been off becoming a mummy for the second time! I updated FB but for the thread; Olivia Rose was born on Saturday after a very shorty induction, 21:02, 7lb 6oz @40+1. She's doing very well and we are settling in at home now.
I really feel for you ladies going over your dates my DS was 42 weeks and I remember how crazy I was starting to feel. Plus the added bonus of family and friends wanting ‘any news’, I was starting to get them this time and I’d only gone over by one day! Anyway….you are doing great. My advice is to plan a nice treat each day for yourself (lunch out, pedicure, etc) and if you have to cancel, then so be it!

My birth story….After been told to arrive for induction at 9am on Saturday, we were told that they were full and we would be waiting around until there was room on labour ward as this was my second child they said it could happen very quickly.
Finally got the induction around 1:30pm and started having contraction about 6:30pm they were 2 minutes apart from the start. By 8pm I couldn’t cope and was begging for every drug they had. They checked me and said I was 1cm! 10 mins later the doctor wanted to check again as I was so vocal she thought I could be progressing very quickly, I was 3cm and said I could be transfer to labour ward. By the time I’d been wheeled down I could feel my body pushing. It’s such an uncontrollable urge, you can’t stop. My midwife was amazing and really funny, I think she barely got her gloves on! My waters went and minutes later Olivia’s head was out with her hand at the side of her face! Next contraction she was on my tummy. Totally amazing! No stitches just a graze, I like to think that was down to 5 weeks of perineal massage but who knows...
Does that class as a sneeze birth? Hmm

Good luck to everyone waiting x x x x x x

Vikks · 20/05/2014 23:25

Bush lovely that your appointment went well and you're not feeling time pressure.

I'll be looking out for Foo news too!

MoominAndMiniMoom · 21/05/2014 00:04

Wow Vikks I think that definitely counts as sneeze birth! Amazing story! You're totally right though; when that urge to push gets you, you can't stop yourself.

Embarrassingly I insisted Callie was a big poo blocking the baby from getting out until I pushed and they told me they could see her hair Blush
